Re: Tower Descent

Thankfully seemed the duo settled down... though with the girl calling out the woman lie, Yuna hardly believed that was the way out... or if there even was one to begin with! "Come on. Let's go find Zana." the girl extended a hand to Lilian who'd take and stand up "Thanks Yuna." Lilian smiled to her.

The fiery brawler most certainly had quite the heroic spirit in her, one contagious enough to quell the doubts that began to eat away at Lilians heart. For better or worse she'd descend the tower and find her little sister.

On the brawlers side, Yuna had considered just leaving... though both Zana and Lilian needed her help. There was no doubt even more people trapped in this accursed place... and Yuna was hardly the kind of girl to resist throwing a crazed racoon in a badguys carefully laid plan.

As everything in the inn had taken place Zana had left for one of the backroom, searching the place for any noteworthy secrets, items or rooms... one of which she most certainly managed to find "Ah-ha~" while this library was a farcry to the fabled Archmage collection under their Hosts command. It would certainly provide quite a bit of insight on what they could find or face down below. Preparation was always the first step to success... and survival.

Re: Tower Descent

With Zana settling down to look over the journals it would be some time before Yuna and Lillian managed to find her. By that time Zana had gone threw a few of them already. The first few she had found where pathetically short their owners not even passing the second floor. She did learn that the second floor was called the Mournful wood and was host to beasts and the undead. The next journal she found was most promising though it was written in a strange script that would take her some time to decipher but it seemed to be the longest running journal she had found. Other than that the only one of note she found belonged to a duelist name Emily...

Re: Tower Descent

Zana had fair experience in rapidly reading through lines upon lines of text, especially with these journals there were only certain key-points that interested. Traps, enemies, environment and perhaps even musing regarding survival.

While Zana recognised most of the enemies they'd have to face, some journals seemed to mention creatures that had very little similarity to what even the witch knew of! Unfortunately those which were more useful, were either barely legible making the witch decypher the text... or written in quite aged language that took some time to properly translate.

Either way, one of the journals especially stood out. Perhaps less due to it's potential uses and more due to its owner... 'Emily.' Zana looked over the journal and flipped it open with her magic, this time reading these pages with a bit more care... no doubt numerous Emilys had fallen here, though the witch had a suspicion that this girl was not just another stranger.

Re: Tower Descent

Looking threw the journal Zana soon found it to be rather new. At first it simple started with her arrival in the tower. It seemed she was tricked into going by the promise of doing something her sister Lillian had yet to accomplish. The wording seemed very competitive and upbeat with no lack of confidence. Though as she kept reading tone changed slowly and the competitive tone it had in the beginning had faded to one of survival. This left little doubt too whom this belonged to. Zana's thoughts however where interrupted by Yuna sneezing as she entered the dusty room.

Re: Tower Descent

"I'd advise not raising dust here. Seems librarians are not interesting enough to keep for our host." Zana spoke up playfully, closing the book and look to the duo enter.

"So that's where you went!" Yuna beamed a smile at witch, with Lilian following her in shortly after "A library? Here?" "Ah~ I would say it's more of a collection of memoirs unfortunately. Hardly anything stand out." the witch smiled casually and stood up from her, semi-seated position on the table. Numerous books resting behind her.

"Sounds like we'll have quite the entertaining visit here. Though as long as we stay here, we're free to rest as we please." she'd suddenly float one of the newer looking journals to Lilian, not saying a word about it "Shall we go rest for the night?" Zana asked looking to the duo.

Each of the girls had reasons to seek rest and some time to rest, thus hardly anyone objected to the idea. Lilian however, would see little sleep as she'd read the journals owner and look to Zana with wide eyes "I believe this should be in your possession." the witch smiled slyly, but seemed hardly to require thanks for the found gift.

Reunited the trio could head out and take an individual room each, even if Zanas offer to share rooms quickly adorned Yuna with a blush, the fiesty brawler would blushingly and cutely slip into a separate room as well.

Re: Tower Descent

With the trio mostly settled and pursing their own diversions before sleep the party could finally rest. Zana alone in her room could finally examine the full damage wrought on her body from her confrontation with the transformative power of the Dark Goddess. Indeed it had been a hard won battle of will and while in the end she succeeded she was hardly unscathed. Meanwhile Lillian read her sisters journal finding her joys and fears and her eventual desire to surpass her. That desire had made her easy prey for this damned tower and its master. Of course her desire to save her little sister had landed her in the same boat as it were. Yuna meanwhile retired to her room her thoughts her own. She was about to give up the easy way out in order to help Lillian find her sister. Was it what she truly wanted? What about her friends back at the inn. They had to have missed her by now? Still with their own thoughts and fears swirling in their heads sleep caught them all.

Yuna was the first to awake the smell of eggs, sausage, fried potato and other breakfast foods wafted threw her door. Leaving her little room she made her way to the inn proper to find it well lit for a change. Blinking at the sudden brightness Yuna had to gasp above them where giant windows looking up into the sky. White clouds floated above her and even the birds graced over the windows.

Surprisingly Zana was up next the busty witch making her way into the common room to the same sight as Yuna, though the witch looked about for someone rather than something. In her gaze she saw the same goblin merchant setting up his wares in his little booth, and the stout dwarf innkeep. Deliah was no where to be found but her table was still present. The Neko bartender seemed to be the one serving breakfast as the bar had a small sign that said closed on it.

Next out of her room was Lillian her night having been longer than the others. First off she had read her sisters journal way into the night and had found what her sisters over all plan was. It did put a spring in her step but the plan was reckless and foolhardy just like her sisters usual plans. Other than that she had a hard time sleeping as her dreams where quite lewd and vivid.

Re: Tower Descent

Each girl headed off to their own individual room...

Yuna would enter inside the quite snug and comfy looking place, heading directly to the bed and jumping on it. Her hands spread out on either side as she rested... An escape from here? What would happen to Lilian, Zana and heck even Emily if she did so. The girl would look to the ceiling in thought, finally having a moment to get her thoughts in order. Somehow, while there were hints at an easy way out... Yuna just couldn't take it. She was never one to abbandon anyone!

Zana would slip inside her room and look around, while it was hardly the luxury she'd prefer it would have to do. If anything, this place was absolutely safe. A little brief respite provided by their host. Still as Zana stripped out of her clothes, she'd catch glympse of herself in the mirror... The witch approached the mirror and look over her body, the Dark Goddess had certainly left it's mark. Pure black subtle tattoos or in this case markings had appeared on her. While she quelled the Dark Goddess touch for now... a gods magic was not so easily dismissed or purged...

Lilian entered her room holding the journal dearly and looked around, locking her door behind her the girl placed her heavy weapons aside and slipped out her armor with fair relief. Her mirror too showed her body, though unlike Zanas far more lewd measurements and dark tattoos... Lilians seemed to bear a fair number of markings from her battles. From beast claws to blades and arrows... Still the girls attention was only on one object - Emilys journal! Wasting little time the girl would take the journal and open it up, reading intently and smiling as she could almost hear Emilys voice as she read...

The morning would come soon after as Yuna was the first one to wake and head on downstairs. Yawning and stretching with a smile, the girl bid the three a good morning "So~ Breakfast is on our hosts tab right?" she'd ask playfully.

Zana was the second one to come downstairs, her steps far more elegant than Yunas relaxed manner. Though upon seeing the brawler, the witch couldn't help, but slip behind her and whisper to her ear "Morning~" the lusty tone, sending a jolt through the girls body as Yuna quickly turned around to see Zana leaned forward subtly with her supreme bust not-as-subtly on display "H-hey, Zana!" Yuna blushed cutely and quickly looked away, much to Zanas delight.

The third one to arrive was Lilian, who likely slept the least... though more troubling was just what she dreamed of. Restless nights were unfortunately quite common to her, yet this night her dreams were not of battle, but of something else entirely! "Morning you two." Lilian would greet her companions and nod to them firmly, seemed Zana was playing around with Yuna again.

Still the trio would share the table as they'd all sit down "So did you find anything else in that library?" Lilian would turn to Zana, who'd smirk confidently and share what she learned of the following floor.

Re: Tower Descent

With all three gathered another Neko waitress approached. She looked similar to the barkeep but younger. She would of course take their orders letting them know that food was free as per order of the Tower Master. The bar contents were not however. Also she would inform them that their one free night had passed and they would have to get a token from the innkeep if they wanted to stay.

Resolving that the girls got to business. Zana quickly told them that the next floor was a mystical forest. This almost immediately brought a confused question from Yuna forcing Zana to explain that this place was only a called a tower for simplicity. In reality its several pocket realms stacked on-top of each other like pancakes. With that explained Zana informed them that the foes they would likely face where bestially in nature. Wolves, spiders, bear, and such. Though there was mention of undead and some bandits. It was hard to tell how many enemies drifted threw each plane.

Re: Tower Descent

"But... how can there be sky outside?" Yuna blinked, much to a giggle and a light boop on her nose from Zana "Don't overthink it. Consider each floor it's own unique snippet of a world." to say Yuna hardly knew much of magic would've been an understatement... she'd just have to take Zanas word for it.

Lilian meanwhile considered something else entirely "And how big can each floor be?" she'd ask as Zana enjoyed what seemed to be a strawberry cocktail? Spurring a casual shrug and smile from the witch. Only a part of magic could ever be even attempted to be explained fully.

Still as the trio finished their meal "So~ Shall we?" Zana asked first, seemingly the most eager to continue, quickly followed by Lilians nod and Yunas... brief pause "Yeah... lets do it." the brawler smiled, she had decided yesterday that she could hardly call herself a heroine if she just bailed from danger and adventure!

With that all three were ready to continue their descend down the tower.

Re: Tower Descent

As they moved to the entrance the old dwarf stopped them. "Now Lasses I want to tell you that if you leave threw that door your committing to stay in the tower till victory or defeat. If any of you want to leave now is the time just say the word and it will be done. I can send you to where the Tower took you from. I can only do it now though while the magic of this place has yet to solidify its hold on you.

All three woman looked at each other and nodded telling the innkeep no thanks. Frowning the man nodded and handed each an inn token. "Good luck girls." With their inn token taken the girls stepped into yet another swirling portal into a misty vegetation choked wood. All around them massive tree's reached to the heavens blocking most of the sunlight from them bathing them almost in twilight. A slight breeze brushed threw the trees causing the ancient woods to moan from the strain. Behind them was a small ruined cabin.

Re: Tower Descent

"Well... no going back now." Yuna smiled to the duo, spurring snicker from Zana and a nod from Lilian. Thankfully this time the area was... slightly more pleasant thanthe graveyard woods "So I take it we find the exit and descend down deeper in? Until we finally exit this gods-forsaken place?" Lilian fixed up her shield and tightened her grip on her blade as she asked "More or less..." Zana answered with a smile.

Though Yuna was keeping her eyes locked on the cottage nearby "Lets check in there, maybe there's someone alive to give us hints!" she'd beam a smile as the trio would head over to investigate.

Re: Tower Descent

"Lets stick together. We're not certain what we're facing here. If you see anything call out, don't go off and investigate on your own." Lilian called out to the group, having failed their cottage search. Unfortunately it seemed long since looted and hardly of any use, besides perhaps shelter from the elements.

With that the trio would spread out with a feet or two distance between one another, well withing sight and hearing distance. While Lilian seemed ever focused, Zana and Yuna seemed to quite enjoy the scenery as well!

Welcome Hero's to the Mournful Wood. Here many a hope and dream lay discarded in the forest floor or lost to webs of the Nyx.

Spreading out in a careful manner the trio managed to cover some good ground with Lillian spotting a gleaming golden charm on her path. Looking it over though revealed it to be broken and useless for its intended purpose. However it was still worth some coin. As the moved on Lillian and the others felt a chill breeze causing the trees to moan once more.

Re: Tower Descent

Web... Yuna blinked... wait spiders?! The very thought seemed to send goosebumps up the girls body. Otherwise, the booming voice seemed to only sharpen Lilians gaze and seemed to almost slip past Zana entirely as she once again just floated on her staff. One hand on it and the other on her quite large hat.

Still without much less, except the charm to sell. The girls could continue their search through the gloomy forest.

Mana mote

As the girls searched they seemed to find little other than vegetation and long dead vines. It seemed the most danger this place posed was death by boredom. Not giving up just yet the girls soon spotted a faint blue glowing orb. Reaching it Zana realized that it was a mana mote.

Re: Tower Descent

Well the girls would certainly not mind a relaxing stroll through the woods. Heck the more floors like this the better! Still they'd at least find items dropped by others, who had passed through here! The only real magic user among their group Zana would keep the mote with her. Crushing the brilliant blue orb would prove quite an effective way to regain mana... if ever need be.

"Strange... Where are all the beasts?" Lilian commented, spurring a shush from Yuna! "Shu-shush! Don't jinx it. Maybe we can slip away without our host sending anything our way." she'd giggle playfully.

"I told you not to jinx it..." Yuna looked wryly at the sheer number of wolves! Even Zana seemed to get off her staff with a little curious concern in her expression... though Lilian only tightened her stance! "Keep close and don't draw too many towards you. Try to wittle down their numbers together!"

Indeed amassing and bearing through their assault would not work this time. Especially with the wolves agility... they'd first need to bear through the wolf assault, before attempting a counter-attack!

Drawing close together Zana began casting her healing spell expecting for her companions to get hurt. Still channeling such healing magic left her open. Thankfully her mystic shield blocked one attack entirely while the second one by passed it and scratched her. Unfortunately for the wolf the wound seemed to heal soon afterwards thanks to the magic Zana was channeling. Meanwhile Lillian bounced one wolf off her shield only to be hit by the other dead on stumbling her back. Still she regained her footing enough to strike her first attack and block the next leaping wolf. Meanwhile Yuna took revenge for Lillian and with a quick flurry of kicks dispatched one of her attackers. This sadly left her slightly off balance to the attacks heading her way though all of them only added up to some slight damage.
