Re: City of Dall

As the zombies and skeletons began to close around the group, the massive skeleton began to swing his sword around, slicing up the guardsmen as the leaped towards it to put it down. They seemed to be distracting it at least. However, the skeletons seemed to be appearing in larger and larger numbers, as did the zombies. Several guards screamed in terror as the skeleton seemed to make a roaring gesture, but, lacking vocal chords, did not emanate the sound as it began to slice more guardsmen apart. One of the guards ran past the group, urging them to flee with him to the city exit as his compatriots followed, slicing through the undead and making a path for them.

Meanwhile, in the motel, the skeleton the Alys had struck on the head fell over, his skull caved in as all went quiet in the motel. The two skeletons at her side would appear to be the only undead left in the building, which would probably be good news for her.

As for Niko, he could hear screams of terror and agony outside his safehouse as skeletons turned their victims into zombies with the darkness imbued within them. Occasionally, a Skeleton would slam against his door and crumple to the ground in pieces, though the zombie's moaning was becoming ever more prevalent.

Re: City of Dall

As the last skeleton fighting her fell to the ground, Alys wasted no time lifting her saddlepacks back over her shoulder. Supporting herself with her spear she quickly moved to the door with her skeletons by her side, taking a quick look at the situation outside before ordering the skeletons to engage any hostiles and starting to limp towards the stable.

Leena frowned at the lack of a "Toldja so moment..." As she begins to make her retreat with the guard...

Just a bit more than a little frusterated that she couldn't hold off the hoarde for more than a few short moments...

But even more annoyed at the mega skeleton that just WOULDN'T DIE!

Leena took out some frustrations on some of the undead the group runs by, with a sound whack to the noggin... "Stuuupid... ZOMBIE!"

Re: City of Dall

Niko surveyed the area around his safe house for a moment, watching as the undead slammed against his door and crumbled. Why were they doing that? He hadn't trapped the apartment, and he hadn't left anyone else inside of it for them to go after either. Unless someone had decided to hole up in his apartment....... That must be it. Regardless, he wasn't trying to wade through that crowd of skeletons and zombies, and there was no way across the street from here without going to ground level. That was simply unacceptable. He glanced around for a moment, hidden from the undead by the rooftops, until her spotted the scaffolding attached to the building next to the one he was on. That might work.....

He stood up and began climbing, until he reached the top, where a winch held a weight, in this case a large net filled with stones, in order to counterbalance a lift that the men renovating the building had used to bring up material. The lift was at the bottom now, with the rope tied off to keep it there, and so Niko jumped into the center, grabbing the rope and sliding down to the ground floor. With his feet on the lift, he drew his sword, and then put his other hand into his mouth and whistled loudly. "Over here, boneheads!" He shouted, tapping his foot impatiently. He wanted the undead to converge toward him, and more importantly away from his safe house. When the closest of them was almost at the lift, his sword cut the rope holding the lift in place, and the lift shoots upwards with him standing on it, while the stones fall downwards towards the street. Niko dropped into a crouch and sheathed his blade as the lift flew upwards, far too light with only him on it when compared to the weight of the stones. Once it reached its apex, Niko jumped up and across, using the added momentum of the lift, which shattered the winch as it reached the top, and went flying across the street. His building was several stories, and he landed on the roof of it in a roll, only to turn and watch as the scaffolding attached to the larger building collapsed. The stones had probably crushed something when they hit the ground, but as the entire construction collapsed in on itself, the undead that had been making their way toward it were crushed by falling debris.

Niko couldn't help but smile as he climbed down a floor and silently entered his apartment through a window, which was on the second story. His sword returned to his hand, as did his dagger, as he crouched in the window, looking for signs of movement inside his sanctuary.

(Go go retarded acrobatics!)

Claire continued running and shooting into the mob of skeletons and zombies. Upon seeing Leena whack the zombie in the head with her staff, she can't help but sigh and say to herself, Yeah... I'm sure that'll take 'im out sugah. She then turns to the large skeleton before firing off two shot with her pistol and rifle at it's skull.

Jonathan didn't waste time. He followed the guards as they retreated, trying to keep the undead away from him and people around him with his staff, aiming his strikes at the joints. He probably couldn't take those things down permanently, but tripping them was another thing. By the time those things got up again, he'd already have passed them, along with nearby allies.

Re: City of Dall

Inside the stable, Alys would find several horses still hitched, waiting for their owners or someone to free them. As she looked about, however, she might notice several new types of Undead: Zombies. Two had taken position inside the stables, and were shambling towards her and her skeletons.

The group of mages and the gunslinger was met with a wave of zombies slowing them down, as well as many skeletons amongst their ranks, until eventually, they saw someone from earlier who was most likely wading through the undead: Anggrath, the Berserker from the bar.

The giant skeleton from earlier was barely slowed by the onslaught of town guards, catching up with the group and spotting Anggrath. It dropped low to the ground, then placed the tip of it's sword against the ground and began to run forward, using the blade as a form of plow as it charged through the group of mages and directly towards Anggrath, intending to chop him in half without even stopping.

Seeing the zombies Alys orders the skeletons to engage the zombies, attacking the left one herself with a couple jabs from her spear aimed at it's legs.

Re: City of Dall

Leena pummels a zombie with her staff as she complains "Why... Does it it have... To be dead things!!!"

Then hearing a increasingly audible dragging sound she looks over to see the Mega bone-head charging straight for them, sword digging a small ditch in front of him...

"Eeep!" Leena leaps away from the Giant's charge, but lands in the middle of the encroaching mob...

"Eh... Shit..."

Leena tries to retreat through the mob by blasting her way through, launching several small lightning arrows at once...

Re: City of Dall

Jonathan was in the middle of reducing a skeleton to it's base components when he heard the tell-tale sound of something big, heavy and made of metal being dragged across the ground. Taking a quick glance around him, he sprung into action and jumped out of the charging behemot's way. He really regretted shooting that thing earlier and promised himself that if he ever survived this, he'd look for a way to take those things down. As the thing passed him, the dark mage took a quick look around and noticed Leena, surrounded by a mob. Cursing under his breath, he charged, trying to bash his way through.

Re: City of Dall

Anggrath had been wondering around looking for an exit to the city, not bothering himself with the undead beyond occasionally stopping to cut down those who attacked him. By the time he ran into the group of mages, he was clearly quite lost.

"Oh look, it's the heroes. Perhaps they can point me in-"

Anggrath's muttering to himself is interrupted when he spots the giant skeleton charging towards him. He readies his axe and turns to face the charge.

"The bigger they are..."

As the skeleton approaches, Anggrath jumps to the side to avoid the charge and swings his axe out at the creature with both hands, aiming to sever it's spine between the rib cage and the pelvis.
