Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"That's why I figured we'd go find where they are first, and then hit the leader when all the kobolds are poisoned." Kat said quietly with a shake of her head and a sigh. "I didn't say that we were going to rescue them first. Just figure out where they are so we can make our escape easier. There are three locations and they could be at any one at the moment. We need to kill a bit of time before we go after the leader for the poision to set in so I figure we might as well do something productive first."

Kat was still leading the group toward the closest of the points on gribbles map, planning to loop around immediatly after getting there to head toward the leader, which hopefully would also keep them as far away from the messhall as possible.

Xarkana The Vile

"Oh why do you mention this, fiendling. I was hoping to see our heroic rescuers send the beaten, raped and weakened hostages to fend for themselfs back through the wildernis, or even better, take them along as we fight the leader, why do you have to spoil my entertainment." Xarkana chuckled. "I've learned that most people need to indulge in their heroic folly a few times before they begin listening to me." Xarkana also thought it exeptionally risky to dawdle while the kobolds could realize what was happening and rally, but there were enough to take the brunt force of any attack coming her way for her to mind much.

Being told to be quite by Kat, made her realize how foolish she was acting right now. She stopped stomping around like a crazy woman, and stopped right in her tracks. Weiss collected her thoughts a little, and finally with a sigh she turned to the rest of the party. ''X-Xarkana is right… W-We should first kill the boss, a-and then save the women. I-I don’t want to admit it, b-but saving them now will only put us and them in danger.'' Weiss admitted. ''L-Let’s go to the boss first, a-and stay behind me. I-I can’t sneak as well as you guys, s-so I will act as bait.'' Weiss stated.

Gribbles shifted on his feet back and forth nervously. "I-it might be working, but we ain't to tell with the ruckus always going on. A-and... Tis alright if Gribbles doesn't fight? R-rather, I helped, yes?" he said, sounding a bit fearful. "D-don't want to fight the boss, don't want to fight brothers either. W-what if Gribbles escorted da girls to town! J-just took them there, and left them on the outskirts for your humies to find? T-they'd kill poor Gribbles after all." he offered.

Meanwhile, a drunken goblin was stuttering by, his shoulders bouncing off of the walls, he took one look at the girls, particularly Xarkana, and pointed his finger at her. "B-back to da pole ya... Hic... humie... Groth... Khug... Hic!" he hiccuped, drunk and stupid and kept going past.

"...After hearing that much, I'm not sure if I want to listen to you anymore." Talia answered bluntly, grimacing. Entertainment her tailed ass. She didn't particularly care much about "doing the right thing", as many people put it, but pointless cruelty was pointless. "They could just as easily be at all three of them, kept separate. Meaning we'd have to hit all three places anyway. I'm not sure if there's much of a point to this look-see if all we're going to do is just double-back anyway."

Talia paused as she saw the goblin that suddenly appeared before the group, tensing in preparation for a fight. Only to stare at it, blinking, as it wandered away, piss-drunk and not caring about a thing. Shaking her head, she took a moment to look at Gribbles, frowning slightly as she tried to work out how sincere his proposition was.

"Fine, I'm outvoted. To the boss we go then." Kat quickly changed tracks, trying to get them to the boss without losing to much time from the small amount of detour they had taken, stepping around the drunk goblin that walked by as she lead the group to the final boss without doing any proper looting and getting of magic items first, how very unorthodox everyone was feeling today. "And wasn't figuring you were going to join us in fighting the orc anyways goblin. We're more then fine as it is."

Xarkana The Vile

Xarkanas calm expression turned into a grin for a moment, whispering over. "It'd be unwise to ignore my suggestions out of personal distaste. Yes, I am right. Now, hurry to the leader, before they manage to put one and one together and are rallied to the fight. The faster high priority targets are taken out in a war, the lower the cost of civilian life. Tactics and strategems IV." She quoted calmly, turning back to the way towards the leader, dangerous eyes focusing on the goblin, a hand half raised but lowering when it passed.

''Don’t worry Gribbles. I understand that you don’t want to hurt your fellow comrades. As long as you safely guide us to the boss, and warn us about any ambushes ahead, you won’t have to do anything more. You’ve already done a lot more than I expected from you, i-it would be nice if you could convince y-your fellow goblins to t-turn against the kobolds, o-once we killed the boss. A-At that point you should be outnumbering them, a-and then the goblins will get all rewards! Maybe, I-I will give you two rewards if you can do this for me.'' Weiss asked for Gribbles, hoping he help them prepare against the invasion a little bit more, while she made her way towards the boss, walking in front of everyone.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Gribbles started to do a very strange monkey dance and eagerly led the way forward, showing them the way to the boss.

Heading to the leader's room, they came upon a light source further ahead.

(Rolled for toxic, 12+his stealth which is good enough)

An unlikely pair, a goblin and a kobold, neither of which seemed to want to talk to each other. Behind them was a close portcullis, where the girls could hear a conversation between a male orc's voice and a strange harmonic female's. It was hushed, so it'd be hard to hear.

(The two enemies don't notice.)

Wisdom(Perception) roll to listen to the conversation.

Kat tries to listen in, her large ears tilting in the direction of the conversation. Unfortunately that was unlikely to help as she appeared to have to much fluff in them at the moment.

Xarkana The Vile

Xarkana too attempted to listen in, but at the same time, aimed at the Kobold from her hiding spot, ready to blast it if any of them got noticed.

Weiss assumed that Gribbles weird little dance meant he would try. She stopped when she saw the goblin and kobold, and urged everyone to come close to her. Weiss could hear a conversation in the distance, but wasn’t sure if she could understand what they were talking about. She closely listened, hoping to pick up something useful.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Talia tried to listen in, but the tiefling couldn't pick out a damn word. Shrugging, she figured she could at least prepare for what came next. The sorceress focused, preparing to blast the goblin in case something went awry and they got spotted somehow.

[Roll was utter shit, not worth mentioning.]

Talia's and Kat's ears picked up on a goblin masturbating furiously. Then they could no longer unhear it.

Kat's and Talia's ability checks are reduced by 1 for 5 minutes.
Other things heard are still to be determined, as the others listen in...

Kat crushed her ears against the sides of her head, trying to avoid hearing what she had already heard. Unfortunately the sound of the goblin wacking it still was stuck in her head as she instead focused on gripping her sword tighter in preparation for running out there and cutting the two creatures down as soon as the conversation had passed enough for them to go up and slaughter the minions.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Once the situation was calmed, Kiera made sure to glance around to make sure the coast was clear before taking her time getting down from the tree, relaxing herself from the height of battle, knowing better than to over-exert and end up crashing later. She ran the events over in her mind, trying to connect the things she saw happened and make sense of them, but then, making sense of magic...

Seeing the girls already talking to and taking care of the captive and Laya, Kiera scoped her way among the corpses, collecting the arrows she fired through some of their skulls, cleaning them carefully and putting them back in her quiver, as well as collecting the trinkets and silver pieces, all the while collecting her information from their dialogue. She learned of the woman's name and title, and though her usage and knowledge of magic gave Kiera pause, the similar tattoo at least calmed her senses that such things would be on their side. Besides, after the event they all just witnessed, perhaps more knowledge on what they're dealing with would be all the more helpful.

After the introductions, which Kiera took no part in as they were all still on a mission, even if between combat and there was plenty of time for such unnecessary 'pleasantries' afterwards, attentions turned back to the plan, the poison, and the untrustworthy goblins. Hearing once again about the poisons, Kiera unpocketed the herb she had found earlier and attempted to search her memory for any clues as to what it could be

[Survival: 9+4= 13]

With a map ready, and one of them already understanding and planning, discussions were abound about how to go about it, and the nature of their new companion had some more light shone upon it. The idea to reduce the threat to themselves has already been put into play, but putting the village at risk would only give them the minute addition of surprise. Kiera balked at the chance to disagree with the warlock on the practical matter of what help the village could be to them in the future, as the rest of the party made it abundantly clear what disdain they had for such an idea.

(Catches me up to the cave, sorry I have to post this unfinished, got work)

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Xarkana and Laya both extract a similar broken message, though someone with a higher roll might be able to get the rest of the conversation.

Orc: "I've done ----- you've asked, ----- made the -----."
???: "Well done! ----- should be ----- soon."
Orc: "Who? Am ----- to expect ----- as I ----- the heroes?"
???: "Not quite, ----- you've indeed ----- just as -----. What happens ----- will truly ----- your worth."
Orc: "What do you mean!?"
???: "Getting what ----- want and ----- what you ----- are two ----- things."
Orc: "Are you ----- me?"
???: "No. I'm ----- high expectations."
Orc: "You sent ----- here, knowing ----- had legendary -----, didn't you?"
???: "How'd you know?" she giggled.
Orc: "I'm not ----- to be ----- to your ----- game."
???: "Then, good luck. ----- should be ----- there, if ----- not already ----- you."

Xarkana The Vile

"Hmn." Xarkana felt as if they had heard all there was to hear. She pulled out her black book with her left hand, flipping it open to a bookmark with an unholy looking inscription.. Perhaps they'd have a chance to learn more about who sent the creatures out though. She raised her right hand, making a three fingered move forward, before realizing not everyone might follow along. "Take out the guards. Try to get a look at the instigator." The tip of her finger had begun glowing, pointing in five angles. "Doesn't matter if you don't. We can squeeze it out of the leader." She mused and began mumbling in a mix of common and infernal. "Shurekh Ak'tar(Hear my incantation), darkness falls and all light dies, my powers in the darkness rise.. Fan!kreh (Blast!), Eldritch suffering!" She twirled her left arm counter-clockwise, the points of the pentagram she had painted before lighting up, connecting, a black-purple stream of dark energy shooting forth from the centre, forming a small floating creature with angry eyes that grew wings, taking forth and cracking through the air as it aimed to impact upon the chest of the unwitting kobold. (see picture!)

((Attack rolls: 9 and 15, figuring we have advantage through stealth, maybe suprise round as she begins her attack,
Damage: 6
Initative: 3 ))

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Kat missed whatever conversation was going on in the room beyond, but she didn't miss Xarkana firing a crow of what seemed to be pure darkness at the foe. Probably going to need to look into that later, for now though there was a goblin to kill! Though for once she didn't just rush in with her greatsword, instead she pulled the javelin off her back and hurled it at the poor bastard.
