Re: Comprehensive patreon list

nope because at a regular job you work for a firm or company(like me):)
Where you get paid by a stranger.

Are you telling me that you know, on a personal level, you know the person who writes your checks and the head of the company?

As in you know their;
-hobbies
-interests
-family members
-upbringing/what they majored in in college
-favorite foods
-political viewpoints
-religious viewpoints
-favorite sports teams

And you've hung out with them at least a good 50+ times?

Cause if no, then they're basically still strangers to you, at best, acquaintances.

getting pay from your boss by bank check or Bank Transfer (or cash)
at the end/beginning of a month or weekly by contractual agreement,:)
A contractual agreement that can be broken at any time for any reason by your employer if they so wish in 90% of countries in the world. No job is secure.

not by a thousand of strangers you never met personally,
and pay you over cc or paypal for no reason every month:(
What do you call the people who pay the business you work at? Do you think the money for your business just comes out of thin air? No, people either buy their products or use their services.

AKA, "thousands of strangers you've never met personally" are indirectly paying your wages.

And people pay you in return for a reward or expected outcome of the product; this is actually a *direct* payment for services rendered because you're cutting out the middleman.

In an office job, random strangers pay *your company* money for services and so forth, and then you do your own services for your company which enables that product to be output, at some distant level of influence.

thad patreon shit is not a job:mad:
(its just some kind of creepy internet welfare)
What do you call "a job" then? From the dictionary:
"anything a person is expected or obliged to do; duty; responsibility:"
"a piece of work, especially a specific task done as part of the routine of one's occupation or for an agreed price:"

By that definition, Patreon fits the definition of a job perfectly.

they also say its to supporting poor artist on their site so it's clearly more of a welfare project than anything else

(that guy on the founders pic with the full beard and cap even looks like a homeless)
Yes, and I suppose "a normal job" has nothing to do with supporting people who have no income, right? People who have "normal jobs" don't need the income from their regular job, right? lol wow

Also lol @ judging people by beard length

C'mon, if you're gonna troll, try harder than this. You literally just destroyed your own argument by presenting it, lol.

God, it never ceases to amaze me the amount of uneducated, frivolous bigotry you spew out of your mouth whenever you show up in a topic, especially one regarding Patreon. If you've got such a massive problem with it, which you've made very clear over the entirety of this forum, then why give yourself a headache by showing up here and ranting about how fuckin' horrible your life is compared to all of these people who get to do what they love for a living? Sounds to me like you're sore that they have a creative, enjoyable source of income unlike your day job, so get off your ass and find a job you love doing instead of bitching about them like an entitled little twat.

Side note, thanks Datanony for the shoutout. :)

Re: Comprehensive patreon list

1. the guy from my company's personnel department is responsible for my payment, (he also makes up my employment contract)
and i to know him predy good his life is almost as boring as mine and he has 2 sisters a smal and a big one, and he's a jew,:)
i don't know my company head managers personally taught, but i see them sometimes

my job is also breaty secure (as long i'm always been punctuality and work my time)
reliability, and punctuality paying off:)

2. you're right about that a business needs customers its logic,;)
but they only pay once or over time by sales contracts and they're not always the same peoples
and they're always get what they are pay for (at least in my business):)

unlike thad patreon stuff:mad:
(they are also not actually paying their youst pledge) if you see at their sites:(

3. regular or daily work are jobs, patreon is not, on their site is also nothing about jobs search for yourself it's youst all about pledging and suporting artist welfare, by giving them money over long time, that has nothing to do with a real job:mad:

4. and yes you can judging people by beard length,
you look at all these isis terrorist and muslims, also Orthodox jews or streets living homeless:)

Was never late to one of my jobs, outperformed everyone in my division as well as did more work than some of the people above me even, almost singlehandedly saved the project along with two other really skilled employees, and never once bragged about it or asked for special treatment as such.

Got fired at the end of the project and asked never to come back. Why? The guys above me felt threatened by my work ethic.

Your job's never secure, lol.

but they only pay once or over time by sales contracts and they're not always the same peoples

All companies sell products with at least some defects in them time to time. Additionally, only paying once for a product?

Cable? Internet? Phones? Cars? Food?
And upkeep of things like clothes (washing them), your house (cleaning it), so forth?

And yes, they're the same people. Who would go to a different company every time they wanted to renew their internet?

3. regular or daily work are jobs, patreon is not, on their site is also nothing about jobs search for yourself it's youst all about pledging and suporting artist welfare, by giving them money over long time, that has nothing to do with a real job:mad:
So you think we don't work daily on our projects? I'm putting in 16 hour workdays on my projects, and I'm sure the other Patreon owners here are working their ass off on stuff as well.

Additionally, giving people money over a long period of time? Wait, isn't that just like...

Cable? Internet? Phones? Cars? Food?

(Plus I guess all freelancers, athletes, property sales, advisors of any kind, therapists of any kind, and teachers aren't considered to be doing "real jobs" since they don't do their work daily, lol)

4. and yes you can judging people by beard length,
you look at all these isis terrorist and muslims, also Orthodox jews or streets living homeless:)
Riiiight, let your supervisor at work that pays your bills how much you think of "jews" and "homelessness", I'm sure that'll go over well with him.

Look, you have a boring life, but that's no reason to assume everyone else who DOESN'T have a boring life and is doing creative things with their time isn't worthy of time/money.

I did office jobs too, then I realized I could do something more with my life, so I set out to do this stuff. You can do it too, instead of complaining, try actually DOING something to change your life.

didn't you mention in your game thread that you lost your job because your company was bankrupt:confused:

also a advice dont over work without asking for a salary increase for promotion
otherwise you youst looks like a nerd poser (nobody likes nerds)

i also only work at weekends for the extra money:)
it's a boring job:(

my dream job would be to be a pornstar so i can fuck as many hot dark tanned sluts with big boobs as i can and getting paid for it:D
(maybe making some battle fuck movies to)
but i guess i'm too ugly for that:(

Cable? Internet? Phones? Cars? Food?
And upkeep of things like clothes (washing them), your house (cleaning it), so forth?
And yes, they're the same people. Who would go to a different company

boats?wepons?clothes?construction?weddings?burials?fast/Food?oil?
there so many companies and business not to mentions rival firms and companies with lower prices:)

(Plus I guess all freelancers, athletes, property sales, advisors of any kind, therapists of any kind, and teachers aren't considered to be doing "real jobs" since they don't do their work daily, lol)
freelancing, or mercenary is no real job that's may be right
teachers are working for schools so its a real job
professional athletes and property sales having a company behind them so its a job to
advisors and therapists could work at witness or wellness clubs, hotels to

Riiiight, let your supervisor at work that pays your bills how much you think of "jews" and "homelessness", I'm sure that'll go over well with him.
nope that's because i'm anonym internet pervert nobody here knows my real identity, and i'm sure not telling it:D

anyway this conversation between you and me seems kinda to private so i think we should continuing
it by sending pms this thread is not the right place:)

so the artist and patrons can keep begging for monthly pledging:)

Re: Comprehensive patreon list

Thanks for putting together this list. I agree that with crowdfunding, the more attention the better. I personally want to see all projects successful, because I want to play the games! Patreon is giving English h-games a bit of a growth spurt, and I love it! :D

Also, thank you so much for mentioning my game Neocon1. Although, I think the "prophet" business is a bit over the top ;). I have not even produced a game yet... I do, really hope to give you guys a translation AND chapter 1 of Aylia's Story this month, so here is to hoping for an awesome February.

P.S. Anonymous, trolling is pathetic. It's obvious that you're jealous. We get it. If you want to stop working at your factory (or whatever), then get off your ass and create a game. I mean, this Patreon business is not "work" apparently.

freelancing, or mercenary is no real job that's may be right
teachers are working for schools so its a real job
professional athletes and property sales having a company behind them so its a job to
advisors and therapists could work at witness or wellness clubs, hotels to
-Teachers get 3 months off a year
-Professional athletes train all year, but only actually do things that get them money (as in, play in their sport of choice) very few days out of the year in general
-Property sales only get paid if they sell, and generally don't get hourly wages, so they're even more like freelancers than anything else, according to your description of "a real job"
-Advisors/therapists never get 40 hours a week straight of clients, ever

So yeah, again, think your stuff through before actually posting an argument lol

anyway this conversation between you and me seems kinda to private so i think we should continuing
it by sending pms this thread is not the right place:)
Nah, I'd rather work on my stuff; I also don't want to ruin this thread anymore than it already has been, unfortunately, so I apologize to the thread creator for that.

Re: Comprehensive patreon list

If I got all of them feel free to post experiences WITH THE PROJECTS IN THE OP, might add it to main post to entice more people at first glance.

Am I doing it right?

Re: Comprehensive patreon list

Its mainly to boost posting and recognition shhhhhhhh
You should probably add in giant bold Underlined flashing letters to keep your personal butt hurt feelings of patreon out of it. Just so we don't have more people like Mr. McFuckNuggets bitching about how people make their money and how other people choose to spend theirs.

Here's another one, it's mostly text generated with a little sprite sex mixed in. The author puts out free monthly chapter releases.

Experiences with Patreon or with the content creators?

If you mean Patreon, my experience with them is not so good, they will not accept my credit card for no apparent reason (although I can still accept payments as a creator). And their policy on that is "Oh well, too bad. Nothing we can do.". So I can't help any creators I would like to, can't subscribe to their content, etc.

Re: Comprehensive patreon list

The only patreon I'm supporting right now is Yummytiger. If you want to add the reasons for that, I've got a few:

1: This is the most important one, and it's that he's asking for money only per 'major update', and not by month. For this reason, I can pledge to give him money basically as soon as I start to see a product. If I don't like what he calls a 'major update', I can withdraw my pledge. Despite any other work, I wouldn't support a patreon without this.

2: The game so far is a) well drawn b) funny c) immersive. It has to be a good project on it's own to get support.

3: He's very active around the forums and the patreon page. Though I may pirate games like everyone else here, I only feel bad about doing it when the developers take time to show up and discuss things with us. (Other examples of this are Azurezero, dot_slave, Kyrieu and UrielmanX7.)

Side note: I don't want to derail the thread talking about it further, but I have trouble believing Anonymous is a functioning member of society with his view on what these people are creating. The way you're talking about these projects makes me feel that you wouldn't support ANY artist, musician, entrepeneur or craftsman. Pull your head out of the 1950s American Dream (Source: History Major) and realize that the world thrives off of people working outside the 9-5 cubicle jobs.

TL;DR list:

I support Yummytiger's patreon because:
1: It runs per major update instead of monthly
2: The game has good art, and an interesting and funny storyline so far
3: The developer takes time to show up and chat with the community.

This is the person who is doing grrl power.

the demo is in the second link. I fell in love with his style years ago. There is a old stable build of his game with space pirates and other debauchery a good forshadow for when he finishes grrl power 2

Oh and thanks Meh65 great idea starting this thread!
