The cafeteria offers much the same options as last time, but this time it's almost full, with no free tables. Perhaps unsurprisingly, most people seem to still sit by themselves, though a few tables have groups gathered around them.

Helena snags a basic meal of a sandwich and some soup before heading over to one of the only free places in the cafeteria and simply listening to any conversations going on. Wondering if the same feelings she was experiencing were normal among the other testers...

The blonder girl Helena sits opposite to gives her a curious look before shifting her focus back to her meal, perhaps sensing that Helena doesn't want to talk. Most conversations seem to concern multiplayer experiences and other EGG-related topics.

Huh, well, so much for recon. Finishing her meal quickly Helena excuses herself and heads home. Sleep sounded pretty damn good right now.

The next weekend Helena arrives for another session. As usual, she is directed to the EGG pod and when she enters, a screen appears:

Helena gets comfy and quickly hits continue, waiting for the onslaught of information and the reimmersion of the simulation with baited breath...

The now-familiar feeling of drifting through emptiness is followed by Helena waking up at the inn shortly after dawn. Memories of Aren's death hit her with full force again, and she feels sick.

Helena rushes to the bathroom and vomits, the feeling of guilt at what had happened overwhelming her before she collapses into tears again, just sitting there on the floor. Why had she done that? how could she have been so foolish, she would never trust like that again, Never in her lifetime would that mistake be allowed to repeat itself...

Soon a knock comes from the door. Red's familiar voice follows: "Are you okay, Helena? Can I come in?"

Helena gives what equates to a mental scream without thinking at Red, her thoughts ripping through the air like a cannon blast *GO AWAY!*

After shocked silence, Helena can hear Red leaving. Jasmine doesn't say anything, but she can sense her presence close, comforting. Strike seems upset and trying to sleep again.

It takes Helena awhile to calm down, getting settled before heading out. She'd have to apologize to Red later, She hadn't meant to do that, but her timing could not have been worse. Looking for something to eat to at least take her mind off of things, she kept her eyes open for Jasmine

The inn's common room seems to be almost deserted, with only a single man leaning on the counter, ready to serve people should someone come. Jasmine would probably be in her room, likely enjoying her breakfast.

Helena just gets a cup of coffee and sits near a window, trying very hard not to think. She'd rather be far away from here. How could she have been so foolish... Never again would someone suffer for her stupidity...

A good while later Ginny comes in, yawning. Getting some coffee herself, she spots Helena and sits down wearing a forced looking smile. "You look horrible."

"Guess I do, How long until we can get moving, the sooner were away the better" Helena forced her voice level, getting a grip on her emotions before she drove another friend away without meaning to...

"Not very long, I hope." Almost as soon as the words come from Ginny's lips, Jasmine comes with Red, who looks a little confused. *You really should have eaten something earlier.* Aloud, Jasmine says to the others, looking the least effected: "The guides are coming soon."

Helena checks the direction they're supposed to be heading before standing quickly and walking outside. Taking a deep breath Helena launches herself into the air, opting to fly rather then have to deal with the company. *Ill stay in touch, but I need the time, Ill eat when I damn well feel like it*

In truth the idea of eating made her ill, was she no different then that monster? going to any lengths to feed, to satisfy the hunger? She was so confused, everything had seemed so clear before, now it was about as twisted and unkind as barbed wire. Moving as fast as she could she rocketed towards their next stop, heedless of any danger as she lost herself in the cool air and the view...

Helena's wings don't seem to want to carry her, but she manages to go on regardless, spotting occasional glimpse of the cars coming from behind. She can see some lone harpies occasionally, but they don't seem to be interested in trying to catch her. The cool air seems to wipe out the sickness she was feeling earlier and her problems seem smaller when seen from the sky amongst the mountains, but she's still hungry. Time passes by quickly and surprisingly soon she realizes that it's nearly midday and she can't see the cars any more.

Helena looks around and tries to home in on Strike from the air, to get a feel for where the rest of the party went. She still wasn't sure if she'd land, but she felt much better for the flight, no longer afraid of being overwhelmed by the conflicting feelings that had assaulted her this morning...
