Heading North, the meklots bouncing on Quetz shoulder and between Tiras breasts, the group continues across the plains. Nothing rises to challenge them as they travel, however, as they pass through a patch of trees, the sound of a womans giggling can be heard from all directions, and the group can see female figures flitting through the woods, Nymphs. They would likely respond if one of the group members called out, but the group could just as easily pass through the trees without bothering them and move on.
To the North, East, and North east lay the full forest, the shadows under its wooded bows growing long as the day drags on. To the West lay more hills bordering the lone peak to the South.

Well, no more avoiding the forest. I propose we change to going directly North-East towards our destination and avoid the nymphs. We shouldn't waste time on idle battles. Quetz suggests

Seeing Tira, Quetz moves over and catches her shoulder with on hand before turning the woman around to face Quetz. No, no, no Tira. We want to get to our destination ahead of any support the light is sending. You can play with them after this is through. Quetz says, emphasizing her point by bopping Tira on the nose with her finger each time she says no.

(They're non-hostile, for the moment at least. They still haven't noticed the party. So for its 3 votes for advance and one vote for attract attention.)

The group continues of through the forest, traveling for some time uneventfully. The sun begins to get low in the sky, and suddenly the air is filled with howls all around. A dozen howls from the surrounding woods in all directions herd the group into the middle of a lonely glade. In the center, twenty feet in any direction lies thick forest, the path forward leading directly North and the path back leading directly South. The howls grow louder, and in a moment whatever is approaching the group will be upon them. The two meklots traveling with the group, one on Quetz shoulder and the other between Tiras breasts, quiver in apparent fear.

Then she shouts out a single unintelligible word ╙┴╕═╠ and lets soil and stone flow up around her as a light form of armor.

It's not long before the howls are practically on top of the group, who now stand practically back to back in the clearing, near a dead tree. Soon a dozen creatures emerge from the woods, snarling with spittle slathering from their mouths. They looks like some kind of large dog, only with large bulbous black eyes and black skin, and no fur or hair of any kind. They seem to be covered in little nubs, though the cornered group members see several of them reach out from the creatures main body and wave around for a second as they approach. Whatever they are, they're clearly hostile, as they slowly circle the group of women.
One of them is larger than the others, apparently the leader, and it faces off directly with Quetz, glaring her right in the eyes, its head almost level with hers.

╙┴╧╔╚ Quetz says looking straight into the eyes of the beast as vines start to crawl up her armor and the soil from earlier as a third layer of protection. I do not fear you creature. She says staring back as she waits for the beast to come to her.
