Rather than pushing things further, however, he said; "So, Pale, what does a priestess such as yourself come to such a place as this for, hrm? Surely it wasn't merely for the drink!" There was an air of suggestion to his town, and he kept an arm wrapped around her lower back as he spoke, but he made no further aggressive moves, instead waiting for her reply.

Carlos was, apparently, not one to miss a hint like that, as he smirked and quietly said; "I can think of a few ways to help you relax." He slowly leaned in toward Pale, and if she didn't stop him (which seemed unlikely at this point) he pressed his lips gently against hers. The kiss started off gently at first, and Carlos continued ramping it up slowly and smoothly until his tongue was exploring Pale's mouth. He had one arm wrapped around her lower back while the other hand rested on her lower thigh, and sitting side by side as they were he couldn't deepen their embrace too much. Even so, he didn't yet make any attempt to switch positions, instead apparently waiting to see how Pale would react.

Doing so himself while still maintaining a watch upon her as the robes she'd borrowed slid off of her body. "My... aren't you a treasure?" Rising to his feet as well, Carlos came over and kissed Pale again, this time more aggressively as his hands also started roaming over her uncovered body.

That was all. Pale leaves no signature, instead putting the paper where he'd surely see it. A quick look finds her shoes and robe on the floor, and Pale puts her clothes on quietly before leaving the room, making sure to close the door before gliding towards the common room, taking a look around.

Carlos didn't so much as stir as Pale left her note, redressed, and left the room. Returning to the common room, she found it somewhat fuller than she had before, though people had mostly converged into groups.

As before, Pale was offered both quality wine and cheap wine, the selection having not changed since she was last down here. Many of the stools at the bar were taken, and Pale had to squeeze between two groups in order to find herself a seat. The group on her left seemed to be comprised entirely of young women, and their conversation seemed to largely center around their work for their respective nobleman masters. They were getting increasingly rambunctious, accidentally jostling Pale several times. The more they drank, the more physical the quartet of girls got, and after the fourth drink the lewd gropes going around were in danger of spilling over to Pale herself.

The trio of men on her right, meanwhile, included an off duty guard captain, a spice merchant from across the sea, and a stablehand for House Isidor. They seemed to be discussing some sort of business deal that the trader had made, laughing boisterously numerous times. Their conversation was harder to follow as they were on the more crowded side of the bar, but she could still attempt to hear parts of what they were saying.

With the rowdy group to her left, Pale could only catch snippets of their conversation. What she did hear, however....

"...so I said, "Hey, you! Get out of that dung pile!" the stablehand said, and was replied to with an uproar of laughter.

"Bet that got him out of there quick, didn't it?" the guardsman replied, but the stablehand smiled broadly and replied, "He weren't the only one in there! His cousin came running out after him, her dress all mussed up! Damn fools musta mistook it for a hay stack and thought they'd have a bit o' fun, aye?" Another uproar of boisterous laughter followed.

"Reminds me of the time I caught a pair of sailors at it in the cargo hold when they thought they could get away with it! Most awkward moment of my life, comin in on them humping each other like rabbits, and me their commanding officer and all," the trader said ruefully. The guardsman, snickering, replied, "Betcha that was an awful sight, two men all sweaty goin at it!" The trader then deadpanned back just as he finished his drink, "Not at all, they were both women."

The other two men roared with laughter, and what they said next was drowned out by the group next to her erupting in a fit of giggles, one of their number glaring at a girl behind her and adjusting her bra. When she got back to the conversation on her right....

"...only in town for a few days, sadly. This Hodrim business has turned sour far too quickly for my liking, makes me think he's going to approach me later with a reduced offer, and expect me to take it just because I'm desperate! It'll show him though, silver this nice sells pretty quick even when it's coming from foreighners, and I've already got another buyer! Not as high a price mind you, but it's still a nice little profit."

"Why'd ol' Lord Hodrim stiff you, ya think? My boss speaks pretty highly of the Hodrims," the stablehand replied as he eyed the trader, who shrugged in response. "Where's all that silver going now? Two tons of pure ingots can't be easy to ship. You gonna need some protection for it? Therion guard's pretty cheap to hire for merchants, and I can get you some decent guys." The merchant frowned slightly and said, "I hadn't thought about it yet, to be truthful. I suppose I'll have to take you up on that, I'm having it moved later tonight. The client, House Avacyn, asked for it to be delivered as quickly as possible."

Slipping the dagger into her sleeve, Pale turns to look more closely at the merchant and his companions. "Why settle for decent when you can have better?" Making sure the merchants attention is turned on her, the vampire slips the dagger to her hand and throws it, missing his ear by fractions of an inch. Not balanced for throwing, the dagger spins in the air a couple times, but nevertheless hits the wall blade first, miraculously sticking to the wood. "I might be available, for the right price."

The merchant and his companion's glance in Pale's direction at her sudden intrusion into their conversation, and the merchant and stable-hand both flinch away as the dagger soars through the air and sticks into the wall, though the guard captain remained steadfast and narrowed his eyes. The dagger stuck into the far wall, also narrowly missing a fat drunken man with a heavy beard who turned and gazed at Pale with wide eyes. It was he who spoke first; "What's the meaning of this? You think you can go throwing knives about under a guardsman's nose?"

The stablehand was cowering slightly while the merchant had recovered and glared sternly toward Pale. "Was that display truly necessary? You could have killed someone! Honestly, who does that? If you wanted a security job you could have just asked! I don't pay more than twenty a night for the best of guards. Plus whatever you can scavenge off of any would-be thieves of course. Does that interest you, miss?"

Pale raises an eyebrow at the merchant. "Would you normally hire someone who looks like I do as a guard? 20 denarii will do fine."

Giving the merchant a smile, the vampire moves to fetch the dagger before returning to her seat, not paying attention to the fat man.
