Re: Fire and Shadow (Dreana/DeMatt)

"'Your'... 'puny little'... 'world'? Y-you've invaded other worlds before?"

Alisa starts prying at her chains again, trying to keep them from rattling as she does so. If they're loose enough not to chafe, maybe they're loose enough to let her squeeze her hands through...

Re: Fire and Shadow (Dreana/DeMatt)

Shadowcats Status: HP = 46, P = 33, EP = 33, Grappled, Submission Hold
Alisas Status: HP = 42, P = 42, EP = 26/35, Grappled, Submission Hold

Body Check: 14 + 36 = 50 vs 56 == Failure.
Body Check: 8 + 26 + 12 + 3 = 49 vs 56 == Failure.

Once again both try and fail to pull themselves free of the chains holding them to the wall, Shadowcat pulling with all her might while Alisa tries to wriggle free. A loud cracking sound can be heard behind Shadowcat, but the chains don't have anymore give than before.

"Only yours, human. And every time, your world has evaded us only by the work of one man. Well, daemon, actually. But he will not stop us this time. We have a way to deal with him permanently, at long last." She says, her eyes going to Alisa. Turning to Shadowcat, she continues; "Oh, I'm sure. In fact, I'll even give you a chance to prove those words once I'm done with him." She says, now turning back to Gab. She smiles wickedly, and begins taking slow steps toward him, treating all of this like a cat toying with a mouse.

As she reaches the struggling gruff, she reaches out a hand, running it over his muscular chest and abs, proceeding slowly downward. She looks into his eyes as he huffs in discomfort, her hand slowly trailing into the thick hair around his crotch and slowly diving in. She hand stops a moment later, having found her prize, and her evil smile widens. She pumps her hand a few times before Gabs cock begins to come into view from beneath his fur.

Gab remains silent, straining against his bonds in a vain attempt to avoid the fate he knows is coming to him.

(One more turn before poor old Gab gets blown to death. Or something like that, at any rate. Not sure if I really want to kill him, even though he's hardly the most inspired or interesting character I've ever come up with. No offense, DeMatt.)

*quirking a brow at the sound behind her she tries to worm her way about a bit so as to perhaps brace her feet on the wall before trying one more time to dislodge the chains from the wall hoping she could rip them free if she added force and leverage to it.*

Re: Fire and Shadow (Dreana/DeMatt)

(Aw man... c'mon, dice, don't fail me now! The last three attempts were all low, it's time she got a high roll!)

At the realization of just how Natalie plans to assault Gab, Alisa starts straining harder against her chains, abandoning any attempt at subtlety.

"What are you- why would you- let him go!" Her cry is rather plaintive, the thus-far unyielding chains discouraging her.

Re: Fire and Shadow (Dreana/DeMatt)

Shadowcats Status: HP = 46, P = 33, EP = 33
Alisas Status: HP = 42, P = 42, EP = 26/35

Body Check: 20 + 36 = 56 vs 56 == Success.
Body Check: 15 + 26 + 12 + 3 = 56 vs 56 == Success.
(I didn't fudge that either.)

Suddenly, with a powerful surge, Shadowcat yanks one of her arms free of the manacle. She quickly pulls the rest off, freeing herself completely of the demonic trap. Simultaneously, Alisa pulls one of her wrists free of the chains, and uses that hand to stabilize the others as she frees herself as well. The two naked unarmed women face off against the demoness. She calmly releases Gabs member, laughing lightly, and says; "Fair enough. I was going to save you two for later, but I suppose I might enjoy forcing the fool to watch me suck both of you dry of life before I start on him. Maybe it will give him some perspective on his meaningless existence."

(You're both free, Natalie is standing in the middle of the you two, 5 feet away from either.)

Re: Fire and Shadow (Dreana/DeMatt)

(Woohoo! Now to see if we can actually outfight Natalie long enough to escape, since somehow I doubt we're gonna win against her.)

Alisa hastily chants out "نبت", gesturing at Natalie and summoning roots to tie her ankles to the floor. The dusty stone there isn't the best place for such to appear from, but given time foliage can overcome any mere rock - and with her magic, it doesn't need even that.

(Cast Entangling Plants. Question... what kind of stone is the building made of? Bricks? Piled stones with mortar between? Solid shaped stone? How thick are the walls, particularly the one which Gab is chained to?)

Re: Fire and Shadow (Dreana/DeMatt)

Shadowcat may be naked but points such as this were when she would be underestimated..no weapon at hand Hah her weapons were her hands. She leapt forward svagely cutting her hand across claws outstretched for the demon's chest with the frist swipe whil her other hand swiped after lower for the stomache hoping to leave a mass of bloody gouges in the demon's flesh

(attack! with great fury!)

Re: Fire and Shadow (Dreana/DeMatt)

Shadowcats Status: HP = 46, P = 33, EP = 33, Binding
Alisas Status: HP = 42, P = 42, EP = 24/35

(It's all solid stone. The outer walls are all about half a foot thick, while the inner ones like the one Gab is chained to are a bit thinner.)

To-hit: 6 + 48 = 54 vs 70 == Miss. (I lowered her dodge from its original 220 to make this possible to win.)

Natalie easily avoids Shadowcats attack, keeping her body just out of reach of the warriors raking claws.

Casting: 20 + 12 + 3 + 10 = 45 vs 16 == Automatic Failure.

Alisa finds no living plants anywhere nearby for her to call upon, not even grasses or shrubs. Wherever they were, it seemed that there was nothing living here for her magic to call upon.

Spirit Check: 14 vs 20 = Enemy wins.

Natalie snaps her fingers, and suddenly Shadowcat collapses to the ground. Hard as she tries, she cannot move any of her muscles, not even a budge. Natalie then turns toward Alisa, a malevolent smile on her face, and says; "You get to go first."

(Realizing that you can't win based on pure statistics, I'm making it so that anything she does will require a roll of 20 to escape from. Also, from now on, you need only make rolls of 20 to hit her. Agreed?)

Re: Fire and Shadow (Dreana/DeMatt)

(Critical success rolls? Well, it's better than "can't do anything"... so okay. Just wish Alisa'd saved that casting roll for something where it would make the difference...)

Shocked at the ease with which Natalie ducks out of Shadowcat's way, and stunned at how easily she paralyzes the warrior, Alisa has no verbal reply, shifting sideways to put her in front of Gab, stepping back into him, propping herself up with hands on the wall on either side of him... then abruptly chanting "Форма пород", channelling her magic into the stone to shape it to her will...

(Cast Shape Stone, cause the wall to shift out of the way behind Gab and Alisa, allowing them to fall through, then shift back to hopefully block off Natalie, also freeing Gab's chains from their anchor, if not each other. Sorry Dreana, can't catch up Shadowcat in the same spell... dunno whether there's a floor to fall her through, nor whether it's thin enough. :()

Re: Fire and Shadow (Dreana/DeMatt)

(so i'm basically fucked here now?)
(Ehhh... I'm kinda hoping not. Basically, I see four possible results from Alisa's action:
  1. Alisa flubs the spell. Thus, she's screwed first.
  2. Alisa gets away - and Natalie lets her run, figuring she can catch her no matter what she does.
  3. Alisa gets away - but Natalie loses her temper at seeing her prey flee, and pursues.
  4. The wall is loadbearing - the ceiling caves in and crushes everybody.
(I'm betting on option 3, thereby giving Shadowcat a chance at breaking free from the binding (or it disappearing due to distance) and figuring out something else to do. I'm also hoping that Natalie's route to wherever Alisa & Gab end up is long enough for Alisa to get the chains off Gab, now that they're no longer anchored.)

Re: Fire and Shadow (Dreana/DeMatt)

Shadowcats Status: HP = 46, P = 33, EP = 33, Binding
Alisas Status: HP = 42, P = 42, EP = 18/35

(No, you just need to roll a 15 or higher to escape from the Binding. Changed from a 20. Also, lol @ 4.)

Spirit Check: 10 vs 15 = Enemy wins.

Shadowcat struggles against the magic holding her spirit in place, feeling it weaken but not quite break. As the demon was distracted, perhaps she'd be able to free herself more easily. Her hopes are nearly dashed as Alisa rushes to Gab, chants a spell, and then seems to melt into the stone. Natalie turns toward her after Alisa makes her hasty exit with Gab, leaving her alone with the demon. The demoness smiles, however, and says; "I'll be right back. I do hope you'll keep until then." Then, strangely, she blows Shadowcat a kiss, and melts into the shadows, disappearing completely from sight.

Casting: 10 + 12 + 10 + 3 = 35 vs 30 == Success.

Alisa feels her spell go off, and the stone melds around Gab and herself, allowing them to slip free into a different room through the stone, which quickly seals behind them. Gab is freed of the shackles holding him to the wall, allowing him to be free. He immediately rubs the places that had been touched by the iron, and turns back toward the wall, saying; "We cannot leave her there, the demon will kill her and consume her soul! We cannot allow such to happen to an ally!"

"Oh, don't you worry hon. You're not going anywhere, and neither is she." A horribly familiar voice says from behind them, and they turn in unison to find Natalie taking form amidst the shadows of this new dark room. This room was just as the previous one, except that the holes were in different places. A Su-Ku-Ta man sat limply in the far corner, his eyes empty and his body naked. It seemed that he had recently been given the same treatment that Natalie had had in store for them.

Gab advances a step toward Natalie, apparently intent on confronting the woman directly.

"S-She's too strong! W-We can't fight her!"

Stuttering in her fear, Alisa manages to not leave Gab behind as a speed bump, instead channelling a burst of magic into her hand and from there into light, banishing the shadows Natalie stepped through and throwing hers into sharp relief.

(Cast Blinding Light. I feel confident she'll only hit Natalie, this time around.)

Re: Fire and Shadow (Dreana/DeMatt)

Shadowcats Status: HP = 46, P = 33, EP = 33
Alisas Status: HP = 42, P = 42, EP = 16/35, Binding

Spirit Check: 18 vs 15 = Shadowcat wins.

Shadowcat feels the numbing effect weaken as its source moves farther away, and with a surge of willpower swiftly throws the binding effect off.

Casting: 10 + 12 + 3 = 25 vs 16 == Success.
Mind vs Mind: 17 + 24 + 3 = 44 vs 9 + 37 = 46 == Natalie wins.

Alisas flash of light illuminates the room, apparently some kind of torture chamber, fully for a moment, but Natalie throws her hands in front of her eyes before the spell can blind her. As is, she winds up blinking spots out of her eyes, but can still see the pair well enough to launch a counter. As she had done with Shadowcat, Natalie reaches out her hand and snaps her fingers toward Alisa.

Spirit Check: 17 + 10 + 3 = 30 vs 16 + 20 = 36 == Enemy wins.

Alisa feels her body seize up, and collapses to the floor. She is unable to move, or even try and use her magic. Gab rushes wordlessly toward the demoness, his fist raised to strike.

To-hit: 15 + 28 = 43 vs 40 == Hit.
Damage: 3 + 7 = 10 damage.

Gabs punches lands heavily against Natalies face, sending her back a step with a look of surprise on her face. She quickly looks back at the Fey and smiles, however, and licks a tiny bit of blood from her lips, causing Gab to pull back in horrified disgust.

(3 rounds left, unless I miscounted.)

Re: Fire and Shadow (Dreana/DeMatt)

(Crud.)

"-grk-" Unable to move her voluntary muscles, not even to scream, Alisa lies helplessly on the ground, trying desperately to fight off the magic numbing her nerves.

(Well, in this post, you said it'd be 5 rounds including the one where Alisa (and Natalie) went through the wall... so 3 more rounds, yes.)

Re: Fire and Shadow (Dreana/DeMatt)

Shadowcats Status: HP = 46, P = 33, EP = 33
Alisas Status: HP = 42, P = 42, EP = 16/35

The ceilings are high, but Shadowcat manages to jump high enough to catch her fingers on the edge of the upper floor. Hoisting herself up, she finds herself alone on the roof of the building with several other holes which she could likely peek or jump through. She also notices that the faint light was coming from the sky itself, rather than any moon or single source. It seemed that this place was always slightly illuminated, even at night, which Shadowcat still believed it was.

Spirit Check: Success. (You rolled a 20.)

Alisa manages to force the magic that held her down away, and finds herself able to move her body again.

To-hit: 6 + 50 = 56 vs 33 == Hit.
Damage: Enough to ktfo.

Alisa manages to take control of her senses just in time to watch Natalie smack Gab in the chest with a single open palm. The blow, which would have been paltry coming from anyone else, is devastating, sending Gab crashing into the far wall with a loud crack. The gruff collapses to the ground, not moving and clearly out of the fight.

Re: Fire and Shadow (Dreana/DeMatt)

(Got free: Yay! Gab KO'd: Boo! Now, to decide whether to try and protect Gab or trust in Natalie pursuing Alisa if she flees... *idly wishes for a "teleport two to safety" spell*)

Alisa lets out a wordless cry of dismay, then scoops up one of the discarded chains from the floor, whispering a quick spell as she heaves it at the sorceress...

(Cast Charge on a chain, toss it at Natalie, trying to trip her with it rather than cause injury.)
