Re: Finding Paradise (Hafnium)

Tamonten: HP = 81, PP = 57, EP = 62, Status = Fine

Despite the rather violent motions that her unconscious form was subjected to, Jasmine didn't even stir as she and Tamonten tumbled to the ground. The merchant just sort of stared at the two of them, not commenting on the incredible pain that Tamonten was subjected to in exchange for her protection of the unconscious woman. He simply stood and waited as she laid Jasmine down upon the ground, no spots looking particularly soft in comparison to their neighbors, and as she rose to her feet Tamonten found the assorted objects that she had wanted to sell sitting on the ground in front of her, as well as her sword and the clothing that Jasmine had given her the day before. Throughout their transaction, the man made no comment with only a single exception. When she handed him the darkbrain that she had acquired from the black oak, the merchant held the heavy crimson gem up for a moment and said; "Ahhhh! I'll buy it at a high price!"

Once she had sold what she wanted to, and had her sword enhanced as well, the strange merchant closed his coat and said; "Come back, any time!" And with that, he simply vanished into thin air, leaving her alone to carry just about all of her things, as well as the unconscious Jasmine down to the baths. She could put on her clothing, but she was also still filthy from her time with Jasmine and that might not be the best idea if she wanted to keep the silky faerie clothing from getting just as dirty. Her sword was in its sheath which was still attached to the strap that would allow her to put the weapon on her back, but where she would keep her clothes and all of the coins while still carrying Jasmine was up to her to figure out.

Re: Finding Paradise (Hafnium)

Chalk another one up for blind trust, she quipped inwardly as the merchant departed. No idea where I'm supposed to come back to. The swordswoman imagined that if that particular transaction had occurred, say, two days ago, she might have been a bit more confused by it all, at the very least she would have waved her sword menacingly at the coated man. Given what she had seen since arriving in Artmirst, however... Well, it was filed away under one of thousands of questions that she wanted to eventually ask Jasmine.

And speaking of Jasmine, how was she supposed to get the unconscious priestess and all her stuff back to the more, well, slightly more, familiar parts of the sanctuary? Their sudden appearance rode a thin line in-between convenient and inconvenient. She contemplated just putting her clothes on. It was another among many things that she would have done just a few days earlier, to preserve her modesty and out of a lack of concern about her clothes getting dirty. Said modesty was in low supply, at the moment, given that Tamonten would have had a grand total of two tents in her pants if she had put them on. Besides, the silky fey fabric was nice and clean and the human girl had rarely been given the opportunity to wear nice, clean clothing while she was in the wilderness.

She briefly considered draping the fabrics over the priestess, in case she got cold, but the idea seemed a little silly as she gave it more thought. When had she ever seen Jasmine wear anything, after all? In the end, she decided to use her clothing as an impromptu sack for the rest of her goods. She strapped her greatsword to her naked body. The swordswoman adjusted the slightly uncomfortable strap that ran between her breasts a few times and glanced at Jasmine with an envious frown before kneeling for her other things. She spread the silky shirt on the ground before placing her folded pants upon it. On the pants, she rested her denarii gains. She supposed that she should have been excited by her sudden burst in wealth, having never seen so much in one place before in her life, but couldn't muster it.

Without fanfare, the possessed woman wrapped her unfolded shirt around the rest and tied the edges into a few simple knots, leaving some space for easier holding, so that it would serve as a sack for a time. She carefully maneuvered the pseudo-bag onto the grip of her greatsword, allowing it to slide down until it had stopped at the cross-guard. After giving it a few tugs to confirm that it was secure, she returned to scoop up Jasmine and continue her search for either the river or the bath that the faerie woman had led her to the night before.

Despite her lack of clothing, her painful erections, the unconscious priestess, and the odd feeling that she might be appealing to some voyeur's fetish by walking around with nothing but a greatsword and sheath for clothing, it was shaping up to be a relaxing trip back to a source of clean water. Tamonten felt sated, energetic, and at peace as she cradled Jasmine close and strode forward to return her to cleanliness and a bed. It was a combination that was a rare privilege, for her, and she resolved to enjoy it, despite the odd circumstances, while she could.

Make hobo sack out of clothing and stick on the end of the greatsword, acquire priestess, get priestess a bath and a bed, hopefully obtain the former for Tamonten.

Consider seeking a healer's attention for erections lasting over... however many hours it is.

Also, consider merits of being able to stand while peeing thanks to demon penises.

After making a makeshift bag out of her clothing and tying that, filled with her freshly acquired coin, to the hilt of her greatsword, Tamonten lifted Jasmine from the ground once more and began on her way. The walk back down the path wasn't any easier with two still raging erections, a faerie in her arms and her sword on her back, but it went by quickly enough and without further incident. She didn't see anyone watching her, at least, and the river that ran through the faerie glade came into view soon enough. Her arms ached somewhat from carrying Jasmine for so long, and the faerie priestess wasn't conscious enough to raise any objections with being simply dumped into the water, but Tamonten also remembered that the pool that she, Jasmine and the alraune emissary had bathed in together wasn't that far from here. There would be a greater chance of being spotted by a wandering faerie, but it would make for a safer place to bathe all things considered.

The flowerbeds were right where Tamonten had left them, sitting across the stream, and while she couldn't see into any of them from where she stood, Tamonten would probably be able to find any empty one fairly easily. Once she'd had a good bath and given the same to her unconscious lover, of course.

Re: Finding Paradise (Hafnium)

After an uneventful trip to that point, she could only frown at the choice ahead. Her options even managed to dull the feelings of serenity she had held for the short walk in a way that her aching arms hadn't. But, the river wasn't really a suitable way to bathe her faerie partner and to go any further was to risk being spotted by another of the fae-folk. Her decision was all but made for her, in the end. Tamonten refused to manhandle the priestess in her sleep in the river like a pair of dirty clothes in order to clean her, so she needed to press onward.

The possessed girl crept carefully, trying to keep out of sight of any among the fey who might wander the area. It was was a task made all the more difficult by how her pale skin and white hair contrasted against the forest and the weariness brought about by holding the priestess, who she had kept cradled in her arms. Andven as she moved, it was difficult to shake the feeling that her decision would lead to trouble. She hastened in her efforts find her way back to the baths and wash up there, praying that it would go without incident.

Creep to yon baths. Prepare to practice 100 meter dash while carrying a faerie.

Re: Finding Paradise (Hafnium)

Tamonten: HP = 81, PP = 57, EP = 62, Status = Fine

Tamonten's luck seemed to be holding, at least for now, as she encountered no one in her search for the small hidden bathing pool in which she had "negotiated" with Jasmine and the alraune emissary the night before. As luck would have it, however, as she finally found the secluded little pool some ways down the stream, Tamonten was immediately greeted by a pair of excited and yet familiar voices; "Hello Tamonten!" "Hello Tamonten!"

The two siren's giggled at the sight of her, twin cocks still standing erect from her loins and Jasmine hanging limply in her arms. With the addition of her sword and the makeshift pack hanging from the hilt of it, she was likely quite a sight to the two faeries, who were lounging in the pool together. The two didn't try to molest her, thankfully, and eventually managed to coax her into the pool so that they could help clean her and Jasmine up.

The rest of Tamonten's day went largely without further incident, until the very end of it at least. She arrived at another meeting with Jasmine and the emissary, once more in the baths, and this time she brought Krig with her. The girl had awakened in the afternoon, blushing deeply at the sight of Tamonten as soon as she found her. The four of them decided to celebrate the peace accord between the faeries and plant-kin by getting drunk, Krig requiring surprisingly little convincing in this direction. Tamonten, upon getting drunk enough, simply blacked out.

When she awoke, she found herself in the flower fields as always, but this time she was in a cuddle puddle with Krig, Jasmine, and the alraune whom she vaguely remember calling Petunia for some reason. The faerie priestess was the first to awaken after her, and after the two managed to extricate themselves from their other partners and had an opportunity to get some water, which made a bit of headway into eliminating Tamonten's hangover, Jasmine explained that Tamonten had, after six or so cups of wine, firstly gone on a rant regarding the idea that she, Krig, and Petunia should all have had back problems because of their breasts, which the pale swordswoman had allegedly immediately began molesting one after another. One thing led to another, and after Petunia rather rudely sprayed Krig in the face with her aphrodisiac pollen, they had all ended up having sex. Lots of sex.

"And then, well.... You just sort of collapsed. I don't know how you did it, to be honest. I mean, if you count everything from when you woke up to when you passed out, I think you came almost thirty times.... That I know of." The priestess let out a light chuckle in order to conceal her blush, no doubt thanks to the fact that she had been a participant in at least half of Tamonten's alleged orgasms. Most of her cum had landed inside of Jasmine and Krig as well, and Petunia's belly had been swollen when the swordswoman had awakened that morning, and with Tamonten herself being the only partner that the alraune had been with as far as she knew, the slight weight that Jasmine had put on seemed a little suspect as well. "C'mon, lets get you dressed and then get something to eat. Krig and Petunia should be awake shortly, I left Krig an outfit like yours, so she'll hopefully be a bit more comfortable walking around than she was before. I'll leave someone nearby to make sure they find their way to us later," Jasmine said, and unless there was some objection to that idea from Tamonten she quickly called up a gruff, who wordlessly retrieved Tamonten's clothing before moving to watch over the flowerbeds impassively.

Tamonten was led to another secluded spot once she as fully dressed, and food once more magically appeared before her. Jasmine didn't even wait before starting to eat this time, letting Tamonten dig in to the small feast set out before her. Petunia and Krig showed up a few minutes later, the former offering Tamonten a smirk and a nod as she patted her engorged belly, while Krig smiled more genuinely despite how her fox-like ears seemed to be drooping slightly, "good morning, Tamonten." The two set down to eat with her and Jasmine, Petunia sticking largely to fruit while Krig began scarfing down random things almost as ravenously as Tamonten did the first time she'd eaten with Jasmine.

The meal passed largely in silence, the other three speaking little save to answer questions from Tamonten, until finally they were all satisfied. Finally, Jasmine let out a sigh and said; "So, Tamonten. It's time I told you more about the one who I think might be able to help you with your demon problem. Are you still set on going to see them, despite the dangers?" Krig looked slightly confused at this, as did Petunia, though the latter looked more curious while her fox eared lover looked more like she was concerned.

Re: Finding Paradise (Hafnium)

The day had ended in relative peace. After her bath was completed and Jasmine had been cleaned and left in one of the comfortable flowerbeds, Tamonten relaxed in the faerie sanctuary, sitting with her back against a tree, mostly nursing her soreness and thinking to herself, for several hours. But perhaps the most calming part of her being alone at the time was that, if she didn't want to be, she didn't have to be alone. It was a choice rather than a requirement. Occasionally, a member of the fae-folk passed by the reclining swordswoman; most were friendly enough despite being on their way to conduct their own business but all served to remind her that she was almost part of a community again.

She sighed softly and smiled to herself, leaning further back against the tree. A few pangs of doubt and uncertainty at the road ahead flitted through her head, but were eventually shooed away by serenity. The Lady of Acheron might have an answer for her problem and that was enough to keep her in high spirits. When it was all said and done, when – indeed when, not if – she was free of her possession, she would be free to pursue her dream of being a legendary swordsman, just like in the books. The swordswoman could spend her days battling those that would threaten innocents and her nights among the faeries, boasting of the day's events and merrymaking. She would go and see her parents and village again. Maybe she could bring Krig to meet her father and mother?

That would be nice, she thought, imagining such an introduction, as she relaxed so much that she drifted into a nap.
Tamonten had been woken from her nap and summoned to another impromptu peace summit. While mildly disappointed that her lazing about would have to come to an end, the human girl was glad to be a part of it. She dressed quickly, despite the suspicion that her clothed status would last about as long as it ever did in the faerie priestess's care, and made her way to heed the summons.

She did make a slight detour, however, as she sought out Krig to bring her along, not expecting the negotiations to go quite so... heatedly as the time before. Her heart had fluttered when she spied the fox-eared woman again, with Tamonten sharing in her lover's blush, even as her spaded black tail coyly wrapped itself around her own leg. The very presence of the fox-girl was enough to put an extra spring in the swordswoman's step as they ventured off to the baths.

It wasn't a long trip, especially not with Kringlicsly at her side. And she was pleasantly surprised to find that the event appeared to be more celebration than meeting—although much the same could be said for the night before. She was even more pleased that wine was present. The swordswoman had never been allowed a glass in her youth. The idea of being allowed to drink as much and whatever she wanted felt pleasing in an almost rebellious way. She had, of course, immediately taken a cup and was able to see the bottom in short order. She frowned, wondering what was so special about alcohol, since nothing had changed, and took one refill, then another, and so on.

Tamonten had consumed cup number six by the time the wine had caught up with her. She discovered in short order that she was, in fact, a very light drinker, and would have shortly determined that she wasn't a good drunk except her rational mind had packed up and taken a bit of a nap after the first revelation.
After some time spent staring at the ground, trying to remember how to form words while listening to Jasmine speak in what must have been a foreign language, the drunken girl finally gave up on all that and let her eyes wander. Their course took them across the other three women a few times, almost as if attempting to determine if they were part of some grand conspiracy, before eventually settling on Jasmine, who was speaking at the time. From there, her field of view quickly centered on the faerie's breasts as she narrowed her eyes at the sight of them slightly jiggling as the faerie spoke.

Without a word, Tamonten's hand reached forward and grabbed a handful of Jasmine's bosom, much as she had earlier when the woman had been unconscious. Her other hand grabbed her own breast through her clothing. She sat in silence for several seconds as she shamelessly squeezed and molested the priestess's breastflesh in full view of the other two. "It isn't fair," she finally announced to everybody who was watching, as soon as she had recalled how to form words. "Mine aren't even jugs," she lamented aloud, before removing both of her hands in order to pull her top off and motion to her own chest. "They're more like cups... or vases... or..." she trailed off, forgetting where she was going with that particular subject.

With a sudden burst of motion, she grabbed the faerie's soft orbs, one in each hand, and began to roughly fondle them. "But you have these giant tits. No, these are too big to be tits. They're like pelicans!" The drunk human gave a particularly firm squeeze at her exclamation. "And you just walk around all day, all graceful, all nude... All sexy and stuff. And you swing those hips, I don't even have hips, these aren't hips." She pouted. "And these things are gigantic! It's not fair! You should have back problems or something, walking around all day without clothes or any sort of support!" her mood swung again, accompanied by an enthusiastically continued molestation of the woman. "This body is so lewd and so offensive to women like me that it needs to be punished!" Tamonten exclaimed as she let go of the faerie's breasts, only to grab Jasmine and yank her, twirling the fae woman in the process, so that the green flesh of her back pressed into the topless woman's chest. Then, without missing a beat, the swordswoman hooked her arms underneath the priestess's and continued to molest her much as she had before.

≈≈≈≈≈

The drunk swordswoman had all but ignored the other two as she pinched and squeezed at Jasmine. It took them quite a bit of effort simply to take her attention off of molesting the shapely faerie. When they finally did, however, her alcohol-fueled rampage wasn't even near over, instead they had only succeeded in giving her a new target.

The pale-skinned mortal's attention had settled on Krig, next, although her eyes didn't immediately go for the woman's perfect, soft mounds. The fox-girl's face was all that she cared to focus on for the moment. Tamonten's face lit up like a beacon and her tail, in an emulation of not more than half an hour prior, coiled around her leg. The blushing girl giggled drunkenly as she took in Kringlicsly's features. She let go of Jasmine without thinking about it – not that she was thinking about much – and approached the kitsune.

"Hehe, these are neat," she started, as her hands groped at the fox-like ears. She began to rub them between her thumbs and forefingers, like one might with a cat. "Hey, do you feel it when I do this?" she asked as she stood on her tiptoes in order to enclose her mouth around part of one of Krig's ears and suckled at it. "Or how 'bout this?" The girl mumbled around the ear in her mouth as her pale hand dived to stroke at the fluffy fox tail, although her version of stroking the tail was very, very lewd in nature.

The molestation of her kitsune lover's animal-like ears and tail stopped as the swordswoman's eyes wandered to her hair. She let go of the other woman's parts and pouted. "Your hair is so pretty. I wish I could do something with this, white is so boring." she flipped her own hair, showing off the milky white locks. But, in the end, her examination didn't last too long before her eyes wandered to the fox-girl's chest.

"Aw, even Krig's are bigger than mine," she sulked as her hand leapt out towards the fox-girl's breast to give it much the same treatment as she had given Jasmine. Her mood suddenly swung in entirely the opposite direction as she continued, though that didn't stop her molestation of the spirit wielder. "But you're still okay in my book, 'cause you're cute and I love you," she giggled. "I guess I'm not supposed to love because of the demon and stuff, might hurt somebody I care about or something," she continued drunkenly. "Well I say screw him! He isn't even a real demon, he lives in an arm. At least live in a basement, or an attic, or a cellar, or under a bed or something. What kind of self-respecting demon squats in someone's limbs!?"

At some point during her ranting, the swordswoman had pulled Krig in close to her, similarly to how she had grabbed Jasmine not long earlier, and begun to absentmindedly fondle one of the woman's breasts with her pale hand even as she spoke. "And it's always dear child this or dear child that. I'm not his child! My parents were awesome and he's just some lame arm demon!"

Tamonten looked ready to continue for a few moments, but stopped suddenly as she looked at the kitsune she was molesting. "So nice and soft. Let's do dirty things, Krig, I don't care who's watching," she announced, regardless of the foxgirl's say on the matter, as her free hand grabbed at the woman's other breast in order to join its pale partner in crime.

≈≈≈≈≈

Eventually, perhaps by virtue of the plant being the only one unmolested to that point, Tamonten's attention turned on Petunia. And yet, for some reason her body wouldn't allow her to let go of Krig, so she simply dragged the foxgirl with her on her approach to the plant, playing with her breasts the entire way. "And you!" She addressed the alraune. "Don't think you're getting out of this just 'cause you cum maple syrup. Why do you need bigger tits than I do!?" The swordswoman demanded of the diplomat, as if she would have some answer for it. "Don't you understand that when you have such huge boobs, it takes some away from the rest of us? It's the law of averages! Average breasts! You've stolen some of my potential boobage!"

The swordswoman grabbed at Petunia, while still managing to hold onto Krig, and wrapped her arms around both in order to massage their orbs at the same time. "I'll punish all three of you for this!" Tamonten announced maniacally, fiercely groping the two in the process.

≈≈≈≈≈

In the end, one thing had led to another and after a healthy groping of the fox-girl, alraune, and faerie, a bit of pollen had been exchanged between Petunia and Krig. Tamonten, obviously in the purposes of justice, ended up giving Petunia a spanking while Jasmine took some liberties with the violently aroused kitsune. It was hardly the swordswoman's fault that while administering the spanking she, herself, had become aroused and managed to sprout no less than three cocks, the third from her tail. It was only fair that she make the three other women take care of what they had caused her. At least, it wasn't her fault and it was fair in the drunk girl's mind.

"Oh gods," Tamonten quietly groaned as she awoke in a pile of warm women. Oh gods, she repeated silently as she looked at the three, trying both to piece together just what had happened the night before and not awake them. Ohgodsohgodsohgodsohgodsohgodsohgodsohgods, she considered for emphasis as she noticed Petunia looking very much pregnant. As such, she was very happy when Jasmine helped her escape the cuddle pile. She was very much less happy when she realized she had wings. Still, one glance at the tummies of Petunia and Jasmine told her that, surprisingly, sprouting full-fledged leathery, black, bat-like wings that seemed at least large enough to grant her flight was, somehow, the least of her concerns.

The swordswoman dressed in silence, although she couldn't get her top on for the wings and had to improvise. She ended up wrapping the fabric carefully so that it covered her chest, midsection, and as much of her lower back as possible, and tying the sleeves in a bow to hold it in place. Outwardly, she followed Jasmine, ate, and listened in silence. Inwardly, the question "what did I do last night" was asked quite frequently. Jasmine's tale did manage to explain why she couldn't feel a thing south of her waist, though.

When Petunia showed up, Tamonten's first reaction was to mimic the look of a startled deer and freeze in that exact expression. After she managed to get control of herself, however, she offered a small smile and nod, uncertain of what else to do. At Krig's smile, her reaction was much more genuine. The other telltale signs of her affection, the swordswoman blushing like a schoolgirl looking at a first crush and her tail taking on a mind of its own, were joined by her bat-like wings spreading slightly. The reminder that she now had wings was slightly softened by the kitsune's presence, at least. "Good morning, Krig."

Thankfully, Jasmine getting down to business managed to drive the rest of the lingering reminders of impending fatherhood and the latest set of appendages Tamonten had managed to grow overnight out of the swordswoman's mind. She gave a slight nod, happy to get down to business. "It's the only way I'll be able stay with those I love and care for without endangering them, so it's the only option." She avoided looking at any of the women present in particular, since they all fell under at least one of the two defined. "I would listen to anything you have to tell me, Lady Jasmine. I would not wish to run afoul of her and endanger the peace."

Jasmine was apparently just as eager to get down to business as Tamonten was, and began immediately; "The first thing that you should know is that, despite the fact that she is extremely powerful, the Lady of Acheron is fairly well mannered for a demon. Her servants, however, are still more or less exactly like what one would expect from a demon, so you must be very careful. So long as you are polite and careful around her, you should have nothing to fear once you reach her sanctuary somewhere near the heart of the city, but until then be suspect of anything that you come across. Though they're cut off from Hell, the demons in Artmirst are still both dangerous and numerous. Don't worry too much about the peace accord, she recognizes that not all of her kin share her peaceful intent, and she will not begrudge you slaying those that attack you.

"It would be best to stick to the main roads as much as possible, as they are the most explored by treasure hunters and therefore likely to have fewer hostile demons patrolling them. I can't send anyone with you without making it look like a demand from me, but any members of faeriekind that you come across will offer you whatever assistance they can. Before you go, give me your shirt. I'll have it altered so that it fits with your wings." After that, Jasmine waited for Tamonten to disrobe, showing no shame at asking her to disrobe, and then departed with her garment. Petunia sighed and rose a moment later, stretching. Turning toward Tamonten, the alraune smiled and said; "I must be off as well. Need to go find someplace to see these off properly~!" She gave her belly a pat and winked at the pale swordswoman, but then looked serious for a moment and continued; "Stay safe Tamonten. I'm sure that I don't have to tell you that members of demonkind are not to be dealt with lightly, and the ancient one regarded the Lady of Acheron with fear. Be careful."

The alraune left a moment later, leaving Tamonten alone with Krig. After a brief awkward silence, the violet haired girl blushed and sidled closer to Tamonten, so that their legs were touching just slightly. "I could go with you, if you want. I'm not one of the fey, and I can handle myself," Krig offered hesitantly, and looked to Tamonten with a sheepish smile as she awaited the swordswoman's response.

Re: Finding Paradise (Hafnium)

She offered a few nods as Jasmine explained things to her. Though, when the request to pull her top off came the swordswoman could only blush. It took a little bit of mentally berating herself after all, considering what she had apparently done in front of and to them last night, at least according to the faerie... – before she could muster the courage and determination to untie the bow and expose her small, perky breasts to the trio yet again. In the end, it was done without flourish, and the silky fae fabric was handed off to Jasmine before the first green woman departed.

Tamonten felt a pang of relief when the second green woman didn't express a desire for her to come with. She wasn't entirely sure how pregnancies should work and, if she was the father, whether or not she should accompany the diplomat. Wait a second, hadn't she...? Oh gods, I don't even know what happened to them, she thought as a look of abject terror washed over her expression. It had felt like nothing more than a dream after she had woken up to the sirens, but were there a bunch of little plants running about now that had spawned from her loins? Was she the worst mother ever? Was she a mother? The ominous warning that followed almost seemed a welcome respite from those questions. "Thank you for your well-wishes. I'll be careful. Good, uh, luck in your own efforts," she offered in response before the emissary had left.

That left Krig and Tamonten, alone with their awkward silence. For a moment, the swordswoman was considering blurting out an apology. But before she could, the foxgirl blushed and sidled closer, making the manacled woman's heart melt. The request that followed managed to sober that feeling, slightly, though left her somewhere in the middle of earlier terror and wanting to hug Kringlicsly. In the end, in a moment of unusual confidence, she compromised, wrapping an arm around Krig and softly pulling her in closer. A smile came easily to Tamonten's lips as she regarded the violet-haired woman, considering her as one of the main reasons to pursue the Lady of Acheron and brave all the dangers that came with speaking to a powerful demon.

"It's going to be very dangerous," she warned. Indeed, even as she cautioned the woman, Tamonten remembered all too well the sense of horror that had played at her heart when she considered the prospect of the light draining from Kringlicsly's eyes had they all been torn apart by the plants in the black oak's clearing. "You're very special to me. You know that, right? And not many would be willing to rush back into danger after such a narrow escape from the corrupted father." For just a moment, the swordswoman pretended to be more than just fractionally more experienced than Krig, at best.

Secretly, she wanted the kitsune by her side, because she felt happy and increasingly more comfortable around Krig, but the idea of losing her or watching her get hurt sparked a greater terror in Tamonten than any she had ever known to that point. "You could stay here where it's safe, if you liked." The swordswoman couldn't find it in her to out-and-out tell the foxgirl no, only to caution her. Part of her wanted to use some line about how if Krig was in the fey sanctuary, it would give her all the more motivation to return to the sanctuary safely, or how the manacled girl might not be able to protect her, but that seemed unfair. The kitsune was a woman grown, after all, and it was rightly her choice.

Probably not much to respond to here, but I didn't want to force this particular conversation. Sorry!

Re: Finding Paradise (Hafnium)

Tamonten: HP = 81, PP = 57, EP = 62, Status = Fine

Krig smiled at Tamonten as the pale girl wrapped an arm around her back, the expression equal parts joy and nervousness, but she leaned into the embrace and rested her head upon Tamonten's shoulder. "I know it'll be dangerous, but if I'm with you, I won't have anything to worry about," Krig said confidently, "When that evil tree was choking the life out of me, and lifting me up to rot in its canopy, you saved me Tamonten. Even against that monstrous thing, you were strong enough to save all of us. And, even if it means we'd have to fight more, there isn't anywhere in the world that I'd rather be than beside you."

There was a pause in which Krig merely looked up at Tamonten with wide, vibrant, violet eyes, and she was close enough now that Tamonten could see the hints of red, blue, and even a bit of green mixed within them to form their unusual color. "If you'll have me, I'll happily go with you anywhere, Tamonten. But if you think I'd be a distraction, or that me being around would be a liability, I'd understand that. I won't put you in more danger by getting in the way, but I can take care of myself if I have to, even if I don't like to fight," she continued evenly, but the smile on her face never left as she looked up at Tamonten, as if she was happy merely being close to her like this.

Some time later, Jasmine returned bearing Tamonten's altered clothing, which now had much of the back cut out to allow her to move her wings freely. Instead, the green clothing had a hoop of cloth that went around the neck, and the front side of it hung from that. It still covered most of her lower back as well, but the sleeves were gone and a number of tiny multicolored beads had been stitched into the fabric. Regardless of what position she found Tamonten and Krig in when she arrived, Jasmine smiled and offered her her shirt back once it was convenient to do so. "They should be just as comfortable as before, and I even had them altered a little bit to offer you some added protection, in case you have to fight something," Jasmine said as Tamonten took the garment, and when the pale swordswoman was decent once more Krig rose to stand beside her, and Jasmine continued; "If you would have anything else from me, either in the way of supplies or information, ask it now. I don't think I'll be able to offer you much help on your journey once you leave the sanctuary. I can have a guide lead you to the road, but after that you'll be on your own."

(I forgot if I gave her an eye color again. >.> So I made one up! Also, hipster Tamonten. This is a good plan. It also gives your clothing an additional +1 AV and +4 TP.)

Re: Finding Paradise (Hafnium)

"But I'm worried, Krig," the swordswoman replied somberly. "I would explore the world with you, because you make me," she paused for a moment, partly searching for the word and partly getting lost in the kitsune's unusual eye coloration. "You make me happy. And I want to be with you and bask in that happiness. But, it brings me terror to think of a day when we encounter something against which we won't be able to protect ourselves, let alone each other..." Tamonten gave a thoughtful look at the violet-haired girl in her embrace.

"If you wish to come with me, it's your decision and I would never tell you that you can't. I can only hope that you can accompany me for the rest of my days. But I'd like you to promise something," the possessed girl stopped, allowing the words to hang in the air ominously, even as she held the kitsune close to herself. She broke that very same silence abruptly. "Run. If there ever comes a time when I have fallen, whether to my own demon or those that will beset us, or we are overwhelmed, I want you to flee and secure your own safety. Leave me to any fate that comes upon me and return to tell Jasmine that I have failed. Tell me that you will run if that day comes." She spoke up again in order to interrupt any protest that the foxgirl might issue. "Please promise me, Krig," she pleaded.

Regardless of how Krig had reacted, once Jasmine came back the swordswoman offered a smile and nod. Tamonten stood up and equipped herself in silence, putting on the new shirt and smiling at the alterations. She had always wanted to wear something of the sort but had never mustered the courage for it, the wings were a silent blessing in that regard. The pale girl checked her greatsword, hunting knife, and the satchel in which she kept her odds and ends. She wagged her spaded tail through the air and slightly extended her wings, although she didn't have nearly enough control over the latter to do any sort of flying with them yet. She spun around in place, fully geared up, and, with a wide grin, asked the two girls; "How do I look?"

Seriousness prevailed, however, as she began to thank the priestess. "I've always known that this was a journey that I would ultimately be responsible for, but your help has been invaluable, Lady Jasmine. You have done much and more for me, more than I may ever be able to repay. While I'm already so far in the red, I might as well ask: is there spare fruit and drink for the road?" She ended on a light note.

If Krig makes the promise then Tamonten is pretty much good to go!

Otherwise, if Krig still wants to tag along but not willing to make the promise, Tamonten is still ready to go.

If Krig doesn't want to go now, for some reason, some apologies may be in order on Tamonten's part. >.>

(Also, Fetish: Violet Eyes with hints of Red, Blue, and Green)

Re: Finding Paradise (Hafnium)

Tamonten: HP = 81, PP = 57, EP = 62, Status = Fine

NPC Stats:
Krig: HP = 46, PP = 47, EP = 121, Status = Fine

The air of vague menace created by Tamonten's request that her lover promise her something dominated the silent air for a moment, and Krig's smile slowly turned into a frown as Tamonten went over the promise that she wanted the kitsune to give to her. She took her head off of the swordswoman's shoulder and oriented herself to face Tamonten more squarely, though she remained close courtesy of Tamonten's arm around her shoulders and her own arm that still lay behind Tamonten's back. She allowed the promise to hang in the air for a moment, the frown heavy upon her face as she looked Tamonten directly in the eyes.

"Tamonten..... I know why you're asking me for this promise, but.... It's not something that I can give you, not with any degree of certainty at least. I've never felt the way that I do about anyone else before, and that thought of... Of just leaving you like that.... I don't think that I could do it! Not if it was you...." She trailed off and sighed, but her face became resolute a moment later, and in a far stronger tone than she'd ever demonstrated before, Kringlicsly said; "I can make you something similar to that promise, Tamonten. I can promise you that I will run, only if it looks as if we stand no chance of victory. I will come back here, and I will seek the aid of Lady Jasmine."

She paused, and her violet eyes hardened into stony pools, their color changing briefly to a slate grey before Krig went on; "But I will never abandon you, Tamonten. Not to the very worst abominations that this world or any other might conjure to stand in our path, and not to the demon that lies within you. Not now, not ever. If I do have to leave you behind, it will only be so that I can come back and save you later. Even if it breaks whatever treaty Jasmine might have signed, if I have to I will force the woman to help me come for you, no force in the world will stop me from coming back for you. I promise you that, Tamonten. It's.... It's the best that I can give you, and lets hope that it's not going to come to that."

She paused again and blushed slightly, her eyes returning to normal as she gazed somewhat sheepishly at Tamonten following her dramatic display. "And.... Could you promise me something too?" the fox girl began, "Can you promise that you won't throw yourself into danger if you don't have to? I don't know if I can deal with all this stress!"

Later, when Tamonten showed of her new clothes, Krig blushed and smiled appreciatively, while Jasmine gave a broad smirk and said; "They look wonderful! Almost as good on you as they would on the forest floor~!" Despite the suggestive comment, there was nothing to support that train of thought in the faerie woman's expression, which could only be described as strained despite her mirthful words. Becoming more serious following Tamonten's request, Jasmine replied; "I've already got some food and water prepared for you to take with you. And don't you worry about owing me a thing, Tamonten! You've already done a great deal for me and mine, so just make sure that you get back safe and sound." When she noted the Krig had risen with Tamonten, Jasmine quickly amended; "Make sure that BOTH of you get back here safe and sound!"

Jasmine gave both women a hug, starting with Krig and then moving in to grasp Tamonten firmly in her arms, pulling her tight briefly before giving her a peck on the cheek. "Your guide has your food, and is ready to take you to the outskirts of Artmirst. He's by the bathing pools, you probably know how to get there by now. Good luck and fare thee well, Tamonten and Kringlicsly! Know that you will always have a home here, both of you, and know that the hearts of many of the friends you've made go with you on your journey. We'll be thinking of you until you return." Krig nodded and simply replied; "We'll be back soon."

And then, once Tamonten had said her final goodbyes to the faerie priestess, they were off. The initial journey through the faerie sanctuary was short and easy, all things considered, and the two of them arrived at the pool by the stream a short while later to find the very satyr that had brought Tamonten to this place standing there waiting for them. He handed Tamonten a backpack that felt more or less full and offered her a friendly smile in greeting, and said; "Greetings Lady Tamonten, Lady Kringlicsly. I am to lead you two to the edge of the ruined city. Are you prepared?"

When they reported that they were, the satyr wasted no time in leading them off through the woods. They left the faerie sanctuary a short while later, and moved for several miles through the wilderness, during which time they encountered nothing more dangerous than a small herd of deer and an easily circumnavigated shorn weed. The sun reached the apex of the sky, marking the time as somewhere around noon by the time they broke from the trees and came upon the road once more. It was then that Tamonten looked once more upon the desiccated remains of Artmirst, and realized that she stood now in almost the exact same place she'd stood only a few days ago, when she had first come here in search of a solution to the problem still housed within her arm. The corpses of the wolves she'd slain that day were gone, but the signs of the battle that had taken place were evident still. The ruined buildings hadn't changed, but there seemed to be less smoke now, save for one instance. A large mansion was visible to the North, burning brightly as if someone or something had deliberately set fire to it.

"Lets be off then, it's only a short ways from here," the satyr said solemnly, and led Tamonten and Krig on down the road. The trio came to the edge of town, where the shop that Tamonten had met him after fighting off the demonic spiders still stood, right where she'd left it, and that was where the satyr stopped and turned toward them. "I can go no further, I am afraid. Good luck to you on your paths, my friends, and beware. Though Lady Jasmine has made peace with one demoness, not all are so easily divorced of their vile natures. Be wary, and trust none whom you meet in this dark place." Again, Krig offered only a nod and short response; "Thank you, good sir, both for your guidance and for your well wishes. We will be careful."

With the satyr departing their company as well, Tamonten and Krig were left alone at the entrance to Artmirst. The path before her was clear, to the heart of the city and the Lady of Acheron, but even so, she had many options. Taking the main roads, as Jasmine had earlier suggested, would take a while but would be the safest route. The two of them could branch off form the main path if they so chose, but that ran the potential risk of getting lost along with the heightened threat of discovery by hostile creatures. Of course, it also held the greatest chance of discovering hidden treasures. Of course, they could try to search out someplace to take a rest along either route as well, or perhaps someplace to search for loot, as Artmirst held many homes and businesses that might yet yield some treasure. They would only have to look in the right places in order to find it.

Re: Finding Paradise (Hafnium)

"Thank you, Krig," she responded at first. The swordswoman found that she was genuinely grateful for the sentiment, though that didn't stop her from wanting to protest that a peace between the demons of Artmirst and the fae was far more important than she would ever be. Tamonten couldn't form the words, however, for the sincerity and straightforwardness of the spirit wielder. Besides, Jasmine would surely stop Kringlicsly should she ever have to flee and request aid, the priestess knew the importance of the greater picture to a much higher extent than the possessed girl. Afterward, it was Tamonten's turn to offer a sheepish smile. "I'll try my best."

The swordswoman didn't even blush at Jasmine's line, instead only offering a small smile. Given how sore she still was, it wasn't exactly an activity she wished to pursue at the time, even if the priestess had been truly interested. At that moment the chafing was so bad that Tamonten was sure she'd never feel lust again, though when she gave a glance towards the kitsune and then the priestess in order to shortly admire their beauty and curves in turns... Maybe not never. She listened in silence afterward, managing to avoid the urge to give a few inappropriate squeezes when she had been wrapped in a hug, and only spoke after Krig had offered her assurance. "We might even be back before dinner," she announced, only half-jokingly, even though she, herself, knew that the other half was overconfidence. "Thanks again, Lady Jasmine."

Then it was time to go. As she left the faerie woman behind, the manacled human managed to ignore the little whisper in her heart that suggested she stay in the peaceful grove and enjoy the rest of her days among the hospitality of the faeries. Her journey was more than just a personal quest, though. She had a duty to all those who cared for her and believed in her. It was time to vanquish the demon in her limb so that it could never again harm those she loved.

When they met with the satyr, the swordswoman offered a nod and a smile in greeting, and then another nod to confirm that she was ready to go. She slid on the straps of the backpack offered to her and was off as soon as Krig had confirmed her readiness. The uneventful trip barely registered to the woman, especially relative to the thoughts of what was to come. In what, to her, felt like a flash, they were in Artmirst. "Thank you," she added to Krig's own gratitude. "Go safely. And tell Jasmine to save some wine for our triumphant return," she concluded with a grin.

"The neighborhood has really gone to hell, hasn't it?" Tamonten joked once their guide had left. "I bet there's not a decent bakery for miles." Her attempts at humor pulled double duty as attempts to hide her uneasiness. Deep down, she wanted to leave. The pale-skinned girl wanted to go back to the faerie sanctuary, to take the easy road and ignore the silent death waiting in her arm. That very same manacled limb shook powerfully with the return to Artmirst.

The demon inside her could sense its kin, no doubt, and through it Tamonten could sense them too. There was no detail to it, she couldn't pinpoint any potential assailant. But she could tell that the former Badarian town was crawling with demonkind. Taint and corruption filled the air and stained the ground. It was a town of the dead and oppressed and it had been desecrated. It seemed unlikely that life would ever flourish there again.

For a second, the sights left her in despair again. But it was only that second. I'm not the person I was when I first came here. I'm stronger now. I slew the black oak, I destroyed all those who would have protected it. I defeated the lady knight. I defended myself from those that had been tainted by this very land. The swordswoman took heart in her own thoughts, gaining courage as she continued. I was alone, but no longer. Krig is at my side and the belief of all those who would number themselves as my friends is behind me. Her eyes gradually began to settle into a glare aimed at the center of the city as her inner litany continued. I am not afraid. I will let nothing stand between me and my goal. Let the demon tremble in fear with each step I take into this accursed town, towards its inevitable doom. "This is the end of the road," she said aloud, speaking more to the demon than anyone else present.

The possessed woman looked at her kitsune partner, determination burning in her green eyes. "Let's go, Krig." The main road was the only option in her mind. There was no time for treasure hunting, she had a duty to perform, and Krig was more precious to her than any jewel they might risk life and dignity to find among the ruins. It was time to push forward until the need for rest absolutely overtook them.

Tamonten takes the main road! If she's on it long enough for it to get dark, then she'll consider finding a place to rest, but otherwise press onward!

Tamonten's quick stats: 25 perception, 60 dodge (10 is from unarmed bonus), 3 armor (2 DU, 29 TP), 31 resistance.

Cheat Sheet
When taking HP damage: 3 Armor reduction from 3 DU, 29 TP clothes. She takes d4 + 9 pleasure damage, half of which is gained as EP.

When dealing HP damage: She takes d4+9 pleasure damage, half of which is gained as EP. On a killing blow she makes a 21 + (Damage Done/10)*Monster Tier Resistance check against all opponents within 30 feet with line of sight to her. If they fail once, they can't attack that round. If they fail a second time they surrender or flee. Additionally, on a killing blow she makes a second attack against an adjacent target at -10 damage and -10 attack.

When taking EP damage: She takes an additional 16 EP damage from Open Soul x4.

When taking PP damage: She takes an additional 4 PP damage from sensitive. An additional 8 (overall 12) PP damage if her opponent is a member of the fey or a plant. She regains EP equal to half of PP damage taken.

Tamonten: HP = 81, PP = 57, EP = 62, Status = Fine

NPC Stats:
Krig: HP = 46, PP = 47, EP = 117/121, Status = Fine

Rolls
Perception (Tamonten) : Roll of 2, total 27. She spots none!
Perception (Krig) : Roll of 7, total of 39. She spots 1!
Krig puts up a Holy Wall around Tamonten and herself for 4 EP and 1 EP upkeep!
Resistance: Krig wins.
Damage: 4 + 4 = 8 * 2 = 16 damage.

"I don't know about decent, but there's a bakery right over there! Or at least what's left of one," Krig said as she gestured toward a building that had completely collapsed, a badly burned sign sitting in front of it bearing a picture of a pie. Or at least it looked like a pie, it was somewhat hard to tell given the amount of wear and tear. The fox girl's ears flitted about nervously, turning all about as if searching for something, and despite her attempt at humor she was obviously nervous as well. Still, when Tamonten announced aloud that this was the end of the road, Krig looked at her with confusion for a moment before realizing just who she was speaking to. A particularly violent shiver from her blackened arm was the only response that Tamonten got from the demon locked within her, but she could sense that it knew her purpose here all the same.

"Kay!" Krig said evenly, and quickly moved to follow Tamonten as the possessed girl began her trek through the ruined city. Every one of the streets that they passed were filthy and filled with death. Corpses, ranging from skeletons of those long dead to fresh dead with blood still dripping from their wounds, dotted their path with disturbing frequency. The former greatly outnumbered the latter, but not all of the bodies were of demons. They passed a dead man barely more than ten minutes out, his throat torn out and a shattered rifle lying beside him. The crows were all over him, but what was visible through the small sea of shiny black feathers was gruesome enough to make Krig cover her mouth with one hand and look away.

A trio of dead satyrs were visible down an alley a short ways after that, though just what might have killed them wasn't clear. What was clear was the aura of deadly menace that radiated from that alleyway, as if something horrible had happened in that place. Krig gave that one a wide berth, and tugged Tamonten away if she displayed even the slightest hint of curiosity at it. If asked about it, the fox girl simply shook her head and said; "Sometimes, it's better not knowing."

It was a short while after that, when they'd been walking for maybe half an hour in total, that Krig suddenly halted, spun toward her, and shouted; "Watch out!" The violet haired kitsune waved a hand in a half circle in front of her, and a transparent dome of white light suddenly appeared all around them. An impact sounded behind and to Tamonten's right side as something flattened against the barrier, and she turned to see something retreat away from the barrier surrounding them.

A series of low hissing sounds began to appear all around them a moment later, and Tamonten estimated that six or so creatures were circling around them. They were all but invisible, Tamonten being able to catch no more than a shimmer out of the corner of her eye from time to time, but the sounds continued to emanate from all sides. "What do we do now? I don't think they're going to go away on their own," Krig said urgently, her own eyes glowing softly as she maintained the barrier protecting the two of them.

Re: Finding Paradise (Hafnium)

The uneventful portions of the trip were torture in themselves. As the swordswoman and her partner, in so many senses of the word, wandered down the path, so, too, did the former's mind. Her thoughts arrived at the Lady of Acheron far before Tamonten, herself, would. What would she ask? What would she say? To deal with such a powerful demon, the kin of the very thing that had so damned her. But Jasmine had trusted her enough to agree to peace...

She was interrupted by the sight of the dead rifleman. And she was, in some small way, happy for it. The grisly sight reminded her that it was a test, it was all a test. If she couldn't make it through the city, she was as doomed as she had ever been, and nothing could change that. The swordswoman could only hope that she hadn't forced her own fate on Krig, that if she failed, the kitsune would succeed in fleeing. As the spirit wielder covered her mouth and looked away, the pale-skinned girl looked on coldly, remembering Kasumi. "May the gods show you mercy in the next life, whoever you may have been in this one," she whispered to the crow-covered corpse, really to all of the bodies, as she certainly wouldn't have time to pray for all the dead.

Her mind wandered to Kasumi as they continued. To the black oak. What evils had tainted this land? It was worse than any story she had ever read. At least in the books, there was always a happy ending, or at least an ambiguous one. The knight rescued the princess, or, in Anudorian fiction, the princess rescued the prince. The swordsman traveled from school to school, attaining true perfection. The mercenary renounced his wicked masters and fought for justice. Love bloomed, despair withered and died. But in Artmirst it seemed the opposite. Could a good end be found in the city?

She was taken from her thoughts again, the second time by the sight of the trio of satyrs. She frowned, remembering the ones she had met in the sanctuary, hoping that they never found such a fate. But that sadness was swiftly replaced by a primal wariness as she passed the scene and Krig stayed well away. It was as if some ancient mammalian instinct had awoken in her to tell her that there were other predators around, and they were much more dangerous than her. Yet, curiosity trumped that instinct as she found herself stalking into the alley. Thankfully, Krig tugged her away, and spoke before Tamonten could ask why. After a few seconds of looking at the foxgirl's face, Tamonten bowed to the spirit wielder's wisdom with a nod and continued on.

But that curiosity continued to weigh on her mind during the walk. That and the rest of the world felt ready to bend her over for the burden. The mere portion of an hour that followed was its own little brand of hell. She remembered her parents, her friends, and the farm she had grown up in. The swordswoman recalled her lessons with her father; those semi-annual trips to the little village that she had thought to be the biggest city in the world at the time. The loss of her virginity, the betrayal. The time spent hunting in the woods and thieving from small farmsteads just to survive. She remembered the corrupt wolves, the spiders, and her intimate meeting with the satyr. Jasmine, the knight, those she had led. The battle against the corrupted father.

Krig was a constant, for all the doubts and hope that arose from thinking of her. That morning she had spent with the foxgirl, that spark of joy she gained just from being near the other woman. But the doubt was terrible in its manner and quantity, as Tamonten wondered if she really should have allowed Krig to follow her. Should she really have claimed Krig's maidenhood. Would she ever be able to not feel regret for that? Wouldn't the foxgirl have been happier with someone who wasn't cursed? With someone who could provide her a life of safety and comfort?

The object of her thoughts in question called out a warning, violently tearing Tamonten from them. The swordswoman's hand raced for the handle of her greatsword, but the familiar wall appeared around the duo and something smacked into it, defeated, before her weapon was even drawn. At that sight, the manacled girl let her arm drop and said, with a distinct lack of fear; "Thanks, Krig." To the possessed girl, the attack was almost a relief, another reminder that it was all a test, that if she couldn't overcome these assailants, she would have no chance in her audience with the Lady. And tests that could be solved with steel were the ones she was the best at, hands down.

Her tactical mind kicked in, as Krig questioned their options and figures flitted in the shadows around them. There would be no extended waiting, that seemed most likely to draw more demons to the clash, and every second that Krig maintained the wall seemed a drain on her. Still, she remembered the price that brashness had cost her in her match with the knight, there was something to be said for patience. A few seconds of analysis seemed wise. "Remember the treant incident?" The swordswoman whispered to her kitsune partner. "I think this will probably go something like that. I think I'll need some help if they swarm me this time. First, though, let's see if there's a pattern in their movements and if they've got the bravery to charge us." Tamonten didn't draw her weapon yet, believing that it would be easier to keep the unseen things off of Krig with her bare hands than it would be with the sword, if it came to that. She simply observed their surroundings, for a few moments.

"Got anything that might set this whole road on fire?" She asked a few moments later. "Barring us, of course."

Tamonten... waits and sees what she can see!

I was going to say "if Krig has any AoEs" ask her to use one of them to reveal dem shadowy bastards, but since I have just discovered in PM that she does have holy fire, Tamonten is going to direct her to use it on one of them moving shadows, or any that they spot via perception check, while maintaining Holy Wall.

For convenience: after the first round of perception check and potential holy fire attack, Tamonten is going to request that Krig let her through the holy wall in order to Charge + Death From the Draw + Whirlwind + Defensive Fighting (20:20) anything she can see/that has been spotted/that has been set on fire (and whirlwind for things she might not be able to see). She will also request that Krig maintain the wall and set everything that might swarm her on fire after they reveal themselves.

Attack: 68 = 88 - 20 [Defensive Fighting] + 6 [Death from the Draw] + 4 [Charge] - 10 [Whirlwind]
Damage: 2d12 + 54 = 54 - 10 [Whirlwind] + 10 [Death from the Draw and Cleave]

Stats (w/ Defensive Fighting, Charge, and Whirlwind modifiers): 50 dodge, 31 Resistance, 3 Armor, 25 Perception.

Cheat Sheet

When dealing HP damage: She takes d4+9 pleasure damage, half of which is gained as EP. "You're welcome!" Krig replied cheerily, showing no further signs of stress despite being surrounded by attackers that they couldn't even see. Low hissing noises continued to bombard them from all sides, but every time Tamonten thought that she saw a blur of motion it vanished. Their attackers didn't make any attempt at breaching Krig's barrier, but neither did they depart and leave the two of them in peace. They had a moment to plan at least, and the barrier didn't seem to be causing too much of a drain upon her lover just yet. They couldn't detect any sort of pattern among the movements of the creatures around them, the blurs appearing randomly while the hisses came in from seemingly random directions.

"I remember them, yes. I'm sure I can manage that," Krig replied, her eyes darting about and apparently having no better luck than Tamonten. When asked about fire, however, the fox girl smiled and said; "Oh, I can definitely manage that! You won't even feel a thing!" Tamonten's gaze settled upon a single blur, and she managed to keep it within her gaze until an outline appeared. She couldn't hold sight of it for long, but it gave her a brief window in which she'd be able to attack one of the things hounding her. When she asked Krig to allow her to pass through the barrier, she immediately replied; "Already done, I didn't want you to get burned on it in case you stumbled into it. I'm ready whenever you are!"

Not needing much more than that, Tamonten hurled through the barrier with her hands on her sword, passing through the wall of white light as easily as empty air. The blur stopped moving and vanished as she came charging out of her lover's protective bubble, but it was far too late to hide now. Her blade came free in a single clean motion as she spun in place, and in the place of the blur that the possessed swordswoman had targeted a nude man with grey skin appeared, his mouth agape and displaying a mouth filled with razor sharp teeth. The demon held a shocked expression on its face, only a slight hint of pain present, and that expression remained as it fell to the ground in two separate pieces, bloody red innards spilling out at Tamonten's feet. A second thump from her left signaled that another had been standing within reach of her blade, and that it had suffered the same fate as the first.

Tamonten couldn't see or hear anything approaching her in the few heartbeats that followed, a brief moment of utterly dead stillness and silence following the violent deaths of two of their demonic attackers. Then Krig casually chucked a fireball directly at Tamonten's face.

An orb of white streaked directly at Tamonten, moving so fast that she couldn't hope to avoid it and passing right through Krig's barrier. It exploded just before it would have touched her, a wave of warmth suddenly passing over Tamonten as it enveloped her and everything else within ten or so feet of her in its embrace. Rather than feeling pain, however, Tamonten found the sensation of the white flame's embrace to be fairly pleasant, relaxing even. Though the same roaring explosion followed it, when the flames cleared there was no smoke to be found, nor did Tamonten have so much as a single burn upon either her body or her clothes. The two stalker's she'd bisected were also unharmed, but two badly charred corpses flopped to the ground within the radius of the explosion, their skin pealing away and revealing the flesh beneath.

Another period of dead silence followed in which nothing moved or made even a sound. Tamonten couldn't detect any more of them, and the hissing had stopped completely as well, but Krig hadn't yet let down her barrier. The fox girl was searching about warily, no doubt suspecting that more of the monsters that had tried to attack them were nearby. There was no way to tell whether they'd gotten all of them yet save for looking, but Tamonten wasn't attacked after the burst of white fire and nothing tried to get past Krig's barrier. "Do you think we got all of them?" Krig asked quietly, her voice low and tense.

Re: Finding Paradise (Hafnium)

The swordswoman stood silently in the aftermath, weapon held defensively in preparation for any other attackers. She could feel the adrenaline coursing through her body. The sensation of the steel gripped in her hands slicing through her opponents effortlessly was fresh in her mind. The glorious call of battle and the joy that accompanied it was dampened by the distaste of having needed to violently defend herself so soon. Even if the creatures were demons, kin of the malady that sought her doom, she hadn't really wanted to kill them. But she couldn't dwell on the dead, the day would be difficult enough without that. Tamonten promptly dismissed the thoughts from her head.

"Tell me the truth, Krig..." She began, wryly. "Did I look really cool emerging from the fire unfazed?" A faint smile accompanied her words. She didn't really find any of what had happened that humorous, but a little joke helped to take the edge off of the situation. She didn't wait for a response, however, before continuing. "I doubt that we've dealt with them all, unless they severely underestimated us," Tamonten spoke much lower as she became serious. "Even if we have, there's surely more nearby who'd like a shot at us. Hold your barrier for another few seconds, I'm going to try something crazy."

"Gray ones," she announced, attempting to address any of the demons that might have still been present. "I have come with peaceful intent, I do not care to continue this if you've lost your taste for it. Surrender, show yourselves and I will seek to not only spare your lives but also to allow you to leave this place with the corpses of your comrades." The idea of treating with demons certainly seemed at least slightly insane to Tamonten, at least, especially given Jasmine's warnings. But to treat the demonkin as they had treated her, to stoop to their level and be no better than them would be to lose an important part of herself, to fall ever closer to that creeping death. She would show them honor in at least offering them a chance to reform and embrace the peaceful visions of their Lady of Acheron, if nothing else.

Tamonten uses full defense and keeps an eye out for dem stalkers
... and does a whole lot of talking as a free action. >.>

If she gets no response from the stalkers and neither Krig nor she spots them, Tamonten will sheathe her greatsword and continue on the road with Krig.

(Also, dat damage fetish and sadist were missed, not sure if it was on purpose or not. >.>)

Tamonten: HP = 81, PP = 57, EP = 62, Status = Fine

NPC Stats:
Krig: HP = 46, PP = 47, EP = 105/121, Status = Fine

(Tamonten and Krig each gain 4 experience!)

Krig's lips turned up in a wry smile at Tamonten's question, but she couldn't get in a word before the possessed swordswoman continued on and instructed her to keep her barrier up. Krig silently did as instructed, remaining behind her wall of protective white light and sweeping her gaze over their surroundings.

Following Tamonten's words, there was nothing but dead silence in the empty street around the two of them. The silence stretched for a while, until it became fairly clear that nothing was going to come forth and attack them. No attack and no response came, and finally Krig lowered her barrier and said; "I think we're clear.... What do you think Tamonten?"

The fox girl looked over the quartet of dead stalkers with a fairly mercenary glance and said; "These demons are fairly common according to those at the sanctuary. I doubt that they'll be missed even by their immediate kin. Their skins are valuable and useful though, so long as they aren't too badly damaged." She glanced sheepishly at the two charred ones as she finished.

Re: Finding Paradise (Hafnium)

"Hopefully," she replied. "But even if we're not, we can't dally here for too long or there will be more." The swordswoman wiped her blade on her own pant-leg before returning it to its leather wrappings, she inwardly apologized to whoever kept getting the duty of cleaning her clothes. She briefly considered the foxgirl's appraisal of the stalkers and then knelt low, withdrawing her hunting knife and remorselessly skinning the two she had slain. "Taking their skins, demon or not, doesn't really thrill me as a prospect," she announced as she relieved the first of its skin. "But we don't have the time to bury them and to ask you to expend enough power to cremate them would be folly." By that point, every inch of her skin from her elbows to her fingertips were covered in stalker blood. "I suppose it's easiest to look at this from a hunter's point of view; better to use as much as possible and not waste anything by leaving it to rot."

She deposited the two, total, skins in her satchel without much thought and then went for the decapitated stalkers' mouths. She cut into the demons' gums and extracted one pointy tooth apiece from each of them. Then, she fell upon the charred ones, prying open their mouths quickly with her blackened arm in the event that they were still hot, uncertain of whether or not the residual heat of Krig's magical fire would harm her. Tamonten repeated the process she had performed on the other two, cutting away two more teeth. With her grisly work done, the bloodied woman wiped her dagger on her pants-leg, opposite of the one she had cleaned her greatsword on, and sheathed it; though she didn't bother to clean the crimson from her arms. She deposited all four teeth into her satchel for later.

"Let's keep moving, Krig. More might come for us after all the commotion." She suggested, looking back at the kitsune. If the spirit wielder had no objections, it was off down the main road again for the two.

Collect 2 skins and 4 teeth. Tamonten's reign as tooth fairy begins today!

Then, set off down the main road some more, assuming Krig doesn't have anything to say.

(Tamonten gains 2 chameleon skins and 4 stalker teeth.)

"You're probably right," Krig said, but even so she made no move to help Tamonten in her gruesome collection. Instead, the fox girl kept watch while she collected her array of trophies, the stalkers proving to have no shortage of sharp teeth to choose from as she dug her knife into their gums. "You're probably right about that too! It's not like they need any of that anymore anyway." Krig's magical fire proved to have left no trace of residual heat on the dead demons, their bodies not even any warmer than she thought they should have been given their recent deaths.

When Tamonten rose and suggested that they depart, Krig's eyes lingered on her blood covered arms for a moment before she nodded and said; "Yeah, lets skedaddle." They departed from the site of the brief skirmish and started back down the main road, the devastation present around them seemingly unchanged. Indeed, the scene of carnage they'd left behind didn't seem particularly out of place in this place, in which death seemed to be a common occurrence.

They proceeded into the depths of the ruined town, seeing nothing but snatches of movement for a long while, until suddenly they heard voices up ahead. They were too far off to be understood, but they were also slowly coming closer even as Tamonten and Krig stopped to listen. Even so, they still seemed to be a long ways off from where the two of them stopped. There only seemed to be one speaker with occasional grunts or growls occasionally coming in response to what they said, and the voice sounded more or less masculine as far as either of them could tell. "What should we do, Tamonten? They're right near the main road, if we're out here when whoever that is comes by, we'll be seen for sure!" Krig said under her breath. The buildings on either side of them were intact, the one on the right even possessing an intact door even if a large and completely shattered window rendered that fairly moot. The one on their right was once a bakery, while the left seemed to have been a boarding house judging by its lack of any sign and multiple rows of windows.

Re: Finding Paradise (Hafnium)

"I guess we hope that I was wrong about the quality of the bakeries around here," she whispered in return, a small smile despite herself, before nodding toward the building on the right. Without another word, she moved to Krig's side and ushered her toward the bakery. She considered, incredibly briefly, whether to get Krig in first, so that the spirit wielder would be in the building, and hopefully safe, even if the swordswoman was spotted, or to bring Krig in last, in the event that the building had more of Artmirst's surprises awaiting inside. Very little time had passed before the pale-skinned girl was giving the kitsune a small boost through the, admittedly low, window, deeming that the door might be too noisy or difficult. Her pale hand pressed against the spirit wielder's rear in the process, accidentally at first, though the brief squeeze that followed wasn't.

Tamonten looked away, both sheepishly and to see if the incoming group was visible yet. But, unless she had been spotted, once Kringlicsly was through, she followed into the building swiftly and intended on ducking out of line of sight from the window. "Keep an eye out for anything that might be in here with us as much as for them. This probably isn't the over-sized chocolate cake factory, it doesn't seem big enough," she hastily whispered.

Tamonten gets Krig into yon bakery.

If she's spotted, but Krig makes it inside, she'll tell Krig to lay low until she can see what they're dealing with instead of the chocolate cake quip.

If she's not spotted, as far as she can tell, she follows into the building.
