Probably silly question. But is it actually possible to defeat the TOBF character by gettag?
Its not too silly a question, before he updated/nerfed the big guys they were a massive pain with having permanent super armor. Will say, with certain characters you have to cheese the big guy a bit, for the most part just make sure to block his actual hits/attacks, as the actual pile driver doesn't do too much damage and is escapable without damage if you are ready to twirl that stick some/mash the arrows or whatever keys you use for movement. Same with Doggy, but its much easier to get out of. As for the rest, just kill them before they swarm and they are usually pretty easy.

If its not the actual mechanics of TOBF and some other technical issue, not sure what to tell you there honestly. Hope this helps in any case if you are having trouble beating TOBF, though will say for the most part it can be character specific how easy/hard TOBF is to beat.

Faster characters like Supergirl and Wonder woman will absolutely annihilate TOBF, so yeah. More mobile characters have an easier time at it though. Like hhh7773 said, it was a lot harder before when there wasn't a struggle bar and the big guy/BJ guy could just chain grab you

What i seem to struggle with the most, is that the character I'm fighting as won't always face the right direction, so pulling off attacks can be quite awkward at times. But mobility seems to be the way to go.

Yes. Although its mainly because TOBF dont' have super moves so mashing attack buttons until whatever you're kicking the ass goes down works well. my expertise in Soul calibur/DoA actually helped me here. Be careful of the big guy. He's more tougher than other guys.

This is kind of off topic but is Under Night in Birth in the Fate universe? I just saw that the girl sion with the purple hat won gettag's poll but isn
t she from melty blood?

I think she was something of a guest character in that game, for the most part. Looking forward to what Gettag does with her and Scathach. =)

Btw, one fairly easy way of beating ToBF is using the Kung-Fu Girl. Build up meter and just spam the Kamehameha on the big guys, trying to catch as much of the others in the blast as possible.

Damnnit, was REALLY hoping for DMG, Claire, Starfire, or Scharlachrot (just because she's in mugen_ero's vids). Not a fan of either character, and apparently they got a LOT of votes. Whatever. Not much activity on the sakura content website, and the uploader has, in the last month: one hacked message, Gettag's Orie, a download whose password that literally nobody has been able to crack (and has no description), and loli garbage.

Melty is more from Tsukihime, but no, French Bread made both games and UNiB was originally going to be HD Melty. Also I'm kind of glad she won, Filia might've been hell to make.

Yeah, that's just a bit of a bug I believe, or the best that can be done giving the limitations of MUGEN as an engine possibly. Though, I feel some characters tend to have the issue more than others for some reason, Orie for example can almost never decide which way to face unless there is only one, maybe two enemies left, even then she'll tend to face only one way, while other characters, who do still have this same problem don't have it nearly as bad as Orie, at least in my experience. Still, even with her though, if you mash whatever you would happen to have her auto combo mapped to, or some of her longer reaching buttons, for the most part you should win save for against the big guys. Just attack and when they get super armor, make sure to block their attacks from a decent range, and then attack either with supers or go in for a few attacks and then back up, unless you want to struggle out of a grab, or simply let it happen of course!

Edit: Also, characters with strong mobility or longer normals/buttons do really dominate this character. A big suggestion to try and avoid the switching sides problem as much as possible is to try and gather up all the enemies on one side of the screen by jumping behind a group, or simply killing off characters on one side of the screen as soon as they spawn. Both should cut down on the frustration of having to deal with constantly facing the opposite side to what you might have wanted to face.

So if anyone's interested, I finally got around to getting that old Kuromaru_Strike character's ox helper to work. Rather simple, actually, once I figured out where and how to look. Kuromaru_Strike (and, by extension, KiWolfGirl's Kuromaru_Wolf edit) actually have the corresponding victim animations [8621-8622] within their own animation files, but for some reason they call the invalid sprite group [18230,0-2] instead of the standard doggystyle sprite group [19230,0-2]. Took about two minutes to get a victim working once I figured it out, just add the following two animations to the victim of your choice - assuming they have the standard doggystyle sprite set, that is.
UPDATE: It has come to my attention that the ox helper requires the victim to have animation 18230 to work properly. The animation can be completely blank so long as it's there in the victim's .air file. If your victim of choice doesn't already have it, I've added a simple example to the start of the spoiler below.

Depending on victim sprites, you might need to correct the animation positioning with Fighter Factory's alignment tool. Kuromaru_Strike should be available on mugenarchive, but I can put it up on 4shared if anyone wants. I also have a mirror of KiWolfGirl's Kuromaru_Wolf edit . To summon the ox/giant werewolf, press (c+z) with 3 power (note that pressing (x+y) completely fills _Strike's power bar). The second animation is a "finisher" sequence, and will only activate if the victim's health is below a certain threshold when the first animation finishes. If there's any further interest I can look into the other "unique" stuff that _Strike can do (mostly a couple of attacks stolen from Minotaur, and some sort of "nursery trap" egg implanting instant kill sequence) and figure out the victim compatibility for that.

Oh.. oh I never realised this.. It's kind of old news but with the recent-ish mentions of knotting I figured I should do a short write-up on kuromaru_lite's dog helper here too, and while I was poking at it to check my information I found a few more-or-less unique features I never noticed before. I guess that means I'm doing a full write-up on the dog then, for the four people out there who actually care.

(a+x) summons a dog that rushes forward and, on contact with an opponent, plays a short licking animation that inflicts minor damage and transitions to dog rape if it KOs the victim. The licking animation uses more-or-less standard Minotaur compatibility; animation [36525], (optionally [36526] for "in front" overlay,) defaults to generic damage sprites [5031,10] and [5031,20] if animation not found.

(b+y, costs 1 power) summons a dog that rushes forward and, on contact with an opponent, initiates the dog rape animation. The dog rape animation uses four victim animations that are, as far as I can tell, unique - [19231] for "main" dog rape compatibility, [19234] as an optional "in front" overlay for the main animation, [19232] for knotting compatibility, and [19233] for knotting overlay.

If animation [19231] is not found, dog rape defaults to the standard doggystyle sprite group [19230,0-2] instead. If animation [19232] is not found, dog rape will play the standard ejaculation animation instead of the unique knotting animation. Kuromaru_lite's dog rape does not loop on KO.

Notably, the knotting animation is detected separately from the main animation. If the victim does not have animation [19231], but does have [19232], the main dog rape will default to the standard doggy sprites, and then transition to the knotting animation. The following animation code should give any character with sprite group [19230,0-2] partial compatibility with kuromaru_lite's knotting animation.

Full compatibility requires editing characters on an individual basis so I can't provide any sort of quick fixes for that, but if there's anyone in particular you'd like me to look at, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

_lite was pretty popular at one point, during which time a lot of characters were edited to have special compatibility for several, and in a few cases all, of its unique moves. Most of those unique features have since been rolled into kuromaru_plus/_short/_ero, but the dog knotting animation is, aside from one unfinished edit by KiWolfGirl,* unique. While I was testing and investigating the dog helper I found three characters (Kai, Dizzy, and Konoha) in my own personal MUGEN library with unique animations and sprites specifically for _lite's dog helper, as well as several other specific compatibilities for _lite moves that should still work with _plus/_short/_ero's versions of those moves. The site I originally got them from has been defunct for years, but I could put them up on 4shared easily enough if anyone's interested, and it wouldn't be too difficult to scour my collection for more.

*@KiWolfGirl, I've been meaning to point you at _lite's knotting function ever since I found your kuromaru_knot edit - figure you could either use it as a code base to refine/finish the edit more easily, or just apply your edited sprites directly to _lite. If you didn't know about it already, that is. Sorry it took so long!

There's a kuromaru_lite linked in the first post of the thread, though I haven't personally checked if it's the same one that I have. If it turns out to not have the knotting feature, give me a shout and I'll upload the one I've got.

Oh looool no, my old early werewolf edit :eek: I had one or two victims with that ox-replacement that actually worked and never tested it for mugen 1.0 and above or any other victims! I gave up working on that character when I made a slight better version with Kuromaur_wolfPlus. But again another char that wasnt really meant for mugen 1 and above. Only recently I notice that sometimes when you do the hyper dog summon, it doesn't use the werewolf replacement I edited but instead uses the original futa dog girl and i have no idea why, lol. Thanks for looking into these things but im afraid that when it comes to anything but editing animations, sprites, sounds, then it's all over my head :(
I don't even know how to do explodes or edit victims. I have a lot of plans for certain expansions to kurowolf and kuroknot but i never put enough time into learning how to make a complete character.

I've been trying to add cut-ins and fertilization to Mino (who's been around forever) for quite a while, and someone managed to do it before me on MugenArchive.

Actually looks pretty good; gonna take the code and try to learn in order to try it out on other rapers. Downside is that, for some reason, the colors keep switching from dark and light skins of Mino. I'm trying to disable the palettes in the .def file but apparently the palettes are connected to the Mino's instant H-meter "cheat" (holding Start while selecting Mino), so I'm gonna leave it alone for now. The constant fertilization scene after every H-anim finish is a little strange too, and IMHO the screen can get sorta...crowded with everything happening after a while.

I don't think she is, sadly. It looks like Ikaruga from the Senran Kagura series, though. I've never seen her around anywhere, it's a character i would very much like to get as well.

That's what I figured as well, but I mostly just got hits for the uploader 'Ikaruga', and otherwise, couldn't find anything related to MUGEN. Regardless, I appreciate the quick reply, and perhaps one day she'll be available to download. Who knows, maybe someone else knows something :p

Yeah, no problem. Here's hoping she surfaces eventually. Maybe if the character would be available, people like gettag could get to work on her eventually.

gettag released his/their TOBF update.

there's a few things new that i can notice, ignoring the bug fixes he has added poison with a new standing doggy move which looks pretty fluid but I hope he adjusts a bit more
the camera now has a visible sprite which is a tiny floating kuromaru, and you can make the rapers transparent with the start button

right now I think only the two characters that work with the new poison move are Chun-Li and Kisarah which he posted on his page as well

EDIT: there's also an orie patch, i remembered this looking at dawnstars profile pic

I'm kinda interested in making a personal edit of TOBF with some changed sprites. Does anyone know how to disable automatic spawning of enemies? You can spawn them yourself so I don't see the point of them always spawning automatically when you can just set it to AI.
