It is perhaps an hour into Natalie's watch, when she hears a soft, mellow voice singing a pretty tune in some strange language. The source of the voice is away from the river, perhaps a stone's throw away, hidden behind some bushes.

"Well, that doesn't sound like a trap at all," Natalie muttered, before going to quickly wake up one of the others. "There's something out there, I'm going to go find out what.... I'll be back as soon as I can," she explained in a whisper before going off with her symbiote forming a suit around her, seeking the source of the singing.

Mat mutters something before sitting up and starting to pull clothes on.

As Natalie gets closer, she can hear the sweet baritone luring her in. It sounds like the singer is in a pit. Despite the cold, Natalie starts feeling quite drowsy as she parts the bushes and sees an enormous snake, apparently curled up for warmth. "Sssso, little girl. What doesss it want? What doesss it need?" the snake asks, revealing a disturbingly human-like head as it turns to look at her and she feels something brush against her leg.

"Uhhh.... Well, probably not a giant snake lady," Natalie replied sheepishly, "uhhh, no offense!" She backed up a step only to feel something brush over her leg, and scowled slightly. "Uhhmmm... Though, I am curious... Are you poisonous?" Her symbiote crept over her form, covering everything but her hands and her head, enhancing her strength and speed and hopefully protecting her should this... Thing prove hostile. At the same time, she tried to shake off her drowsiness, unsure if it was from simple fatigue or something more insidious.

The head of the snake slowly sways from side to side hypnotically as the tip of its tail trails up Natalie's leg as the symbiote covers it. "The only poisson I have is my voice, little girl. Do you like my ssssinging?" she smirks at Natalie knowingly as her coiled up body shifts slightly.

"Well... Maybe you ought to phrase that a bit differently if you want compliments on your voice," Natalie replied carefully, slowly taking a half step back as she felt the serpentine tail brush against her leg. Her eyes watched the swaying back and forth, glanced at the portion of it that had touched her, and then back to its main body and face. "Still... I suppose I've certainly heard worse. Why are you singing so late at night though? Are you trying to help someone find you?"

The tip of the naga's tail slips between Natalie's legs as she steps back, rubbing against the symbiote. "Do I really unnerve you that much?" Her expression shifts from smirk to a nervous smile and Natalie realizes that the snake doesn't really look much older than herself. "I'm ssinging to myself, ssince I have no-one elsse to sssing to."

"Unnerve? Not really," Natalie answered, her voice still calm. "I just know better than to get too close to a snake that I don't know." Her eyes flitted down to the tail rubbing along her inner leg, now shielded from direct contact by her symbiote, then back up at the serpent. "Why don't you have anyone to sing to? Do you not have any friends?"

"Because I'm far from home. What'ss your name, little girl?" the snake hisses quietly, still moving her head from side to side rhythmically. The tail slips away as Natalie looks at it, moving behind her.

"Natalie," she supplied simply, turning to look at the swaying snake's head. "What's your name?"

"My name iss Sharass." the snake says, starting to coil around Natalie's legs.

"Sharass.... Right," Natalie said, before glancing down at the snake coils trying to surround her legs and hastily making to step out of them. "Woah there.... Enough of that."

"But you musst be cold" Sharass hisses hypnotically, her head swinging back and forth... back and forth... Indeed, Natalie realizes that the cold, pre-dawn wind is making her shiver.

"And something with cold blood is supposed to warm me up?" Natalie replied sardonically, though for some reason she couldn't quite look away from the swaying snake woman. She shivered subconsciously, why was it so cold? The symbiote spread slowly, becoming a full body suit beneath her dress.

"You'd be sssurprisssd. I'm warmer than you think" Sharass hisses pleasantly, her head continuing to sway back and forth as her coils open, ready to try wrapping around Natalie again. "And the missst iss getting your clothing all moissst."

Sharass hisses some strange words that feel like bugs crawling on her skin, and instinctively Natalie leaps away as the ground below her turns into bubbling mud. Seeing how easily Natalie avoids the spell, Sharass hesitates for a moment before getting ready to cast something else.

"That.... Was not very friendly," Natalie berated, coming up to her feet from a quick roll. She had escaped the bubbling mud, but now the fight she had expected was on, and her symbiote flowed over her skin, covering her hands and feet entirely as she shifted into a readied stance. Her left arm cocked back, magic gathering between her fingers. Electricity crackled and then shot out as she thrust that hand forward, sending bolts lashing out at the snake woman in an effort to stun her without hurting her too bad.

(Space marines attack!)

As Natalie sends bolts of lightning at Sharass, the naga hisses angrily casting another spell. The fog around the pair grows thicker, making it hard to see the ground, let alone anything more.

Natalie herself hissed as the magical fog rolled in obscuring everything around her. She could barely see her hand in front of her face now, let alone where the snake might be. She almost said something to taunt the magical serpent before she thought better of it, better to remain as quiet as possible so as to not give away her position. Carefully pacing off to the left, feeling with her feet and keeping her ears alert. She waited for the next attack, preparing to dodge and then intercept it, using her symbiote to enhance her speed and strength as she darted first aside and then towards the source of the attack, whatever its form.
