Aqua relents soon, curling up on the ground with Helena and placing her head on Helena's bust, giggling. The spiders appear to be plotting again, though what, none can tell. The air starts growing cooler as the night quickly approaches, and wolves howl in distance.

Helena snuggles with Aqua, continually glancing over at the spiders and their plotting. They were always plotting, but not once had anyone cracked their devious schemes until it was too late and someone was getting laid in more ways then one. Chuckling to herself, Helena set about just lazing in the night until she heard the wolfs howling set her hair on end and she shuddered, quickly rising and looking at the moon.

The moon is half full and for just a moment its lifeless form seems to form a face, impassionately observing what's happening below. The howling continues - a single wolf, not many - with tones of loneliness and despair. Cindy seems to have frozen in place and Aqua looks worried, only the spiders seem unaffected.

Helena twitches at the sound... her eyes getting a little distant before she suddenly takes off at a sprint, tearing towards the sound of the howling for a reason she couldn't explain... It was so strange, and so sad... Helena focused for a moment on that sadness like a signal fire and moved as fast as her legs and wings could take her, not answering any calls from her friends or stopping for any reason...

Cindy calls out for and rushes after Helena, sounding worried but quickly giving up the chase as Helena takes to the air. The evening air above the treetops is still warm, and the air feels wonderfully clean. The howling seems to come from the east, though it's hard to say how far.

And too the east Helena moves, firing through the air under the moon like a missile towards the howling, a black shadow across the sky as her wings carried her as far as was needed, her mind constantly searching on the feelings of loneliness and despair that howling seemed to convey, her entire world focusing in on this one task, this one, Insane task that she had to see through...

Helena's probing thoughts find a pain-filled mind in the distance. Perhaps ten minutes later she spots her target on the ground. A large wolf is sitting in the shade of a tree, its howling sending chills down Helena's spine.

Helena takes great care to land as softly, slowly, and quietly as possible, reaching out with her mind as she got closer and probing gently. She set down in front of the large creature and immediately slid to her knees, looking at the gigantic canine and tilting her head to the side. *What's wrong?*

As the wolf spots Helena, it stops howling. Instead, a low growl rises from it's throat. Helena can see a nasty, barbed bear trap closed around its hind leg, but as she tries to get closer, it snaps its jaws, trying to bite her.

Helena sighs after pulling her hand back from the snapping teeth before muttering the words to the sleeping spell to put the creature out cold. Once it was asleep, she would set about freeing it's caught leg from the trap and healing the wound, doing her obligatory good deed for the day. While the Wolf was still sleeping, Helena would charm it as she layed it in her lap and stroked its fur, humming softly, knowing the spell wouldn't hold for long and wanting to make sure it was alright before going on her way without being eaten.

The wolf resists Helena's first attempts, but the third time the spell works, knocking the beast out. The jaws of the trap are very stiff, but with a burst of effort Helena manages to pull them open, tearing small chunks of the wolf's flesh with them and ripping the festering wound open.

Helena looks down at the wound sadly, but has to work quickly, not entirely sure how long the spell would hold. Focusing her power, and a little annoyed that it had taken 3 attempts to render the wolf unconscious, Helena set about setting the wound right, forcing it to heal several times faster then normal, as she crouched over the wolf, the injured leg in her hands.

Helena's spell closes the wound thankfully quickly, even going as far as to remove the infection. The wolf is sleeping more peacefully now.

Helena let out a breath as the wound closed and the infection cleaned from the wound, the effort of her little excursion into the night leaving her feeling more then a little tired. Sitting down and sighing, she ran a hand through the wolf's fur, idly rubbing the sleeping creature gently and charming him as well for good measure. She did not want a frightened wolf waking up with her so close in a rage, but she wanted to make sure he was alright before she left.

Sitting there in the shadow of the tree, the wolf's head pulled up into her lap, Helena softly sang to the moon in his place while she waited for him to wake up. If he got up and went on his way, then all was right again and she could return to camp happily.

A couple minutes pass and the wolf wakes up, yawning and sitting up before turning to look at Helena.

The wolf nuzzles Helena's neck with its cold nose and slowly wags its tail.

Helena giggles and gives the wolf a good scratching behind the ears before patting him gently and standing up, turning to walk back towards camp. "Run along then, I'm sure you have others worried about you"

The wolf male stands up as Helena starts moving, starting to jog after her after a while. As it stands up, Helena can see even better how large it is, and it catches up with her easily despite a slight limp that's all that remains of the wound.

Helena grins as the wolf follows her, the lupine actually immense, which was surprising. It was no wonder she had heard him from the distance she had. Reaching down to pat him, Helena kept her hand on his shoulder as they walked back to camp, working at making the charm between them more permanent. She could only have one familiar, but you could never have enough friends, and this was one pet that would have people keeping their damned thoughts to themselves. She wondered what Jasmine was going to say about this one, let alone the others...
