exceptions (like FOBS, or SM) are worth noting.
SM?

Oh and yeah, it seems as if it's gone. Probably because he's bug-fixing.
I'll for a bit.
EDIT: Lol nvm it's back. Yeah it was bugfixes.
with one of the best Stamina/Escape management mechanics.
It's good but there's no system that allows you to cum multiple times. It's unnatural for the player to see the sex scene to completion unless he loses. If you understand how the system works like FOBS you'll escape pretty quickly.
I feel my system tackles those issues, but Estrus Labyrinth is definitely a step in the right direction and all it had to do was add a stamina system.

Given the current demo a test. Also I found two bugs.

-Sometimes the Forest Dwellers (elf things) don't initiate scenes with the PC when they walk into their hitbox. They'll just keep walking in place on top of them.
-Dashing into that tiny raised platform in the starting area can cause you to drop out of the walkable area.

So yeah, it's missing content from the Fantia page. There's 7 more enemies, a couple new a couple old, and another biome(?) available, the Yamabiko is getting her behaviours added and the Dweller does actually have her masked apple chucking form. I was expecting some things to be missing for the unpaid version, but I'm surprised they cut so much.

Holy shit. It's not just dashing. You can literally just walk off.
I found another. You can get over 100% cum by continuously escaping the girls before they truly insert.
If you get caught too many times, your depth changes and you can no longer use the exit teleporter either.
If you get caught too many times the game begins to lag.
If you get caught while in your getup state after escaping a grab, both you and the enemy disappear. It becomes impossible to reset even with space.

Bit of an issue trying to play the demo. When I open player.exe a black window opens and promptly closes afterwards, can't open or play the game. Any ideas?

Reminder: hit F1 to access the menu and settings. F5 resets the game.

I hope I won't be a bird of ill omen, but... For me that demo tolls for the end of Zell.
- controls are OK, but physics are all but sharp. A far cry from Eroico, close to but slightly better than SA (garbage as a platform game IMHO)
- can't kill enemies, worse: can't capture them (meaning this is no longer the core of this new game)
- a bunch of bugs for a single, lone screen. Why release that? outside the Ansala-trademarked paywall.

Animations look better... I'm worried that's the only positive point; I personally don't need another interactive porn gallery commercially labelled a 'game', missing most if not all of the incentives that make a game.
A special mention to the drop trou thing. Castle of Temptation vibe... Won't elaborate, but this alone has me concerned in more ways than one.

I think it's time I stopped having any hope for what will stem from this hopefully short-term collaboration (didn't have much from the start TBH). .
Well, the fond memories of FOBS remain. Rest in peace, good old game. May ye not be desecrated much.

Dude have you always been so doom and gloom?

You're reading way too much into it.

Just because you can't defeat enemies right now doesn't mean it's going to stay that way. Capturing enemies is probably going to come later too. He needs to create the gallery room first. FOBS has reset to very VERY early stages because of the engine changes.
I will say though... It's weird the game has so many bugs. He released the game paywalled on his fantia so I thought the fans who support him financially there would at least help him out a bit by pointing them out. Heck if you check the comments on FC2 nobody even says anything about it. Are the japanese fans even playing?

I don't get it...

It's simple. Hero now has a stamina bar.
What do stamina bars do and why are they used?

Stamina Bars have a million uses. It's based on your imagination. In fact, there's a Nurse in the stage select area that uses it in a unique way in conjuction with its main use.

If your stamina is high, you'll find it easier to escape grabs.
If your stamina is low, the difficulty of escaping grabs is extremely high. Simple right? But how this affects how players think is SIGNIFICANT. To say the least.

So keep stamina high right?
But your attacks cost stamina.

So if you attack a lot, and then somehow get knocked down... well good luck getting out of that grab without giving her a creampie first.

This leads to a problem though.
You can attack as long as you have even a little stamina. This would mean that no matter how low your stamina, the hero will act as if he's in the best condition.
Solution?
If your stamina drops below 0, your action still goes off but now the hero is "exhausted"
He moves slow.
His jumps don't go as high.
His punches are weak as hell. They're slower too.
Stamina regenerates slower too.

Players will have to play differently keeping their stamina in check.
This paired with limited ranged options, and a slower attack speed than the original game means the player has to get in the face of the girls to make progress which is difficult.

This means, there's times when it's better to just let the girl fuck you and for you to not struggle. Doing nothing and waiting for your stamina to regenerate before trying to struggle is a very valid strategy, and is absolutely key in order to escape. You cannot escape some girls at low stamina. This increases engagement with the sexual aspect, and the balance of offense and defense is now something the player has to be conscious of. My version is harder, and the player will get raped to creampie much more often.
I can see how this greatly effects your decision making for playing the game, but this kind of stamina system is mostly just annoying for a game as simple as shota fight. I feel like the reason dark souls (ie stamina bar based action games) and its sidescrolling spin offs work is because its built into the combat system with dodges and telegraphed/understandable enemy attack patterns. As it is, shota fight is a beat-em-up where I think stamina just detracts from the speed at which you can play. If you were to remake it in the style you have shown, you'd need to redesign enemy attacks and, in general, add some abilities to avoid damage. Oh, and you'd also probably need to drastically reduce the enemy count in the levels.

I disagree completely.

Have you played ? It's a discussion me and my friends have about the importance of various elements normal players don't notice when playing fighting games. When you take out all the extra stuff like jumping, supers, and just guards, and you're kept with just the very basics of normals, fighting games can still be challenging.

In the remake I was working on, the challenge is spacing, and stamina management.
It sounds simple when I just list it out as 2 things, but each thing has a lot of nuance which is where the challenge comes from.

The version I have is beatable without getting sexed once, but the challenge of the game makes it unlikely. Even I can barely manage it.

You think too lightly on how much this one system can drastically change a game and give the girls more agency as combatants. It feels more like a reverse rape game does it not?

this might be veering too much off topic, however, for a beat em up, i'd rather look at other beat em ups for inspiration. in a beat em up, what the enemies do and how they work together is where the challenge is. If I were remaking shota fight, i'd give enemies unique moves that they telegraph. An enemy that dive cicks, an enemy that slides, an enemy that throws projectiles while hiding behind her allies.
However i'd also give the protag a crouching attack so I can expand these options.
as for sex, well, i'd rather it be skill based. I'm more of a fan of pressing button combinations or mashing it out, than being told "you're too tired to mash"

edit: man....streets of rage 4 is just a magnificent beat em up ain't it? And hoo boy, if you wanna play the marvel vs capcom 3 of beat em ups, play fight n' rage. got damn.

Not necessarily. It's a balance of enemy abilities, and the protagonist's method of dealing with it.
It's the difference between the Simpson's beat em up, and the Alien vs Predator beat em up.

However i'd also give the protag a crouching attack so I can expand these options.
Because you're already of thinking of balancing on both sides of the equation it means you aren't thinking about it on a core level in my opinion. You can also remove from both sides of the equation. What matters is how it feels and how the characters engage with each other.

as for sex, well, i'd rather it be skill based. I'm more of a fan of pressing button combinations or mashing it out, than being told "you're too tired to mash"
Of course that could just be preference, but it could be that you're not used to being challenged in that way, and how that challenge can affect gameplay.
For instance, I prefered my action games to give me infinite ammo like Devil May Cry or the original Shinobi.
But when the new Shinobi comes out and limits the amount of kunai you have, now I'm thinking about them in a different way.
A stamina system is the same kind of limit, but it limits consecutive attacks.
The stamina system affecting grabs just makes you more conscious of it so it impacts the sexual nature of the game as well, not just the combat nature.

Imagine you're fighting a loli, and a big girl.
You've punched too much. Your character is exhausted, and your lust is really high. The next time you're caught you'll cum no doubt, and now that you're exhausted you know you can't escape.

Now you're thinking... If I get caught by someone... who's the best one to get caught by... The answer is the loli. Creaming her doesn't hurt as much, and you can escape at a lower stamina because she doesn't hold you down as strongly.

Or you're fighting the nurse in the stage select room. She grabs you with you at 50% stamina. What's the best option? To immediately mash for escape?

1 meter, and the actual ways the simple escape minigame makes you think changes. It's one of the reasons why people reacted so strongly to Labyrinth of Estrus's grab system.

___

My problem with Zell and reverse rape ACT creators is just how they don't think too deeply about their games on a mechanical level, but just on a fetish level. He did a good job in some parts in the original FOBS, but shaking off enemies is super easy. Not really fun getting caught and then escaping immediately. Kind of makes the girls seem extremely weak and not a threat sexually.

Succubus Affection was the worst at this. It's either you cum in the girls immediately because of Auto-masturbate or you escape. No in-between.

But again, this could all just be preference at the end of the day. Some people prefer the original shinobi giving them unlimited ammo.

Does anyone have a 100% savefile for FOBS B 1.05? I kind of accidentally deleted my save and I really don't feel like going through all of that again just to restore my completed savefile.

I never said it wasn't more challenging or that it doesn't change the way you interact with a game, I said it would be more annoying. The game has become more challenging, sure, but what's the point of that? Like I said, it means the game takes longer and that there's a good chance I'm going to be locked into watching more sex scenes (while not wanting to take my hands off the controller) when my goal, and I imagine the goal of a lot of people playing shota fight, is to unlock the sex content.

Shota fight is a very simple game that can be beaten quickly. If you make it more challenging, you have to think about why you would do that in the first place. I don't believe the way you attack or the way the enemies attack are conducive to not just making the addition of a stamina bar a time waster. I have to wait for my stamina bar, so I must wait and dodge enemies that are difficult to dodge because of their simple AI (and lack of dodging mechanics) forcing me to be grabbed where I have to WAIT before I can furiously button mash so I don't have to waste time watching the same sex animation for the 6th time all because I'm trying to beat the game SO I CAN JERK IT. If the purpose of the sex animations are to arouse, they need to be integrated into the game in a way that is not frustrating or annoying, or the game needs to be fast and easy to beat, so I can beat it hehe.

So, like I said, the game would need to have a lot of mechanical and enemy change to make the stamina system you've added worthwhile. You don't have to share the opinion, but I wanted to make sure it's clear that I am not criticizing the challenge without purpose.

Edit. It's worth noting that I don't know what the acceptable line for sex gameplay integration with the challenge of the game is. Personally my opinion has always been that I'm just not sure that having "rape on loss" is a good game mechanic. Your stamina bar mechanic forces more gameplay integration into the sex, but it means that I can't take it easy as well. The most reasonable happy medium of these concepts I've seen come from EroIco and Kincaid, which have the almost exact same "rape on stun/defeat" setup, but they allow you to watch the full scene play out without any additional health/stamina/resource lost upon completion of the scene. It means you can have your gameplay be fun and engaging, and once your character is stunned, you can enjoy the brief respite and arousal knowing that it won't make the game any harder.

The game has become more challenging, sure, but what's the point of that?
To make it feel like the girls are assaulting you in a game where reverse rape is the sexual content focus.
To make you concerned about the sexual grabs, making it stay in the back of your mind increasing the eroticism of every moment playing, as you're always conscious that the girls might actually grab you, and what you should do when grabbed.

Like I said, it means the game takes longer and that there's a good chance I'm going to be locked into watching more sex scenes (while not wanting to take my hands off the controller) when my goal, and I imagine the goal of a lot of people playing shota fight, is to unlock the sex content.
But the game's short. Like... 10 levels, and you can still scale difficulty with the statue to be balls easy.
My frustration with the original game is how it didn't feel like I got my money's worth technically with how fast the experience went vs when I played Eroico and Eroico technically has less sexual content.
____

In general, what you're saying about game difficulty can even be applied to normal games.
I'll rephase that for a game like Bayonetta.
"Why does Bayonetta give you so little health and force such strict timing on dodge counters? I just want to beat the game so I get more of the story, because that's what I'm here for. The content. I want to see the setpieces and bosses and that's it."

What you're criticizing itself isn't just what I did, but you're criticizing the concept of "challenge" in video games.
I can do it no problem though...
No kidding, like with 100% certainty I can make it to the end, but usually not at full health.
I can't just be getting luckier than you. It must be that you aren't spacing yourself properly, managing your stamina well or relying on your ranged options at the right time.

You're playing badly so you can't do it is all.
It's fine to be bad, but I can't agree with the idea that since you're bad, the game's design is inherently unfair.
If the purpose of the sex animations are to arouse, they need to be integrated into the game in a way that is not frustrating or annoying, or the game needs to be fast and easy to beat, so I can beat it hehe.
Yeah, this is inescapable with any games that make it so the sexual content only happens as an enemy attack.
That being said, it's not my mindset as seen by my game Sex Machine. It's part of the original game, and I decided to just make the sexual content more prevalent in your experience playing the game.

But I can understand the reasoning:
I win, I get the satisfaction of winning, and knowing the characters are unlocked in some gallery so I can get back and see them later.
I lose, the pain of losing isn't that bad because I lost to a hot chick riding my character's dick. It's not like the losses in Crash Bandicoot or something where Crash gets absolutely destroyed by whatever kills him.

Technically it's a win-win.
So, like I said, the game would need to have a lot of mechanical and enemy change to make the stamina system you've added worthwhile. You don't have to share the opinion, but I wanted to make sure it's clear that I am not criticizing the challenge without purpose.
I don't know.
I'm the type of designer that's pretty conscious of design decisions.

I've played my remade version and then the original version a lot of times to make sure...

In one version, the player experiences the sex much more often.
In one version, the player is actually conscious about when they press buttons.
In one version, the player is much more conscious of the enemies as individuals, being concerned about how they act and when they act giving them a stronger presence as an enemy.

All things that immerse you in the adult world, make you conscious of the game, and have you experience the sexual nature of the game naturally as you progress. And since progressing is challenging, meeting new girls is WAY more satisfying.

And again, I'm running through the game without a sweat on normal difficulty so I can't understand the idea that it's unfair.
Your stamina bar mechanic forces more gameplay integration into the sex, but it means that I can't take it easy as well
This is probably just my design mentality bleeding through.
I like femdom, and reverse rape games. I don't just like these games because I'd prefer maledom games but the maledom games are nasty, like some users. No I actually like the femdom and reverse rape elements. The sexual stuff should matter to the game. Mentally, I want the girls to actually feel threatening on a sexual level, and I like it when games make me conscious of that fact, because no matter how many times I get grabbed the situation is different so I won't get bored of the sex act itself. It's the situation that adds to the eroticism. I definitely succeeded in that, as you've said.

I've seen come from EroIco
Eroico's sexual content integration is sparse. My mentality is different. The game isn't designed in a way that you're incentivized to view them nor does it matter.
I much prefer FOBS making it so you have sex to gain power ups from the enemies making you have sex with the enemies actually making the game more erotic.
Eroico doesn't really work as an adult game to me because of how the sexual content in that game doesn't matter at all.

You do have to remember that in Eroico, your character's goal is to defeat the Final Boss (whatever her title is), and defeat whoever is in his way. In FOBS we have no idea what the playable character's goal is, only that he seemingly 'collects' monster girls. Eroico's sexual content works in the fact that your character is a completely unwilling participant and has to be forced into it, having to be knocked down or knocked out (HP = 0). FOBS's sexual content is engrained in the gameplay because it's what the game's context is completely focused around.

Context does matter when making your sexual content to fall in line with the world you're contextualizing through outright dialogue or subtext. You'll ruin your immersion if you don't consider that. Take your game for example. Your character is seemingly trapped in a facility full of female androids. Unlike the mc of Eroico, he doesn't have a sword and shield to defend himself. So he has to beat the androids at their own game.

EDIT: Also on the topic of stamina bars, as much as I like the immersion those bring, having them in platformers is an ungodly amount of frustrating. Especially if you ingrain it into jumping and attacking.

MC in FOBS can't sexually engage though.

The girls 99% initiate in FOBS which is why it's a femdom game in comparison to Succubus Affection.
For the maledom animations it's always because the MC gets hypnotized or gassed and loses control over his faculties.

In that respect it's the same thing between Eroico and FOBS.

Eroico however made the conscious decision of making the adult content not matter, while FOBS made the conscious decision of adding the "recruitment" element so your hero gets powerups for making the girls like him.
Context does matter when making your sexual content to fall in line with the world you're contextualizing through outright dialogue or subtext. You'll ruin your immersion if you don't consider that.
I'm not saying it's not a choice.
I'm saying that they made that choice fully aware of how it would affect the game on a sexual level.
Take your game for example. Your character is seemingly trapped in a facility full of female androids. Unlike the mc of Eroico, he doesn't have a sword and shield to defend himself. So he has to beat the androids at their own game.
And the reason I didn't give him a sword and a shield is so that violent expectation isn't set. I'm talking in the realm of the conscious design decisions they made before making their games, and how that leads to how players interact with the sexual content. You're thinking of the games as immutable from their set finished copy.
____
I wouldn't change Eroico. It was his decision to make it the way he did. But him making it that way led to the sexual content being largely superfluous and not something the player experiences unless he's bored and lets it happen. The design decisions he made led to a more unerotic experience.
EDIT: Also on the topic of stamina bars, as much as I like the immersion those bring, having them in platformers is an ungodly amount of frustrating. Especially if you ingrain it into jumping and attacking.
Is it just an "immersion" system to you?
Is it hard to see it as a game design decision that can quite literally change how you approach the other mechanics of a game?

A game with no mana bar, and a game with a mana bar are very different in how you think and value the various resources in the game.

Okay yeah it's not just immersion. But the thing is about platformers, most of the time at least, is that you're constantly moving around to explore and not take damage from unrelenting enemies. Having a stamina gauge as another form of resource management along with health, mana, and in these types of games lust, just makes platforming and combat more annoying rather than challenging.

If there are a lot of resources to manage, I would agree.
If it's 2 or 3 in total, I think the player can manage and the developer can create more unique situations with more tools at his disposal.

That being said, I'm hearing the terms "annoying" and "frustrating" which are nebulous and completely user-dependant.

Not saying it's not fair for you to feel that way btw. Some people literally cannot handle Dark Souls gameplay because they hate how they can't attack all the time because of a stamina bar. The people that can manage that resource though can understand how big of an impact it has on the gameplay experience and how without it, the series wouldn't have that humanizing factor.

Me personally?
I can manage a few resources, and the benefits of the resource WAAAAAAY outweigh the negatives. But again. It's an opinion.

I want to have a possibility of being raped and cumming inside of the girls when I play reverse rape games.
I like it when reverse rape games make you engage with them on a sexual level.

Might just be my tastes though.

Dude just called me bad at the sex video game. And I take that personally, I'll have you know I've beaten Getting Over it with Bennet Foddy twice. I've beaten Alt-F4 and other silly rage games. Not to brag, but I've beaten the original Ghosts and Goblins for the NES. Persistence is the name of the game for me.

It's also worth noting that I love stamina management games and challenging games in general. I've beaten all the Dark Souls multiple times, I've played a half dozen spin off dark-souls-like platformers, and I also love platformers in general, having Super Mario World as my all time favorite game.

My point, first and foremost, is how dare you.

My second point is, dude I wanna jack it to these games. I think Shota Fight being made more challenging via stamina bar makes that prospect more difficult while imo not really adding much to the experience of "enjoying" the sex game. If you think making the game slightly more frustrating and not as spamable (in regards to the attacks) feeds into your desire for femdom, then by golly you can have your fun. I simply disagree.

I'll just reply in PM to stop the off-topic, since I've got a lot to say.
I'm only mentioning it here in the open so other people can know where the conversation went if they want to join in.

EDIT: Regarding FOBS, can anyone who's following him on fantia give insight on to what is?

Named ????4, it appears to be
a large-breasted woman with rabbit ears in a full-body white suit (zentai) holding a blade that appears to be a mix between an axe and a shortsword. Her white suit is torn around the shoulders, crotch, and between her breasts in a second gif. She appears to have a cowgirl-position animation.
