Re: [Ch01] Riverside Ruckus

Nerina, to her credit, didn't even stagger from the blow. She did, however, shoot a wink off at Kachende.

The Vernim frowned at Nerina's joke, and let out an annoyed 'tcheh' sound when one of the Jaguars began laughing and the other could barely contain his own amusement. As Kachende finished his sentence the mouseman spoke up raptly, his voice exasperated, "Appetite eh? She best stay off me and mine then, or we just might decide to have some fowl fer supper!", the vernim glared up at Nerina and the Jaguars unflinchingly; he wasn't quite joking around like they had been either. And in the same stroke he grumbled and shook his head before turning his attention back to Ryxis. "They wiff ye, ain't they, big fella? There ain't more feathers to deal with, is there? Too many already... I just might nick some to pad out my pillow with at this rate.", the Vernims last sentence was a low, but still audible, grumble.

Meanwhile, while the mouseman was busy bemoaning his fate, a pair of Harpies were conversing with a pair of white-furred, blue-eyed, mousewomen. "So ya, our brother went off to find whoever the Felyn has sent to escort us, but I'm sure he will keep his word to ya. You'll get your ride, and ye two help protect us.", the other mousewoman sighed softly, slowly shaking her head. "I dunno why he agreed to it in the first place, I'm sure the cats won't leave us hanging... They want what we're sellin' after all, but our brother is... A lil too careful at times. His call though, so I guess we'll be gettin' to know eachother the next coupla days.", the second Vernim paused to look around herself, then spoke in a hushed tone to the two harpies. "Just be wary 'round our brother, and watch yer tailfeathers, he's been complainin' that his favorite pillow could use some more padding as of late."

Ryxis chuckled into his mug as the little creatures had their back and forth with the others. Grinning widely as Nerina elbowed him in the ribs, he hooked his mug to his belt when it was empty and looked back and forth at them all. Leaning down, and by leaning it was actually sitting on the ground, and THEN leaning, Ryxis cleared his throat.

"Little Friends, it is not wise to say such things to a large cat, woman, or anything that flies, all three is bordering on tempting fate." Ryxis whispered.

Laughing more loudly, Ryxis slapped his knee and carried on. "We're all over here!" Ryxis bellowed to the harpies and the other vernim, smiling widely. "As for feathers, lets seriously not continue along that line of thought, I stuff mine with Fur. Much softer." Ryxis added, winking at their angry little host as he stood back up, towering over the munchkin guild man.

"Such a spirited group we have! This is excellent, Rana! Come on, you're coming with as well, can't very well make good on my promise if I leave you here can I!" Ryxis called to his stray pick up. "Yes everyone, we're your escort and we've already planned to head through the mountain pass. IF you haven't planned for that eventuality, then please alter your plans. We've also heard talk of Golems acting strangely in the pass as well as other problems, so the going will be steady and careful, I wont have any accidents or losses on this trip. Please take the time to make certain you have everything you need. If you want to talk to me, I'll be eating." Ryxis finally bellowed, before lumbering off to lunch as well, the other cheetahs had the right idea.

Re: [Ch01] Riverside Ruckus

The pair of harpies stood rather stoically during their conversation with the mouse women. The younger of the two was a tad more impatient, rocking back and forth slightly in her hooded robe, the hood being used to shade the pair. She would even stretch her wings on occasions, looking almost a little too eager to leave. The pair would remove them mid conversation as the mouse women discussed the circumstances. "The trip has been quite...interesting to say the very least. Never thought I'd find myself in the Feline tribes camps. The harpies tended to keep away from them, and for good reason. Fierce warriors, the lot of them. I'll be honest, I didn't figure this job would take us into one of their villages let alone this deep into their territory. But we will follow as needed. The owl spoke, revealing an older woman with grey hair and feathers and pointed ears.

The conversation continued, with the second of the two mouse women mentioning one of the brothers plucking the feathers of the harpies. The elder just laughed it off lightly, but the younger of the two, a young hawk with fiery red hair and a mix of red and brown feathers said her piece. "He can try! And all he's gonna get is a claw to the face for his trouble!" The elder of the two harpies placed a hand on the youngers shoulder, trying to calm the energetic child. "Now child, we can't be threatening our benefactors. We need all the friends we can get out here." The younger one would look at her master with a rather upset look. "But..." The elder glared at the younger harpy who silenced herself and looked down at her feet. "The hawk had great passion, but her temper flares much too quickly still. I'll have to keep helping her with that..." The elder thought to herself. The child had been trouble since the beginning, but showed great promise. All the elder needed to do was keep her under control.
