After a massive defeat at the hands of honeybees, Ziva's nest was all but destroyed. Her sisters, as well as herself, scattered after they were nearly utterly destroyed. The two forces had been fighting for some time, but somehow, the honeybees got a drastic advantage in both strategy, and manpower. After a long, terrible battle, it was soon obvious that the honeybees had the advantage. Any blow they dealt, the honeybees simply retreated, being replaced with new, fresh troops, while the wounded regenerated themselves with their honey.
Days later, Ziva as well as other surviving hornets were placed in charge of protecting, and rebuilding the new hive. While the Queen matured, they were very vulnerable to attack, which, to their dismay, the honeybees took advantage of. They were attacked once more, the honeybees looking to exterminate their rivals. Ziva and the others put up their best defense, but it was not enough. Ziva was wounded during the fight, her wings nearly chopped off, and a spear caught in her rib cage. She fell down to the earth, and collapsed...
When she awoke, likely surprised to be alive, she saw that any hope of rebuilding the nest now, was gone... Fortunately, for her own life at least, the honeybees must have assumed she was dead. Removing the spear from her body, she was wounded, and worst of all...
All alone...
However, there was still a slime chance for her hive to see a new dawn. Being the last hornet alive of her hive, if she were to mature, and find a mate, she would be able to become the new Queen, and restore her hive's honor...
She was forced to wait, and recover her wounds. Her wings were gone, and it would be a long time before she'd grow them back, so she was forced to walk like the creatures of the ground and soil. Once her wounds were gone, she set out on her quest to create a new hive...
Some days more, filled with the painfully slow travel of walking on foot, still being unable to fly, her adept senses caught the sight, and smell of a feline, a half-human, with animal features... This was one of the first lone men she'd found thus far, and her instincts, even with the hive being gone, were telling her to go to the human-feline, and mate with him...
