Jason is a member of the PLC Food Vat Control service firm. It's largely regarded as one of the worst jobs in the entire Alpha Complex. Tending to the thousands upon thousands of vats that make up the goopy synthetic foodstuffs that keep the lowest of clearance citizens fed from day to day. Stirring and maintaining proper enforced standards, this is clearly the bottom rung. Becoming a Troubleshooter is a dream come true for Jason, no doubt about it.

Some citizens are more equal than others, especially in the Armed Forces. These higher ups need bodyguards against the many attempts on their life.

These bodyguards are more equal than others. The armed forces bodyguards pay the Bodyguard Communications Liasons to be bodyguards for them! It's up to the BCL's to jump in front of a laser barrel for these guys and hope that the earnings they get are enough for the service firm to keep paying for their replacement clones.

Upgrading to a Troubleshooter is a god-send for someone like Reiko. Now Reiko gets to be the one shooting the lasers rather than getting shot at.
