As the group unites with the guides and climbs back to the camp, Jasmine and Ginny start making lunch while the men go get firewood.

"So I guess the next question is how do we get to New York..." Helena said slowly, helping with the chores. "We still have the guides to get back to town and i think it was 5 days? total for the trip just to wind up where we started..."

"Two days to walk to the village and three days to drive to the capital. I don't think there's an airport closer than that."

It takes better part of an hour before the lunch is ready and Helena can feel Strike coming from behind her sneakily.

Helena acts like the goofy spider isn't there, wondering what she's up to but she could probably guess. "Well, if it's gonna take that long to get back to the capital then we should probably get moving..."

The spider glomps Helena from behind, even lifting her up as the others look at the pair. Then Red tackles Strike and the spider lets go of Helena as it starts to wrestle with the slimegirl.

Helena squeals loudly as Strike hugs her and then picks her up, laughing all the while before Red tackles the spider and she finds herself dropped unceremoniously on the ground. Huffing loudly she dives into the fray giggling.

The trio tumbles around for a while before Jasmine comes to separate them. It doesn't take long for the campsite to be cleaned and soon the group is on its way again. As the sky begins to darken, the guides start looking for a campsite, though there doesn't seem to be many promising spots.

Helena laughs again as Mommy Jas pulls the three apart. after breaking camp and moving on Helena is surprised at the unavailability of possible camp sites. They had certainly had some decent ones before but things always looked different on the way back in the dark. Finally Helena started to protest loudly that they should simply find a reasonably flat patch and call it a night, walking non stop for days would do them no good and eventually they would have to settle for Something...

The sky is already dark when they find a suitable spot, a mere widening in the road overlooking the mists that cover a valley so completely that it might not even be there. The dinner is prepared in uneasy silence as there is a feeling of something watching them from the darkness. Before anyone goes to the tents, Aren hands out a watchlist for the night. Ginny is first, then Jasmine, Helena and Red, then the guides with Aren taking the last and longest watch.

Despite being given a specific spot for watch, Helena can't sleep with the odd feeling hanging about and stays up for most of the night, perched in a tree overlooking the camp with Strike. Getting comfy she hoped everything would pass quietly, she was sure she was going to regret what was probably just nerves in the morning...

As the others go to sleep, Ginny paces around nervously, occasionally looking at Helena. After an hour has passed, she goes to wake Jasmine, who hops onto the branch alongside Helena.

Helena looks over at Jasmine. "Something has me spooked, has us all spooked. What do you think it is?"

"I don't know. Whatever it is, it's either mindless or powerful enough to mask its presence." Jasmine answers, looking around. The night seems unusually quiet as an owl passes close by.

"Greeeat. Just fantastic, well no, not sleeping tonight now. Not at all." Fidgeting around again Helena got somewhat intentionally uncomfortable in the tree so as not to fall asleep and kept watch more vigilantly. "Any idea what could be that strong?"

Jasmine's head turns to look at something that moves in the shadows, though Helena can't see anything more. It - whatever it is - seems to be trying to sneak closer to the tents.

*Jasmine, What is it!? Fuck it!* Following Jasmine's gaze Helena pitched a globe of light in its direction. ready to raise a very loud psychic alarm if need be...

As the light reveals the patch of darkness, Helena can see something humanoid for a moment before it's gone again, too quickly to note any details. Jasmine launches onto her wings and silently glides away to where it must have disappeared, the sheer cliff their tents are pitched so close to.

Helena followed Jasmine, still trying to figure out what they had seen. *What was that Jasmine? I mean, I can keep light around the camp all night long, but Ill be exhausted...*

*Drop the light and make yourself see in the dark, then. There's plenty of light here. I...think it was a vampire. It's still somewhere close.* Jasmine hovers near the spot where they spotted the vampire, her head turning as she tries to find them.

Helena facepalms for not thinking of this before and does as instructed, the meager moonlight suddenly illuminating the world around her. *Ya... thats much easier. Wait.. A Vampire!? Crap.* Helena rockets up into the air above the center of the camp, trying to get a decent look at the surrounding area...
