Anthriel: HP = 71, PP = 71, EP = 148, Status = Fine

Dori glanced at her as Anthriel buried her head into his shoulder and hugged him tightly, but he just smiled and held her right back, saying nothing. Even though she was hiding her tears, the dragon either sensed or agreed with her desire for the moment between them to last, because he made no effort to change the situation, simply staring up into the star-lit sky as he held her and she nuzzled into his side, and if anything he held her more tightly so as to keep her nearer. As she breathed him in, she could just barely smell brimstone beneath the leather armor he wore and the light scent of sweat that pervaded his body.

Re: One in Three Thousand (Courage Wolf)

Anthriel breaths it all in and holds it close, committing it to memory as she held Dori in her arms for what could have been hours, she didn't know or care. Rolling away and standing up, the angel stretches and yawns before hopping down off of the roof and heading inside the house. Taking a seat, Anthriel waits for the sun to rise proper and the other residents of the house that had been so kind to her to wake up from whatever dreams taunted mortals in the mist these days...

After a while of lying beside him, Anthriel heard and felt Dori's breathing slow, and a glance up at his face showed that his eyes were closed, and that he had a contented smile on his face as he slept. It was about then that she decided to rise and head back into the house, taking a seat at the kitchen table and waiting for the sun to rise. Before it did, however, Anthriel heard someone stirring in one of the adjoining rooms, and a few moments later a door opened and the burly woman she recalled meeting the previous night stepped out into the hall. She paused as she spotted Anthriel, but only for a second as she silently walked into the kitchen and set about performing an array of chores with relentless speed and efficiency. Inside of twenty minutes she had stoked a fire to life in the hearth and placed a kettle filled with water over it, placed out five plates and accompanying silverware, and had taken out an assortment of foods from the cupboard that she no doubt intended to cook for breakfast.

"How are you feeling, hun?" The woman suddenly asked, still busy preparing food and as such looking away from Anthriel when she spoke. She was obviously slightly on edge, but Anthriel knew instinctively that it was more because she wasn't quite sure how she ought to address the angel than out of fear or anger.

Re: One in Three Thousand (Courage Wolf)

Anthriel conjured up the warmest smile she could for the woman "I'm alright, still figuring things out, but alright. Thank you" Hoping that would set her at ease Anthriel sat there quietly and enjoyed the peace, getting lost in the movement of the flames that warmed the room.

The woman nodded, and said nothing further for a moment, allowing her to enjoy her peace. Finally, however, she said something that sounded like it had been eating at her for a while; "Would you like something to wear?"

Re: One in Three Thousand (Courage Wolf)

Anthriel actually widened her eyes at the comment, not really realizing until now how uncomfortable her nudity seemed to make everyone. "Clothing makes me really twitchy, I can't stand it...

Wrapping her wings around herself and blushing slightly, she suddenly scowled in annoyance when her tail instinctively wrapped around the leg of her chair, she hadn't really gotten the hang of the infernal thing yet and it was driving her up a wall.

"I couldn't help but notice that you folks live apart from the rest of the town. Why is that?"

The woman's frown touched her ears, which was the only way that she could see the expression considering that the human still had her back turned. Even so, she didn't complain further about the angel's nudity, but Anthriel watched as her host stiffened following her question. Somewhat more gruffly than she had heard from the woman before, she replied; "We do live apart from the rest of the town, yes. That's because I am unmarried and have children, which my neighbors frown upon in this land."

She sighed, letting out whatever tension had just built up in her, and continued in a more level tone; "Would you like some tea, dear? Or do you prefer coffee?"

"Coffee, Please. And if it really does bother you I can put something on, just don't expect me to like it all that much..." Anthriel wasn't used to humans and had hoped that it wouldn't have been that much of a problem, but it seemed her host was more then a little flustered. "Just nothing too constricting..."

"Coffee it is then. There's a robe in the closet that should fit, I'm just... Not really sure I want a naked woman hanging around my son too much. I'd never even suspect you of doing anything to tempt him of course, but he is still a young man! Even if he is a dragon, a mother has to watch out for her son's well being." She said, quickly pouring Anthriel a cup of coffee and gesturing toward a door in the hall. Opening the door revealed a small closet filled with clothing, including a simple white robe that, for some reason, had no back for the torso portion, instead including a clasp for a cloth ring that ran around the wearer's throat. "I wouldn't presume to tell you what to do, but I would appreciate it if you wore clothing for as long as you decided to stay here."

Re: One in Three Thousand (Courage Wolf)

Anthriel gave a soft laugh before looking at the woman again. "Do you really think I qualify as attractive or tempting looking like this." She said quietly, gesturing at her face, the chains on her arms chinking softly. "If anything I look like I crawled out of a nightmare, still, I'll respect your wishes as long as I'm here." Putting on the robe and immediately regretting the decision, Anthriel sat back down and fidgeted a little, the clothing distinctly uncomfortable regardless of fabric or weave. It had ALWAYS been uncomfortable and always would be, still, the Angel figured she owed it to the old woman for giving her a place to stay while she figured things out. As much as she was sure Dori didn't really mind her appearance, she was also quite certain that what she had said regarding her visage was true, and that as long as she was malformed as she was, she would never pass for attractive or beautiful, only terrifying and confusing.

"Heh, angels must not have teenage years then, else you'd know that it hardly matters how odd you look to a young man. 'Sides, even with the chains and the mask, you're not that bad on the eyes." The old woman remarked with a smirk, but then sighed and turned back to her chores.

A short while later, the sound smell of cooking food caused someone in one of the other rooms to stir, and a moment later the girl that had untied her bonds in the demon's tower stepped out into the hall wearing little more than a night shift and rubbing sleep from her eyes. As she passed Anthriel, she glanced at the angel and frowned slightly before walking around her and taking a seat next to her. "Morning. Anyone seen Dori yet?" She said as she grabbed a cup and filled it with coffee. "Not yet," the older woman replied, not looking up from her work, "I don't doubt he went off in the middle of the night to cause trouble again! That boy...."

"If you're going to keep frowning at me, I'd like a reason. As for Dori, I can probably go find him without spilling my coffee." Anthriel stood up, agitated at the sideways looks and sipped on her drink carefully, the mask making it difficult.

"What? Oh, I'm sorry.... It's just that I usually sit there," the girl said apologetically, and she dropped the frown for a look belying that same emotion. "It's just kind of a tradition, it's not really important. I should be nicer, you are a guest here after all!" The older woman, meanwhile, glanced critically at Anthriel for a moment before cautiously asking; "He's on the roof, isn't he?"

"Yup, as for your seat, apologies, I didn't know." Anthriel moved outside quickly and shouted up to the roof, "Dori! Breakfast!" before heading back inside and picking a spot by the wall rather then sitting.

"Oh, no, don't worry about it! It's not important, you don't have to-" Anthriel rose from her seat about then, and the girl weakly finished; "Move." When she called up to Dori, she heard a loud jump and then a long yawn, followed shortly afterwards by a mumbled; "'Kay!"

When she stepped back in, the old woman was still busy finishing breakfast and the young girl was sitting slouched in the same chair she'd taken earlier, a glum look upon her face. She frowned harder, if that were possible, but said nothing as Anthriel leaned against the wall. Dori walked into the house a few moments later, looking tastefully disheveled, which drew a suspicious glance from Mom and a welcoming smile from the girl sitting at the table. He paused and glanced at Anthriel questioningly as he walked in, and after a moment said; "You've got clothes on. Huh. Looks.... Weird. Anyway, why are you standing? C'mon, it's breakfast time!" He gently grabbed her arm, not forcing her if she tried to resist emphatically, and if she didn't she was led to the table and seated in the exact same seat as before, between Dori and the girl.

"Anthriel, this is my older sister, Kip! You've sort of met her before, she's the one who my mother sent in to untie you. You met Mom last night, though I'm not sure if you remember her at all given how tired you seemed." The older woman carried over a set of plates, leaving one on the table for Anthriel if she had chosen to stand by the door despite Dori's attempt to pull her over, and the young girl smiled slightly and waved. "My actual name is Karie. Dopy here just likes to call me Kip, for some reason!"

Dori simply laughed at her insult, and as he started pouring syrup over his pancakes he said; "Yeah? Then why do you let your friends call you Kip too?" She frowned as if she were angry, but the expression broke into a grin a moment later and she replied with only a shrug. The older woman who had done the cooking sat down at the table as well and began her own meal, for now saying nothing. "I take it you two talked a bit while everyone else was in bed then eh?" Dori offered, munching on a mouthful of pancake, and Mom, who had yet to receive any other name or title, simply glared at him and said; "Don't talk with your mouthful!"

Re: One in Three Thousand (Courage Wolf)

Anthriel smiled at the sight of Dori as he moved into the house right up until he mentioned her clothing, which promptly earned him a flick in the forehead "It feels weird, I'm being polite"

Being led to the table put another smile back on her face though and she was finally introduced to the young women who had helped rescue her in the first place. "Its nice to meet you Karie, thanks for the help. Wait, so... Dori is a Dragon, Mom is not a Dragon, Are you a Dragon?" Anthriel was just getting flat out confused by the situation, but if she had to guess, Karie here wasn't related to Dori by blood and liked him quite a bit. Finally figuring this out properly Anthriel focused on her breakfast and did her best to join in the small talk.

At Dori's question regarding her and Mom talking, Anthriel broke into a fit of giggles when she scolded him for talking with his mouth full. It had less to do with the act, more to do with the fact that a Dragon was being scolded at all in the first place, and the absurdity of it all was just too much. Finally calming down and looking around her, she realized just how wonderful this place was compared to where she had been, and the warmth it brought to her heart was enough to dispel whatever inner turmoil was left from her capture...

"You're quite welcome, Anthriel! I'm sure you'd have done the same for me. You are an angel after all!" Karie replied, smiling pleasantly to Anthriel despite her initially frosty greeting this morning. "No, I'm not a dragon either." As Anthriel went into a fit of giggles, Karie and Dori both smirked broadly at her while Mom simply frowned slightly, as if not knowing what might be so funny. "See! Someone thinks I'm funny!" Dori said, his mouth still full of pancakes.

The scowl that the dragon's presumably adoptive mother adopted was positively frightening, and Karie started giggling as well as Dori just smirked at her, a chunk of pancake half hanging out of his mouth. Nonetheless, things quieted down significantly after that, with only a few brief moments of small talk as they largely went about eating their meals. The food was excellent, and even though she didn't actually need to eat due to her angelic half, Anthriel still felt an innate desire to have more.

Some time later, Dori rose from his seat and stretched, his back cracking audibly. Karie and Mom had both already finished, and the latter had risen from the table to start the dishes. "Welp. I'm stuffed. Great meal mom, thanks!" He turned to Anthriel and Karie and continued; "I've got to go and check on the villagers. Either of you care to come with?" Karie shook her head and replied; "Nah, I've got a lot of work to do today. Maybe I'll catch up later."

Re: One in Three Thousand (Courage Wolf)

Anthriel soaked in the moment during breakfast, enjoying the company immensely. When Dori finally finished eating and asked if anyone would accompany him to check on the villagers, Anthriel seized the opportunity, if for no other reason then to get out of the infernal clothing. Slipping carefully from the robe and stretching languidly she sighed happily and nodded.

"Ill come Dori, Lets go."

Anthriel: HP = 71, PP = 71, EP = 148, Status = Fine

Karie looked confused, alarmed, and distressed all at once as Anthriel casually slipped out of her robe, and Mom placed a hand over her face as if she had a headache. Dori seemed to enjoy the other women's reactions to Anthriel's casual disrobing almost as much as he did her nudity, if the broad smirk on his face was any indication. He blatantly ogled her while she stretched, and as such didn't see it coming when Karie chucked a syrup smother pancake at his face, which impacted with a wet splat and caused the dragon in human form to flinch away and let out a startled shout. Karie fell into a fit of giggles, while Mom smirked secretly behind her hand for a moment before saying; "You'll be cleaning the kitchen floor before you go out today Karie."

That brought a scowl from the girl and a triumphant grin to Dori, who had retrieved the pancake and casually started eating it. His mouth once more full, Dori spun on his heel and headed out the door, saying; "C'mon Anthriel! Lets go and poke some villagers until they tell us to stop!" The dragon led the way out the door, expecting her to follow, but he remained in human form as he continued to munch upon the remains of the ruined pancake. He didn't seem to be heading directly toward the village either.

Re: One in Three Thousand (Courage Wolf)

Watching everything with a smile, and not minding the ogling in the slightest, she flashed Dori a wink and followed after him. "So... Where are we actually going..." she asked quietly, wondering what Dori actually had in mind as she enjoyed the feel of the sun and the air on her once again exposed body, her wings stretching out to warm as she walked next to him.
