Anyway, I wasn't saying that I need an incentive. If I was referring to myself I would have to say that I very much want an incentive, because the big demo you referred to is apparently missing most of the content that people keep saying is in the Enty demo, including many gameplay fixes that I would need to actually play through myself to see how the game has improved over time. Text descriptions of all of this stuff isn't enough for me, but if I saw enough of the updates and saw that they were definitely making positive progress, you can bet your paragraphs that I would support the game through whatever weird service I could manage it. You're speaking with someone in an odd financial situation (as are many, I'm sure) who has also made the mistake of backing far too many games on promise which simply disappear or disappoint afterwards. Please be understanding if I don't seem to be rushing to my wallet this time, no matter how helpful or friendly or progressive the dev seems to be.
Of course, this isn't how everyone thinks, and I even said in my original post that it might just make people pirate the heck out of the game, but there might actually be good reason for that. Reading through this thread, I saw a lot of people who wanted to play and enjoy this game who simply couldn't due to the method of payment, either not being able to sign up or not wanting to. Hopefully this particular game has a chance of being released on one of these 'H-Steam' things that have been popping up so that you don't even have to pirate it, and we can all be happy. But until then, as another yarr matey of ULMF, you can at least understand that sometimes people do want to support the developer and can't.
Of course, this is all speaking as a poor naive soul who actually buys the games he grabs from here and then puts enough time into. I'm likely the exception rather than the rule, but... dammit, let me live in my fantasy, man!
I knew that post would get a negative response. Do I always sound like a dick, or am I even more socially inept than I thought I was? Seriously, I want to know, since nobody on this forum has ever seemed to have a single positive response to anything I say. Just a confused side note, I'm not really angry.
