Its time for computer upgrades, Birthday is one day away and 13 days till xmas.
My tower has a extra CD drive, I am wondering should I get HD for those HD dvds or Blue Ray pretend I am cool kid with a PS3

But I seen good movies for both so I dont know.

Re: HD or Blue Ray?

The HD DVD format is now dead. Get Blue Ray.

Re: HD or Blue Ray?

Ultimately, Kaz, I'd say just go with whatever you feel like.

While the big push has been for everything to go Blue Ray, I've hear from electronics people that there really isn't the huge difference, like the advertisements would lead you to believe.

A few people I know, all electronics department sales employees, actually took two identical top end HD TVs, put them side by side, connected one to an HD DVD player, and one to a Blue Ray player. They then proceeded to take two copies of the exact same movie, one HD DVD, the other Blue Ray, and put them in, and ran the exact same scene, at the exact same time, on both. There was no difference.

Before anyone starts griping about that test, keep in mind that the ones doing the test were people who have to know what they're talking about in regards to such systems as part of their jobs.

The push... may lead to some thing.. that i can see on self more. So far Blue Ray may be worth the extra few bucks.

apparently blue ray doesn't get those lines that you get in hd format

of course, the people who notice these eyes must have OVER 9000% eyesight, because i've not noticed them

Go BlueRay.
If the entirety of porn decided it, yes, blueray will succeed in the future, even if the difference is unnoticeable. Even if every other product that could possibly come out in dvd format wanted to go hd and porn went blue, blue would pretty much be the victor.

No, really guys. HD DVD is dead. They've stopped making new movies for it.

Re: HD or Blue Ray?

Personally, I'd say Blue Ray is the sensible choice, seeing as how HD has largely been dropped now. And personally I would bother buying one for another year at least either. When it comes to movies, I just don't see enough difference in quality to warrant buying a whole new player for the tiny collection of equally over priced movies available for them.

When they start using the enormous amount of extra space to put bigger games onto Blue Rays, then I'll take an interest. It'll be a quarter of the price before I need one.

But yeah, go for blue if your gonna choose one.

I'd imagine there's are loads of hardware upgrades or external gadgets that you would get a lot more use out of really, though I don't know what you've already got.

I recently saw an 80 gig portable hard drive the size of a flattened pack of ticktacks. It was designed to fit in the small pocket found on most jeans. I want one o them.

Re: HD or Blue Ray?

I love upgrading my comp, its one of my hobbys. My dad recently gave me one of his older comps i can repair since he broke it or most likely my brother inlaw broke it.
