Re: Ghost Hunter Vena (Vosmug)

See, I had no problem with the EXO part. It made sense with the story. The problem I had with it was EXO being the final boss battle. Should have been a multi-phase fight. EXO freeing Eerien should've just been the first part, with Eerien taking over as the final battle.
I definitely agree with the part about the final fight. It was incredibly disappointing to play that as the EXO-3. Of course, I didn't particularly enjoy the EXO at all, and I feel it kept going for too long. It would've been awesome if the MC (Eerien you say?) had to fetch her equipment herself for whatever reason (maybe the EXO-3 broke during the rescue), and she had to get it unarmed and unclothed, perhaps having to avoid enemies.

I guess I'm kind of biased, since I played through it mostly for the porn, and the gameplay second, but I simply wanted more Eerien action, and the enemy design and time making the EXO part took away from any enemies and time he, and ultimately we, could've spent on her. Add to that that her parts were fun to me, while the EXO was not, and you've got even more reason to feel like that.

But hey, he made it that way, and if he's happy with it, he's happy with it.

Re: Ghost Hunter Vena (Vosmug)

It would be interesting to see whether Vos does game over scenes like in Parasite City

The game is looking really great so far, better than most other H-games out there atm even though it's only a early demo :D

Re: Ghost Hunter Vena (Vosmug)

Just played the 1.1 demo, I discovered this thread because of the mansion thread. Gotta say I am looking forward to seeing that blonde get screwed.

Anyways this game looks pretty nice.

That thread reminded me of this one, I used to check Vosmug's blog more often. But progress has been really slow lately, i hope the game keeps getting worked on.

Re: Ghost Hunter Vena (Vosmug)

I might be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure Vosmug either burned himself out or is suffering from some kind of depression. It's pretty sad to read his blog updates. I loved Xenotake (and still replay it from time to time), and I'm really looking forward to this game coming out. I just hope he's taking good care of himself and gets past whatever is bothering him.

I've noticed that too :( he produces excellent content but it seems like he's going through something rough. He also seems to isolate himself pretty heavily, which is unfortunate - I haven't seen him active on forums anywhere. It'd be pretty easy for him to generate some hype just by showing up and posting here.

On the topic of the game, I'm definitely looking forward to it too. Like you said, HentaiProdigy, I still replay Xenotake every now and then, and Vena looks even better.

Throwing in two pennies how awesome the graphics and animations (especially) are. Reactions on controls are a little heavy though.

Seems like he's back on the trail after a shaky few months so that's nice.

Well, that IS one of the defining features of survival-horror. It does make the ghosts' circling extra-annoying though.

Yup...Demonophobia has a pretty ridiculously difficult control. Quite a few of them are clunky or have strange control schemes.

I wonder why every hentai developer becomes absolutely miserable whilst making subsequent games, both western and jap devs?

Maybe its the pressure from all the expectations of the following up their previous games with some as good or better.

Yeah I wonder why they all seem to get sick or have very debilitating injuries that affect their health as a whole too. It's just weird how consistently it happens haha.

Re: Ghost Hunter Vena (Vosmug)

My theory is that making porn games is a last resort for making money for the majority of them. A lot of devs don't seem to take issue in partaking in this industry (especially in the west where you can make some juicy bucks if you do it right) but at the end of the day most of them are still poor guys sitting at home drawing porn and making games on their own in an industry that thrives on piracy. I'm not trying to insult their craft at all, it takes an amazing amount of work and talent to do this stuff mostly on your own, but I can't help but think that it might be a little depressing in the long run to make a living off drawing porn, especially in an industry as thankless and unappreciative as this.

Personally, I'm having the time of my life making these games. Pretty sure some other H-devs are having a fun as hell time doing this also (I know the creator of Divine Arms is also).

Yeah I wonder why they all seem to get sick or have very debilitating injuries that affect their health as a whole too. It's just weird how consistently it happens haha.
This is because a lot of us DID get into doing stuff at home (whether it's h-games or another "at home" thing like writing or voicework or web design etc.) because we had health issues that would have prevented us from, or made it incredibly difficult to work a normal 8 to 5 job at an office.

A lot of people too do get sick this often and such, but just don't really publicly state it online, etc. Time can also play illusions on how "consistent" this stuff is too; for example in our case, Cheshire hasn't had a sickness or illness now in months, but people probably still assume he gets sick all the time because of a dense period of about 3 months where he was getting hit with back to back problems.

And finally, sitting in a computer chair all day long leads to a lot of health issues unto itself, which only makes the pre-existing ones even worse.

Mmm, I would take issue there. I don't expect to profit as it is a niche community, this is known up front. Few gamers play in front of a PC anymore, and even fewer would partake in pornographic gaming. Hell I don't even like it when HoneyPop shows up as my active game in Steam, so I sign out of friends just to be hidden.

A lot of devs don't seem to take issue in partaking in this industry (especially in the west where you can make some juicy bucks if you do it right) but at the end of the day most of them are still poor guys sitting at home drawing porn and making games on their own in an industry that thrives on piracy.
I personally don't want my name public, and no I don't sit at home all day drawing porn either. I'm actually a very well-to-do individual working a real-ass career making a slightly higher middle class tier income BUT I do work on games on the side. There's just less time for H-Games versus my "legit sfw games"

.....it isn't finished yet, nor does it seem to be ready yet for a while. Odd necro :/

I guess to update on here, he's been working on image sets (which're taking quite a while each), and says he's still motivated about finishing it. Added a couple teasers in the latest too.

I'm somehow comfortable but also not, because while I make enough to live and pay my bills, I don't make enough to put anything away for the future, and that's a little stressful. still, no debilitating illnesses here, but that might be because the hours i put in aren't enough to fuck me up

some days its hard to work though, like i sit there for hours thinking...what is fun... why is this particular set of rooms linked together fun or engaging to walk through?
and i never find a good answer, so i end up just thinking anything is fine if you do something in there

Re: Ghost Hunter Vena (Vosmug)

I have to say I'm grateful for the necro, as until today I'd never seen this one. I really like the animations and the mechanics, simple though they may be. I really hope we see something new in the near future, as It's my understanding that the current demo was released in 20----14....
