Alright, I know fledgling CYOAs end up a dime a dozen, but screw it, here's something worth less than a penny.

Oh, and if you're a writer and need someone to clean up your grammar, I can help with that. I'm a great speller, I know which version of your/'re you're looking to use.

Last warning, this will be a bit of an info dump at first. I want you to be well informed of your choices, at least at first.

Wars, these things happen sometimes. Mostly they blame us. Who can blame them? Humans don't take kindly to being preyed upon... well, the women eventually don't mind so much. Sometimes we go for centuries without them pestering us, but capture one princess and everything just goes to hell.

We are tentacle "beasts", hardly worthy of that title, we're usually smarter than they are. We take their women to absorb their energy and to reproduce. We need them and we will not stop to get what we need.

It's the end of a particularly devastating war, your hive was one of the survivors. The humans discovered new ways to synthesize potions from the byproducts of your race. Now you're too valuable to just exterminate and no one has power to influence a government like a business trying to make a profit. You're young, just ending your adolescence where you aren't expected to do much but act as a sentry in the nearby woods, looking for human raids, and come back to the stock of women so you can feed and grow.

This is your final metamorphosis, a choice that will effect your role within the hive for the rest of your life. Consider yourself lucky, not every tentacle gets a choice, hive first after all.

Choose:

A. Soldier: These are designated fighting tentacles. They are big, strong, not particularly subtle or clever at illusions and deception, but great for direct attacks. Physically, they start out imposing, easily 10 feet long and as thick as a large snake, though tapering out as they get towards the end. Eventually, they grow a central mass, about the size of a large cow, with several thick tentacles sprouting from the mass. Another drawback is the rate at which they consume energy. While away from the hive, this type suffers a higher rate of energy bleed due to their larger size. When feeding, they are rough, as always. Through sheer size, they wrap their prey and through sheer size is the only way their pray will feel pleasure, but they will eventually. They will continue until she is too tired to resist. With slaves who are already broken in, they show the barest consideration, using their slime to at least get them wet enough to easily penetrate.

B. Hunter: A fast, stealthy tentacle. Easily the fastest mover of the tentacles. Typically, they make up the bulk of the tentacles sent out to capture escapees. As such, they are good trackers and have superior senses on top of their great darting speed. A common tactic in the forest is to travel swinging from tree limbs from their tentacles and attack out of the air on top of their prey. During the wars with the humans, they developed a clever adaptation, a solid retractable, bone-like spear point extending from about 1/4th away from the head. When humans began raiding and attacking, the tentacles didn't have an answer for their new armors, like plate and chain, and they just had to beat them into submission. Now, these tentacles can strike fast and deliver painful stabs through the armor, either to wound or kill, depending on the current situation. Coupling with this role, they also have a great knowledge of human anatomy, for fighting and for feeding. When feeding, they give the greatest pleasure, hitting all the right spots, rapidly, over and over again until she just gives in. They start out roughly 6 feet in length and the thickness of a similarly sized snake. They grow into a roughly wolf sized mass with 3 long tentacles sprouting from it, allowing them to take a different tactic, ambushing from above with a tentacle disguised like a vine. Their smaller size means they can be away from the hive or a food source for longer than the fighters. They are also fairly clever, setting ambushes and disguising themselves as tree roots and vines. Work best in packs.

C. Feeder: Feeders have a duty in the hive. They keep the women alive with a nutritious diet of semen. They also serve a role of breaking the captives, as tentacle semen is highly addictive and a potent aphrodisiac, theirs even more so. Furthermore, they can control the chemical composition of their slime and semen to do more than just make their target horny; they can cause drowsiness and confusion as well, according to what they want. This is particularly useful when they leave the hive. They aren't particularly fast or particularly strong, don't expect to easily overpower groups or large men and don't expect to outrun a man on horseback. Armored targets give them problems in direct combat since they don't have the armor penetration of the Hunters or the sheer power of the Soldiers, but they are best at incapacitating their targets without taking or giving a blow. They attack via their semen, spewed out at high pressure, capable of shooting over 25 feet. Their slime also can be spewed and the viscosity changed so it's sticky. These tentacles start out fairly chunky at about 8 feet long, but as thin as the hunters. Eventually they grow to a smaller central mass, about 3 feet across with many shorter tentacles. Finally, they are capable of staying away from the hive for extended periods of time due to an extremely efficient metabolism. After all, they can are supposed to feed the women and that takes energy too. When feeding, they have multiple approaches. Some like to tease women until they beg to be fucked, supplying them with a steady stream of semen and rubbing until the reach the edge of orgasm, then pulling them back. Others like to keep women in a constant stupor of pleasure, supplied aphrodisiac and steady fucking until she can't live without something in her pussy and he mouth.

Final word, no playable tentacle can start out egging women(I will have designated breeders who don't leave the hive). You need to grow til you have a central mass where they will be produced.

Re: Tentacle Hive

Every CYOA has to start with a first post (and every lurker, such as me, has to post sooner or later ;) )
That said, the obvious choice is Bringing in the women. Let's go hunting!

B.

"Uncle Tentacle always said: Nothing beats corrupting a virgin."

Oh! And seeing the sights; the hive gets boring after a while.

Re: Tentacle Hive

B has it.

"Can't be surprised there. Nothing beats hunting.", a voice reverberates in your consciousness.

Some time later, you exit your chrysalis, a relatively short 6 foot tentacle. You test out your new body and find that there's about 6 inches of you you just can't bend, as if there were something solid in your body, a strange feeling for a tentacle. You give a small flick and a bone-like needlepoint juts out of a small port near the stiffness. With a similar flick, it retracts almost instantly.

Ability: Solid Needle While still small, it can be used very quickly. Poke enough holes in a man and he goes down just the same. Unfortunately, it's a slight liability when wrapping up a victim as you can't bend in the area with it retracted.

For the next few minutes you continue to try out your new body. You can zip forward at incredible speeds, nearly as fast as a race horse, and fling yourself a remarkably long distance by coiling the lower half of your body like a spring and releasing it. You can also flatten out your body and change it's color from your normal dark red fleshy color to virtually anything you want. You can more easily climb the walls of the hive, made out of a slime creature in an interesting symbiotic relationship. Slimes need moisture to survive and grow and tentacles produce semen, slime, and women who create their own moisture every time they cum. For feeding them nearly endlessly, the slimes help to restrain the women, using their sticky, malleable bodies to immobilize them, and provide the tentacles a better surface to slide over.

Ability: Stealth Given your small size and your ability to change color, you can nearly vanish almost anywhere.

Ability: Jump The muscles in the lower section of your body are capable of coiling and releasing, flinging you a remarkably long distance through the air. This ability will not deteriorate with size, more weight, but more muscle to propel it as well.

You hear a commotion down the only exit from this chamber. You head down along the wall. You can hear the sweet cries of women suspended from the slime wall, adolescents fucking them roughly and juveniles, the freshly hatched, drinking their milk. You idly wonder what you could do to them now. You can almost see their nervous and circulatory systems. As you enter the main chamber, you see a motley collection of tentacles. Hunters like you, many of them larger. Hulking Soldiers impatiently slap the ground. Feeders go about their business, by and large feeding the women, fucking some of them for energy, some wait patiently with the rest of you in the center of the room.

Ability: Sixth Sense You can detect weakness in your enemies and prey. All of their weakpoints are laid bare to you. Any scents they leave behind appear as trails to you.

Suddenly, the booming voice returns, "Young ones, you have a choice: Band together and share the spoils from your hunt. Or go alone and share nothing." The voice says no more.

Activity rushes around you as some of your brethren immediately go through the exit, the northmost tunnel, though there are several others branching off from this large chamber. Others quickly form groups. Two hunters and a soldier look(as much as a tentacle can) expectantly at you. Another group, consisting as a feeder, a hunter, and a soldier do the same.

A. Go with the first group of 2 hunters and a soldier

B. Go with the second group of a hunter, a soldier, and a feeder.

C. Who needs these chumps? Go alone and see what you can scrounge up!

I'd say C. Go for the sneaky, scouty sort of thing, at least for the first foray out into the wilds.

Re: Tentacle Hive

B-We know nothing of the surrounding world apart from humans being able to defeat and probably 'distill' tentacles somehow, so having a team along on our first hunting trip seems like a good idea.

They don't distill anything. They use the slime and semen as potion ingredients. Some... more adventurous humans want tentacles as pets. They're kind of rare in the area.

Currently, it's tied 4-4 between b and c.

Re: Tentacle Hive

And a flip of the coin because we're tied at 5-5 now and...
B

You slither along to the second group, preferring balance to speed. The hunter, a little larger than you, makes contact, establishing a link of consciousness between you and the group. You now effectively share one train of thought and can react according to information any member your group detects. Of course, this only works over short distances, generally no more than 30-50 feet. It's an odd feeling. Juveniles never worked in groups like this when acting as sentries. You only used to have a connection to the voice in the hive, still an enigma what controls it.

You and your new friends make their way out of the cave the hive is located in, leaving the screams, yelps, and sighs of the captives behind to hopefully add to the collection.

Your group travels along the ground for now, you and the other hunter matching the pace of the more cumbersome soldier and weaker feeder. After a fairly short time, you come along a small path, only about 5 feet wide. You and the other hunter pick a direction and go ahead of the group, quickly climbing trees on either side of the path to gain a height advantage. You both advance at a steady pace, trying to stay within contact of your allies.

As you continue, you hear a voice singing in your distance. You and the other hunter quicken your pace to investigate, swinging and jumping through the trees, making only as much sound as your usual woodland creature. You find a woman, young, perhaps 20 years old, fairly small, maybe 5'3" and thin throughout, with small B-cup breasts and a small, tight butt framed by hips suiting her narrow waist. She has light brown hair extending down to the center of her back, tied up in a simple braid. She's wearing a simple light yellow linen skirt down to just below her knees and a plain white blouse with little in terms of lace or decoration. It seems she's just a traveler or a peasant out for a walk.

Speeding ahead like that means you lost contact with the feeder and the soldier. She appears to be alone, but she also seems to be quite healthy, capable of putting up a fight.

A. You and the other hunter strike, attacking her directly and trying to tie her up while tearing through her clothes.

B. You drop down in front of her and startle the woman, getting her to run down the path in the opposite direction. As you pursue, the other hunter will try to trip her up.

C. Role reversal of B, the other hunter chases and you try to catch her.

D. You work together to bounce the girl back and forth, keeping her on the path and running back towards your allies, the soldier and the feeder.
