Re: Calgary, Alberta - Canada

Mikky shook her head a bit and went back to writing. She spent so long on it that she actually walked past the kitchen before she finished.

[I don't read files, too boring. Only time I ever go on missions is when there is a big dangerous abnormal. I get to try and hold it down or keep it looking at me or throw it in a crate or box. Stuff like that.]

Chris nodded, clearly amused by this point.

"I'll guess you want soda, think there's ... yeah, here's a few cans of Pepsi. My own personal stash."

He handed her one, and set two more on the table.

Miranda nodded.

"Fair enough, though still should put it in for the others. So, any idea on what you want to eat? I think Henry restocked everything before he left, so we should have a lot of choices."

"I'll make a note to pick some up next time I'm out."

He hesitated a moment before replying.

"I actually don't require food, for me eating is something of a rare pleasure when I'm not having to be on the run. Don't sleep or drink either. It isn't exactly something I make public knowledge, or usually talk about, your actually the first person besides Dr. Magnus and her daughter who I've told this. I would greatly appreciate it if you would keep it to yourself as well."

Well, at least the damn thing wasn't trying to be sneaky. Then again, something that big would have trouble hiding. On the other hand, Przemek had to hurry if he wanted to catch up. The monster was quite fast and at this rate, it'd reach the city soon. Fortunately, the awful stench of the slime left by it and the scent of blood from it's recent kill made tracing the creature easy for a ghoul. However, Przemek was getting worried. There were several differences between snakes and this monster. The abundance of slime, it's mad rush and the fact that it chewed on it's victim instead of swallowing it whole suggested the creature might be physically and mentally different from typical snakes. In fact, there was a good chance that this abnormal only looked like a snake - it could possess some unexpected characteristics or abilities. This could be the reason why it escaped. Przemek continued to run at full speed, following the trail. Mentally, he prepared himself for a fight unlike anything he experienced before.

Mikki put on what could be best described as the look on a child's face the first time they're told they can have pop instead of milk on their cereal.

[Maple Syrup. and some Apples. and Cinnamon.]

It was then that she realized they had gone past the kitchen. With a flourish that accidentally carved a thin line across one of the doors, she turned and practically skipped back the half hall back to the kitchen.

Miranda chuckled.

"Pancakes with those?"

Przemek didn't have to travel exceptionally far before he spotted his quarry. It was huge, easily able to fill the legends of giant naga's. It's skin was a dark green in color, and from behind that was all he could make out of it's features. Wait, in it's arms was a person, who was weakly struggling, surely near death. Before he could move, the creature bit the person in half, discarding the lower half and consuming the upper body. Then it slowly started moving away, right up the gentle incline leading to the surface.

Sally's voice filled his head for a moment.

Do you need help, or should I summon a surface alarm?

Nodding once, Chris led her out the main doors they had come in through. On the way they passed a rather large, what could only be described as holding panel. Before she could ask what it was for, there was a loud noise, and inside she watched something that looked a whole lot like a Pteranodon move to a standing position, watching her with keen eye.

Re: Calgary, Alberta - Canada

Chris chuckled.

"Sure as hell looks like one doesn't it? Alas, from what I understand, it's an abnormal that happens to look like one, but the genetic structures aren't the same. That and unlike what it looks like, it generally doesn't attack anything, feeds off plants. And it likes usually to stay hidden from other creatures. Only six are actually documented to be alive, we don't know how many more there may or may not be. One of the few species of abnormal that can manage to elude even us or the Cabal."

"well not to be offensive to it..but being able to look like a giant flying dinosaur would probably be a good bonus to escaping capture...i'm sure plenty of rainforest out there it could live in happily and be able to elude detection ya know?"

Re: Calgary, Alberta - Canada

Chris nodded.

"I've actually long thought perhaps the interior of dead volcano's. Near impossible to get a team inside one of those, and highly defendable for a being capable of flight. I'm not even sure how this one got here, he was here long before I was."

As he spoke, they came to a lab of some sorts. Opening the door, she spotted numerous automated devices.

"This is the robotics lab. Sometimes we get chemicals in here that have to be mixed together for tranquilizers, used only on extremely dangerous abnormals immune to the energy stunners. Sometimes those chemicals can be rather toxic to humans, so the robotics lab can be remotely controlled, or pre-programmed to mix these chemicals for us, which is always a bonus. Right now, it's offline because we have no use for it this second. When it's on though, these things move FAST."

"nifty...robo chemists..sounds fun...all the wacky fun of mixing weird chemicals and none of the clothes staining explosions! heh"

*she looked around at all the machines not sure what a single one of them was other then what she had just been told*

Mikki shook her head at that comment, but she had already put her notepad down on a table and gone into the kitchen area and wandered off towards the dry storage shelves. "No, Ak'lak'ku. Umm... 'Ark. Phrom Manakki, Tree."

Re: Calgary, Alberta - Canada

"Alright, so just Apples, Cinnamon and Maple Syrup for you. Got it."

Miranda pulled those out, and set them on the table for Mikki, then found herself a frozen dinner in the freezer, and set about baking it.

"Yeah, pretty much," Chris chuckled. "As far as I know, that's all these thing can actually do, and they are stationary. I have no need to actually use them, or learn what they do, so I didn't really bother too much beyond the basics. Anyway, this is one of the few areas that doesn't house any abnormals, for obvious reasons. On one side of this wing we have the rooms designed to house peaceful beings, and on the other side ones designed to house, and contain beings that are more aggressive. Which one suits you first?"

Re: Calgary, Alberta - Canada

"Alright, fair enough. I warn you, some of these creatures will be surprising, some of them ... well some you might not see, they may stay hidden."

He led her towards one area, which judging by the direction was the less dangerous area he had mentioned.

Along the way, they passed Sally's tank again, though she was nowhere to be seen for now. They passed by several more places that could house something, but those seemed to either be unused, or the occupants were hiding.

Soon however they came across one with a woman inside, though she seemed to be covered in vines.

*eyes glancing over each of the housing as they passed them when they come to the one with the women covered in vines she tilted her head a bit looking the woman over*

"is it me or does she remind you of poison ivy from those batman comics?"

*she gave a grin and chuckled softly*
