Xara's comments initially earned her a slightly odd look from the peddler, but it wasn't long at all before the old lady took it in stride and looked upon the clever girl with more amusement than anything. "Ooh, yes, quite the skeptical one, aren't you..." She apparently wasn't about to be stopped this easily, however, not by this young stranger. "The dowsing pendant is difficult to use, hence the lowered price. There aren't many underground springs in the desert, of course, so you may travel for miles and miles still before finally coming across one, not to mention all of the digging; so it's mostly just a guide to bring you to potential riches. A very effective guide, mind you, but only that nonetheless. Ufufufu..."

Moving on to the bunnygirl's inquiries about the other objects, she went to each of them, one at a time. "I did specify 'for a short time' with regards to the oasis, so remember that the user will return no matter what. And the slippers, well, they only cause plants to grow when one is wearing them, and steps upon soil or sand."

Her grin gradually widened. "If you believe my stories to be false, as many do, at first anyway, then... why don't you give them a try?" Picking up the slippers, she seemed confident enough to hand them to Xara in an invitation to put her claims to the test. The woman's eyes seemed to sparkle, as if anticipating some kind of reaction from the potential customer.

Depending on whether or not the thief would take her up on this offer, she'd go on to address her last question. "Ah, why yes... funny you should ask." She reached back to rummage through a large sack that was kept behind the dealing table, then produced a small, pink vial. "This balm, when applied to your lips, is guaranteed to charm the person you kiss with it--they'll practically be your personal slave for at least a day or two. So, if a cute young thing like yourself can manage to close the distance... ho ho, how wonderful it could be. Now, unlike my other items, I can't be handing out many samples of this for obvious reasons, especially due to its rarity and potency. Your line of work... you seem pretty enough--perhaps a tower girl? You're sure to get repeat customers with this potent mixture, mmm." In the land of Jadiram, tower girls were high-class prostitutes, affordable only by the richest of nobles. A rather prestigious job, as it was. To be referred to as one was largely considered a compliment rather than an insult.

All in all, the saleswoman seemed pleased with her own answers to Xara's well-chosen questions. "So, were there any of these you'd like to try before you purchase them? You are free to, if only once for certain, consumable items such as the balm."

A worthy opponent! The bunnygirl smiled as the merchant made her counter claims. That wasn't to say that such artifacts didn't exist, of course. With mages around you'd have to be crazy to believe that there weren't such possibilities. A small shop simply didn't seem the place for such things.

"I never said they were false, miss shopkeeper," just thought. "I'm just trying to make a careful decision about what to do with my hard-earned gold!" She suggested cheerfully. The woman had done well, though, she had covered any doubts with simple, easy to believe reasons as to why she wouldn't be utilizing the things herself. She had done so well that it left only two possibilities: the artifacts were either the genuine thing or the woman was a prodigious liar, and Xara wasn't ready to accept the first quite yet.

"And I'm a performer of another sort, no private audiences, I don't know how well that would work." The void rabbit continued to eye the balm, intrigued. "But it doesn't affect the wearer?" She asked the question with no shortage of curiosity. "How long would a sample last?" Might be a fun thing to test out on a few people. "And how much is it?"

In truth, she was buying time as she tried to decide which would be the easiest to try and name herself the victor of what she was still sure was their little lie-off. If the woman had offered trials, she obviously had some trick up her sleeve. Mages probably had some spell or other that allowed them to cause grass or anything else to grow in small patches, so the woman might be able to produce such an effect even without the slippers being legitimate. The flask's supposed effect would probably be markedly harder, on the other hand, and the bunnygirl was genuinely curious...

"Can I try the flask?" She asked once the shopkeeper was finished answering her questions. If she received a yes, she would beckon over Safiya. "Hey big sis, she says that this transports people to an oasis. Hold my hand, I want to see what happens!" Xara suggested excitedly. If her 'big sister' accepted her request and she was handed said flask, she would whistle into it and see what happened.

"Mm, of course! With water being at the forefront of needs here in Jadiram--no, Deun as a whole, many people are unwilling to part with their gold so easily, and for reasons most understandable," the lady replied in a more sympathetic tone. There was nothing quite like a reflection on the sad state of things to which every Deunic citizen could relate, in order to further help break the ice, and the elderly clerk did not hesitate to resort to such subjects in order to soften her potential customers up.

"Oh, so a street performer, then? Well, you've certainly come to the right city for that. As for this charming balm, it is made from the musk of the rare Ghaniyah cat, a creature with a hypnotic bite said to only attach itself to one other companion. Likewise, the substance will 'bind' to your scent within a few days' time, making you the only one truly immune to its effects." Despite her stories getting more and more far-fetched as she went on, the lady still managed to keep a straight face when explaining them. That, or she was actually telling the truth here; it was difficult for Safiya or Yasmin to even tell whether the shopkeeper was lying or not, regardless of her bold claims, which did say a lot about her abilities as a saleswoman, if nothing else. "While there isn't a large amount of it, it is indeed effective, ah... I'd put it at about 40 gold."

The merchant remained cool even to the bunnygirl's next inquiry, that is, until Xara suggested that Safiya come along for the ride. "W-Wait, I mean... For you to take another person into the secret oasis, it's not so easy. Both of you will have to blow into the flask at the same time!" The urgency in her voice may have given away that there was indeed some sort of 'trick' to this little relic, but the lady would continue to insist that they do so, to which Safiya shrugged and agreed, placing her mouth over the lip of the odd, amber-colored flask, directly across from Xara's. In this position, they were close enough to kiss, and probably would have if someone from the crowd so much as bumped Safiya forward. The realization of this caused the bunnygirl's 'big sister' to blush noticeably. Even with these specific directions being followed, she did bother to grab the Void rabbit's hand before they began.

"Ready? One, two... whfffff..."

As they whistled in unison, a sweet-smelling fume rose from within the flask, just enough to be taken in by the two girls, and soon enough Xara would find her vision swirling away, with her surroundings, save for Safiya, seemingly warping into varied colors and other nonsensical imagery, like a really bad high. Luckily, this wouldn't last longer than half a minute or so, when her sight cleared back up to reveal the gently rolling surface of a vast, almost endless blue sea. It was as if she was reduced to the size of an insect, and placed upon a large oasis, with water as far as the eye could see. Beside her was Safiya, equally as stunned to be presented with this new environment, and the two of them would look down to see themselves sitting in a small wooden dinghy, the diminuitive boat the only thing keeping them from a death by drowning or a fate of being devoured by whatever may be lurking beneath.

After the moment of shocked silence had passed, Safiya looked to Xara, still reeling from disbelief. "I-I guess she wasn't kidding, huh...?" she said with a shrug, finding two oars and a small bucket in the boat. "So what are we even supposed to do here? There's practically... nothing at all. Except water... I still can't believe this." Grabbing the wooden pail by its handle, she dipped it into the water and brought it back up, sampling the taste. "It's fresh. Definitely the kind of stuff you'd want to sell... this is crazy!"

Her eyes lit up. "If this could be brought back to Jadiram, somehow, then imagine the possibilities... no more water-based despotism, no more power-abusing water mages having a monopoly on everything. Everything can change!"

It took her a few more seconds to calm down, but when she did, the blonde one slumped her shoulders when the reality of the situation finally hit her. "Though I'm sure a means to do this wouldn't be sold for so cheap if this was all real, huh... not for 40 gold, anyway."

Regardless, she took the opportunity to take another swig of the water in the bucket, which seemed refreshing enough from the lighter face she made afterwards, then offered it to Xara. The two didn't remain alone for long, however, as several skiffs could be seen coming from the horizon. These small boats, topped with rather large sails, were moving incredibly fast for whatever reason; their pilots didn't appear to be using any kind of oars, and the winds around the two girls seemed too calm to be able to push any ship that fast. However, their sails were still puffed out as if a powerful gale was moving them along, and the remnants of that wind would brush past Xara's ears by the time these vessels arrived, surrounding the tiny dinghy in moments before Safiya could steer it away in any meaningful direction, not that there was one. All in all, there were three boats, two people on each, now close enough for them to board the tiny little boat that the pair sat in.

Upon taking a closer look, she would see that the men steering these odd sailboats were largely wrapped in shrouds, or at least the top and bottom parts of their heads were. In a way, they resembled bandits that anyone would see in Deun, except that the visible parts of their faces were extremely pale, uncharacteristic of practically anyone living in the desert. Red eyes peered through the slits in their makeshift headwraps, and from the way they drew and brandished their weapons; scimitars, cudgels, short lances and other such armaments, they weren't there to rescue the two beauties, but rather rob or abduct them, or worse. Safiya frowned at this, reaching a hand into her robes to ready her throwing knives. "She never mentioned anything about this..."

Enemies:
6 Bandits

Environmental Penalty:
Movement is severely limited, with immediate footing left to that of a dinghy and three 10-foot skiffs, unless Xara or Safiya decide to jump into the water.

If they had dallied a little longer, it wouldn't have necessarily taken a bump from a stranger in order to turn their shared whistle into a kiss. The void rabbit had to muster up her willpower in order to keep her eyes on the prize of disproving the merchant's claims. That remained the case even as the flask reacted and did exactly what they had been told it would do. While her shock and disappointment that the curio shop owner's words seemed to be true was not immediately evident as they were transported, she most certainly had both. Xara was initially struck speechless when she realized what had transpired. By that point she was beginning to wonder if she wasn't just being stubborn in her disbelief.

The thief remained silent as her big sister spoke. She remained silent but not still. Xara leaned over the side of the boat, even as Safiya fetched some water for herself, and dipped her hand into the water up to her wrist. She pulled it back to find that her hand was truly wet. Small droplets of the liquid clung to her skin and ran down her forearm. The coolness of the water felt good on her heated skin. When the muscled beauty offered her some in the pail she drank that down too. Xara was almost visibly disappointed as the water proved completely capable of slaking her thirst.

"There's no way," the bunnygirl finaly vocally denied the situation. "Nobody just sells something like this without a catch or a hidden danger. If they did, somebody would have solved the water problems a long time ago!" Her line of thought would be cut short by the arrival of three more ships. For a brief, irrational moment she was almost relieved to see the inhuman eyes and armed bandits. "See! Nobody just sells super cool and useful stuff without a downside! I knew it!" Of course, when it occurred to Xara that the downside was currently arming itself to rob or do worse to her at that very moment, her feeling of triumph soured. "Aw, crap."

The bunnygirl quickly unwound her meteor hammer from her body and got both heads to spinning, one overhead and one to her side, preparing to repel the bandits. It was time to put that time she had spent learning how to wield the exotic weapon to work against an actual threat instead of an overconfident merchant, that way she could go back and disprove the curio shop owner's claims. "Hey, big sis, we probably should try not to do anything fatal to these things, just in case this is a hallucination and we're really beating up Yasmin and the curio shop lady or something," she commented as an afterthought, just in case.

Whirling Death + Scissor Defense!

Upon being hit or grappled, Xara automatically strikes back with both of her weapons! Both have the following stats:
Attack: +56 = 52 [Base] - 4 [Attacking with two weapons] + 8 [Whirling Death]
Damage: 1d8 + 25 = 21 [Base] - 4 [Attacking with two weapons] + 8 [Whirling Death] (Switched to whips. I'll update her character sheet later)

Probably Applicable Stats (Whirling Death, Scissor Defense, Lucky): 21 Armor, 33 Dodge, 23 Resistance, 43 Grapple, 31 Perception.

Cheat Sheet

When taking HP Damage: Xara has 1 armor from Clothes (TP = 25, DU = 2). When she's reduced to 27 HP or lower, she takes an instance of weakened causing a -10 penalty to all of her rolls.

When dealing PP damage: Xara deals +2 PP damage during penetrative sex. She deals half of PP damage dealt in corruption (whether you want this to happen is up to you, Takimaru, since it's the DLaby universe.)
When taking PP damage: She takes +4 damage from sensitive, and another +8 damage for each of the following fetishes being fulfilled: cumming inside, exhibitionism, public use, or size difference. On an orgasm, her PP resets to 21 instead of full.

Has Fertile: Pregnant on roll of 2, 3, or 4. Or automatically with another fertile partner.
Has Pheromones: Others more interested in sex with her.
Has Night Eyes: No perception penalties in the dark.
Has Nose for Treasure: +12 perception rolls when it comes to finding treasure.
Has Thief: Can disarm traps and pick locks.
Has Lucky: +3 to all non damage rolls.

VICTOLY!

"Right," Safiya said firmly in response to her partner's suggestion, though it was clear by now that her focus had shifted quickly onto their attackers. The three boats surrounding them appeared to have a common arrangement of one pilot and one passenger, the latter of which immediately made moves to board the smaller craft, concentrating their attack on Xara in unison. Wisely, Safiya shifted to one edge of the dinghy and dropped low as the bunnygirl began her deadly dance, which had been made an even greater challenge by the steady rocking of the platform beneath her, a motion she was hardly used to, being a desert dweller. But even this minor handicap didn't prove to be too much of an obstacle for the nimble Void Rabbit as she continued her defensive whirl, the heads of her exotic weapon orbiting her in a practiced motion. For whatever reason, the boarders focused their efforts on Xara, though this ultimately proved to be a mistake on their part.

Her first attacker, a spear-wielder, was bold enough to leap at her mid-attack, and he lost this gamble, only grazing her with the tip of his polearm as one of the meteor heads blindsided him, nailing him from the side and sending him hurtling into the water. While the counterattack didn't prove itself to be immediately lethal, the strange man was clearly unconscious, though this successful counterattack didn't frighten Xara's second and third attackers, who had practically coordinated their assault and were already moving to strike at her simultaneously. Even then, the cudgel-wielding bandit's horizontal swing was thwarted by another quick movement from the bunnygirl that sent the second steel head of her weapon arcing upwards from below, catching him in what would be an equivalent to a knockout uppercut. It sent him flying back and dropping halfway onto one of the skiffs like a ragdoll, proving Xara's unique defense to be most effective. The only chink in her proverbial armor would be exposed by the last attacker, a larger man with a scimitar, whose furious swipes proved a bit more difficult for the girl to deal with. One even managed to nick her arm, though a short strike from the Void Rabbit's exotic weapon, made by gripping higher up on the rope, finally caught her most dangerous foe on the chin, putting him out, and the brigand fell backwards, joining his cohort in the water.

Safiya remained crouched the whole time at the other end of the boat, so as to avoid being a casualty to Xara's unique weapon, but she was far from idle, turning her attention to the three pilots of the pirate skiffs, who had drawn their own blades, preparing to board next. However, they didn't make it too far, only barely managing to reach Xara's position as Safiya sent an expertly thrown dagger towards each man's peripheral areas so as to avoid being fatal. One pilot found his weapon arm suddenly rendered useless, while another screamed out in pain as a throwing knife pinned his foot to his raft, keeping him from advancing onto the dinghy. The last one took it in the groin, and crumpled up into a ball soon afterwards. "GYAAAAAAAAAH!"

"Uh... whoops."

By the time the skirmish had concluded, Xara and Safiya remained largely unharmed, while the same could hardly be said for their assailants. However, the men were still alive, at the very least, now at the mercy of the two thieves.

Re: A Thief's Oasis (Hafnium) GMed by Takimaru

Using her training proved to be exciting to the void rabbit. By the time it was all done she was inordinately glad that the style the old man had taught her had been as effective in practice as it had in theory, even if it had been the first time she'd used her skills against armed and ready humans, or at least human-ish opponents. The whirling noises of her exotic weapons in her ears, the realization that there was no place to retreat to, and the minor panic set upon her by needing to use those weapons against a group that quite obviously intended to hurt her and Safiya was a combination that had her heart pounding. Those three factors and her heat had her heart racing and her adrenaline pumping.

With her excitement now very much in control of her body, she proclaimed her next words to the very heavens. "Hiyaaa! We're the most butt kicking-est thieves in all of Deun!" What followed next was a display exercised by that same adrenaline rush's control over her body. Without a thought, she grabbed Safiya by the shoulders, stood on her tip toes, and pulled her into a kiss. If the toned thief allowed it to, she would even slip her tongue into the other woman's mouth. If Xara was allowed the freedom, it would progress for several minutes before she managed to reassert control over herself. Regardless, when it ended she would pull away confusedly. "U-uh... Whoops..." The void rabbit then went quiet, allowing things to drift into awkward silence unless her 'big sister' were to speak up about the incident.

If Safiya did end up remaining silent, however, Xara would eventually try to break that silence. "W-we should probably check these guys. Unmask them and see if they have faces and stuff. Take any valuables as a failed robbery tax." And she would quickly set about doing just that as a means of avoiding the topic. She would start with trying to fish the men all into the same boat and then setting about unmasking and looting their goods in turn.

At Xara's proclamation, Safiya grinned, replying, "Well, yeah! But are we even in Deun right now? I mean, mmph--"

Her eyes widened as the bunnygirl wrapped her arms around her and engaged her in an unexpectedly deep kiss. The well-toned beauty froze up, stiff as a board, clearly having been caught off-guard by the motion, a deep shade of red filling her tanned cheeks in seconds. Still, despite her initial shock towards the situation, Safiya offered little to no resistance, her lips parting just enough for the smaller girl's tongue to slip right in and get a taste of her 'big sister'. The blonde's eyes fluttered half-closed after a moment while their lips were still locked, and Xara could feel Safiya giving way to her passionate gesture, with the taller thief's knees nearly buckling beneath her. However, the short-haired beauty's sturdy frame held fast, allowing her to stay upright during the exchange of lip and tonguework. "Mmmm... nnhh..." As the reality of what was actually happening began to sink in, Safiya looked to be surrendering herself, releasing a soft moan beneath the kiss and giving the lustful Void Rabbit a clear impression of her willingness to have this moment between them. When the kiss did end, a look of longing lingered in her eyes, though she was still stunned for the most part, only able to stare at Xara for the next few seconds.

".... Uuhhhm... o-oh, uh, r...right," stuttered Safiya, swallowing hard upon the change of subject, then proceeded to round the injured bandits up. She couldn't help but take a few prolonged glances at Xara as she worked, but said nothing more of the event for the most part, roughly searching the unconscious men while shoving the others onto one boat; the pale-skinned beings had little choice but to comply given their poor conditions. Underneath their masks, they looked like any other man, except with not a single hair upon their heads or faces, and of course the odd complexions adding to their uniqueness. The last two conscious ones, who had been disabled thanks to Safiya's throwing knives, mumbled amongst themselves, exchanging glances every now and then. A sharp look from the short-haired blonde silenced them.

"Don't even think about trying anything funny," spat Safiya.

The search produced a bit of gold, as well as some of the weapons that hadn't sunk into the water. Naturally, these were kept separate from the brigands, who were now tied together with the scarves that once wrapped their heads, thanks to Safiya's handiwork.

"That should do it," she proclaimed proudly before looking over to Xara, though she could barely hold that look for more than a second, averting her gaze elsewhere in time. "So... we gonna take one of their boats? Seems a lot better than what we started in." She hopped into one of them, surveying the interior, then moved to the helm and grabbed it, giving a test steer to the left and to the right.

"Wonder how they made these things go. Hmm... it's not like there are any really favorable winds around here. But there are sails... and some weird crystals embedded near the steering wheel. Maybe they need someone to focus energy through them, or something? I don't know a whole lot about magic."

A few chuckles could be heard from the last two brigands that were still awake, though when Safiya turned to look at them, narrowing her eyes, they tried their best to deflect their subdued laughter into coughs and then silence.

Re: A Thief's Oasis (Hafnium) GMed by Takimaru

A bit of heavy lifting and much easier and more satisfying looting later and the bunnygirl was panting, wobbly, and desperately in need of some water. She took care of that need in short order. The void rabbit dipped the pail into the water and then upended it over her lips in order to drink from some of the seemingly endless reserve, spilling about half of it down her front in the process. She finally let it down with a gasp for air, realizing that she'd just had a small taste of what it must have felt like to be a water mage in Deun, not needing to conserve her water. "Whew, that was hard work. Not a bad haul! Though I prefer not to mug people... Then again, I guess they started it so is it really mugging them? It's like a reverse-mugging. Huh." Her mouth began to move faster than her thoughts. On the bright side, she had managed to forget about the awkward kiss for at least a few moments on the back of their situation and the work.

"Well, anyway, gonna go ahead and keep all these weapons." She rewound her meteor hammer and stashed the stiletto and scimitar on her improvised belt. She then picked up the cudgel and boarded one of the other boats. Without fanfare, she began to mercilessly hammer at the sides of the boat with the cudgel. It wasn't quite as easy as she had expected to sink the thing. It must have taken tens of minutes of bludgeoning to do the damage necessary to create a hole. Even when the hole had been created, sinking apparently wasn't a very fast process. Still, she continued onto a second of the boats. Once it was in the same condition, she returned to Safiya and the bandits.

"So! Creepy creeper guys! There are two boats left! Obviously, neither of our groups wants to share a boat with the other. I figure you can either tell us how that one works so we can get out of your... non-hair, or I can try to make that one work like I just tried on those other two. And if I accidentally break it like I did the others then there will be only one boat left and as you're gentlemen I'll have to insist that you take the one you came in on!"

"Oh! Good idea," remarked Safiya before following suit with the water that was... well, all around them, and taking a good drink while she could, either using the pail after her partner was done with it, or cupping it up into her hands. The blonde proved not immune to thirst as well, letting a bit of it spill down her chin and neck in excess while gulping down as much as possible. Afterwards, she even unclasped the waterskin from her belt before filling it up with the fresh water, determined to make the most of this unique opportunity. "Aaaahh... must be nice for you guys, never getting thirsty like this," she muttered towards the restrained brigands, then turned to Xara. Their eyes would meet, but then Safiya's would turn away before long as she tried her best to keep her tone casual. "Yeah... I mean, if it's a greedy merchant, then I can't bring myself to feel as bad for them, but these guys pretty much asked for it, so."

The brigands, or at least, the pair of them that were still coherent, both looked at each other, at first seeming to chuckle when the diminuitive bunnygirl picked up the cudgel and proceeded to hammer it repeatedly into one of their seacrafts. However, as the Void Rabbit's persistence in such an endeavor began to show, with the loud cracking sound of wood eventually ringing through the area, growing panic became evident in their widening eyes. "W-Wait, uh... don't! We'll tell you. It doesn't... d-doesn't actually need any magic. You just... put your finger on the blue crystal and focus on it to accelerate. D... do the same for the red one to slow down. Your friend looks like she knows how to handle the steering, so... at least leave one for us!" Despite his strange, rather eerie appearance, his voice sounded as gruff and throaty as any other ruffian in Deun.

"I'll believe it after I've tried it," replied Safiya sharply, who found some spare rope upon one of the vessels and added a second layer to the pirates' bindings, then hopped back aboard one of the last two skiffs. "Let's see here..." She began to finger the gems embedded in the dashboard curiously, then after finding the blue one, took a deep breath, and simply concentrated.

"Kyaaaaaaaaaaaah!"

The boat she stood upon suddenly lunged forward, its sails suddenly full with wind for no readily explicable reason, and Safiya was speeding off with it, away from Xara, before she even realized what was happening. It wasn't long before she managed to grab the helm, however, and within moments, she rushed back towards Xara's position, managing to come to a gradual stop, though her brow was beaded with nervous sweat upon her return. "T...That was intense. I... think I have it figured out now. Eheh..."

"That's super helpful of you! I'm glad I didn't have to try to figure out the third one on my own. I can be so clumsy!" Xara stated cheerfully once Safiya had completed her test run and confirmed the bandit's words to be the truth. The bunnygirl was incredibly glad to see the toned thief show some prowess in steering the thing back. As a desert dweller, the short thief had never exactly become a proficient swimmer. Every second she spent in the water and managed to keep herself from drowning was a miracle from the heavens.

"This one will cover the boat trade tax," she said as placed the cudgel in the boat that her ally had taken. She continued as she did the same with the short spear, "this is for the bald tax." Finally, she transferred everything else that wasn't attached to the boats or the bandits off of it save for one oar. "And that covers the creeper tax!" Her imaginary taxes inflicted, the bunnygirl then patted herself down to confirm that the eighty gold was still on her person along with the stiletto and scimitar. With all business involving the bandits concluded, she hopped aboard the magical vessel, leaving all six bandits on the only remaining water-ready craft: the dinghy. "Enjoy the boat! It's a classic! Try not to fall out or anything!"

Armed with their new boat, she turned to Safiya. The bunnygirl spoke in her usual cheerful tone, the recent martial thrills enough to combat her more voidic inspired ones for the time being, though she avoided meeting her 'big sister's' eyes. "Well, I'm guessing we're not going to be poofed home anytime soon. And I wouldn't trust any of those guys for safe directions, especially since I forgot to ask until I took everything they owned. What do you say we steer for the sun? Oh, wait... Okay, how about that horizon?" Xara pointed excitedly in the direction that the boat was already facing. "That's where all the best adventures happen! Probably!"

If Safiya accepted her insanely half-baked plan, Xara would do the only sane thing to do in her situation. She would take up a spot at the front of the ship and strike a heroic pose, drawing her ill-gained scimitar and pointing it forward in order to shout "Onward!"

Take everything they have! And the pail too! Leave them on the dinghy. Then speed off in a random direction! This can't possibly end poorly! Yay!

"Boat trade tax?!" exclaimed one of the bandits in protest. While Xara's previous handling of their weaponry earned her no protests from them before, her one by one listing of their equipment, as well as the supposed reasons behind such appropriations, seemed to finally get her some retorts. "What's a bald tax?" asked the other, utterly confused as to what she meant, as if they spoke a version of the Deunic language that lacked such a word. They began to grumble amongst themselves, exchanging glances through those peculiar red eyes of theirs, before being shoved into the smallest boat of them all. That caused the only conscious pirates' complaints to cease, at least for a few seconds, before such protests turned into desperate pleas. Safiya would have little of it though, smacking both of the bound men unconscious before moving back to the freshest vessel, upon which most of the weapons were stored thanks to the Void rabbit's efforts. The other two skiffs had small puddles formed in them by now, though from the looks of it, only an hour or so more--if that--would see them completely sunk.

"Y-Yeah, I guess we better make the most of it while we're here, huh? Of this... little trip, or hallucination, or... whatever it is," said Safiya, also doing her part to avoid direct eye contact. Doing so, however, made it at least somewhat easier for the blonde beauty to continue talking to her 'little sister' in a more casual tone. "Well, it uh, eheh, looks like you're the navigator. Now let's hope this thing listens to me the whole way, huh? Alright... let's seeeee..." she trailed off, taking the helm. "Oh, gotcha. This one." Placing a finger on the blue gem, the taller thief focused, and in an instant, the ship propelled itself forward, sending the girls speeding towards parts unknown.

They cruised, easily, over what felt like an endless oasis, with water as far as the eye could see. Here, there was no sun visible in the sky, but merely a bright, orange light coming from the horizon, like a perpetual dawn of sorts, keeping them from the dark. For girls who had only known desert their entire lives, it was beautiful in its own way, as strange as it was, to have such an endless abundance of water, a source of light that didn't threaten dehydration or heatstroke, and of course, a vehicle with which they could explore this odd world at great speeds. A trail of white ripples lingered behind the skiff, giving a vague point of reference to where they had been, but not much beyond that. If Xara were to look upon Safiya's face, she'd see a look of wonder, likely one matching her own, even as the toned beauty continued to drive them towards the horizon.

~~~~~
After almost half an hour of travel, they came upon what appeared to be a collection of floating, man-made platforms, constructed from wood, metal, and other unidentifiable materials... almost an entire 'city' of them, all linked with rickety walkways. They stretched out in no particular order, though most routes looked to lead towards a bustling center, like a giant spider web of sorts. It looked rather easy for the two to board just about anywhere, especially with the numerous docking anchors strewn about. However, a closer look would reveal that this floating, constructed community wasn't inhabited by just anyone, but by numerous scarf-wearing figures... bandits that looked just like the ones they had dispatched earlier. The two hadn't quite earned the attention of the few wandering around just yet, seeing as they were piloting what was probably a recognizable craft to the pale-skinned men. Still, if Xara didn't choose to move on in an attempt to find a 'safer' community, she had plenty of options at her disposal in terms of nearby attractions. The first was a visible shipyard of sorts at one end of the complex, which had various boats of all shapes and sizes, all with sails. The second was a collection of sparsely populated shacks, which didn't look to have many inhabitants within, from what the bunnygirl could see, given the various cracks and open spaces in them. The third was a large warehouse--it was a wonder how the thing stayed afloat, but it was there.
"This must be what the afterlife is like," the bunnygirl commented once her heroic pose had grown boring. She sheathed her scimitar and returned to the middle of the boat. "No worrying about whether or not we'll have water to drink tomorrow. I wonder if there are fish to eat." The various denizens of the sea were practically a delicacy for Xara, given how rarely she had them. The void rabbit peered over the side of the boat as if to find the answer to her pondering, though she crouched and ensured that everything below her neck was firmly anchored on the boat in fear that she might go overboard otherwise. I wonder if my mom and dad went to a place like this, she idly wondered as she tried to peer through the veritable ocean.
Growing bored of her search, she flopped onto her back and stared at the sky. "Seems like it would get boring quickly floating around with nothing to do. Maybe this is what they mean by that saying about too much of a good thing not being a good thing." That position quickly grew boring too, so she stood up almost as soon as she had flopped. Then she spied the floating buildings. The seasoned thief in her told her that the risk wouldn't be worth the reward, especially as she hadn't stolen a disguise. The greed in her told her that there some easily attained loot available. And since it was probably all an illusion anyway and, more importantly, she was bored...
"Hey, big sis? Think you can take us near the really big warehouse? Preferably a less populated point. I just want to check it out. If anyone spots us we can sail off."
At first glance, there was little for Xara to see in the water, even after a few seconds of peering into the depths of this strange, otherworldly oasis. All she'd see was a deep blue tint to the fathoms below, and of course, the steady waves moving outwards from the skiff. Before she could give up on her curiosity-fueled search, however, she caught some movement out of the corner of her eye, and the glint of silver scales briefly flitted in, then out, simply as if to notify her that she wasn't completely alone in this odd lake, ocean, or whatever it was. The sky wasn't much better, carrying only a minimal breeze and no birds, at least not ones in their relative proximity.
Coming across the odd network of floating buildings and walkways caused Safiya to cringe a little bit, and though Xara couldn't easily see her big sister's face from where she was sitting, she could definitely tell that the well-built blonde was surprised, either by the floating structure itself or something about it. After seeing enough of the familiar-looking bandits wandering about, she had to comment. "Yeesh... this doesn't exactly look like a friendly neighborhood, does it? At the very least, maybe we can find a better boat or something. I uh, gotta admit, being used to stealing water all these years and suddenly not feeling like doing that anymore is pretty, um... pretty surreal." She seemed just slightly less awkward in her speech now, though the nerves hadn't gone away completely. The way the taller thief talked was less characteristic of her usual, casual manner and more like the ramblings of someone who was intentionally trying to make conversation.
However the new point of interest did help alleviate this strange situation. Safiya looked back to the void bunny briefly upon receiving the request, then gave her a nod before turning back around. "Alright, we'll at least check it out. Let's hope I can make some proper distance. Going around thiiiiis way..."
~~~~~

The large warehouse had two entrances. One was a doorway the size of most seen in Jadiram, a little over 2 meters in clearance, that could easily be accessed by the walkways stretching out from all around. Just one man stood guard nearby, although he was holding a long, thick weapon that didn't look immediately recognizable to the bunnygirl.

The second appeared to be something of a cargo door, facing the water and large enough for a skiff to fit through. But this wasn't unattended by any means. A boat slightly larger than the one Xara and Safiya used was docked halfway in the larger entrance, and some activity could be made out from within. Roughly three of the shrouded bandits were loading something onto it... a series of wooden chests. Furthermore, the slight jingle of coin could be heard as they were lowered into the boat. While these entrances were across from each other, some stacks of crates within the warehouse itself kept one from being able to see through the building to the other side, which in turn seemed to keep the trio of men on the ocean end from easily communicating with the guard in the front. Still, they were a fair distance away, and a speedy approach or a hasty retreat were both reasonable options from where the girls were scouting.

"Nobody ever leaves their neat stuff completely unguarded, do they?" The bunnygirl quietly whined as she surveyed the guards. "It's not even really worth getting off the boat to check things out with that setup." The short thief collapsed onto her rear, sitting cross-legged.

Her boredom was far from quelled and she still had no idea how long it would be until they were returned home, if at all. Beyond that, the group that she suspected was responsible for the bandit attack on Safiya and her, if not responsible for dragging gullible people into the flask assuming it wasn't a hallucination, had a building full of shiny things that she probably couldn't pilfer. The jingling of the chests being loaded all but confirmed her sinking suspicion that the bandits had all sorts of pocket-able loot that she might take back to her own world locked away in that secure warehouse that they would be shipping out...

Wait a second. If they were moving the chests onto a boat, that solved several of her problems. It meant that there was probably another such location on the water. It also meant that the cargo located on that boat would be far more vulnerable for a short period of time than they would be in the warehouse. Finally, it would give her a chance to question a set of bandits, steal a few disguises, and otherwise rectify her mistakes with the first group. "Hey, big sis, let's try to hide the boat from view until those guys sail," she suggested, nodding toward the bandits loading the boat. "Then, once they're a ways out, we can follow to ask them for directions and, uh, borrow some gold for the trip, right? Maybe a few other things if they're so generous." The bunnygirl was downright excited as she made her suggestion, largely managing to forget the awkward moment with Safiya for the time being as she began to daydream about what might be on board.

She wasn't usually one to resort to such an aggressive robbery, but in that case it seemed like a win-win. If it was a hallucination or the curio shop lady wasn't a fraud, they'd be pulled out eventually anyway. If it wasn't, they might find some answers from the bandits.

"Course not," replied Safiya. "People who have all the wealth will go to great lengths to keep that special status of theirs, so it's really no surprise..." she added, halfway in thought, though she did stop herself before going into another one of her usual rants. She steered the boat around one corner, behind the cover of an empty, floating shack barely connected to the others by way of a long, wooden walkway. Hitting the red 'button' and concentrating for just a moment, the tanned beauty then brought it to a stop, letting it float on the gentle current for a while as they watched the bandits pile the precious cargo onto their ship. Thus far, despite the pair's lack of disguises, they hadn't appeared to arouse much suspicion just yet. "But geez, I still haven't quite gotten over all of the water here. The one thing I'd look to steal first, maybe just out of instinct, and go figure, it's pretty pointless here. You'd almost think they'd be trying to hoard dirt, or sand, or... something, instead."

The metallic clinking made by the chests was at least enough to put away any suspicions that the shrouded albinos were actually loading dirt onto their vessel, which was likely a relief for the clever bunnygirl. "Well... at least they still use gold, from the sounds of it. Had it been dirt as their currency, anyone from Deun could come here and be filthy rich, huh?" Safiya went on, somewhat nervously. Upon taking a closer look inside, they would see that several figures, darker in skin tone than the bandits themselves, were chained up, helping to deliver the large wooden containers from deeper in the storehouse. The toned thief frowned, folding her arms. "Damn them... I'm sure it's the same case here as in Jadiram. These guys rob others for their gold, hoard it away, oppress the have-nots... Even though this world is one made of water and ours is mostly sand, I guess the two aren't so different in the end."

Before long, the boat was fully stocked, carrying at least six to eight chests from the looks of it. Still, it managed to stay afloat without a problem, and before they left, one more bandit from the warehouse hopped in, making a total of four men on board, including the pilot. With that, they headed off, sailing at a steady speed with the same oarless method that Safiya and Xara's hijacked craft used, though not quite as fast, either due to the ship's larger size or the amount of cargo it held. Seeing this, the short-haired thief nodded, saying, "Right, let's get after them." Placing her finger on the blue crystal, she took a deep breath and propelled the skiff forward, keeping a relatively safe distance until the other boat was a good ways from port. After a few minutes of trailing, she sped up, moving behind and just slightly to the left of the other craft. "Alright, here we go... once I get closer maybe you can--Kyaaah!"

*THUNK*

Safiya managed to move to the side just in time as a large harpoon came sailing towards her. Though it missed its intended target, its tip buried itself in the wooden floor near the dash. "Oh, that's it," remarked the blonde angrily before grabbing the helm once more and speeding up even further until they were neck and neck, side by side with the bandits, all of whom, minus the one driving, took up weapons in alarm. Worse, a bit of water began to spray out from the hole made by the thrown weapon. Safiya glanced at it momentarily, then back to Xara. "Board 'em and take 'em out! I gotta drive, so uh... I'll... I'll think of something," she ordered firmly, trying to sound as reassuring as possible towards the end. "Maybe after beating them down, you can just... come back for me. We don't have a lot of time. I'll be fine. Hurry!"

The bunnygirl chose to let Safiya's comments pass in silence. Her 'big sister's' heart was certainly in the right place and the short thief was as disgusted as Safiya when the slaves became visible. But it was hard to try to agree, disagree, or even discuss the topic with the toned woman when her own thoughts were turning increasingly toward bringing her four new companions and herself into the haves without much concern for what happened to anyone else.

She was almost happy for the distraction provided by the movement of the other boat. The bunnygirl took up a position near the head of their own craft, unraveling her meteor hammer from her waist and allowing the scimitar and stiletto to clatter to the deck. "Let's collect a slaving tax from them!" She responded cheerfully as the boat began to pull up to the side of their mark. Before she could even begin to assume that their latest target would be as easy as the first bandits, though, a harpoon whizzed past her. "Wah!" Xara cried out as she went diving for cover out of instinct. When she finally dared to raise her head and look toward the impact and realized that it had almost impaled her sister, she cried out for a different reason. "Are you okay, big sis?"

Safiya's indignant anger at the attempt to skewer her was a relief, at least. But then they had bigger problems on their hand in the form of the water rushing through the hole created by the harpoon. The bunnygirl's mind raced at the ensuing realizations. If someone wasn't touching the blue crystal then the boat would stop moving. If the boat stopped moving then they would lose the other craft and be left sinking in the ocean. But whoever remained on the boat might end up sinking before the other could procure the new craft. Unless...

As soon as Safiya gave the word, the void rabbit sprang into action. Her meteor hammer chain surely wouldn't comfortably reach between the masts of the boats, but it would work for what she needed it for. The short girl placed her left hand just below one of the heads of her dual meteor hammer, dropped the other onto the boat, and knelt briefly to scoop up the stiletto in her newly freed right hand. With her preparations complete, she placed one foot firmly onto the edge of the boat. "Stay up as long as you can, big sis, I won't leave you behind!"

But springing into action was easier said than done. Two boats, both moving at their full speeds, on an veritable ocean was quite the daunting challenge to a desert dweller. Her sister was counting on her, though, and if she didn't at least try then they would both quickly become well acquainted with the water beneath them. Just think of it as jumping from building to building, I've done that before. Less than a handful of times, sure, but it was better than nothing and time was ticking away. Slightly reassured and with one deep breath for courage, she went leaping across.

If she made it, she would try to hit the deck in a manner that would carry her sliding toward the mast on her knees. The first bandit who was unfortunate enough to stand in her way would be the target of a desperate stiletto thrust aimed at their knee. Her next target wasn't a person, but the mast or any other thing that she might wrap the head of the meteor hammer that she still held around. She quickly securing her exotic weapon's chain around whatever she found. With any luck, it would act as an anchor so that Safiya could grab onto the head which had been left on the sinking craft and hold on. If she succeeded in the first part of her plan to save the blonde, she would cry out to her 'big sister'; "Grab onto the chain!"

Xara attempts to board the other boat and uses Sudden Strike and 20:20 defensive fighting against the nearest bandit during said boarding, if any are in-between the mast and her. Then she moves toward anything that she might be able to wrap her meteor hammer around so that Safiya can escape ye sinking ship and hold on.

The attack is using 20:20 defensive fighting and sudden strike with the stiletto.

Attack: +23 = 40 [Base] + 3 [Lucky] - 20
Damage: 2d6 + 20 = 20 [Base]
Makes a sneak check at 32 vs the bandit, on a success it's an automatic hit and deals double damage.

Probably Applicable Stats (Defensive Fighting, Sudden Strike): 21 Armor, 53 Dodge, 23 Resistance, 43 Grapple, 31 Perception.

Xara's Sudden Strike vs. Bandit A:
Stealth Check: Success
Damage: 40 base + ... yep, no more adventuring for him.

Bandit B's Attack vs. Xara: Miss
Bandit C's Attack vs. Xara: Miss

"Uhh... a-alright, just hurry!" answered Safiya, looking back and forth between the other boat and Xara's hasty improvisations with the meteor hammer. She gave an odd look at the bunnygirl's actions at first, but ended up saying nothing about it, opting to simply trust her partner instead despite the high-stress situation. Once she saw that the smaller thief had left one of the heads of her exotic weapon behind, with the other in hand, she blinked, understanding at least part of the plan by this setup, and moved in closer, so as to help facilitate a successful landing. Still, it didn't completely remove the nerves that came along with such a high-risk maneuver, nor the adrenaline rush that came over Xara when she did make that jump.

The Void Rabbit landed on her knees, skidding to a stop, and already she could feel the chain of her meteor hammer waving from side to side as it straightened to its limit. One of the bandits was ready for her, his scimitar raised with both hands overhead. Xara could hear the loud whoosh made from its descent as she rolled out of the way just in time. The blade cut deeply into the deck, though this particular boat was reinforced well enough to prevent another worrisome hole. With his weapon stuck, the shrouded man struggled to pull it out, in turn buying the petite thief the time needed to fasten the other end of her weapon to the mast. But while she had the time, she didn't have quite enough chain to comfortably fasten her meteor hammer to it, and two of the other brigands were already upon her. The first, wielding a short spear, overcommitted to his attack upon the diminuitive bunnygirl, and wound up sailing past as she dodged him with the chain still in hand. He stumbled forward into his partner, the scimitar-wielder that had missed Xara just moments earlier. Growling at his stubborn weapon, the ruffian mustered every last drop of strength to free his blade, doing so just in time to face an inadvertent tackle by his clumsy teammate. The pair crashed into a few of the heavy chests on board, making a sound that suggested severe pain on their end.

With those two taken care of by way of a few well-timed shifts and rolls, Xara was left with one last attacker, who brandished a short axe-like weapon. He was quick with it, and the bunnygirl was left with little space to clown him like she did the others. She did, however, jam his overhead swing with the chain in hand, and spotting the opening down below, pierced his knee sideways with the stiletto, causing the man to cry out in pain and fall back, clutching his leg. And with that, Xara felt the slack on the chain increase, only to see Safiya pushing against the larger boat with her own. Making a simple, quick loop, she fastened her weapon onto the mast, and just a second later, the pilot steering the larger boat made a sharp turn to the left, causing the smaller skiff to butt out of the way, shedding splinters as it was left behind. Safiya's figure went flying, though Xara noticed that she was gripping the other end of her meteor hammer.

Like a failing kite, she sailed through the air for only a short while, suspended by the length of chain, before landing in the water behind the speeding ship. Although she hit the water's surface pretty hard, the well-built woman wasn't keen to let go. She likely couldn't hold on for too much longer, however, and being dragged across the water like she was didn't look particularly comfortable, as told by the grimace upon her soaked face. The pilot, taking a glance behind him, sought to make it even worse for Safiya by placing his finger on the blue crystal located on the dash and focusing. Xara could feel the ship gradually speeding up.

Fueled by the adrenaline of the situation, the void rabbit was able to avoid thinking too hard about any of the attacks which might have dismembered her or otherwise gored her if they had connected. The short thief did wince slightly as she jammed the stiletto into his knee, but didn't dwell on it too much. Better him than her or her big sister. She managed to loop the chain of her meteor hammer, using the head as a weight with which to secure it, just in time to watch Safiya propelled out of the boat. Her sense of relief at seeing the toned woman holding onto the other end of her hammer was immediately dampened as she realized it wouldn't stay that way for long, especially as the boat accelerated.

With only moments to act, Xara didn't have time to come up with a grand plan. But she was so panicked she wouldn't have even if there had been, terrified by the idea that her 'big sister' might perish on the waves. Beyond that panic, there was an obvious problem, the pilot was causing the boat to pick up speed, and an obvious solution, the pilot needed to be incapacitated. She retrieved the stiletto and sprinted toward the man, struggling to keep her footing as the craft sped across the waves. The bunnygirl didn't bother to try to pick out a nonlethal target as she came into range of him. He had to be stopped right away, no matter the cost, or her big sister might die. With a shout of frustration she tried to drive the tip of her weapon directly into his belly.

Xara moves toward the pilot and attempts to disembowel him! If successful, she will probably be due an eventual breakdown at realizing that she's just intentionally murdered someone! Also, she'll press the red gem and try to bring the boat to a stop so that Safiya will have a chance to climb the chain.

Xara felt some slight resistance when she the tip of her blade first met the unsuspecting man's stomach, but only for a fraction of a second. As she continued to drive it home, it went in rather quickly, and the brigand stumbled back with a grunt of pain, a dark red spot spreading from where he was stabbed. All in all, it was actually somewhat... easy. He had no idea she was coming, nor could he mount much of an offense of his own, unlike the other bandits. Through crimson eyes he looked up at her weakly, the man's breathing growing heavy, his strength sapped from the mind-numbing pain caused by the bunnygirl's assault. But more importantly, he was out of the way, and the helm was free for the taking.

A few pushes upon the blue gem did little until Xara remembered that she had to focus upon it; and it didn't take much, really. Just a tinge of concentration, and suddenly, the boat came to a stop. She could hear gasping noises behind her, and would soon realize that it was Safiya trying not to drown as she steadily pulled herself along the rest of the chain. Normally she'd stay afloat without an issue, but the thief's apparent panic worked against her. Despite that, her well-toned body proved to be her savior in this case as she was still able to make it onto the boat before having any serious trouble. Once she did, she coughed up a bit of water, heaving for air on her hands and knees.

"Kuh... kuhkk! Gah... hahh, hahh, ughh... t-thanks, Xara. That was only mildly terrifying." The beautiful thief was absolutely soaked, and she wiped her face before coughing a few more times in her body's attempt to get the rest of the water out from her airway. "G-Guh... wow, I never thought I'd actually be AFRAID of water in this sense."

While the blonde recovered, Xara heard another set of groans to her left; the two pirates who had attacked her (and failed miserably) from earlier. They had finally started to regain their bearings, but they were still on the stunned side, bearing wobbly legs, and really, at the Voidic thief's mercy. It was up to her whether she wanted to push them overboard or take a more merciful approach.

Re: A Thief's Oasis (Hafnium) GMed by Takimaru

The petite thief stared at the bandit with wide, blank eyes as his lifeblood ran from the hole she had punched in his stomach. Somehow, she managed to find the presence of mind to wonder which was more shocking: the fact that she had probably killed him or the thought of how easy it had been. The bunnygirl stood stunned, going over that question again and again in her head while clutching the weapon she had done the deed with, until she recalled why she had done it. Xara was quick to press the crystal once she remembered that Safiya was in dire straits, abandoning the stiletto she had buried in the pilot.

It was hard to keep herself from thinking that she might be a murderer, though. She had never wanted to do anything like that. Oh, sure, she stole, she lied, she cheated, she had even beaten up a few people, but never plainly killed someone. He might have been a bandit, a slaver, and bald, but what if he had little weird-looking pale kids or something? Xara might have just made them all orphans.

The worst part, to her, might have been that the situation still felt so surreal that she still felt like she might wake up at any minute. Or that the bunnygirl found it a little too easy to put the bleeding man at the back of her mind, almost forgetting him, when she turned away from him to look at her 'big sister' as the athletic woman climbed aboard. She breathed a soft sigh of regret and sorrow and, most of all, relief. "I'm glad you're okay, big sis, I don't know what I would have done if something had happened to you," she replied, missing large chunks of what Safiya had said in her near catatonic state. It felt as if she had been drained of all her emotion, but she was sincere. The short thief ignored her desire to wrap her arms around the toned blonde in a hug and sob for a bit in order to instead collect her meteor hammer.

"You two," she addressed the remaining men with even less emotion than she had been able to offer her fellow thief. "What's on this ship? Where was it headed? If you give us an answer and follow our orders, you'll be allowed to live."
