Creator's thread:

I've been playing the latest build of this game, and I found it somewhat entertaining. The premise basically is (after you complete the first platforming level as a dude) you're a girl trying to escape some evil sorceress's tower and everything wants to rape you. The directional keys move your character, the space bar is the primary jumping button, the Enter key is used for activating switches, and F4 toggles between windowed mode and full screen. The visual design roughly resembles an early NES game, and it's One Hit KO no matter what kills you. Since it's a transformation-based hentai game, several deaths involve your character being petrified into stone or gold after the money shot.

The biggest downside is that the game's programming is abysmal at this point, and your character regularly sticks to walls and uneven surfaces mid-jump. You'll probably experience many unjustified deaths just due to your character suddenly losing all momentum by stopping dead on the side of a ledge and being captured by a medusa or golem before you can mash the 1 and 2 keys (emergency escape buttons programmed into the game) to no-clip out of whatever you're stuck in. It's pretty terrible to start with, but I had the patience to play through all six available levels.

There's also a small cheat I've discovered that I didn't see mentioned when I skimmed the Eka thread. Normally, the Q button is used to instantly transport your character back to the last checkpoint you activated. However, if you press Q at the very beginning of the game, before leaving the first room or clearing any checkpoints, you can access two debug levels. The second debug room isn't much to brag about, as it's filled with the same monsters you'll run into through the main game, and you just fall off the screen if you reach the goal door. The first debug room, however, has a unique slime trap that hasn't been implemented anywhere in the main game yet, and it has two unique death animations that transform the heroine into a goo girl: One if you step in the puddle the trap leaves, and a second if it drips directly on your head.

Re: Tower of Change

This game reminds me of those Atari porn games that really sucked. It reminds me of it because this game really sucked. I can't believe you actually had the patience for all six levels.

Re: Tower of Change

I would love to try this, sound interesting... but Rapidshare has decided to implode =/

Re: Tower of Change

Well... it's a good exercise in learning what not to do when coding a game.

I say coding because design-wise it's actually not bad. But the author really needs to look up some platforming tutorials.

Re: Tower of Change

Mediafire version in case the Rapidshare name doesn't work.

Re: Tower of Change

I haven't started this yet, but how is it one hit ko if there's an escape?

Re: Tower of Change

They aren't to escape being hit, they're to escape being forced into walls.

Re: Tower of Change

One thing I notice that hasn't been mentioned is that you can save state with F5, and load it with F6. Should make things much less frustrating or easier.

Re: Tower of Change

And also spiders don't one hit you.

Re: Tower of Change

I think what they mean is that this games collision detection is still pretty bugged and if you end up getting stuck in a wall you can "escape" by hitting 1 and 2. That's just a guess though, seeing as I'm still downloading.

Edit: bit late to the punch on that one it seems. Wow four posts in one minute in the same thread... >.>

For the record, this happens for Nanocrisis too.

Still pisses me off though.

Re: Tower of Change

Seems like it takes three or four spiders together to actually KO you. Only one and they slow you down, presumably to make it easier for them to gang up on you. You remember all the webbed up girls hanging from various ceilings? That's what they do.

Games Dude, does it do that to you with any other games that run off that engine, or just those two?

Re: Tower of Change

I believe nightmare sphere runs off the same engine as well. Does that work for you?

Re: Tower of Change

Oh my god TF. <33333

Re: Tower of Change

The games I have played on this engire are as follows...

Blank Blood - worked perfectly

Nykka's Game (that really old Tp demo? yea that) - worked perfectly

Nightmare Sphere - worked but was really slow so I couldn't play it anyway

Nanocrisis - see above image.

This game - see above image.

Although, Nanocrisis did work once. The first time I played it, it worked great.... but it was the first version... and it ONLY worked that first time...

Re: Tower of Change

From what I can see he's still doing some work on the game, so I wouldn't lose all hope on this. It seems like a fairly nice idea, even though the graphics aren't exactly to write home about.

...Though I hope he does something about the golems or whatever those gold guys are. Shoving their dick in and not thrusting at all is not going to cut it.

Just think of it as being nostalgically terrible, then. Like 3/4 of the stuff on ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com

Re: Tower of Change

The creator just updated the game to 003.7. He said he added another level, but the only differences I notice is that the slime debug room "glitch" is gone and there's a new effect where your character is stunned for a few seconds if she falls from a high platform. The game still ends for me in the room where you have to freeze the medusa.

Also, I didn't notice before now, but 003.5 and 003.7 both use the F5 and F6 keys for save states and load states respectively. This should make the game significantly easier if you keep getting screwed over by the bad programming.
