Are you sure that spell doesn't have any toxicity? What version are you playing? Cuz i remember that i wasn't really keen on using Sedation cuz it keeps intoxicating my slaves.

Or maybe that because i used too much any other spells and magic items and lab-mods on them previously so the toxicity builds up too much. Don't know.
At the time of that comment I was using version 0.5.0.2 (so the latest build at this time even), for testing purposes I used 500 mana(basically 50 casts of sedation in a single day) on sedation spamming a single slave (and another 3 mana for checking the toxicity at the end), results where 0 toxicity, the slave used for the experiment was a human(so no racial ability that affects it), my magic stat at the time was 6(no idea if that affects it or not).

Thanks for the information! I'm actually playing the 0.4.4.6 version. I like to wait for multiple version releases before moving to the newest version so the change's impact is much more apparent for me. :D

Hmm, i guess i need to rethink my strategy playing this then, if some spells turns out doesn't give toxicity at all in newer version. I just hope that that was not intended and actually a bug because it kinda make "toxicity" penalty obsolete and will be changed in even newer version, OR maybe go all-the-way and redesign the "toxicity" system to something that can contribute more to the gameplay without it being a nuisance or just lip-service. :)

I wasn't aware that any spells cause toxicity, though the only spells I make regular use of are Mind Reading and Sedation, with the occasional Invigorate.

I do know that Mutation reduces toxicity, but its moot since it has the same effect anyways.

I've only ever seen toxicity increases from items.

Not sure if I'm gonna ruin anyone's day by saying this, but it's possible to find out the Patreon cheat code by just perusing the game files a bit, I found it in under 10 minutes.

Just wanted to put that out there in case the dev wanted to fix it somehow.

New exploration mechanic: Deeper Areas.
While in Deeper Area ecountered NPCs have 70% chance to have higher grade
Deeper Area enemies have 25% boost to awareness, 25% boost to power and 50% boost to health
Deeper Area enemies have 25% increased loot drop and 20% increased XP reward
Deeper Area will have 20-60% more enemies per group
Exhausted or stressed slaves wont automatically return to mansion
Exhausted slaves deal only 2/3 of their damage

anyway, devguy, if you're reading this:

The game ATM is too grindy.

Selling slaves is way too unprofitable, since training and upgrading them costs a LOT more than what you get back. Mansion upgrades are especially tedius.

- As for enhancement in the future - emotional relationships between slaves. They can be rivals, friends, great friends, fuck buddies, lovers, etc..

This would of course have impact on stress and obedience during sex acts. Also, selling a rival/friend would also have an impact.

- Incest acts being harder to get a slave to agree too (with an appropriate reaction) with an "incestuous" trait that makes it easier.

You should write to itch.io (download page) with this kind of suggestions.
I've been buffing slave selling price multiple times recently and I think it's fairly balanced right now. You can also earn mansion upgrades through quests.

Emotional relationship would take quite a lot of work to plan and implement so I don't really have them currently in mind. Hopefully they will appear some time, but no promises.

For incest this might probably come soon with new sex scene system.

Thanks for the game and the update. I have a few questions though:
- What are the benefits of killing defeated people and partial nudity rule? In general, can the rules' tooltips become clearer about the rules' effects?
- Will there be main character's unique traits? I think it'll be great to get a few unique traits for MC as quest reward, like recovering more energy, having higher max energy, lower mana cost for certain spells or just easier to do certain things.
- (Game version 0.5.3.1) I think there should be a hash penalty for using Mode:Abuse on a slave the first time. Also, I'm not sure if it's an exploit but I can try spanking to make the slave gain Likes it rough, then just grind loyalty and obedience with Abuse (without the stress penalty). Also, orgy can be done without losing the Aphrodite Brew (Mode:Sex).
- Will there be options to make slaves do exhibitionism? I kind of want to be able to shame slaves, especially proud ones, with this. (I'm thinking about Ayneris here.)
- Will there be rivalry in this game? I think after gaining certain level of reputation, it'll be great to have competition/challenge, may be from another noble house in the city. Reward/penalty may be gold and mana income, or borrowing/lending slaves for a few days. Also, when you have high reputation in a city, maybe you can get repeatable quests where they lend you a slave to teach rather than usual? On a minor side note, I kind of want to be able to take a little "revenge" on the chancellor of the first quest.
- Will there be more to Tia's little quest? Will she gain a sprite?

You mentioned on your Patreon back last month that you were cleaning up the slave class that would not be compatible with supporting older saves; has that save break happened yet? I've kinda been holding out on picking up new versions until I know the save support is back to normal, and then I'll start up a new game. Or does 'older saves' only refer to saves that are way, way out-of-date?

Yes, starting 0.5.3.x older saves might cause issues. I gonna try to keep compatibility with new saves on reasonable level though.
