Well I supported this when this was still pay per large update and cancelled it when this turned into montly subscription fearing my investment wouldn't get me better results. While I am not salty enough to go full "Divine Arms" towards you I can understand all the backlash you are getting. The problem is all your work, sweat and tears into your product might be genuinely true and sincere, but for all we know it's all bloated and false. Not saying this is a scam of any sorts and truly I still believe in this project, but the only thing I have is that I have to take your word for it without any proof and this sort of practices will get people triggered.

That's the problem. There is abundant evidence that proves otherwise. Three to four Patreon posts a month. You are actively choosing to believe otherwise simply because you don't want to support the project, and instead choose to harass us and sling false accusations.

Im Pretty sure you would get more Beloved *Patreon* Funding if you would make every 1-3 Month a small update what the Heck you are doing there.
Not Communicating(PR) to the not actively choosen will not help to Support the Project Beyonde its Momentan Funding, maby you wouldnt need to put that 1k Dollars from your own Pocket.

Alright, I wish you luck accomplishing this goal. I feel you need to get a working demo using the new engine up and running as fast as possible if you want to avoid the Divine Arms fate. I would also recommend bimonthly sprints with clearly defined goals culminating in a released version for the patrons. A couple of such sprints would put you back in the poster's good graces, I believe.

While the Solution would be super easy, Enlit3D does it with his Patreon the whole time, let Patreons see your Progress first, afterwards open it up to the Public, same for Demos, newest version for Patreons a Version behind for Public.

He's trying to make US look bad for asking questions he doesn't want to hear, all while escalating the tension, even with people who are arguing in good faith. Seems to me like he's just playing a shtick, feigning to take offense. Then bystanders will go "Oh boy here comes the Patreon Police again" while the dev vanishes (with a damn Rick and Morty gif to top it off WEW lad) without actually resolving the issue.

I'm pretty sure he understands the concept, but to my knowledge, the progress "proof" behind the paywall is just text reports. If people don't believe his words here, that would hardly change if they see those posts.
At the end of the day, plenty of users seem to trust the project. And if it happens to be all fiction, they'll just drink a cup of fresh water and move on.

There are plenty of pretty pictures too. There's enough there that I feel they're definitely 'working on the game', just maybe not so much 'working towards a demo'. I mean, they ARE working towards a demo, just not a whole lot being said or shown.

True, true. Though it doesn't hurt to warn people if you think they are being scammed. Patreon gives all the power to the creators, they can manipulate their pages any way they like and there's no option to report shady behavior and warn people on the site. Just look at that Impure guy and see what's happening there.

True enough, a fool and his money are soon parted, but that doesn't mean there's no point in discussing it. At the very least it'll create some pressure and encourage some to back out, or just force closure to the development-limbo altogether.

I've wanted to criticize the new rendering style for a while, but I've been distracted.



*The original is far more readable, for gameplay purposes and personal purposes. She is much better distinguished from the background and her face and expressions are easier to read. This is probably also going to be true with the enemies interacting with her - It'll be harder to see what's happening with all those heavy shadows around.

*The original style is also, I imagine, faster to produce. If you're going to creep the scope graphically, I'd rather you do it by adding animation *instead* of adding realism. You can't do both, it'll take way too long.

*The original style is also further from the uncanny valley. You might have to add more to the skin textures and whatever other polish to keep her from looking like plastic, and that's even more time.


But I'll still fap to this either way.
