The stars aren't right!(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"Not particularly. I'm sure Ginny can keep me from getting bored. Your computer is in the cabin."

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"Okay!" Helena says brightly before waving at Ginny and heading to the cabin to do exactly what she said she would. She had a lot of information to go over and only a day really to do it. She'd study the information until the journey was complete, only taking small breaks to feed Strike and feed if absolutely necessary.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

In the evening Jasmine comes back to the cabin - without Ginny - and pulls Helena out of her research for rest. In the morning she is gone and both Helena and Strike are getting hungry, so Helena goes back to research after eating, though Strike grumbles about the lack of living food and in the afternoon he starts bothering Helena until she has to command him to stop. Finally the evening comes and the shuttle lands in Lhasa shuttleport, leaving Helena satisfied at the progress she has managed in such a short time as Jasmine comes to cabin with Ginny and hands her her own clothes, which she gladly puts back on.

"I see were here huh? Well Strike is going to go insane if hes trapped inside any longer so We're heading outside. I've got a com open and Jasmine. Well you can reach me any time for any reason. If you need us for anything at all just holler" Helena says excitedly before heading for the shuttleport, wearing thick winter clothing, heavy boots, and a thick blue parka, it was gonna be cold as hell outside, Strike close at her heals.

Ginny nods. "Right. I'll try to find a hotel and then we can start planning our trip."

As Helena steps out into the crispy air, she can see the small shuttle port is surrounded by mountains, with a deep valley just south and a city to the north. The port is quite small, not much larger than the one the asteroid has and there isn't very much activity. The few people around are all Tibetan, and a small bus is coming towards the shuttle. Strike miraculously doesn't seem to mind the cold, but seems intimidated by the open space.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena pulls Strike closer and hugs him for a second, sending comfort over their link as best she can to try and make him feel more at ease. Stepping away she takes a huge lungful for the fresh mountain air and enjoys the scenery, happy to be off the cramped little ship and in the presence of such beautiful mountains. She'd heard that Tibet was Majestic and now she knew it was true, the splendor of the place truly awe-inspiring. Walking around to stretch out a little bit and to get used to real gravity again Helena waits for the bus, wondering exactly what its for.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Strike seems a little more at ease after a while. Shortly after, Ginny and Jasmine arrive, both wearing winter clothing and the crew starts unloading their equipment. Then the bus arrives and the driver gets out. "You need a ride, folks? 200 yuan for you, anywhere in the city!"

"We need to get to a hotel, but we don't have any cash. Do-" Ginny is cut off by Jasmine who gives him a few bills. "Take us to one of the better hotels. And help us load the equipment." The driver hesitates, seeing the dollars, but finally nods.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"When in doubt, Jasmine. Seriously, it should be the official motto for our research." Helena says with a chuckle. Helping everyone load the equipment she tries to get Strike on the bus and fails, instead opting to ride on the roof with him. climbing up and making sure no one can see her well she sprouts several tentacles to anchor both herself and Strike to the roof securely and waits out the ride, She won't abandon her furry companion for anything.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

The driver looks like he's about to say something, but decides against it, muttering something in his own language instead as he starts to drive. The pair on the roof catches a lot of attention and some people even whistle or cheer at Helena. With the roads in poor shape, the trip takes quite a while, but after about 30 minutes the drives pulls over in front of a large hotel in baroque style in baroque style of all things. Ginny comments while getting out of the bus: "Well, that certainly looks out of place." Jasmine heads straight in to talk with the receptionist - a pale girl, obviously of European origin. Soon enough she comes back with some helpers who help carry the equipment to their rooms. The rooms are spacious and seem luxurious after the space station and the shuttle.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena hides her extra appendages and assists with moving the equipment. Squealing in joy at the sight of a soft bed she dives onto the mattress and sprawls out. "GOD this is so COMFORTABLE!" Bouncing back up she looks at Ginny, who she still technically works for and asks "Well, we're in Tibet. I assume you have a reason for bringing us to the coldest place on the planet barring antarctica?"

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Jasmine speaks before Ginny has time to answer. "She's looking for the Mi-Go. Or Yeti, as they're better known in modern times."

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"You're looking for a yeti.... Wha... WHY!?" Helena asks incredulously. staring at Ginny as if shes gone completely mental...

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Ginny looks down for a moment, composing her thoughts. "Because while there are many legends that could be explained by different pre-human civilizations, the Mi-Go hypothesis is the most plausible and a pre-human civilization is the only plausible explanation for the slimes I can come up with."

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena takes a second to digest all of that and mentally compares it to the information she so painstakingly researched. "Well, if thats really what you think then we should probably get started. Any thoughts Sis? she asks Jasmine, wondering if the elder succubi knew anything on the subject.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

The Mi-Go fit Helena's analysis, although there are large gaps that would need to be filled. "I think it's plausible, though I'm certainly no expert. Mi-Go wouldn't have been my first guess, though. That would have been the Deep Ones, but I suppose you're not likely to find evidence of them, whether or not they existed."

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"Deep Ones? Well... Now im just interested. What are/were they, and were might they be found...."

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"The Deep Ones were an ancient race that lived mostly on the bottom of the ocean. They're connected with creating the tentacle monsters, though it's not certain they really existed, as that would have been a very long time ago. It is said that they were destroyed during a some kind of war, possibly against the Mi-Go."

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"well I sincerely doubt we have time to go searching around the bottom of the ocean, Yeti's it is." Looking at Ginny "Well? Shall we?"

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"First, we'll need supplies and guides. Can you two take care of that? I'll need to figure out where our destination is. We'll stay here for tonight and possibly tomorrow as well, so there's no hurry."

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena glances slyly over at Jasmine, "I'm pretty sure we can handle that." Looking over at Strike she gives him a pat and tells him he can go hunting, but to be careful. "Jasmine, I do believe we have items to procure and guides to convince."
