Re: Breeding Season

He removed the debug codes unless you were a donator....
He hasn't removed the debug codes, he just changed the way they worked. It used to be you would type in moneybags to get 1000 Gil, but now it's moneybags.X, x being the amount you want. There are also a whole bunch more, but the only way to find out what they are is to be a donator, or you can use a flash decompiler and look at the script like I did.

Re: Breeding Season

These kinds of things happen all the time, where someone with promising content ends up asking for donations only to come up short when it turns out that asking for donations was successful. Even him returning for "seconds" after initially having fucked off is par for the course. The simple fact that he's made quite a lot of money for what meager content he has produced over the last half-year or so should be telling enough as it is, but experience teaches that the people who donate to these kinds of projects tend to then zealously defend their mistakes rather than understand them for what they are.

Given it's extremely poor history, the current prevalence of this system is quite disturbing, and the success stories of donating prior to production are completely outshone by the sheer number of "scams" that have happened, developers losing their motivation and work ethic the moment their product becomes a success before it's ever finished. It quickly stops being a case of "I enjoy what I do and I want to make an amazing product" and turns into a case of "this is good enough" before moving on.

On the subject of Breeding Season, let's just say I'm extremely skeptical of this turning even remotely worthwhile. The notion of charging for a product before it's even finished, before it's creator proved capable, before there are clear merits, is one that SHOULD be hard to defend.

Anyone else feel like the new art assets for the HUD and such kinda.... blends together and makes it hard to navigate? The old HUD was simple and clean, worked well for a game where you honestly didn't care about it. and the color choice, it's nothing but brown....

I like how everything looks now. Well, I still have a problem with how the creatures looks, the goofy appearance and animations, but the graphical upgrade tricked me into forgetting about my problems with it before.

Pretty much summed up everything I was thinking. Bolded is hilarious and true far too often. Sure it's already been said in this thread by me and others, but "a fool and his money are soon parted".

Of course I'd love nothing better than for everything to work out okay the game, I have nothing against Hartista personally or against his game. I'm just going off of the evidence I've seen so far. Talk is cheap, I trust things I see people actually do and what Hartista has done so far is pretty much just hire an artist and churn out some smallish updates that were long overdue. Hartista is great at the talking bit, I just hope he can follow through on his talk now, his track record for doing so still doesn't look good.

Like someone said recently, if game development doesn't work out for him, I'm sure he has a future in marketing anyways :p One thing most amatuer artists and game developers lack is a business sense, so can't hate on him for being clever enough to still get money out of people after what he did, lol. I laugh at the people who put money into shady projects instead.

Blogspot is aggressively destroying all porn blogs, leading to a mass exodus to other hosts.

Blogspot flagged their page with "Other Abuse" and deleted it.

Re: Breeding Season

5.7 patch notes

Additions
- Brand new Save system: You can have up to six save files to quick save/load from
- These pages of six save files each can be saved to or loaded from your local computer, so you can ensure that you never lose your saves
- From now on saves will transfer between different versions much more easily
- Save files are now written in JSON and all values in the saves can be edited directly, meaning you can change your save however you'd like (if you can figure out the JSON)

Minor
- Map and Inventory screens are half-implemented and do not work correctly yet
- New Traits are partially implemented

Known Issues
- Sometimes when loading from local files the button says "Save", which is weird... (still loads correctly, though)
- A couple catgirl animations are still broken (they'll be replaced with better animations soon)
This took him a month to do. One month of work to him is reworking a save system

Oh boy do i feel bad for his patrons. No really, this guy is one hell of a scam artist to be get these people to continue paying him.

Re: Breeding Season

It's not that bad...I mean sure, the save thing should have taken a few days at most. On the other hand though, he also pays the artist with the money, right? And that guy's posting new sprites and doing art streams all the time. Maybe coding isn't a priority right now.

Re: Breeding Season

I heard people complaining about it, he even posted one of the complaints on the blog a while back. Oh well, I'm not paying for it. It's amazing how many people are willing to put money into it.

I mean hey, at least the project is advancing, look on the bright side. Even if it's pretty far behind promised schedule. I think everybody knows that's the weakness of Patreon, monthly pay, why rush? Even if it's not intentional, it still happens. Unless he's going to cut off their funds until they catch up, there's not even much they can do to fix their time mistakes/failures at this point.

The artist seems to be keeping up with the workload, it's always on the programming that there seems to be trouble. Hope he's paying SPurple well, because he's saving the project like woah by having a constant stream of eye candy to post to distract people. If he didn't keep things rolling, people might actually realize they're spending a lot for extremely slow progress.

Seems to me like Hartista is the most incompetent member of his team and isn't able to implement the work of his artist and animator at a reasonable pace. Either that or hes the kind of guy that leaves everything to the last minute and doesnt do jack shit until the deadline he gives is almost up. Which would explain why he never delivers on time too. I mean this guy is the definition of amateur developer...he puts alot of Steam Greenlight developers to shame.

I'm not impressed that this month's update was a basic save system, but I'm not raging. As long as they are doing SOMETHING every month, and the game isn't dead, that what matters.

I just wish they'd prioritize the animations and pregnancy aspects. That's what my dong hungers for, not save files!

Re: Breeding Season

With the patreon paying him 25k a month this kind of updates are bullshit. I really don't understand how people keep paying him... I've been following this game since it started but even from the start it looked like a scam to me.
