Re: The Klub 17??

Wait, did you guys have some alternate "Klub 70" forum up and going somewhere this whole time, or is that a euphemism for razl. . . .org?

As for whether to require newbies to earn their admission, as a total newbie, I have to say I'm fine with the idea, as long as the bar is set realistically. I've had to earn my way onto closed forums before, and as long as the reward is worth it, I've never minded.

I'll even go so far as to suggest a model for what that might look like in this context. Established members can maintain a "request" thread. Moderators can assign a point value to each request, depending probably on difficulty. Newbies, by doing this "grunt work" and posting their efforts on an "audition" thread can make real contributions to the community and thereby earn their way in. What kind of stuff should go on the "request" thread? Well, for example, anyone who uses the coffeebar room will probably at some point wish for a pose of someone sitting and drinking coffee. Even if newbies don't have the latest version that includes the coffeebar, as long as they have the PoseEdit room, they can still put together a tolerable pose of that which will eliminate a lot of tedium for established members who can then take this basic pose and fine-tune it to their needs. And so forth. Just spitballing here, but that seems like a fair way to do it.

You explained it in better words than me.

Thanks, and just to expand on that, there are some kinds of poses where the community might benefit from a lot of different versions. In a comic I'm working on, I'm getting ready to put together (with a lot of greenscreening and gimping) scenes involving crowds of pedestrians on a sidewalk. One or two superb walking poses would be nice, but so would eighteen more that were maybe a little half-assed as long as they were all just a little different and convincing enough in a crowd scene. If you want to populate your coffeebar with more than one person, you probably want more than a single first-rate pose of someone sitting and drinking coffee. Like I said, a lot of this is good and necessary grunt work that newbies can accomplish and that would benefit the community.

Good idea and it keeps things fresh with different content.

Re: The Klub 17??

Also could not believe it this morning, when i saw that this site also is taken down... :(
Then wanted to see over at HG what is going on, but also down -.-
It's really depressing, when everything you try is going to be crushed.

At least we stick together, i think this is very important in such hard times.
I could not believe, that someone on the new site was spying or something, it was just 3 days old or something and not so many members... i really dont understand it how this is happening...

Looking forward to read at HG from Oz, what is going on.

Re: The Klub 17??

I understand the idea of selected members, but that could also backfire; if the requirements to join the community are too strict it may stop its growth and a community that does not grow is a doomed community. Conversely if the requirements are too light it would be just like not having them...

A contribution requirement to access the "private" part of the forum is an interesting idea, but that kind of defeats the whole purpose of keeping "spies" out, because you would still need to have a public section in which to share material that could get the whole thing shut down by itself. Then again if you just go ahead and make it an entirely closed forum how do you choose who to let in? What are the criterias then? And more importantly, how do you get new people?
One may argue that the old community doesn't really need new talent to be awesome. While that may be true to an extent, it may also be bad business; for example what about people like me who get fed up with the crappy retail version of the game and their arsehole producers (/insert rant here) and want to finally be able to use the full potential of the software? Are you really going to shut them out entirely?
There are really talented people out there (not speaking of myself of course :D though I have always tried to contribute to the best of my abilities :p) and keeping them out would be a big mistake IMO.

Just my 2 cents naturally, the only thing that really counts is bringing the Garden back as soon as possible

Re: The Klub 17??

Hi!

First of all, for those who are wondering what is this forum we are talking about: It was a kind of "Plan B" forum that existed only less than a week. So the word didn't even got out yet.

Second, I've been in contact with Oz and he told me that he didn't look at the TOS close enough. The forum was supposed to be 13+ but the stuff was naturally in our case 18+. That's the reason it was deleted. So, there was no spy or any copyright thingies.

I think, I wish, I expect that you will never get an answer to this question. Not here, not in any forum about this subject.

I think, I wish, I expect that we will get a private answer thru the PM, from here or from another forum.

I'd say lets start all over. If the forum files are still there as a backup, it would be great to set up a similar site at a carefully selected location.

Re: The Klub 17??

Hello! I'm glad to see that the community's still alive, even if it's in a diminished state. I was one of many silent leechers on the prior forum. Hope there will be a place where I could take the next step & contribute in the futur...

Re: The Klub 17??

Hello all! I was a member in the old forums, I hope everything is ready and back to normal in a few days.

The new site is going to be hidden (hard to find) with private members or open with a registration as the previous one? I don't believe a hard to join-find forum would help the community, but you are doing the hard work so the choice is yours ;)

Re: The Klub 17??

Imo a closed forum would suck. I run a porn blog on tumblr, and a large part of the fun is having followers and people liking and reblogging what I post. I imagine that a lot of the people who make stuff for tk17 feels the same way - they like seeing their stuff being used.

Let's get up and running in a new place, and just live with the fact that sometimes it will get taken down. Just get a new domain and voila, it is up and running again for a few years. The cost and work associated with it - I'd be happy to contribute to a "defense fund". We might even have some accomplished hacker members who knows how to keep this stuff secure for good, there must be some jurisdictions or technologies like TOR that can keep us safe.

Either of those solutions is much preferable to a small forum with a few hundred members.

Re: The Klub 17??

You just said you run a porn blog on tumblr. So why don't you start one up? If you run a porn blog like you claim you do then surely you can run a forum.
Setting up a forum is more complicated than running a blog on tumblr, but I could set up a forum.

But I don't know how to do it safely, from a legal perspective. And I'm not sure the community would follow me.

But check out my tumblr sevenpercentangel.tumblr.com :)

No, it's strictly real-life black-and-white erotic photographs. I think Nightenwolf meant it could serve as good inspiration for game-poses, because the shots are so artfully staged and composed.
