Mortema would look up and laugh a bit as Deva described the process of forced avatarization as being 'impossible', her laugh echoing in the same strange way as her words. "Impossible? You'll find all sorts of things that should be 'impossible' if you keep up this pointless struggle against Her and Her agents. Such supposed 'Laws' of reality are mere suggestions before our powers... And so we can simply shrug them off as though they were nothing. This form... I won't be in this form forever, but it will be more than enough to defeat all of you and destroy that pathetic human city... You, like all others will kneel before me and beg my forgiveness once I am done with you." She would declare, knocking her hand into a broken building and sending pieces flying as it couldn't withstand her strike. "Your little enchanted broom might harm my weaker form, but I have no plans of making the same mistake of letting you get any sort of strike against me." While she didn't believe that the broom would hurt her this time, she didn't want to take the risk after the pain of the last hit. Especially once she saw her strike blocked by the broom, seeing that it still had the power to get through evil and darkness like it had before. "Hmph... I do wonder how long that broom will hold up if it's the only defense that you have against my power..."

"I do not care for rankings... Eleven is far enough to achieve my goals... Besides, the others above me all have some way to use Her power to improve their own power. You think that I am the first one that can empower myself with it? Perhaps I am the only one to do so in this way... But we can all vastly improve our already powerful forms... Even that welp Valerie had learned to unleash that power... Nearly crossed half a fucking continent in under a minute..." Mortema would mutter the last part, actually feeling a bit impressed that she had managed such a feat, even if it was with the Cloaked One's powers.

"You act as though I didn't plan on hiding most of this from Her... Though there is always someone watching, you just need to know who before you start talking." The only reason that she was so willing to openly talk about her impending betrayal was because she knew that the only people that would be watching were those that had the same types of plans that she had. They were always careful about that, always checking to see who was watching and who could be listening, needing to be careful of every step of their plan just in case the Cloaked One or her actually loyal servants caught wind of their plans. Of course, that didn't mean that they didn't have back up plans in case the wrong people got wind of their plans, Valerie and Neith were perfect examples of that. People weren't going to get in the way, they had been planning this for ages and they weren't going to just let it all fall apart simply because the angel got a little bit too chatty.

"HAH! If you are withdrawing from this battle then I have won... You can not withdraw, otherwise this entire story will fall before me!" Mortema would gloat without realizing that Deva simply meant that she was bringing someone new in to face her. Though once Deva looked over to Isa, she would notice that the ice mage was barely keeping her focus, her knees buckling a bit as she tried to keep herself stood up through shear force of will, trying not to kneel despite the powerful impulse. Noranya, meanwhile, would already be kneeling, ready to show obedience and devotion to her Mistress. "Oh I think I see where you're going with this... You wish to bring someone ELSE in to fight your battles for you!" She'd gloat, trying to incite just a little bit of anger in return to Deva, hoping to make her upset in some form as petty revenge for the exchange from earlier.

She would cross her arms and watch as darkness began to coalesce, actually rather curious as to what sort of powers that the dark being that Deva was bringing forth to challenge her. While before she had been angry and crazed, now she seemed almost excited to face something that could help her better test the powers and limits of her form. Now she wanted to see the extent of this new power, feel it break through something much more capable of facing her in a battle of darkness. Though her eye would twitch a bit once she heard the new arrival singing, the annoyance from earlier coming back just as quickly now. "Do you associate yourself with ANYONE that understands to take things seriously?!" Mortema would ask incredulously, her earlier excitement fading a little bit in the knowledge that her opponent was just as aggravating as the angel. Her only hope that the darkness would somehow make the woman more tolerable, though she doubted that even that was true at this point. The fighting around them had stopped the moment that Mortema had appeared, many Monsters and humans kneeling down as well, with Cheshire seeming to instead just sort of bounce around, looking nervous. Siegfried and Johnny would seem to be faring better as well, the veteran pulling Johnny away to try and get a bit further out of the aura that the both of them were being affected by.

"Do you bring me one that can actually give me some level of challenge? This one seems to revel in darkness and evil... Though that means nothing without seeing what she can actually do... Let's see it then, Xarkana..." Mortema would say, somehow knowing the woman's name even without having been properly introduced. Likely just another power that the woman had gained from her transformation. "My apologies to interrupt your plans with any sort of demon... However, I do believe that I'm far more powerful than any demon that you'll encounter..." Once again she'd hit another broken down building to launch rubble away from them, these pieces landing in the water and creating a huge splash from the weight and the speed that she had knocked them away with. "Oh but don't worry about that... I have no plans of treating either of you like that pile of rubble and stone... You'll both be my personal little slaves from now on... Two for the price of one... Perhaps I should actually be thanking you, Deva, for bringing yet another person to share in your fate..." She would laugh yet again, energy preparing once again for a battle, Mortema seeming even more confident than she had been mere moments ago.

"Yes... Pretty surprising... Didn't think you... had summons other... than the Tome..." Isa would answer, her voice sounding strained as she tried to force herself to remain standing, as though it were a genuine struggle even to just talk while she was keeping herself from kneeling down. "Human or not, she will soon fall before me like all others!" Mortema would note when Deva made a reminder that she was once again fighting yet another human in this whole scenario. Once Deva asked, the Tome would shine a bit and shoot a beam of energy at Xarkana, which the woman wouldn't actually feel hitting her. Deva would see the same rift in reality, the rules and laws of the story fighting the change, trying to enforce its own rules, before the rift would fade away and Xarkana wouldn't feel any sort of difference, but now she'd be able to use all of her powers, unrestrained by the world around her.

"It seems that you and I have a very different definition of fear... But don't worry, soon I'll teach you true fear right before you learn to worship it..." Her form got just a bit closer, looming over the two of them as darkness and energy would just wisp and flow around her. Xarkana would constantly feel that pressure deep in the back of her mind, but if she hadn't knelt before her before, chances were that she was managing to resist the woman's aura perfectly. "My name? My name is Mortema, Progenitor of Darkness, Mother to all Monsters of the Night! As for my fear... I fear NOTHING! Fear is a concept held by the weak! Nothing threatens me, and therefore nothing brings me fear!" She would announce, her voice booming across the land as her hand gripped into a fist, a smile crossing her as her opponent held her weapons against her. "Very well, you little knight... Prepare yourself to face the evil villain that you just CAN'T defeat..." Then she'd slam her hand into the ground, rather than making an impact, her hand would just seem to sink into the ground as though nothing was there. A pool of pure darkness would appear around Xarkana's feet and shadow tentacles would shoot up, trying to grip at her sword and shield, as well as her arms and legs, tight grips attempting to pull her right down into the shadows. "Sink into my realm, and learn what it means to face TRUE darkness!" And if Xarkana wasn't careful, she'd feel herself being dragged down into some sort of pocket dimension, likely one that was under Mortema's control at this point. "A nice little morsel of darkness... a brilliant new minion with the powers of darkness to help tear apart humanity... I can't wait..." She laughed, seeming to already believe that Xarkana had lost the battle, as though she stood absolutely no chance.

"I will? Hoooh.." Deva sounded more curious than deterred at the promise of more impossible things. Truly, this one had only not suprised her because she had faced an entity of utter darkness in the past, though, if Mortema was only a fraction of that, she'd not take half-measures. "For the notebooks. Everyone mistakes that broom, assuming its enchanted. That couldn't do that much damage to something like you in one swing, rather, its something magical made to look like a broom. I've been a leader of a crafters guild for a time." She felt he need to correct. "As for how long it will hold out.. well, it was designed as some sorta ultimate weapon against evil when I was... in a phase, so unless you were to step the blasting up.." Deva mused. The broom could likely be destroyed by concentrated fire or force, but darkness would take a while, like trying to wash oil off with water.

"Eleven? Geesh. That means the top ten are likely to have a skill similiar to this, if their basic forms lend themselfs to it... ah yes? Thanks for that information." Deva nodded. Sure, it was bad news for her, but it was news nonetheless. Here she was, thinking she could hold two or three trump cards to deal with the cloaked one herself, it looked like it'd be one only and some serious effort. The part of Deva that enjoyed comfortable hammocks and milkshakes disapproved.

"Always someone watching, I wonder about that." Deva was confident her tome alone could disrupt anyone but the cloaked one peering in, she could defend herself on her own as well, though against enemies of this calibre her basic abjuration magic would be a waste of energy anyway.

"I can withdraw, if I give you someone new to fight. Cheers." Deva waves playfully. "Yup, someone much better, hoi hoi there, Isa. get it up." Deva, lacking an innate desire to prove herself at being 'better' than Mortema was barely aware of the provocations at all. "By the by, I'd have an ally that'd take you seriously as well, but what'd be the point in seeing you go splat in a single strike." Or perhaps not, was she throwing back this taunting? She did sound serious. She also kept an eye on Cheshire bouncing about, still unaffacted. Now, being unaffected by Johnnys music, she understood, but being unaffected by this level of presence.. even the angelblood felt it. Deva couldn't help but wonder about what Mortema had said about .. sisters?

"Hoihoi, don't diss my boy/girlfriend, .. I mean, to be fair, they weren't that impressive, but ritual nonsense is to blame for it, definitly more awesome in hell! Damn though, you really showed those rocks whos da boss. I'd be impressed, if.. you know.. place wasn't ruined anywhoo. Intimidation is fear for amateurs without class." Xarkana chuckled. Unlike Deva, she was not above mockery, to the contrary.

"One of those summons you might even get along with greatly.. uhm.. are you ok? Hrmnn.. Try to focus on not wanting this one to win, is how I do it." Deva suggested, using the tip of her broom to brush what goo had hit her off of herself. Without a more direct blast of darkness she seemingly could resist this influence for a while. When Mortema went on about dealing with this human as well, Deva simply chuckled, musing: "I wonder about that."

"Ahaha damn.. true fear? Now you're getting me in the mood.." Xarkanas grin widened. Ironically, the very looming was what helped Xarkana resist. She lacked Devas mental fortitude, but fear.. fear gave her strength. "Ahahaha.. ooh I love your name.. oohhoho.. so you think you are too strong for fear?" The Dread-mage smirked and, albeit hidden under her hat and rather subtly.. so did Deva. Though, perhaps unexpectedly, Xarkanas smirk turned down into a hesitantly empathetic, almost sorrowful expression. "You poor thing."

Xarkana watched the fist, rather disappointed that someone with such an amazing sounding name would just go with.. punching hard. She nodded in relief as the pool of darkness formed below her. And, as the tentacles teached out for Xarkana, some brushed up against her shield, finding the teeth biting into them.. and an odd feeling creeping through the mighty shadow of Mortema. "Whoever attackes the shield of dread and despair, or.." Xarkana poked a tentacle with her blade of gnashing teeth. "Is hit by the blade of pain and fear, will find themselfs affected by an unnatural dread." Xarkana chuckled, staring up at Mortemas shadow form, her eyes.. something about them made Mortema want to look away.. no want her to stop staring. She stared at the pit of darkness, seeming.. genuinly excited, but sighing. "Not here for a fun vacation though. I don't like your whole destroy-stick. For you see.. If you destroy humanity, theres no one left to fear me."

"Anyway, cute tentacles. " She smirked, poking her own side painfully, the tentacles recoiling from her, quivering away.. as if.. in fear?

"Now then. Lets put your earlier words to the test, MORTEMA! Muahahhaa.. You are dark as the abyss, but do you know what happened to me when I stared at the abyss? The Abyss blinked." Xarkana raised her hands high, taking another step forward illusory shadows dancing around her hands as she focused on the progenitor. "Heightened fear magic: " Xarkanas hands twitched, as she pulled forth an illusion of Mortemas fears, giving the creature she feared semi-reality. Only visible to Mortema, and in outlines to Xarkana, the spell was only as real as the Progenitors fears themselfs, though, although the spell was not all that powerful compared to some of the things Deva could unleash, Xarkana was the very definition of a specialist in magic like this. If Mortema did not resist the mental assault throughoutly, the figment of her fears would grip her, even in the enlarged form, squeezing and restraining the dark shape.. whilest being unaffected by attempts to fight back against it. Such was the nature of fears. "Not afraid of anything? You poor thing! Being blind or deaf or unable to walk or all of those combined would be better, believe me! Fear not.. hah.. fear yes! I shall rescue you from this dire fate. It's my duty! Now. Realize it. Writhe in fear and ecstasy, lash out at me in despair and let us both ascend to greater heights of terror itself!" Xarkana folded her hands, unlike Mortema not taking a break, her magical sword and shield floating above them as she intonated. "Hear me! Mortema, Progenitor of Darkness, Mother to all Monsters of the Night!" She spat that name out, smirking. "Thanks for telling me so openly by the by. !" Mortema felt something rend at the edges of .. reality itself, an increasing feeling of unease mounting as Xarkana leveled fear incantation after incantation at her.

Deva meanwhile, leaned in to Isa, half-whispering as she informed her: "The multiverse is vast and beautiful. It stands to reason theres lots of people you haven't even met, using elements you don't know yourself. Just like you use ice, Xarkana uses fear. She is a Dread Witch. Not just any either. She may have barely half my spells total and nothing on the level of Morphea, but for that, every last one of her spells has something to do with fear and darkness. But, moreso, Dread witches have two abilities that make this the worst possible fight for Mortema.. if all she can do is threaten and gloom about. For one, they can actually absorb fear to empower their spells. You scare them, they scare you back harder. Xarkana even gave it away early on, if you pay close attention. For two, they have an ability called mastery of terror. Even if Mortema was as immune as she says she is, not certain of that right now, a Dread-Witch will find a way to get to her. If it has a mind at all, it can be scared." Deva pointed to a spinning Xarkana, arms wide, blade and shield of gnashing teeth twirling with her as she seemed more like a (gothic) girl happily spinning through a flowerfield than a mage in the duell for her freedom.

"Come on, let's see if we can't thaw you up poor thing! Hmnnn.. I love what you do with your .. mental dominion aura? It tickles so nicely against my aura of terror. Like sticky wet fingers against rusty nails.. ahmn..." Xarkana bit her lower lip, seeming pretty much ecstatic, even eyeing one of the tentacles briefly.

"Knowing just how powerful those above me truly are will do you no good after this... It matters not what you know of them when you're going to be at my feet, serving my every whim!" Mortema would gloat, seeming to think that revealing that kind of information didn't make a difference when she was going to capture the angel anyway. "You think I would simply give that information away with no intention of preventing you from going on? We've already seen that you have some real problems keeping certain things a secret..." She'd further explain, the group of traitors rather upset that Deva had revealed the truth to both Neith and Valerie, literally giving away their plans to the first two loyal agents that she had met.

"It's as though you're TRYING to make me punish you severely... Don't worry, you'll be singing a very different tune in just a few minutes." Though she now had to focus on the new challenge coming her way, preparing herself for whatever it was that Deva thought could handle herself. Out in the crowd, Cheshire would bounce around a little more, pulling out a (non-permanent) marker and starting to doodle on people's faces, drawing silly things on the faces of her enemies, the most powerful attack! But otherwise it still seemed that she wasn't even dealing with an urge to kneel, instead channeling her need for mischief into something more fun at the moment. In fact, she'd even turn around mid drawing to look at Deva and give her a thumbs up in encouragement, knowing that if anyone could figure out the right way to get things done it would be the angel.

"Pathetic... Only a fool would let themselves be 'summoned' by others. If your 'girlfriend' had lost her impressive nature through that, then it just means that she was weak to begin with." Mortema spat, not seeming to care if Xarkana wanted her to not insult her demonic lover. Though maybe she was just trying to anger Xarkana in the hopes of getting her to make poor decisions, either way she hadn't stopped insulting the demonic friend that the mage had mentioned. "Intimidation is how you USE fear. When people fear you they are likely to run, when you intimidate them they are scared, but are forced by their own fear to listen to you... But if intimidating you won't help then I'll simply have to fight instead. You see, intimidation is only really effective if you can back it up." She'd comment, having seen others try to intimidate and threaten her, and then just fail to do anything that they threatened once she refused to comply with whatever it was that they wanted.

"Trying... Very tough... Trying not to think... about how powerful... towering... amazing... beautiful... NO!" Isa would stumble a bit, catching a large piece of building to help keep herself standing despite her body trying to kneel at that moment. She'd pull herself back up to her feet now that she was balancing herself on a larger piece of rubble, still struggling against the aura that filled the air around them. While Isa had fallen into a few different forms of control already, she was desperately fighting this one, using all of her will power to remain standing in case she was needed. Also, she just didn't want to kneel down before their enemy, the one that had seemed absolutely insane just a few moments ago. So she'd keep her hands on the piece of rubble to balance herself, standing a bit and doing her best to respond to Deva whenever the angel spoke to her.

"Fear is the emotion of the weak! Only those that have reason to be afraid are ruled by their fears! It is pathetic! You, like all humans fear so much because you're all so disgustingly weak and fragile! I am stronger than that, stronger than it all, stronger than fear itself! And you will soon learn that!" Though she seemed unimpressed once Xarkana acted as though it were a sorrowful thing for her to not experience fear. In Mortema's mind, fear was a useless emotion that humans clung to in order to help them survive. They needed to be afraid of so many things just to keep themselves from being killed by all the things that could severely harm them. Spiders, heights, darkness, snakes, all those common fears were created in the hope that they wouldn't end up dead by any of those dangerous things.

Her eyes would narrow a bit as she felt a sensation tingling in her from the shield and sword that Xarkana was using, but otherwise she wouldn't react right away. The moment that it happened, the tentacles would retreat from the shield and sword, and instead reach out in an attempt at grabbing the mage's wrists, trying to throw her off balance and squeeze them a bit harder to make her drop the weapons she had summoned. Rather than looking away, however, Mortema would keep a cold stare into Xarkana's eyes. The progenitor indeed had fears, no matter what she said, but that didn't mean that she wasn't ready to stare down an impudent human mage that was daring to challenge her in this way. "Humanity will be no more... Instead it will be... changed. They will be superior when I am done with them... You are very fortunate that I am merciful... For even after all of your impudence and foolishness, I will still improve you! Some might argue that you do not deserve it, but that does not matter to me. You will be mine!" Despite the strange look in Xarkana's eyes, Mortema would keep her icy stare going, confidence, anger, and a chilling calm somehow all within that inhuman stare.

Mortema would begin to laugh once again as Xarkana mentioned that the abyss couldn't take her stare, a wide smirk growing across her face as she looked down at Xarkana. "Well aren't you a fun one, for a human... I am NOT the Abyss... I am far more. The abyss is a gaping maw filled with darkness, the place where monsters sleep and call their home. I am that which commands those monsters, those beasts of the abyss flee from me TO the safety of the abyss. I am not just the abyss, I am the eternal Void!" The woman would state, holding her arms out dramatically, apparently enjoying the way that Xarkana wished to challenge her. Before she had faced nothing but angels, ones that would be so assured of their own righteousness, ones that acted as though they were so much better and more right than her. But this one, this one challenged her darkness and her evil. This one wished to stare deep into the void and make it tremble before her, rather than force all the darkness and evil out of it. And once Xarkana used her spell, she'd see Mortema struggling with... the outline of a human. What Mortema feared most was not a huge beast with thousands of fangs, not some abomination of a creature that could destroy her with a thought, but just humanity in its entirety. She feared what they would do to the world, she feared what they would do to each other, she feared that which she KNEW they would do if given free reign over the world that was promised to her. But rather than quiver in fear, or recoil and try to escape, the sight of this human trying to strangle her only made the Progenitor angry. "This?! THIS is what you wish to send after me?! If this is my fear, then you should learn something about me! My so called 'fear' is my drive! This does not make me quiver, or writhe, this only makes me wish for the destruction even more!" But her form would be grappled by the phantasm, Mortema's shadowy body seeming to compress slightly in the areas that the illusion gripped, and despite her words she at least seemed far more uncomfortable than she had been before.

Then when Xarkana spoke Mortema's name, the shadowy from would seem to grow a bit more unstable, reforming together rather quickly, but clearly not as calm and confident as it had been a few moments ago. "Is THIS the game that you wish to play, human?! Very well then, I believe that it's MY turn!" What Xarkana was doing was starting to work just a bit, as Mortema's form would shake a bit every now and then, destabilizing for a quick moment before returning to what it had been a few moments before. "How about I show you what you REALLY are?!" Even while her form was grappled, she'd manage to raise a hand to the sky, energy coalescing around it as she muttered some words to herself. Then a blast of energy would suddenly hit Xarkana, dark purple slamming into her chest. Yet, no impact would be felt, and from Deva's point of view it would seem as though nothing had happened to Xarkana. The fear mage, however, would feel something intensely different. It would feel a slight burning sensation, and it'd physically feel as though all the corruption that Xarkana had taken in was being forcefully peeled off of her body. Nothing would happen physically, but Xarkana would see herself returning to a more pure, chaste looking form. Her dark black hair lightening to a bleached blonde, her black dress suddenly shifting into a pure and white robe, her skin gained a little more color, gaining more life to it, and her face would shift a bit to look pure and innocent. To the outside world, she was still the evil mage, but in her own eyes she had taken the form of a pure and chaste young woman. "This is what you really are! You act as though you are so powerful, like you are an evil avatar of fear, but YOU are nothing more than a pure little girl that PRETENDS! I was born evil! I was born an avatar of the purest darkness! You hide beneath whatever some demon has done to you in the hopes of being EVIL! But we can't change our nature! You are a chaste little girl, I am a being of pure darkness!" Though if Xarkana listened carefully, deep down within her, if she wasn't too distracted by the trick Mortema had constructed, Xarkana might still barely hear the dark whispers of her demonic girlfriend... She might still hear the corruption deep within her...

"Really... Interesting... Didn't think... fear could... be used like... elements..." Isa would respond, not really able to keep up any sort of complex conversation considering how much effort it took her to resist the aura. If Deva looked carefully, she'd see that Johnny was now helping Siegfried along at the edge of the ruined city, the two of them falling over now that they were properly outside the range of the aura, the both of them seeming absolutely exhausted after fighting off the aura for so long.

"My power is not something unnatural... You call it an aura... But in reality it is the natural inclination of humans! Humans are weak and pathetic, needing to kneel before that which is so much more powerful than they are. You wish to kneel and obey because you are HUMAN!" She would tell her, her voice seeming to sound even louder and more powerful now that Xarkana saw herself as a regular human, as a blonde, kind girl. The aura would feel stronger now, as though a pure girl like her was MEANT to kneel before something so powerful. Without her dark look, something would make her want to kneel down and submit to something so much more evil and powerful. Perhaps she really was a scared little girl? Perhaps she wasn't the powerful evil mage that she acted like normally? Or perhaps... perhaps she had learned from her demonic lover exactly how evil she COULD be...

"Two." Deva mused at Mortema. "Oh you are grumpy at me being chatty about your betrayal plans, well, from my perspective, imagine you are a big ball of enemies, the more infighting the better." of course, that was not true, but it was what Deva wanted them to think. If you chat a lot about one thing, people tend to assume thats all you got to chat about..

Deva couldn't help but grin at Cheshires antics, clearly enjoying the felines.. company.

"You keep dissing my demon, see what happens." Xarkana flipped off the big shadow-lady. She knew 62 more ways to induce fear in someone after all. She seemed to remain relatively calm beyond that, used to combat, just as Deva was, it seemed.

"'Ohoho.. you are hot.. but you got not the first clue about fear. I can back up my fear with more fear." She grinned. "Fear is the emotion of survival, the primal urge of the self not to be extinquished in the darkness. If you can think, you can percieve the end of your thoughts and thus, you are subject to fear. To be afraid is to be alive, for if you are not afraid, there is nothing left to lose." Xarkana explained, suprisingly philosophical.. in that regard, whilest Deva was busy worrying about Isa for a moment.. was this how powerful her foes aura was? It felt.. opressive, yes, but not that strong, not to her..

"You are right though.. I fear lots of things." Xarkana grinned darkly, her eyes holding the progenitors, seeming to drink in the stare of utter darkness she was facing. "Oh don't talk about mercy.. tell me more aobut how you're gonna slaughter and destroy me..." Xarkan licked her lips. "Come on, you were talking all this good shit a moment ago!"

"Oooh the eternal void? See, thats better." Xarkana grinned. "Oh could it be.. you are afraid of humanity itself?" Xarkana cooed, closing her eyes for a moment. "Ahahahahha MUAHAHAHHAAHAHAHA! No wonder you are strong, you're facing your worst fear right now. Oooh the fear is your drive...?" Xarkana licked her lips. "Marvelous. Hold on. Contact other plane." She chanted, focusing for a moment. "Hey Beelz, it's me.. say, are you up for a three way? Ah. yes, yes.. big shadow lady, I like her. You want to see for yourself? Err.. that may be complicate for different reasons.. the ball? Yes yes..ugh.. give me a little bit ok? I'll make it up to you. Laters!" She looked over to Mortema. "Right, so where were we.... oh yes, feel like going to a ball later? Don't worry, I was promised it'd be less music music dance dance, more mask mask, nude perversions later in the night."She pondered.

"Oh yes.. you know, I can tell if the spell worked or failed, no point playing tough. It doesn't hurt much but it'll keep you restrained. But yes.. it's your turn! Show me what you can do! Show me your most wicked powers!" Xarkana.. encouraged.

Then, when she was hit by the blow, she raised a hand to her immaculately white-rosy cheek, her usual unholy illusions disrupted.. though one of her eyes remained rather demonic in apperance. "Geesh.. see now you're getting me angry." She narrowed her eyes. "No wonder, this stupid angel summons me right into troubles.. Geesh.. well, you got close.

Actually, I 'did it' to myself. The evil that is."
Xarkana looked back up. "True, my body is rather.. disgusting, but it's on the inside what counts. I mean, sure, you can make me dress up pretty.. but I'm still rotten to the very core. What about you?" Xarkana smirked.
Deva meanwhile nodded. "It's.. a rarer kind of magic, certainly. But most magic has a driving point, either in elements, or the human psyche. Only exeption is the tomes, which I believe are powerful tools of a magic similiar to true-name magic, making reality accept your view of it.." She pondered on.

"Actually, being human or monster has little to do with it... what matters is your devotion to the cause! Whats this about, monsters and humans? Shouldn't both fear you equally? Darkness doesn't take sides!" Xarkana objected, exhaling weakly, shivering briefly.. she felt so weak and vunerable... Wonderful. She closed her eyes.. "Haah.. so.. intimidating. You know, unless the angel over there I don't have a mind made of.. I dunno, stone or something." She shrugged slightly. "That said." Xarkana chuckled, looking a the darkness before her.. "I love it.. you even got to the bottom of my true fear.. hmnn being pure and disgustingly .. ordinary.. human.. it's.. horrifying... But.. sadly, you aren't an avatar of darkness. You're all selfish and distracted with nonsense.. if you were a creature of evil pure, you'd be like.. 'darkness, sweeps across this land. All will be destroyed, as the chaos reigns!' And I'd be like 'Damn straight, lets start with that annoying angel, one big problem out of the way'.. but instead you're like.. 'waah waaah, I dun like humans.' Bah!" Xarkan liked her lips, the darkness around herself drawing into her. "Well then, monster.. keep looking at me! Gaze into the face of humanities worst! Hahahahaa!" She folded her fingers, shadows dancing along them, her head glowing purple.: "Fearful empowerement: " Xarkana cooed, with Deva suddenly gripping Isa, pulling her away. "Not save to stay closeby here." She nodded, dragging Isa away out of Xarkanas widening aura of.. well, fear. Growing more powerful, tearing at the edges of Mortemas focus. And, with her not resisting the humanoid shadow, that too would continue to grip at her form, only growing more powerful through Xarkanas added layer of fearful spells.

"Hmnn.. delicious.. isn't it..? Come! Summon forth your shadows and tentacles, unleash your darkest corruptions on me!" Xarkana shouted at the dark frame, gripping her cheek, cutting into it with her nails, exhaling with an insane grin. "I'm having so much ~fun!~ Now! Come on.. win! FIGHT! STRUGGLE! DESPAIR BEFORE MY EVIL ahahaha.. oooh.. shower me with that revibrating voice of darkness!" Xarkana extended her hands, proclaiming: "Let's raise the stakes. I have magic that'll scare you to death if you can't fight your fears. Come! Mistress of the void! Shower me in your dark majesty so I can drown you with it! Let us make your last living moments an ecstasy of unending terror! You fear humanity? Well then, imagine!" Xarkana cooed, her words and presence dripping with darkness. "Imagine it all coming to an end.. Imagine! The last thing you experience.. could be humanity, victorious. Everything you have, everything you are, ending in an instant.. and right before, you feel more alive than ever.. the ecstasy of fear! Oh, how I envy your fate..

But I don't have to! Come on! Discard these useless inhibitions you have about not killing me! Because.. I will kill you soon.. oh so sooon! Ahahahahaaah! To enslave me, you need to be stronger.. no.. no. you must want to destroy me.. To end my life and if it is to save your own.. existing on as a slave is boring! Give in to your anger and hatred and fear! Give in to the darkness! If you aren't prepared to send our own soul to the very worst torments of hell when facing me, you might as well not bother!"
Xarkana leaned back, completely open, exposing herself. "You foolish woman. You don't rule over the darkness. That's a lie deluded dark mages tell themselfs. The darkness is always stronger. If you are an avatar of darkness, then show me the will of darkness itself!" Xarkana went on, closing her eyes. "Funny thing that, you're the second one to tell me she was born evil and I was nothing before her.. heh. Quite the fight she gave me.. but now.. Just like her, I challenge you. TEST MY CONVICTION! Bask me in darkness, I will not falter. I will not flinch. It is true, I wasn't born a creature of evil. But I've devoted myself." She slamed her hand on her chest, clenching it into a fist. "Whilest you use darkness as a tool. This exquisite fear that has driven you so far. These powers.. you wish to take them away from humanity? Selfish. Disgusting. If people are enslaved, how can they be free to be afraid, to choose a path of evil? Wheres the struggle of goody heroes? You use evil as a tool for power. When I spread fear.. it's never for my own sake.. even if its fun, it's always..." Xarkana nodded, keeping her eyes closed. "For the greater evil."

Deva cleared her throat, whispering to Isa.: "She err... the .. other friends I've made are more heroic."

"Oh... Now you're the one that wants to make threats against me? It is not my fault that your demon is to weak to enter the world on her own, and requires herself to be summoned in order to unleash any level of whatever minuscule power that she had." Mortema would gloat a bit, not showing the slightest hint of fear when it came to insulting the demon that Xarkana had been with. She already figured that the mage was planning on throwing everything she had at her, so it didn't really seem like a bad idea to further insult a demon that she had never met before. Though if she was anything like that 'demons' that Mortema knew, she would be nowhere near as powerful as she was.

"Without fear, there is nothing left to lose... Have you ever fought one that had nothing left to lose? They're notoriously dangerous really..." She would comment in a smug tone, actually liking the thought of having just about nothing left to lose. Though in reality, she had a lot to lose, but the idea that a lack of fear left one with nothing was ridiculous to one like her, that believed herself to be completely free of any fear. Meanwhile, Isa would continue her struggle, gritting her teeth a bit and holding herself up. Though thankfully, if she wasn't splitting her focus too much on different things, she could keep herself standing a bit easier, her legs not shaking as much. "Fear is the emotion of the weak and cowardly. I have worked tirelessly to rid myself of such a disgusting emotion." She would tell her, still completely reviling the very idea that she would feel anything even resembling fear, considering her 'fear' of humanity to be more hatred than anything.

"You may call it fear all you wish, but that's not what I consider fear. I KNOW what all of humanity can do, I know the foolish and needless violence that they indulge in, and so I wish to snuff all of that out completely. I do not fear humanity, I HATE humanity, I loathe it, the only thing even resembling fear is my desire to protect my creations from their destruction!" Mortema would state, not flinching at the 'human' that was grappling her, having always stood strong in the face of what she considered her 'fears'. Though her eyes would narrow once again in annoyance when Xarkana seemed to just take a phone call right in the middle of their battle. "I do not degrade myself by attending 'balls'! I don't intend to sully myself by lying with a human and whatever demon you happen to associate yourself with! Perversion may be enjoyable in some forms, but I have no plans of indulging before I properly wipe humanity off the map!" She shouted, not sure who Xarkana could be talking to, but intending to make sure that Xarkana wouldn't manage to make it to her little celebration.

Once she had stripped Xarkana of her evil appearance, Mortema would laugh mockingly at the appearance, looking her over for a little bit before responding to her. "Oh you look so beautifully kind and innocent! A sweet little girl that wants to play evil for a little bit. It isn't my fault that THIS is what you really are deep down, THIS is the 'dreaded' Xarkana, nothing more than a little girl in an outfit with a few spells trying to pretend that she's something she has NEVER been!" The progenitor would continue pushing that line of thought, partially because she could tell that the mage was self conscious about that, and partially because the angry ones always made the worst mistakes. If she hadn't unleashed this transformation, her own anger and rage would've caused her to do something completely ridiculous.

"Oh but darkness DOES take sides... Darkness spawns creatures and beasts that eagerly hide within it. Creatures hide in darkness and some use its power as their own. Darkness will always play favorites, no matter what you wish to think about it..." She'd say, sweeping her hand across the gathered army, showing all the creatures created that used and indulged in the powers of darkness, all the people that she herself had created, the Monsters of the Void. "Humanity is a disgusting blot on this planet! You act as though I am lesser simply because I have real goals beyond just destruction. I will RULE this world, and I'd much prefer not to have a barren wasteland to rule over." Sure she could just cause destruction and darkness to reign over the entire land, but that would leave her nothing to rule over, no home for her creations to thrive in. While she was darkness incarnate, she still considered herself to be a mother to all the Monsters that existed now, and as such she planned on providing them with a proper world to live in. "So throw everything that you have at me, and prove just how ORDINARY you really are! Prove that you're just another weak little human facing something far beyond yourself! I don't fear you, not the way you understand it." Her stare wouldn't break as Xarkana further assaulted her with fear, her form becoming more and more unstable, the darkness around her shaking as she did feel even more fear gripping at the edges of her mind. Her entire form would fluctuate a bit, the darkness shaking some more, even a small bit of her shadows actually severing from the form and causing it to shrink ever so slightly. When Deva started to pull Isa away from Xarkana's fear aura, she'd feel that the ice mage was TRYING to help her with that, trying to move along with her, but she wouldn't be too much help considering that she had to keep focusing on not kneeling down.

"You don't understand anything at all! Darkness and evil is NOT something that you just invite into yourself. You are BORN evil, you are born filled with darkness, and no matter how much you try to act as though you've made yourself evil just through a few actions and decisions and a dark dress, but you were never truly evil. People are BORN evil! And I must ask, how does it FEEL to know that millions of humans were born truly evil, but YOU were not. YOU were born ordinary, even more chaste than some of the people you find on the streets!" Mortema would shout, her voice still echoing loudly through the city as she grew legitimately angry. Though trying to get Mortema to actually kill would never work, it wasn't just a regular inhibition that kept her from doing it, it was a deep and instinctual desire to never kill. It was as inherent to her as her hatred of humanity, those were the two things that she intensely despised more than anything else in the world. Killing, and humans, which had made her grow to hate humans even more as they so often indulged in killing. "You wish to see darkness, you wish to see power, well then... it is time that you experience the void!" Once again she'd struggle through the grappling human, and slam her hand into the ground, letting it sink through solid ground. Once again Xarkana would see a pool of darkness on the ground around her, though rather than tendrils trying to reach out and grab her, Mortema's hand would reach out at incredible speeds, gripping around Xarkana's midsection completely. She'd feel solid darkness gripping in on her, squeezing her just enough to be uncomfortable, and even if she was struck by the shield and sword, her grip wouldn't release. Once her grip was closed in, that hand would yank Xarkana down into the pool of darkness at her feet. Once she was pulled down, she'd find herself in what seemed like an ever expanding void of darkness, stretching on in every direction. If she looked closely, she'd see some of the darkness whisping around just like it had in Mortema's shadowy form. A voice would echo out all around her, the words completely filling the entirety of the void.

"You wish to see darkness, well then welcome to the Void!" Eyes would open near Xarkana, white without pupils, looking at her in this expanding void. "THIS is my realm now! I give you one final chance to kneel before me!" Though as she said that, the darkness would suddenly reach out to grip at Xarkana's every limb and start trying to pull her into a kneeling position, trying to force her into a helpless posture against the eyes staring straight through her. "You WILL obey me! You WILL kneel!" In the void, that aura and echo in the back of her mind would sound much louder and far more demanding than it had moments ago, increasing that urge to go along with the shadows of the void and kneel down before the powerful Progenitor.

"Oh you're just being inconsiderate. Thats it, no more toying about." Xarkana nodded at the provocations. "Shame really, the more I hear you babble, the less I like you. Even the weak ones can fashion fear into power. Eh, it don't matter what you think. My magic will prove me right." Deva sighed a little, pondering the situation before her.

"Right, you know what, we don't want you at the ball actually." Xarkana nodded, closing her eyes for a moment of annoyance at Mortema mocking her apperance. "Thats it." She glared up at Mortema. "This magic is almost too good for you, but you're asking for it." Xarkana flexed slightly, but it was Mortema that attacked first, dragging her into a dark void.

"It's dark. so what?.. grnrnnnnnn!" Xarkana growled when darkness gripped at her and tried to pull her down. Admittedly, she lacked the physical power to resist such a thing, even if, to her credit, her mind stood firm. "Heh.. If its your realm, that means, your consciousness is all around me. Lets see how many of those you can endure before your body gives up. " Xarkana smirked, her hands struggling with the darkness, forming an array of arcane symbols, and creating.. an image of a human.. and another human, and another, climbing atop one another, until they formed one giant humanoid made of smaller humans, reaching out through the darkness, gripping Mortemas hand.. the ice-cold grip of primal fear manifest, as...
The impact was hard, and precise. The next attack followed after, relentless and merciless. "I literally can't believe how stupid you villains can be." Deva commented, twirling her broom for a third strike. "I'm telling you that I'm withdrawing from the fight and you actually believe it? And.. I'm certain someone told you I'm an illusionist, a little bit of distraction is all I need to approach someone nearly unseen. Thanks for enceasing Xarkana in a poket-dimension though, if I get close to her when she gets serious I have nightmares of paperwork and bureocracy for a week." Deva mused, her broom glowing in a white light, contrasting the shadows. Meanwhile, in the world of the void, Xarkana grinned.

"Whats up ugly, your grip got a bit shaky. That wasn't enough to get you down, was it? Ahahahaaa!" Xarkana laughed maniacally, sending more horrifying phantoms at mortema, whilest the angel had positioned herself in the giant shadow-avatars blind spot, her broom cutting chunks of darkness away. "Frankly, I'm doing you a favour, if Xarkana has her way with you -if- you make it out, you'll be left a mess of various phobias." Deva mused, jumping back to avoid potential retaliatory attacks after Morterma somewhat gathered herself.

"Anyway. You got kinky goo, so you can't be all bad, I'll simply suckle off that excess power you have now. I'd be worried about you trying again in this story, but eh, I'm sure things will work out." Deva nodded, ready for another attack, though also needing to focus herself for a moment, up close to that aura of dark dominion even she couldn't completly ignore its effects, even if it was destabilized.

"Oh no! I'm oh so upset that you and your pathetic demon don't want me to attend! Whatever shall I do?!" Mortema would retort, voice dripping with sarcasm. "Is the chaste little girl angry now? Upset that your I know your true nature? Maybe that's why you were so eager for a demon to take you in. You hoped that she could somehow make you evil... When in truth it was probably your chaste and innocent little soul that REALLY attracted a demon to you." Well, never let it be said that she didn't press people's buttons once she had found them. Plus, once again the progenitor thought that she had the battle won, especially now that Xarkana had been dragged into her dimension, her void where she had the most power.

"How sweet! Such a kind young girl kneeling down before her better, right where she belongs. If it weren't for all your nonsense earlier, I might even just let you go. But instead you just look so cute right there!" She would continue to mock, this time her taunting voice echoing all around her. Though once again she was faced with a mass of humanity, the gripping terror of everything that they could possibly do to the world and all the violence that she knew they would cause. It was crashing down on her even though part of her KNEW that this was all fake. "You DARE to bring these terrors in front of me as though THIS will make me cower?! YOU are yet another example of the disgusting nature of humanity!" Even through all of her shouting, however, the entire realm around Xarkana would fluctuate a bit, at first from fear, and then it would go even further, the strike from Deva making her dimension even more unstable. Deva's strike would break through the darkness as though it were nothing, knocking a good amount of her form off now that she was in the blind spot. She would instinctively lash out and try to hit Deva, swinging blindly and missing after such a strike. And her darkness realm would begin to shake a bit, Mortema's concentration split now between an internal and external opponent, both of whom were rather threatening with the powers they had.

"Damn you, you insufferable human! You are in MY realm! Cease your foolishness! I could tear you apart if I so wished!" Which was true, but with her hatred of killing and her concentration divided between opponents, she wouldn't really be able to do too much other than keep Xarkana restrained. That also meant that she'd barely be able to attack Deva, her arms trying to swing around and hit a target that she currently can't see. "Oh my! Well that doesn't seem very fair, now does it? Ganging up on an opponent AFTER you withdraw yourself from the fight... No sense of honor really... It's unfortunate to see, so not beautiful..." Deva would hear a familiar voice speaking from atop a building behind her would speak out at Deva's tactics.

A man in a white cloak stood atop a building, looking down on the chaos before him. Deva wouldn't remember seeing him there at any point, but there he was now, criticizing her methods. "Good to see you again, little hero... I must say that you're causing us far too much trouble as of late. Even with how many times I've beaten her before, that damnable Amazoness is always such a pain to fight. I even messed up my hair taking her down... Then you make us have to deal with the spider as well... So much of a mess to clean up..." He lamented, as though the only terrible thing about killing Neith was just how much work it was for them. "Your little game with dear Mortema has gone on long enough, I think it's high time I get her out of here and away from you. It's going to be a fucking pain to cover this one up, but it's far better than her being destroyed... We'll need her at some point." Deva had already essentially defeated Mortema, even the man understood it at this point. "Would've been nice to have her enslave you at this point... A lot easier for us if we could better control your actions..." He lamented, shaking his arms a bit before letting his wings spread once again.

He would swoop down, out of reach of Deva, and reach a hand into the black mass of darkness, light suddenly causing the inky mass to burst open, gripping Mortema and pulling her out. In the dark void, Xarkana would see a bright flash of light around her, and the dark void would begin to shake even harder than it had a few moments ago, the darkness seeming to start melting around her as she became more aware of things. If she looked around she'd see that her form had returned to its properly evil look, the illusion on her completely broken now that the void melted around her. She'd be returned to standing where she had been when the shadowy hand had pulled her down. The huge shadow form was also seeming to just melt into nothingness, as the angel man pulled out Mortema's original form, the woman looking exhausted and barely conscious as she looked around at them.

"We've already lost Azalea... I don't exactly want to lose any more allies to you, and the Boss agrees with me on that one." He'd inform Deva, reaching his hand up and creating a portal in the sky, beginning to fly towards it with Mortema in his arms. Though because he was carrying someone this time, Deva would have a chance to stop him if she wished. Otherwise he'd make it to the portal and escape once again, this time pulling the progenitor of darkness with her.

"'t was a mutual taking in. Actually, it wasn't. Tore of her eye, almost got killed for it. Fun times." Xarkana quite certainly did not like Mortema, but, having encountered Beelze before, having been acknowledged and awarded her title of Lady of Evil, she wasn't simply provoked into making a mistake.. she just got really annoyed.

"Honor? The heavens are you talking about?" Deva tilted her head. "This is not a sparring match, this is not even a duell, this is war... and she has made quite clear, the stakes involved. What does it matter if you are defeated by one soldier now or defeat that soldier only to be struck down by another afterwards. Theres no consolation prices for fair sports." She smirked slightly, her hands switching her broom from right to left, hand slipping into her poket. "So, are you going to turn this into a one on one by occupying me, or will you flee once more? No matter what rank you are, deep down, you must be at least a little concerned, I took out a total of five of you, counting those you know about, number thirteen and twelve in one go, and now, admittedly with a bit of assistance, number eleven also looks to have a one sided time with me." Deva made sure to gave her voice a slightly more cocky subtone.

"Stupid angels, getting in my way.." Xarkana growled, as the darkness around her parted, looking to be a disoriented and, on closer examination, to be barely standing. She was tough, but not on Devas level of mental fortitude by a long run. "Hey, I just put her in line, that one is being a problem." "And taking away my prey. " Xarkana chanted, aiming at the angelic cloak. Whilest Deva observed calmly the retreat (as a matter of fact, she truly could not fly like he could and she was not certain if she didn't -want- the rebellion to succeed.... Xarkana had less qualms, creating an illusion, this time visible to everyone, of the cloaked ones worst fear. Only to be folllowed by Deva shrugging, lifting her hand, infusing the fear-illusion with enough reality to actually strike out at the winged one.

"You think you can get away this easily, coward?" She smirked, whilest inwardly musing: Tzk, showing me the same trick twice.. you're not getting away without revealing just what you can do in an actual combat.. and thanks to Xarkana, revealing your fears as well. "You think any of you can destroy worlds as you please then get away from me? You run, I'll just go to the next place you infest. Isa! Get it together, the aura is gone now, Ice-blast him down before he can get away!" And I'm fully aware this is exactly what you want me to do. Now, come on.. Deva thought, her eyes focusing on the cloaked form. I know your weakness, as soon as I know your strength, even just the nature of it, I can extrapolate how to deal with you anytime.. leaving me free to worry about your boss.. and likely Mortema and perhaps even a corrupted Valerie.

Deva could almost FEEL the smirk growing on the cloaked man's face as she began talking about honor and the ridiculousness of holding anyone to those kinds of rules. "I'll make sure to remember that..." He would chuckle for a bit before continuing on. "How cute... Not only could I handle these three, the Boss could crush them in an instant! I may have had a hard time dealing with Valerie, but the Boss had to physically hold herself back just to ensure little Neith was still recognizable by the end of it. You took out 3 people that we won't have to worry about in the future, lost one of our weaker members, and then beat this one here. Trust me, I'm not impressed." While Deva was definitely powerful, as she had proven, she'd still need to do a lot more to legitimately worry the man. "I'm only here to clean up the mess... AGAIN... and pull my ally out of this whole thing. I'd kindly request you stop making all these messes... You'll outlive your usefulness at that rate." He'd say in a manner that sounded more like he was trying to give friendly advice rather than threatening her. "Ah well... I don't have too much work to do here anyway, so there's no need for me to be so dramatic..."

Though once he was hit by Xarkana's spell he'd pause for a moment, a mirror appearing in front of him, but rather than his own reflection there was... a man that looked mildly unattractive. Which would cause the man to recoil dramatically and try to cover his eyes. "NOOOOOOOO! That can't be true! NO! There's just no way! NOOOOOOOOOO!" He'd try to turn away, and the mirror would just float around and still be right in front of him, forcing him to look at the mirror and see a mildly unattractive man. "NO! GET IT AWAY FROM ME!! KEEP IT THE HELL AWAY!" He'd fly in a different direction once again, the only time that he could ever recall trying to look AWAY from a mirror, and once again the mirror would just keep following him. "AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" His shout of terror would ring out around them as he flailed a bit, somehow still keeping a hold of Mortema while he recoiled again and again from the mirror that just wouldn't go away no matter how hard he tried to avoid and ignore it.

Isa would shake her head a bit, focusing back rather quickly as she looked up at the flying angel, shooting an ice blast straight at the cloaked man. But rather than hitting him at all, it would hit a forcefield around him and dissipate into nothingness, the man didn't even notice the bolt, instead still working to get away from the mirror. Which in turn meant that Isa would fire a few more Ice bolts right at the barrier, seeing a crack appear as she kept applying force against it. Without his focus on keeping it up, she was able to just wear away at it rather quickly. More and more cracks began to spread across the barrier, the man wildly panicking all over the place as his worst fear appeared before him. So she fired one more bolt, the barrier shattering with a loud bang as he continually screamed and flew around trying to avoid the evil mirror that showed him such horribly hideous things.

The ice mage would ready one last ice bolt to bring the man down, before she would suddenly fall to the ground and hit her side a bit on the fall, a shadow tendril having reached out to trip her before she could get her shot off on the man. Looking up, it seemed that all the panicking had woken Mortema slightly, making her groan and look around. "Damnable idiot... Quit panicking over a fucking mirror and get out of here!" She shouted at him trying to get him to move towards the portal that he had opened. Though strangely, it wasn't her that had made the shadow tendrils appear and trip Isa.

A woman with red hair and a face a bit like Mortema's had her hand outstretched, controlling the tendrils. She'd look up at the two in the air, concern clear in her face. "MOTHER! Get out of here! I'll hold them back!" She'd let the shadow tendrils continue to hold the ice mage down as she rushed at Xarkana and Deva, trying to tackle the fear mage, hoping that by disrupting her focus she'd manage to give the angel an opportunity to escape. However, unlike the others, this woman had never gained any power from the Cloaked One, she was just trying to use her own powers to stop them and provide enough time for them to escape.

"For FUCK'S SAKE! Just ignore the mirror! YOU'RE OH SO FUCKING BEAUTIFUL AND ALL THAT OTHER SHIT YOU SAY ALL THE TIME! JUST LEAVE!" Mortema would start shouting at the man, trying to 'comfort' him to get him to just reach the portal he had made. Though hearing that would make the angel stop panicking for half a second, before immediately going right back to it when he looked at the mirror again. However, if Deva didn't handle this new woman fast enough, then chances were that Mortema would get through to him long enough to get them to escape. Which was the biggest problem about fighting someone in their own story... They had a lot of people that cared about them, and as such those people might try to get in the way despite their lack of immense power.

Re: Pages Unfold: Unidentifiable Cake (Pervy/shotgungunshot)

"If they were so weak and unimportant, you'd not go through all the effort to deal with them." Deva affirmed. Truthfully, she expected this one to be telling the truth and also noted the particular phrasing of some of his words.. So the leader of this rebellion had high physical prowess.. bad news for Deva, who, without magic, didn't amount to more than Neith in pure direct combat. Reason you are getting away easily..ish is that I want to see how useful -you- can be against the cloaked one. She mused.

"Muahahaha.. seems my fear-magic is quite effective on that one, eh, shame you used up the one summon I owed you, whatevers going on."
Xarkana smirked whilest Deva was busy paying close attention to the mirror.. lucky she had Xarkana there, perhaps her spell could have backfired.

"Interesting, very interesting. He's likely exeptionally skilled, but the type to react if he somehow gets touched.."
She looked over at the shadowy tendrils.

"Oh I get it.. his fear is beauty marred. A perfectionist, oh thats delicious, I got just the spell for you, curse of the withered husk. Would you like seeing the weight of years bearing down on you?"
Xarkana smirked, before being charged, growling at.. "Another interruption? Seriously, one after the other, alright then, how about a wall of haunted spirits? Or some more Phantasmal assailants?" The fear-mage mused, only to suddenly freeze up, her form becoming instable, Deva holding two fingers folded. "Sorry Xarkana. It was.. interesting meeting you again, but we can't become the invaders." Deva nodded, dismissing her summoning calling Xarkana here. Though.. that did not end the mirrors existance by itself. It wouldn't last for all that long, of course, but unless one was ready to face their fears.. it couldn't simply be destroyed or fled from.

"Illusiory light."
Deva mumbled, focusing, creating a copy of the mirror image she saw in her hand. "And now, to make it real." She nodded, gripping the mirror and quickly poketing it. "Frankly, I enjoy evil fearing me, .. though not through fear magic itself, but by what I do. But is this alright for you, Mortema? Your servants, your allies, your own daughter, you'd abandon them all to do with as I please?" Deva shouted out, loud enough for those around her to hear. "I've been a general you know, and these.. are spoils of war. I could take them as my slaves. I could present them to the humans. Now I'm not going to do any of that.. but I'm just making very sure your soldiers know -exactly- who they are following." Deva waved her hand, over the kneeling monstergirls. "There she is, your mighty leader, dragged away, barely conscious. Rescued, not even by her own power, but by the aid of others helping her. Trust me, I could strike her down right now if I wished to, but I don't and you know why?

Because I'm not afraid of her."
Deva twirled her broom at any shadow tendrils coming for her, letting her enemies escape.. she knew when she had won. Infact, if even Xarkana couldn't get through to the dark creature, perhaps .. she could.

"Because being afraid is not a weakness!"
She waved her hand. "Fear inspires you. Fear means there is something, someone you care about so much you don't want to see them hurt. And your leader was very afraid, as well as she might have hidden it.

HOW THEN! You ask, can you tell if someone is strong? It's simple. Those, that are truly strong.. they have no need to hurt you, or defeat you, because they truly are above letting their fears determine their deeds. They know, that no matter how you will threaten them, or their loved ones.. they wont -let you- do as you please. Let me show you what true strength looks like."
Deva pulled out her tome, loudly demanding of it: "Remove Xarkanas spell. True power.. is mercy, for the enemy that is not a threat to you." Deva waved her hand. "That is the reason you have gathered, is it not? Not to gain slaves, but to gain power, to overcome fear. Fear of the humans. They have a way to enslave you now, well, they are equally afraid of your powers, thats the reason they come after you. Two races, striking at each other in retaliation. And I tell you.. the ones you should follow are not those that shout for war and for a need to strike first. It's those that are merciful in their victory. It's those that do what they want, uncaring of the humans." Deva pointed her finger ahead, at Cheshire.

"I usually feel exeptionally guilty, revealing another trickster, but seriously, what would you have done if I hadn't showed up? You can't expect everyone else to handle.. your wayward sister." She nodded. All the monsters, even veteran like seeming humans like the weird-eyed white haired one and fellow travelers like Isa had been affected by the progenitors aura. Even Deva needed to steel her resolve as she got close. Mortema had spoken of sisters early in the fight and clearly, Cheshire had approached Mortema before as well, plus, in all the chaos of a gathering army, she had tracked down Deva with precise accuracy. She might be able to fool most people, even Mortema with her act, but... Deva knew the power it would take to simply shake off Mortemas aura, it was not a power that simple madness afforded you. You could giggle madly and kneel while at it after all.

"You owe me one." She nodded, pat-patting her tome. "Let's begin the restoration and head on right to the next, whilest the enemy recuperates. I figure everything here will sort itself out? Oh, right.." She looked at the daughter, and the more devoted servants. "I'll try to get her back to you, but these ambitions of conquest have to stop, for your own sake. Theres many powerful and less kind people out there." Deva waved, then, unless something had interrupted her, she scuttled over to Isa, pat-patting her shoulder. "Great job! You proved the enemies protective shields can be exhausted and damaged and held your own for quite a while. Truth be told, I was starting to worry Xarkana might get overtaken by this aura of dominion or whatevers that was and she's a veteran witch, we're talking fear magic powerful enough to weaken nations... hah, frankly, glad I got that summoning off of my back and that everything went so.. cordial, they are not under my control after all, not gonna lie, there was like.. a ten percent chance Xarkana was so annoyed at me she'd try to get at me and.. " Deva hesitated, closing her eyes at the image of her holding a blood-stained sword-staff popping up in her mind unwantedly, the sword having the same white glow as her broom exuded at moments of hitting Mortemas base and shadow-form with full force...

"And geesh, let me tell you, my nightmares are not pretty. Theres stacks over stacks of numbers and paperwork no soft-drinks or cute plushie things at all.. brrr.."
She shivered, her wings fluffing up.

"Even the weakest fools can alert people STRONGER than us about the things you've told them... That's why you're such a problem when you keep telling them about this stuff..." Would be the man's only argument before he just began panicking about the man in the mirror, managing to explain himself a little bit before Xarkana's spell drove him into a frenzy of pure fear.

Otherwise he'd just continually fly around and try to get away from the mirror that just kept chasing him. Even when he tried closing his eyes he'd see the mirror somehow, he'd KNOW that it was there and that he didn't look good in any way. "GET IT AWAY! THAT'S NOT WHAT I LOOK LIKE AT ALL! IT CAN'T BE! NEVER!" It was actually a bit of a miracle that he just didn't accidentally slam himself into one of the destroyed buildings as he aimlessly tried to get away from the mirror. Were he in any state to think about things, he'd be extremely happy to know that Xarkana was gone from this whole story, but unfortunately he was too busy freaking out over the mirror. Mortema tried to get him to think things through even a little bit, but people weren't exactly perfect at confronting their worst fears. Or at least they weren't normally, some people were able to, but he wasn't one of them.

Mortema was at least focused enough to hear what Deva was saying and while it was a bit muted by the constant shouts of terror coming from her 'rescuer', she was still able to respond. "Sometimes you have to retreat. I would be of no use to them if you were to defeat me here and now. Someone must escape to be able to come back and save them once you start mistreating them! Mark my words, if any harm comes to my creations, and my daughter, I will find a way to defeat you... and I will not stop..." She may not have been strong enough now to defeat Deva, but if the ones she cared about came to harm because of someone else then she'd find some way to build up immense power, sacrificing anything of her own if necessary.

Afterwards though, the entire army of Monsters and the gathered humans would look up to what Deva was saying, all of them listening intently now that they had seen what was essentially a Goddess defeated by an angel. Many of them had been swayed by the strength she had shown, others wondered if she had some kind of answer to how things were going to work. Many had just been terrified of what the humans could do to them now, and had joined up with Mortema because they had thought that it was their only option. The humans were just as impressed, not just by the power that Deva had displayed, but also by the amount of intelligence, mercy, and actual care that came from her words. They were used to being told night in and night out that the entirety of monster kind planned their destruction, that they couldn't be reasoned with and planned to destroy them. Some, like Siegfried, were holding a deep and emotional grudge, but even he would listen to her words. Either way, all of them would be listening to Deva's words, some of them being legitimately inspired and swayed by the things that she said, and her own commitment to her ideals. The only person that didn't seem enraptured was Cheshire, who still bounced around a bit, though she did nod a bit to her words, agreeing with the things that she had to say about the situation they were all in.

The Tome would dispel Xarkana's spell quickly, the mirror disappearing and allowing him to think clearly now that he wasn't being constantly forced to look into himself as being anything but beautiful. Though he was still shaken and was looking around like he was trying to figure out what to do. "DAMN IT! MORON! MR. PERFECT AND ALL THAT! TIME TO GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!" Mortema would scream at him to bring him back, making the angel shake his head a bit and nod, still shaken by the horrifying thing that he had seen. But now that he was back, he'd immediately fly towards the portal he had created, pulling Mortema out of the dangerous situation that she was in and put an end to the threat of losing one of their higher ranking agents.

Cheshire would smile widely when Deva suddenly pointed at her, disappearing almost instantly... only to appear right next to Deva, still smiling a bit. "Oooh! You got me! Though technically I'M the 'wayward sister'... Well... Earthy doesn't really care about the human thing anymore, just wants to focus on her stuff... Metally is in the middle of her transition, so like... best to just leave her to sort that out... Watery just does whatever most of us do... Darky is closer to what our ideas normally are..." She would explain, hopping upside down before she continued, a bit more serious now that she had to explain what she was actually doing. "Who do ya think got this whole big party started? Well... I didn't! But I brought it up to the OTHER angel who got this whole big crowd together! I can't fight Darky, especially after she got all them 'Woosh Woosh Blarrgh Darkness' powers! So I did as much as I could to stop her... That's when you showed up! And I was like 'Ooooh! She could totally do this because she's also an angel'. So I guess technically I only spoke to two angels... But it worked!" She would protest a bit. Even with all the crazy stuff that she could do, she wouldn't have been able to deal with Mortema now that she had grown so much in power. "But you're right... I can't just hope on some stuff working out with Darky... I'll go poke Earthy after this and make a deal with her for a fair trade... If we leave Metally alone for a year or so she'll come around as well... Airy likes me... And if that's 4 of us then Watery will totally just agree with that!" She'd plan, having ideas of how to convince the others to just leave the humans alone at this point, maybe even help nurture something better.

"Alright... I totally owe you! Call me if you ever need some crazy weird and spectacular fun! Though if you call me anything mean I might just get all sour." She'd say, giving Deva a hug, her book glowing... rainbow? The book would sort of give a few random pulses of color before a page was added for Cheshire, where the name would change every few minutes, as the cat girl just decided to call herself something different. "Be careful out there... The worlds would be totally more boring if someone like you isn't around!" Cheshire would wink before letting the angel head out now, hopping around and heading out to better get things ready. "I will try to talk to Mother about that... but if she wishes to continue then there isn't anything that I can do about it..." Mortema's daughter would tell her quietly, not exactly sure what else to say to the person that had just been fighting her own mother. Sure, the fight was over now, but it just felt kind of awkward to the woman to speak about anything now.

Deva's tome would once again glow a bit as it began repairing the damage done to the story, working on gaining some more energy while also picking out another story to get to. Isa would give her companion a smile and actually blush a bit at the compliments for what she had managed to do. "Heh... Err... Thanks, but I didn't do that much. Just didn't want to fall under someone's influence all over again in case you needed my help... Though that Xarkana lady... geez... I know I say that I'd never wanna fight you, I think I'd prefer fighting you over her just a little bit... Never been great with fear." Both seemed like impossible opponents to overcome, but Isa would prefer being completely defeated rather than being forced to face terrible fears that she could barely imagine at this point. "Don't tell me what any of the other summons are though. If I know then they might manage to get the information from me, so best you just save them as surprises in case they become useful. So not only do you got all those summons in the Tome, but you have those cool ones too..." While she may have revealed that trump card, she at least had a really good number of summons in case she needed any help.

"Deva, my apologies, but I realized that I haven't informed you of one ability that I can accomplish. I doubt you'd want to use this power much, but it is good to know for the sake of knowing your enemy. I can call forth great weapons and items from stories by expending a bit of energy. Though it would take great amounts to do it from stories that have been fixed rather than absorbed, which is part of the reason that I doubt you'd be using this ability. But ________ can call forth nearly any weapon from the stories she's taken... I would suppose that would be her equivalent to summoning people from them." The Tome would explain to her, giving her some more information about her enemy, especially now that it realized that Deva made great work of just about any information that she got about her opponents. "I have located the next story... I can take us there whenever you are ready to go."

"Hoh, I like the sound of that." The angel chuckled..

"The key difference between us is that you conly consider a certain group worth of protection. I'd protect your kind and humans alike, as the need arises." Ironically, this motivation to sacrifice to protect Deva could very much emphatize with.

Deva fought a strong urge to ask for candy after her lenghty speeach
"By the by, everyone, the humans getting such strength means you -do - have to adress it. That said, even if theres conflict in the world around you, that doesn't mean there can be.. a resting of weapons. If it as me, I'd offer the humans a chance to rebuild this, in exchange for.. I dunno, ten pretty virting or whatever. Deva encouaged. She chuckled slightly.

"Crazy weirdness is always welcome, though, usually, I can provide it myelf." Deva, nodded. "...I'll ask if I need an excess though!" She grinned, then chuckled at the pretty rainbow-glowey book.

"You should make your mother stop. For her sake." Deva reaffirmed simply to Mortemas descendant, shouldering her broom and exhaling.
"Xarkana.. a woman who weaponized fear. Met her a while back, obviously she tried to scare me, I helped her heal a curse, long story. But.. trust me.. among my remaining allies is one you'd wish to fight even less." Deva said, ominously chuckling. "Oh but, yes, I keep secrets from you, not out of disrespect, but you are more suspectible to mental assault, sadly.." Deva nodded.

"Either way, the second of five trumps for me, Xarkana wont show up again but we learned a lot of important things, plus, one of the remaining ten will not be a problem after seeing him twice.. that said.. geesh. This secondary form Mortema could assume. If eve Valerie had something like that, I may well have lost in an all out fight. My.. specials all need a little.. set up time you see. Though I do wonder about the power of tomes.." That much she would tell.. and of course, a part of that, was dishonest too.

She glanced to her own tome, curiously. "You haven't told me a lot of things but I'm not one to pressure out answers without need.
Weapons huh? She might be acting as the benevolent protector to some, but seems a war leader for others. And all I got is this old broom."
The angel chuckled. "Problematic. just of the weapons I -know- many can be dangerous.. oh well.. Let's head on to the next world!" She waved to Cheshire and the assorted humans and monsters, aquiering Isas chest, before letting the planar-shifting take hold.

"You know..." Deva mused, looking at Isa. "This is exciting. Sure.. I rather want a calm, peaceful life, but consider.. theres ten folks stronger than that, serving th cloaked one, stronger in mind, body, or ability, and we need to assume that that number is not gradual.. whilest no.9 and no.8 might be quite close, there could be a huge jump from the cloaked ones top four top no number three." Deva chuckled.

"Then again, numbering and powers matter little. In conviction, Mortema matched me, in raw power she far exceeeded me, but for one, she had just this one trick, for two, it feels like she could always overwhelm people by her sheer strength and presence alone... what is it, with those villains and flaunting their powers, you got any idea. I mean.." Deva crossed her ams, looking at Isa for a moment with the tome doing its thing.
"I mean, seriously, what are they thinking? If you flaunt such powers all you will do is awaken jealousy, fear.. sure, some might be in awe at your valor or whtever, but .. I don't want people to love me so much they'd die for me. Here, now that we are changing stories I might as well show you." Deva mused, putting her hat away, straightening her shoulders.. and exhaling. Her entire body engulfed by a white glow, her broom reforming to be an odd, half curved glaive-spear, dress taking on a silvery mixture of armor and garmetns that still looked comfortable, eyes glowing with a power that didn't demand, no, that deserved to be worshipped, just a glance making Isa hesitate about all the evil she had done, she had to repent, had to repent to this mighty vision of pure, heroic and benevolence and light itself. Where Mortema had inspired fear, Deva, not holding inside her powers, could inspire.

"But whats the point?" Deva exhaled, the energy dissipating as she reached out to put her hat back on, hiding the broom in an illusion.. or perhaps the weapon and armor had been the illusions, as she gave a conspiratory smile to Isa.
Remember how Mortema was shaking and angry and frightened, even with all that power? Deep down, these agents are still mortal, with dreams and hopes and wishes. All of these we have met are readily transparent. Even the cloaked one has some sort of.. drive, even if I do not yet recognize it... pfeww.. haah.. "[/COLOR] Deva sways for a moment, opening the tome to relax herself with a little reading of new worlds.. "Sorry.. doing this.. energetic look is rather exhausting for one like me, who lacks the strength to really back it up. Heh." Deva chuckled, adjusting her hat.

"But taking items from the stories you destroyed? Thats bad news. I got my own collection of do-dats, but.. theres a lot of dangerous.. powerful tools.. ugh. Better push the cloaked one further faster than she expects it."

"There's never such a thing as too much crazy weird fun to be had! Call me if you ever need more, I owe you lots for this one." Cheshire would tell Deva with her wide grin, hoping that there'd be some fun in her future, especially if she got called up by Deva. She'd really need some kind of fun considering how much boring talking and convincing was in her future. Her sisters were kind of hard to convince, and many of them were still dealing with things that they wouldn't understand for a long time. But at least things were looking up now that the worst threat to humanity was dealt with, even if it was temporary. "Welp! Bye bye! Enjoy whatever world you end up in next!" And then she'd hop around and head teleport out to another building, where she'd pat what looked like a silver haired angel on the shoulder, the girl looking over everything that happened with a hopeful smile on her face. They'd both wave at Deva as she left, their way of saying thanks for dealing with what was one of the greatest threats to humanity and peace in general.

"I've got no problem with you keeping a few things from me. You never know what the enemy might manage to find out if I knew everything." Isa would agree, having a more practical view when it came to this kind of thing. She had already seen that her enemies could manage to control her, so it'd probably be better if she didn't know all the plans that Deva had. Plus, she didn't want to risk anything when it came to stopping the Cloaked One, so if that meant that she'd be in the dark on some things, then that was just the way that things had to be. "Geez... You've got some really crazy allies then. I suppose if you're as good as you, then there'll be some really powerful people that owe you a favor or two." The only person that owed her any kind of favor was Serp, and she doubted she'd have any chance to collect on that debt once they were all returned to their own stories.

"My apologies if I haven't divulged enough information to you, Deva. However, I will remind you that anything that you wish to know, so long as it is within my knowledge, you can simply tell me to give you that information. As stated, I do not actually have the choice to refuse you, and I don't mind giving information... Kind of the point of a book, right? Either way, if there is anything specific that you wish to know, all you have to do is ask." The Tome would let her know, not wanting the angel to be too upset about the things that it hadn't told her yet. Some of it was just personal things that it didn't see much need to give to her, and some of it were things that it hadn't yet remembered to tell her. "I promise that I am not trying to deceive you when I do not give certain pieces of information. And once again, if there is anything in particular that you need to know, I can give that information to you." It may choose not to give away certain things, but it would have no choice should its wielder give it an order.

"I mean... I suppose that there is definitely variety through all this... No lack of challenges for you to pit yourself against..." The ice mage would answer, not having the same level of excitement to knowing that even more powerful opponents would await them. "Can't tell you what I used to be like, but I know that right now I really don't want all that crazy power. I'd prefer just to be able to adventure a bit, not have to do the whole 'protect everyone from the mighty monster' thing that I see all the time. But if something that threatening comes along, I suppose that I'd want enough to be able to stop it." Just because she wanted to not fight and not have to save people, if she had to then she'd be more than ready to do everything that she could to save people. That was before Deva suddenly showed what she could really do, her eyes going wide as she realized just how powerful and incredible that Deva really was. She looked into those eyes, and almost on impulse she fell to her knees for a moment. Partially because she had already used up a lot of willpower to not do so against Mortema, and partially because she already admired Deva a lot more than she admired the progenitor. Though that would quickly dissipate as she realized what was happening, and Deva returned to normal. She'd stand herself back up, looking a bit surprised even after it was all done.

After all of that, the Tome would bring them to the new story. She was standing on wood, and looking around there was water all around the massive ship that she seemed to be standing on. They were at sea, on top of a ship with a large black flag flying on the mast. That flag had the symbol of a skull, but rather than the crossbones that one might expect, there were two roses, one red and one blue crossed under the skull. Though, before Deva even had the chance to check her Tome to learn about the story, people would suddenly rush out through a few doors on the ship and surround her. Most of them looked rather tough, having scars across their faces and arms as they drew their swords to surround Deva. "Well what 'ave we 'ere? Some lil Birdie gone got 'erself in danger?" The crowd surrounding the two of them would part, and a man would step through.

The pirate captain walked through and looked the two of them up and down for a few moments. "Heh ha HA! Birdie is right lookin at them wings a yours! Maybe the lil Birdie is 'ere to try n take our ship!" The man would shout, the crowd laughing a bit at his joke. "We either gonna throw em in the brig or feed em to the sharks, whaddya say men?! Who 'ere is up for a show?!" A few would let out a loud cheer again before he gave them another look, his smirk growing some more. "Or maybe we gets ourselves a bit o fun first? The birdies in the brig still got too much fight in 'em..." The man laughed some more. "CAPTAIN! UNMANNED VESSEL OFF STARBOARD SIDE!" One of the few not in the crowd shouting, a tiny, one person boat just sitting in the sea next to them, no one inside of it. "Oh come on now boys! You didn't think you were getting away from me THAT easily, did ya?" A womanly voice would call out from somewhere, before Deva would hear a thud of boots landing on the wooden deck.

The woman had long blonde hair, a long flowing cape, and a blue feather in her pirate hat. There was a cocky and almost jovial expression across her face as she on the deck. "You know... I'd have thought you boys would learn by now to NEVER leave me with a boat. If I have to paddle that thing across the 12 seas to track you down and get MY ship back then I will and I'll do it with style! Especially when there are a few lovely ladies present!" The woman smirked, giving Deva and Isa a wink before she suddenly rushed forward into the crowd, drawing her sword to simply fend off the crowd of pirates, not stabbing, but just using it to block other swords before she'd trip a few of them and knock one or two out, a whirlwind in a crowd of pirates. Eventually she'd knock an opening out in the crowd that had surrounded Deva and Isa, laughing heartily as she kept fighting and taking advantage of the disorganized crowd of pirates. "If you two Poppets could do me a favor and head below deck to the brig, my crew should be down there. I'm gonna be a bit busy with these silly boys up here!" The woman would ask, ducking as a sword came forward to try and stab her.

"Hey Eddie! You gotta do a better job of training these boys if they can't even hit one lowly woman!" She'd taunt at the man that had been talking to them, eliciting a growl and making him charge forward as well, distracting the pirates and giving Deva and Isa a chance to either escape or head down to the brig and free the crew that were being held down there. Though with the larger pirate coming forward, the huge mass fighting her would part to let him through, leading the two of them to be face to face. "Ye wanna duel lil missy? I'll show ya what a real man can do!" He reached to his sides and pulled out two blades, pointing one at the pirate woman as the two charged at each other, dueling back and forth with a more even level of skill. "Oh Eddie! You finally learned to hold a sword! Maybe you can give me a challenge this time! Or maybe I'll kick ya off MY ship and take back MY map piece! How about you show your boys what a real pirate looks like!" She would duck and block his strikes, not even hitting back, as though she were just trying to buy herself some time. Plus she wasn't entirely big on killing people, even if they were filthy ship thieves. "Catching a girl while she's sleeping! I can't believe you'd be that rude... Sad thing is though... you dun sunk your own ship trying to kill me! Ya ain't got anything to go back to once I kick you off this place... Maybe I'll drop you off to the Hinterian Navy and collect the bounty, eh?!" She'd taunt, still dodging and weaving.

"Eh, I might get captured too, luckily, anyone reading my mind first needs a map. And to watch out for minotaurs." Deva nodded sagely. She chuckled about her allies. "Well.. It all depends on how you define power. But there is one just as powerful as me among the things I can summon, albeit briefly, yes. But.. it's a one time thing. We got a lot of valuable things out of this fight, so I don't mind but I couldn't summon Xarkana again, not without owing -her- one and I don't want that." She nodded.

"I can tell you to give me information, but I don't want to." Deva informed the tome. "Not how I operate. For one, its more important to learn things on your own, for two, I'm not yet sure how reliant on you I want to become, for my own sake. I mean I have questions to be clear, but I'm used to finding my own answers. I'm sorry if that is disappointing, I don't often ask questions, like 'can you do that too??' because I already figure the answer is 'yes'. " She shrugged and patted the tome. "Also, I don't like the magic binding you to do what your owner tells you by necessity. I figure its the type of magic that works until I relinquish you, so no one can snatch it. usual mage-nonsense.
Would you like to be free?"
She finally asked, chuckling at the book, before looking over to Isa, though, oddly, her smile faded with the ice-mages words.

"Now you understand a bit of how I feel." She explained, her blazing eyes hidden under her hat. "All the things you've seen our foes boast about, all this power they crave, the power to change and rule worlds.. I've already had it. All this does is it makes you forget how .. normal people are.

Imagine, if you will, an ant that grows to be a human to protect its anthill. So many crave such power, but if ever they were to reach it, they'd realize they can never go back to the anthill."
Deva made a point of looking at Isa. "They can never look at the other ants as anything more than that. Worse, in time, they might not even care about a person stepping on an ant, after all, there is hundreds of anthillls for them to watch over." Knowing what she knew who Isa really was, she told her that for a larger reason than just melancholy.
"That is the most important lesson to remember and the second hardest task for a goddess. The hardest.. perhaps I'll tell you in due time, but the most important lesson of being powerful.. is you can be just like everyone else without power, if you just learn control and restraint." Deva lifted her broom, her blinding sharp guisarme, cutting down with it in a swift motion at Isas neck and..

The brooms bristles lightly tickled the ice-mages neck. "Heh.. something to remember if ever you accidentially turn into a godess." Deva winked, smiled, and turned, before Isa could notice her expression being just a hint more serious than it should be. "Long explanation for it's not the size, but the technique of the power you display. heh?" She nodded.

Then, her little demonstration over, she looked around curiously. "Oooh.. is that a pirate ship? Awesome, second one I've been on!" Deva grinned brightly, raising her hands as she was surrounded, her grin only brightening as.. apparently a pirate clash unfolded before them!

"Hoooh. ok, Isa, you heard them, go free the folks, you're better at putting locks on ice anyway... I gotta see err.. make sure this is under control!" Deva enthused, watching the duelling.. considering the piratess disabled the pirates without hurting them she must have quite a lot of skill.

Deva took a step backwards, leaning against the ships reiling with a cheerful grin, one man in her way 'Accidentially' stumbling to the ground between a well placed broom and a wing-stretching. "Wait hold on, he said birdies in the brig, called me a birdy, wanted to have fun..would that mean.. no matter." She leaned back, watching the woman enthusiastically,

"Yo ho ho they are coming for you, I can see three pirates on the ocean.(well more like thirty, but.. lyrics)"

Overall, simply being content watching the show, though keeping her broom ready to subtly trip/intercept any nasty strikes the woman couldn't block. If things seemed to be going well for the same she leaned over to the nearest rugged man, whispering.: "Geesh, at this rate you ought to take some sorta pretty hostage.."

"Yep... Not gonna mess with you if I can help it..." Isa would comment, her ideas cemented now that she knew how many tough people owed Deva a favor. Not only did she have all the people they had already met in her Tome, now she also had to remember to be careful of whoever else the angel had up her sleeve.

"It's fine by me if you don't wish to make me tell you things, thank you for the consideration. You remind me very much of my last owner in that respect. Not only do you like to find the information yourself rather than relying on the ones that I give you, but you also don't wish to force me to do anything I don't wish to. Thank you... As for being 'free', not in the traditional sense. If you were to 'free' me then I'd disappear from you completely, and would once again return to my resting state until I found someone else. I'd much prefer to still be 'yours', as so far I think you are the most worthy wielder across all stories. But if I had a choice, I'd only wish to be used to protect the fabric of these stories. A comfy shelf, a good conversation every now and then, and maybe a chance to see something beautiful. That's all I've really wanted at this point." The Tome would explain, showing why it wouldn't want to be 'free'.

Isa would grow quiet as Deva got truly serious, a chill running down the ice mage's spine as she saw not just the wisdom the angel had, but the burden that she had likely shouldered for ages. She was the person looking down on so many ant hills, struggling to remember the importance of those ants, to remember that every single one of them was a life, was an individual that before she would've known. This was what it was like to have power to that extent, struggling just to remember what it was like to be one of the many ants. Though you could learn to be among them once again so long as you learn restraint. The ice mage would flinch as the blade was brought down on her, suddenly looking up when she felt the bristles of a broom instead. "I'll be sure to remember that... In case I ever end up with Goddess power AGAIN." She returned the smile before readying herself for the story.

"Got it! Somewhere down in the brig... Just be careful out here, never know what might happen!" Isa wouldn't seem to catch on to Deva's ulterior motive, running through the door to bring her below deck, a wall of ice solidifying behind her in case anyone was trying to chase her through. "Geez... You boys learn how to hold a sword TODAY?! Because otherwise this is pretty sad." The pirate woman would taunt some more, dodging and weaving through their strikes and stabs, blocking and parrying with grace. It definitely seemed like the woman had incredible skill, as such a large crowd of enemies was almost nothing to her. Even had she not suddenly challenged the other captain, she would've likely made quick work of most of the crew. "How on earth do a bunch of sorry sods like you get a bounty of 100,000 gold on yer heads?! Are ya just the world's best at taking candy from children or something?!" Another dodge as someone tried to get a good slice in, trying their very best to shut the woman up.

"Alright Lassie... Enough o yer crap! Ain't no way yous gettin outta this one." "Oh please Eddie-" "IT'S EDWARD!" "Right right... Anyway Eddie, we all know you don't stand a chance in a fair fight with me, that's why ya gotta resort to all them cheating tactics! Can't hold a candle to me and you know it!" She continued to taunt him, keeping even with the pirate captain, but a trained eye would notice that she was actually holding back quite a bit as she kept pace with the man. The woman had already spotted dozens of openings that she could've used against him, but she just kept things going. In reality she wanted to keep the pirates preoccupied, because if they were fighting her, then they weren't threatening her crew. Essentially by keeping the fight going, she ensured that her opponents wouldn't think quick enough to grab any kind of hostage from her crew. "Ooooh... Did little Eddie get better at fighting while I was gone? Or did he just get his big brother in her to try and deal with me?!" She'd laugh at him, blocking a hit and ducking as the man tried to follow up the blocked strike.

Which in turn meant that things were going well enough for Deva to not need to get involved in any way for the woman to keep a steady lead against the other pirates. Though once she brought up the idea for a hostage, the tough looking pirate would realize that they weren't fighting smart. He'd immediately grab Deva, holding her in a powerful grip and drawing his sword close to her neck. "HEY! KNOCK IT OFF YA DAMN BITCH OR I CUT THIS LIL GIRLIE'S THROAT!" The fighting would stop for a bit as everyone turned to look at the man, seeing Deva held made the other pirates confident that they had won. "Well would ye lookie 'ere. I figure ye oughta surrender now before the poor lil birdie over there loses 'er 'ead!" The man would threaten, watching as the pirate woman held her hands up as though she were surrendering, walking back as the pirates advanced on her with their swords. They backed her up closer and closer to the body of the mast, her hands still in the air to show that she was definitely surrendering. While she could handle a lot when it came to a fight, she had no plans of putting someone else's life in danger with her actions. "Damn... Alright boys... Ya got me on that one... Guess I got no choice here..." Then she felt behind and realized that she had been backed up against the mast, gripping a rope.

Then she spun around and cut another rope, the one she was holding pulling her up and allowing her to swing past the crowd that was trying to surround her. She'd swing on her rope, cutting an impressive figure as she quickly swung over, kicked the burly pirate holding Deva in the chest, and picking up Deva in her arm as she swung by, pulling Deva into the air with her in one swift motion. "Got no choice but to do a little bit of damage to my ship that is!" The woman laughed as she swung with Deva in one arm, giving her a confident and reassuring smile as they swung by. Then she'd place Deva up by the wheel of the ship, out of the way of the other pirates. "How about ya stay up here out of trouble. Surprised that you just sent your friend below deck. Wanted to stay and fight, cutie?" She'd ask with another wink, hopping down right below where Deva was, drawing her blade again, this time planning on specifically guarding Deva from the oncoming pirates.

A huge explosion would be heard below deck, the ship shaking a bit as the sound rung out around them. "HA HA! Sounds like Lucy's been sprung! Careful now... she's probably dying to give you guys a little bit of payback after this. You're just lucky that we have a strict 'no kill' policy even with bilge rats like you... Though I wonder how long it'll be until Zana gets released. You guys wanna be up here when that happens?" She'd taunt a bit before ducking and kicking one of the pirates that took a swing at her. "So, wing gal, other than the dressy looking one... Ya bring any friends to this party?" She would casually ask while fighting off two of the pirates that came after her.

"Funny tomey.. a lot like what I want.. well, not the shelf bit, also, nice mistress perhaps, long story.." She smiled a little at that. "Just telling you in case you find me making hand-mimicking with the next 'rule it all!' villain we run into." Deva told Isa, as if that was all. And thats not the worst trial of a deity.. not quite.. anyway, lets see where we go.

Deva leaned back, watching the piratess taunt, even adding in a "Woo! Tell 'em!" Deva chuckled, observing.. holding back was good, because, even superior skill, against many, could not always fight for long if there wasn't more backing such ability up. But She was happy observing either way. The angel grinned, lifting her hands and cooed: "Oh no, poor helpless me has been captured by these bloodthirsty savages, someone help me.. oh hold on there.." She reached out with her hand, adjusting the arm of the pirate aiming at her neck. "I know it looks all intimidating to hold it straight, but to actually be dangerous you want to hold it at a slight angle, the way do it you'd give me an ugly scar but you want to bleed me out.. well, threaten to anyway, if you do it, you wont have a hostage left." Deva suggested, taunting in her own way. "Oooh.." She watched the swinging, pulling her wings in close(they were actually quite good air-stoppers if not moved right) and swooning apropriately. "Oooh my dashing heroine!" Looking at the piratess she shook her head. "Nah, wanted to get taken hostage AND rescued by a pirate in one go." Deva mused, before the explosion. "I knew it. by those names.. you .. are a lesbian pirate group!" She beamed. "Anyway... can't just let myself be defended all day as amazing as this is." She nodded, still watching the piratess.. and suddenly hopping down. "Don't worry, I can fight too! Hiaa! Hah." She threw air-jabs of questionable efficency. Luckily, there was a particular drunken style perfect for this. She grinned, pushing out her chest at the first sailor, raising her firsts in an inept fighting stance, only to swish one foot between his legs.. and kick it upwards, at the same time that he was.. distracted.. delivering a precision blow with her elbow to his temple.

"Eeep!" She made, quickly rushing away from the armed respone, cooing at the captain. "P..p.. protect me!" Holding onto her back all weak and lady-like, jumping away from a swung sword with another. "Mieep get away!" spinning on her heels and into the pirates range, 'Acidentially' elbowing his side hard, then, coyly lifting her hands, pushing him into one of his comrades as he doubled over. Drunk immortal rejects the advances of lesser men. She thought, coyly covering her mouth in pronouncedly effeminate movements, two fingers coming out to poke at the next opponents eyes.. the female immortal style lacked the brutality of the males but made up for it with dirtier moves. "Ohoho.." She laughed under one hand held up high to her lips, femininly whispering over. "They really aren't that good." Drunken immortal faints at the barberism of her enemies. She thought, spin-falling forward, at the same time dodging a weapon and punching at the nearest enemies gut, mieeping as the twirling made her dress ride up high, revealing her pale skin and pink sex, mentally adding.: Drunk immortal defends her decency! As she kicked anyone.. but the piratess that dared to try and lean in for a look at the helplessly splayed out female, thrashing her arms pointlessly for most and to increase the kinetic energy in her legs for those that could read such movements.

"Help, help, they are being indecent!" She shouted, whilest being surrounded by not so happy pirates, if her attacks had hit true, two of them had been knocked out and two more weren't in the mood to approach.... and all the while, Deva managed to keep up the act of lying there all helpless and ravage-able.

The piratess would turn and give Deva another flirty wink as she was cheered on for her taunts and insults. While she was definitely focusing on her fighting and keeping pace with her opponents, it was always important to take some time to flirt and have some fun. Her having fun might even make the pirates angrier and try to fight her even more. "Ha HA! Is that all any of you got? Come on, you had me as good as dead a few days back, and now that I'm here with just a sword and my wit, you can't even lay a hit on me?" Ducking and weaving, blocking and parrying, all in fluid motions to ensure that not a single scratch landed on her. The less people could hit her, the more determined they became to kill her, which in turn kept them focused on her even though someone was already working on freeing her crew. "Eddie oughta whip you boys into shape! I guess that's rough though since he isn't even in any fighting shape himself!" The pirate holding Deva would look really confused when she gave him some advice on how to properly threaten her, taking it anyway since it was some actually pretty good advice. The pirate held her a bit closer when Deva swooned, smiling confidently. "Don't you worry my cute little maiden, you're under the protection of Jade Morgan, the soon to be Pirate Queen!" She'd reassure Deva, holding her close for a little longer before returning to the situation at hand. "Lesbian is such a strong word... We're just... more appreciative of our womanly bodies... Don't mean we ain't got any guys around here though..." Wasn't easy to find an exclusively female crew, after all. "Oh my... A maiden who can fight! Must be my lucky day!" Jade would compliment as she watched Deva take out one of the other pirates, admiring the clever bit of tactics.

Of course, such an attack wouldn't be appreciated by all the armed and angry pirates in the middle of fighting Jade. A few of them would try to rush Deva in response, only to find themselves being fought off by the pirate captain that had already been adequately dealing with them. "Don't you worry, little lady! I don't think I could forgive myself if a pretty face like yours got scarred. Back you fiends!" Jade was naturally protective of pretty ladies, giving Deva's shoulder a quick rub before fighting the men back. "Mmmmmm... Now I'm not complaining... but you keep acting like this and I don't know if I'll be able to keep my concentration on fighting..." The piratess would joke, giving Deva a quick glance as she fought her opponents. Despite her words, however, she seemed to be doing a great job of keeping the pirates back while talking with Deva. A few more of the men would get knocked out, surprised by Deva's erratic movements, unable to tell if she was fighting them or just somehow stumbling into strikes. That was when her dress was torn, and a few of the pirates would try to get a look, only to be punished for those efforts. Jade, however, leaned in to get a better look, a faint blush coming to her cheeks as she grinned and gave Deva yet another flirty wink. "Normally I have to put a lot more wine into a lady before I get a view like this..." She'd joke some more, pulling her eyes away for a moment to block a sword strike that had nearly hit her.

A few pirates would get hit as they tried to approach Deva, clearly with some ill intents in mind. Once Jade noticed that, she'd rush over to once again defend Deva, fighting off anyone that was trying to get close with renewed energy. "Have you no shame?! Attacking a lady in a state of undress like this, you should all be ashamed of yourselves! Such a beautiful sight should be reserved to a passionate and lustful night of drinking and revelry, not your foolishness!" She would scold the lot of them, twirling about and landing a kick to the side of one of their heads to knock them out. While they were making progress there were still so many pirates to deal with. And while skill wise they outmatched all of them, Jade would eventually get tired if she was fighting all of them.

That was when they'd hear a stomping sound coming from underneath them, like someone heavy was stomping right below deck. "Good news for me, bad news for them... Seems they got my first mate free from the brig. Hey! Eddie! How many chains did ya need to hold her down?! She's got a lot of experience with bondage, so I imagine rope would be nowhere near enough!" Jade would quip as the stomping grew louder and louder. Then there'd be a pause, the stomping would stop completely, and if Deva looked she'd see a few of the pirates actually beginning to shake in fear. Suddenly the ice wall that Isa had put behind her when she ran below deck would explode and scatter about as someone broke right through it with what looked like almost no effort. Ice would fly all over the place, mostly flying off the ship and landing in the water. Jade would smile even wider, knowing that the tide of battle was about to turn in her favor even more than it had already been.

A blue skinned woman with four arms would rush through the ice wall and look around the deck. She wore a red jacket, and had the markings of a first mate on her clothes. Her eyes would glow blue with a bit of magical energy as she calmly surveyed the situation that everyone was in. "Zana! What on earth took you so long?! The party has been going for quite a while now! Been dealing with drunk guests, and even managed to find myself a lady friend!" The woman's emotionless face would break into a slight smile. "Sorry about that Captain. I was momentarily incapacitated by them. But Lucy and the one called Isa freed me. Ms. Lucy figured I'd be of more use up here while they rescue the others." "Heh... That's Lucy for ya isn't it? Always got a good head on her shoulders." The four armed woman would pull out swords, having one in each hand as she rushed into battle, dodging far less than Jade, instead blocking attacks and disarming her enemies with precision since fighting her was like fighting four swordsmen at once. Jade would lean down and whisper to the angel while Zana was providing an adequate distraction. "That's Zana. Best fighter on this ship... Don't let the cold look fool you... She's a real freak when you get her in bed. Plus you can do all sorts of fun things with four arms" She explained.

"Any chance on surrendering yet, Eddie? Just give me my map piece, and YOUR map piece and I'll let you go. Won't even turn you in to the Hinterians! We could drop ya off at The Isle and you'll be free to try and fail to do this all over again!" Jade would offer. "Fuck off ya bitch! I'll 'ave your 'ead before I surrender to ye! MEN! Focus on the blue one! Knock 'er out an' she ain't gonna 'ave a chance!" Though that was easier said than done, as Zana was currently fighting through the ranks of the pirates, leaving almost no openings for them to exploit. "Your friend works really fast, by the way! Glad she already got Zana out, otherwise this might've been a bit more difficult. You two are clearly more than Eddie took ya for!" She would compliment, still keeping the people close by off of her, which was slowly consisting of less and less people as they began to focus on Zana or get knocked out by the pirate captain.

Deva grinned, observing the skilled piratess fight, happily swooning on. "Ooooh a queen!" She chuckled, keeping her disjointled battle-stance. "Appreciative pirates. I see."

She grinned, kind of enjoying being the one being defended for a change, affirming: "Yeah you fiends. Bueh!" Whilest showing her tongue. "Now now miss appreciative queen, don't get distracted.." Deva advised, coily holding her dress up and stabbing her elbow into another pirates gut with the same motion. Sure, she could easily cast a mending spell on her dress, but why would she? Deva did however briefly consider getting a little more serious.. a lucky blow might find the piratess, sure she could heal injuries, but that might end up being messy.

"Ooh. Four arms!" Was Devas astute observation. "Hello!" She waved to the piratess. "Ohoho my, kinky." She mused at the captains explanation. "Oh so thats why you are here.." She noted about map-pieces. "Well, luckily I already snatched this guys map-piece earlier." Deva affirmed, pulling out her tome and pat-patting it, actually using a minor illusion to create an image of a map-like shape in it. "But as for who I am.. really, I'm not a fighter.. just a supporter. Been a long while since I could." She nodded, stepping up to the four-armed one, one hand placed on her back.
" Increase sexyness. " Deva exhaled, leaning back. "Nothing wrong with watching a strong gal do all the heavy lifting for ya... wait. Almost forgot." Deva relaxed, leaning back. This was what she had been good at from the very beginning, letting someone else lead the frontline.

"Well... 'Soon-to-be' Queen! Gotta find The Treasure first before I can call myself the actual Pirate Queen..." Jade would say, seeming a bit embarrassed by the fact that she wasn't technically the pirate queen yet. Though that thought would fade from her mind as she had to concentrate a little more on blocking a few incoming strikes, some of the pirates starting to gang up on her and time their swings so that they all came at her at the same time. "Very appreciative! Curves all over the place and really soft skin is pretty much the best!" The piratess would further explain, more than happy to talk about her love of women.

The piratess would do a very good job of defending Deva, having a great deal of experience defending ladies from mean pirates. A good few of the pirates would get an even angrier look on their face when Deva stuck her tongue out at them, making Jade chuckle a bit and give the angel a quick thumbs up in the middle of combat. "Heh! You're a natural at making these bunch of land lubbers angry! A maiden after my own heart!" She'd joke, suddenly ducking a sword slash that she shouldn't have been able to see coming, but her own combat instinct helped her see it coming. And that duck she'd transition into a sweep kick to knock the pirate to the ground, hopping back to her feet with a cocky grin. "Hard not to get distracted by a lovely lady in such a beautiful state of dress! Perhaps I should instate a new dress code for the crew! Heh... But that'd probably end with a mutiny... Or me handcuffed to the mast in my underwear... Maybe both!" Part of it was because she enjoyed joking and being flirty, but she also liked making this form of conversation because it served to annoy her opponents even further. From the looks of it, the rude pirates were having absolutely NO luck whenever they tried to land a hit in on the woman, as she was just too nimble for any of them. In fact, if she looked close, Deva could see that Jade was more toying around and ENJOYING the entire fight rather than holding her own by the skin of her teeth like a normal skilled swordswoman. "Geez Eddie... It's like you're not even trying to win! Come on! I just paddled the whole way here in a life boat and you STILL can't beat me?"

Zana would look over to the angel when she commented on the four arms, flexing one of them a bit and giving her a smile at her observation. "Quite kinky! Just be careful, she's really into all that crazy bondage stuff. One night I forgot the safe word... THAT is one experience I don't plan on repeating! It's 'Blue Pumpkins' by the way... She caught on when I kept shouting things like 'blue squash' and 'blue watermelon'..." It seemed the blue woman had heard that as well, because her face would get a gentle hint of red as the captain spoke of that incident. "Speaking of which... You guys realize that SHE hurt me way more in that night than you guys have your entire pirate lives?!" For a moment she would pause and look at Deva's map piece, seeming genuinely interested as she looked at the angel now. "Not sure how you managed to pull that off of Eddie... But it doesn't really matter right now. After all, this is still MY ship that he's gone and stole. Good job though! You got a good head on your shoulders, any chance you'd wanna join the crew?" She'd offer, blocking a strike and disarming the man that tried to hit her right in the middle of her sentence.

Zana would smile as she felt magical energy flowing through her, confidence surging through her as she suddenly felt stronger and more protected than she had just a few moments ago. "Thank you. I'll make great use of that." Then she charged forward into the crowd of pirates, an absolute whirlwind of power, faster than any of them could keep up with, stronger than any of them could take, and too brave to be stopped by their large amounts of numbers. One of them almost got a strike in on her, but instead it just hit her clothing and didn't even cause a tear. Eventually she'd sheathe two swords and use the freed hands to lift and toss around a few of the pirates, knocking them out with extreme ease as she rushed through the crowd of pirates. A few of the men even dropped their swords when she saw what was essentially their worst nightmare. The pirate woman that had already devastated them before, now even faster with armor and more powerful strikes. Meanwhile, Jade even stopped fighting for a second, her mouth hanging open and her eyes going wide as she saw what her first mate could do when powered up with a good deal of magic. Though she'd quickly regain her composure, and start clapping. "Hahahaha! Excellent work their! You boys thought that Zana was scary before?! I suggest you lot surrender! Come on now! This is gonna get real tiresome, and the rest of my crew is in the middle of getting freed right now!"

"GRRRR DAMN YE! NEVER! WE'LL NEVER BOW TO YE!" Though his words were contradicted by his men, all putting their hands up in surrender after they found a threat that they just couldn't deal with. "COWARDS! DAMN ALL O YE TO THE DARKEST DEPTHS! I'LL FIGHT THESE GIRLIES MESELF!" Though right as he was about to charge forward at Jade, a blue fist came out of nowhere and slammed into the side of his face, dropping him to the ground. And before he could even start getting up, Zana would pull a coil of rope out of her suit and tie his arms and legs up, showing incredible speed and skill when it came to rope, just as Jade had said. "Phew... Alright then, thanks for the help!" She'd turn to Deva, take her hat off and bow in thanks to the angel. "Your assistance was much appreciated! If you don't mind me asking, where do you come from? Once I get this ship back in order, we could take you where you came from. It's the least I could do for a lovely maiden that helped fight off these fools. Or perhaps there is something else that you need of me?" The woman would ask, smiling a bit now that the fight was over.

"I'm super soft." Deva informed. She wasn't an exeptional beauty, but this part of her celestial blood played through.

"Heh, I know how to rub people the right way, what can I say?" She flirted with the piratess, chuckling at this particular pirate captain and crew, the angel tipping her chin. "Is there such a thing as blue pumpkins though?" She pondered, then chuckled at the piratess.. "Sorry, actually, didn't pull it off of him, I was using an illusion in the hopes of making him reveal where he got it, oh well, guess you two gotta be.. encouraging." Deva shrugged, then grinned.

"Oooh I wanna be a honorary pirate. Totally. Not staying for super long though, I got a thing to do and then I'll most likely be gone." She nodded.

Deva shielded her eyes in a gesture of interest, watching Zana flick the other pirates around. "You remind me of an old aquaintance you know, though you are less brutal." Deva mused, leaving one to ponder how brutal her aquaintance might be. "Well that was fun to watch. I didn't even need my healings, sorry if I overdid the magic a little, but the whole thing got me a little worked up.

Hmnn where I'm going?"
Deva pondered, rubbing her chin."Might as well tell you. I'm actually after the treasure as well, not for my own sake, you can have it, but so that I can make sure it's not used for nefarious purposes. I'm hunting down a powerful spellcaster and have reason to believe they will strike at you, right before you get the treasure.. So I'd like to disguise among your crew and form a counter-offensive.. oh, and.. hello, I'm Deva." Deva waved, tipping her own hat and mending her dress with a minor spell."By the way, mr.Edward, I can tell how strong someone roughly is by watching them fight, and Jade here was stronger than you all, whilest holding back. That kind of strength you don't get from simple training, but from devotion to a cause. But want to know a scary thing?" Deva raised her hand at the captain. "She and Zana are not the only dangerous women on this ship.. " Deva chanted, The pirate captain suddenly shifting, growing a fluffy tail, big bunny ears, hair coloring blonde, the captains outfit shifting into a revealing the captains thought processes changing, growing happy and giggly as .. her mind adjusted to .

Afterwards, crossing her arms, and looking over the crew. "So then. I usually don't like picking on the defeated, but also want that map I'll consider myself honorary crewmember.." Deva cleared her throat, questioning: "I'll be honest me hearties, this kind of magic isn't so easily woven, so who knows how many more spells like this I be having. Then again, perhaps ye be feeling lucky today ye bleedin' scallywags. Arrrrr there any more mutineers that wish to cause the captain trouble? Nay? Well then, captain, what be your orders for this sorry lot.. oh and, the spell I used will be permanent, feel free to initate Edys into the crew." Deva grinned and bowed.
