The succubi cross the gap easily with their wings and soon find themselves in front of another door, this one just as plain as the first had been.

Helena stopped herself from checking everywhere for a damned switch this time, and instead pushed on it like the first one, wondering if it gave just as easily, if it didn't only then would she start looking for a hidden catch. So far they'd been lucky, hopefully their luck would hold.

The door falls backwards easier than the first one, revealing a fairly plain chamber with a sarcophagus in the middle and only one shelf filled with canopic jars and talismans to the side.

Helena sighs at the shoddy doors, but if you put this many traps before something what were the odds that someone would really make it this far, really. Slim to none, they had been lucky, nothing more. Still, when they searched the others, this knowledge would make everything easier.

Heading into the chamber, Helena was still careful, not trusting what she saw, not before she had confirmed it was real as she glanced over the sarcophagus and the jars, once again looking for the reagents she was after, glancing nervously at the ceiling and the floor.

Most of the amulets seem rather ordinary silver and copper, but Helena does manage to find a small jade scarab hanging from a gold chain. Meanwhile Jasmine examines the sarcophagus thoroughly before pushing it open, revealing a coffin inside as well as some more amulets and papyrus scrolls.

Helena quickly snags the Scarab, knowing true value, and something she needed rather badly when she saw it, and not about to let it slip through her fingers if this room collapsed like the last. Hearing the heavy stone lid of the sarcophagus hit the ground as Jasmine opened it, Helena turned and wandered over. Scrolls? Magic maybe? Would we be that lucky? And these amulets look more valuable then the other junk, still, found the scarab! she said excitedly.

"Well, we still need mummy wrappings." Jasmine says, picking up one of the scrolls and scanning through it. "Looks to be just religious stuff."

Helena picked through the scrolls, seeing that they were, to her knowledge, and Jasmine's completely worthless, prayers for the dead, prayers for blessing and rest, just the humdrum callings of a normal priest to a dead god. Sighing and tossing them aside, Helena started working on the coffin. Let's get the wrappings then, you said you hadn't felt any demons from our world, so no worries about the bandages attacking us Helena said, opening it up and looking inside.

Inside the coffin there's a mummified corpse wrapped in white bandages and the head covered with an obsidian mask.

Wow... check this out! Helena said, looking at the mask and reaching for it, not afraid of the dead, or of any other traps at this point, they had found their prize. Hands outstretched, Helena moved to remove the black mask from the mummy, picking it over before collecting the bandages, curious and greedy, it was beautifully carved....

As Helena picks up the mask and starts cutting the bandages, the corpse's eyes suddenly open, revealing vast, hungry emptiness within. Jasmine staggers back, leaving Helena alone to gaze into its eyes.

Helena freezes stock still as the eyes of the corpse fly open, revealing a black abyss that she could almost fall into. Trying to regain her senses, Helena, closed her eyes, and threw herself back, away from the sarcophagus, away from the icy cold empty...

As Helena staggers away from the awakened corpse, the mummy slowly sits up before climbing out of the sarcophagus. Jasmine still seems stunned, but the mummy only pays attention to Helena.

Great, another thing too stupid to know when it should stay dead! Helena cursed angrily, not noticing Jasmine's dazed state, angered at having to deal with this on top of everything else. But she couldn't damage the bandages, she needed those badly.

Scowling, Helena made up her mind, she didn't need the bandages whole, simply not burned away, or melted into a pool. No, she'd send this thing back to a proper afterlife in pieces. Her hands took on a frigid blue chill, as the familiar blade of an ice lance took shape, and was hurled at her attacker with a vengeance.

The bolt of pure cold misses the mummy, who shambles towards Helena with remarkable speed...

Helena curses and dives to the side, Rolling to her feet and putting the pursuing creatures back to her Sister *JASMINE! Wake the fuck up! She mentally shrieked at her sister, finally noting her stunned state as she pitched another howling cold blade at the mummy, trying to stay one step ahead of it.

Helena's bolt misses the mummy again, and the creature continues pursuing her and gets between her and the door. Jasmine finally seems to be recovering her senses, and she turns to stare at the mummy, readying a bolt of fire in her hands.

Jasmine! Don't burn the bandages! We need to cut it apart! Helena cried out, seeing the flames as she dodged around again, working a circle around the room as she threw another lance of ice, trying to physically disect the creature in front of her, refusing to give up.

As Helena finally manages to hit the creature with a bolt of frost, the mummy seems unaffected, but Jasmine hits it with two bolts of fire, causing it to screech in pain as it closes on Helena, slamming an arm at her chest with staggering force, causing at least one rib to crack.

Helena howled in pain and fury as the blow struck her, throwing her to the side as she felt a rib crack. if not for the adrenaline coursing through her body, or her own tougher demon physiology, she highly suspected that blow would have killed any man outright. Clutching her side, Helena was disheartened and infuriated as she threw flame of her own, the fire ringed with blue. She was still in control, in fact her anger was growing impossibly cold... Her meditations were paying off, she could think, she wouldn't let the fury take her this time...
