There's nothing wrong with a little exposition now and again. You just introduced a new character and plot element. Two new characters, really, when you think about it. We still don't know a huge amount about Alexander, too. There's going to be party interaction and planning and discussion.

And if you do turn into Michael Bay, I will find a way to reach through the monitor and slap you.

The phrasing may be a little off there on my part. It's not that I don't like exposition, it's more that I'm not very good at writing it. I find myself trying to rush it so I can get back to the action parts.

EDIT: Makes you wonder how I managed to crank out Living Legend at all, which, if I do say so myself, is maybe my best story up to now. But then again, it wasn't really exposition, it was just more quiet than, say, A man of few words.

Ah, gotcha. Could be why I write in chunks that I then piece together, even if I'm writing the end of the story before I've even done the opening paragraph...

You can do it. Just let the story happen. You're not on a deadline, so it's all good.

Update on my Western story: I scrapped the initial concept of just starting with a bang in order to provide some character background, and to make the protagonist more believable. I also figured out how to include the sexy parts - the story will be parted in day and night. Day chapters are the ones driving the story forward, and night chapters, while in canon, will mostly consist out of smut. The reason for this will actually be explained in the story.

I also managed to come up with a title for it - The Ashen Desert Chronicles. One thing I still have to figure out is actually the soundtrack, so to speak. I have very little music I can draw inspiration from. Got to find out if I can get my hands on the Red Dead Redemption soundtrack somehow.

Update update: I found myself unable to write a descent western story, so that is sadly scrapped. I just don't know enough about the genre to deliver satisfying material. However, a Minecraft story is in the early development stage (idea has popped up in my head). I think I'll be able to deliver the first part of that before Christmas, even.

Well good luck. I don't honestly think I could write a western style story myself, and I actually know the genre pretty good.

Well, I think I'm far enough by now to make an announcement. There is some futa smut coming down the pipe. I hope I'll be able to finish it this weekend. I wish I could continue working on it right now, but I'm really, really tired.
