Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

While Adelle herself seemed to be harboring some need towards apologies, Lacrimosa assured her that there was no need to tell her, she had already stated it out that she understood the busty girl's concerns well enough. The two of them managed to easily feed the remaining children before taking the empty pots away. The kids themselves still remained in the cathedral, taking the offered shelter and time to eat and rest. "Orphans... They live in the surrounding area... But I let them eat and sleep here in the chapel... If they want..." Lacri enlightened Adelle about the children.

Back at the main room, Zacharias had laid out the complete breakfast on the dining table, which was the exact same deal as it had been yesterday.

"Thanks Lacri, it really means a lot to me that you aren't mad about what all I said. And I remember this one little guy showed me the way to the bar Samson is always in, I wonder if he's here too," Adelle replied to Lacri as they finished up with feeding all of the children in there, with Adelle looking around to see if she spotted the little kid that led her to the tavern she first met Samson and Mariela. If she did indeed see him she would wave at him and then go over and tell him hi before going on with Lacri back inside to eat their own breakfast in preparation for their trip down to Blightown.

After they got back inside, Adelle grabbed much the same thing she got the day before, save a little extra meat for the energy she'd need for the journey down. Once she was through eating, she let her food settle a bit before getting back up and heading on to get all of her things ready to go, getting her gun belt fixed on and making certain her pistol was loaded and ready, then she got her new sword strapped up onto her back with the hilt poking up over her shoulder a bit so she could whip it out fast if she needed to. Then she got her cowboy hat, but decided to leave her leather trench coat back so it didn't get wet in their travels.

"Well Lacri, I'm ready whenever you are, so just tell me when you're ready and we can go. Oh and Zach, I'm leaving my coat and my other things here, so keep an eye on it all again for me please," Adelle said first to Lacri, then to Zacharias as she came back from getting her weaponry and the rest of her gear.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

While she hoped to find that helpful kid again, Adelle was dissappointed to not see him. Most likely the boy was skilled and old enough to fend for himself, so he didn't need to find additional aid. The eating time of the girls passed in usual silence, save for the occasional chat by Zacharias, who seemed pleased at Adelle's appetite. As for equipment time, it seemed to be the first day that would go through without the usual dresses, as Lacrimosa didn't get into her previous set-up. Instead, she remained in her normal nun robes while taking the gauntlet along as well. "Probably won't need it... but better be sure..."

When it was told to him, Zacharias shot a smile at Adelle. "Of course, it is what I do." he replied before getting back to the homekeeping tasks he had in at hand while the two ladies left for the gathering area of the hunters.

Lacri's lack of a dress was only a first sight into the group that awaited them at the Watering Hole. Every other sister were out from their usual dresses as well, now clad in quite average gear. Still, they were not missing anything necessary, anyone had their weapons and usual needed gear with them.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

Adelle did feel a little disappointed about not finding her little friend from a few days before, but in the end figured he apparently didn't need the help or he'd likely be there getting some food and a place to sleep for a little while. She smiled at Zacharias when he started talking about her healthy appetite she had, with her replying through a mouthful of bacon, “Well... a girl's gotta have her energy and stuff in case we run into a fight you know. And you're a very good cook Zach, I mean really good, this food is just delicious.

When Lacri came out not in her usual dress, Adelle was taken quite by surprise and idly wondered if the others would be in the same kind of attire. When she and Lacri were about to set on out and Zacharias told her of course he watch over her things, she simply nodded to him and gave him a word of thanks, telling him she really appreciated him doing that for her. After that they headed on to the Watering Hole tavern where they met up with everyone else and Adelle saw that all of them seemed to be without their dresses this time around, probably not wanting them to get ruined or anything she thought. But she did notice they all still had their regular weaponry and such, just no dresses.

Well here we are folks, sorry we're late if we were, but now we're ready when you all are... or at least I am anyway. And since I don't know where this Blightown is or anything, I'll just follow you girls down and back, so don't rely on me too much for directions or anything,” Adelle said to the others as she and Lacri sat down with them to talk with them and Samson.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

The averagely dressed trio had nothing of real importance to say, so they turned to Samson and his words. But unlike before, he had very little to say. "You girls know the deal, so I think Adelle here will learn without too much need for my explanations. It will be over faster than you expect." the old cowboy told them, letting them go without too much hassle and need to sit still. That was what they did, leaving the bar after barely managing to spend five minutes in there.

The travels of the girl group took them in front of a one-time subway station entrance, albeit one that had a small guardhouse and gate preventing entry. A somewhat bored-looking guy was there as well, making final checks on the supplies, which were loaded onto a small cart. It would apparently be somewhat easy to get down into the town, since the cart would move on tracks. "Hey girls, suits in the usual place." he called out to the group as they approached, not bothering to guide them since they knew to go into the house. In some lockers, there were piles of different types of enviromental gear, though the ladies didn't see enough reason to put those on. They simply resorted to using the rubber boots that were provided.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

When the others didn't really talk any at all, Adelle had to kind of wonder if it was because they didn't like going to do what they were going to do after leaving here. Samson it seemed didn't have all that much to tell them other than for Adelle pretty much to just stay with them, and so sent them on their way rather quickly. Though Adelle stopped before they went and ordered herself a little shot of scotch, to help steel her nerves, then she paid the barman whatever she needed and then went on with the others.

"Hey girls, why so quiet?" Adelle asked the others as they came to the guard station and the guard told them the suits were inside in the usual place, Adelle glanced over to him and nodded her head and thanked him as they continued on through.

Adelle grabbed her a pair of the boots as well and slipped them on after changing her regular boots for them. She looked over to the others and asked, "Are we supposed to leave our other boots and whatnot here then girls?"

If they were supposed to, then Adelle would slip her pair of boots into the same locker as theirs and then she'd get back up, telling the others she was ready to go on when they were. She asked if they were supposed to push the cart, or if they were supposed to carry the supplies in it or what, following them and their lead as she had no knowledge of this area of the city, or where they were supposed to head down to. When they were ready to go then Adelle was as well

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

"Just the general feeling about this task, I'd bet..." Rachaela spoke up as the group switched their footwear to the long and waterproof boots. "And that is the idea. They will remain here until we come back, these are just temporary equipment. Unless you like to use them, that is."

"The cart moves with it's engine, there is no need for us to exert any physical effort in order to move it. It is some kind of a train maintenance vehicle, just converted into it's current purpose as a transport. If there's something good to be said, that is one of the few things when it comes to this duty." Mariela spoke up in turn as the cart issues were brought up. The whole exchange of equipment didn't take too much to do, and soon they had taken up positions on different spots of the cart, each of them sitting on some open spot on the container pile while Isabella assumed control of the cart. With a rumble, the engine started up as the gun sister flipped the switch, giving them some background noise as the cart started to advance along the track. A few dozen feet of advance later, they began the slow but steady descent into the dark underworld.

This time, it was no small descent to do. Previously, it had taken only a few minutes for them to reach their destination, but this time it seemed to go on for an hour or two before there was something besides the dinky tunnels and oppressive darkness. The rails took them to cliff overlook, and now their destination could be seen from their high vantage point. It was like a small city underneath, one made from wood by the looks of it. Dozens of small dots of light could be seen among the dark, some stationary but most moving slightly. The previous dusty smell of the tunnel was replaced with that of a fetid swamp, slight traces of rotting things also detectable in it. It was a smell one would not forget soon considering that people lived there, among that smell. "It's... never nice to see that..." Lacrimosa spoke up, being the only one of the sisters to say anything as the transport started to turn, the rails starting to go downwards along the cliff edges a bit more steeply.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

I hear you Rachaela, I mean I'm not really on the up and up about this, and... well honestly I don't like going down into these tunnels unless I'm getting paid to do so. But we're doing this to help those less fortunate than ourselves from what Lacri told me, and that these supplies will go a long way towards helping them out, plus she told me that I'm pretty much required to do it if I want to be able to work as a hunter, which I think is a total load of shit honestly, but there isn't really anything I can do about that. But anyway, I told Lacri last night when she explained it all to me that I've got a bad feeling about us coming down here today, and I just can't seem to shake it, almost like it's haunting me or something you know,” Adelle said to Rachaela, though the others would be able to hear her as well. She wouldn't say it in a way to sound cruel or anything though so as not to anger any of the others with her words.

As they began loading the cart up with the supplies and everything, Adelle listened to Mariela explain about the cart after Adelle brought it up. “Oh so... we ride down huh, well that's a load off my mind honestly, I assumed we'd have to walk it really, I didn't know we'd be riding in this baby all the way down,” Adelle replied after Mariela finished speaking.

When they finally had everything loaded up, Adelle would take up a position in the cart next to Lacrimosa as Isabella started the thing up and got it moving with the controls. When they started descending down, Adelle took herself a deep breath, then let it out slowly to steel her nerves for whatever may come from this journey. While they traveled along the tracks, Adelle tried to keep herself occupied by keeping a lookout for anything that might attack them, staring intently into the darkness around them and not tearing her eyes away if spoken to, though she would talk back of course. Doing this caused her to kind of lose track of time and she wasn't even aware of how much time had actually passed unless one of the girls told her exactly how long it had been since they began their decent into darkness, and she would only tear her eyes away from their surroundings when they came to the cliff edge that overlooked what looked like a small city. Despite it being where it was and all of the other bad things about the place that she had been dreading and had heard about, she had to admit it was kind of pretty in a way seeing all of those lights like that.

Hmm... never nice to see what Lacri? The city, or the swamp?” Adelle asked the nun sister, though as she got a look at the rather steep path Adelle had to wonder if it was the height that Lacri was scared of rather than anything else, which Adelle was betting that was what it was, of course she didn't know for a fact of course. “Or is it perhaps the height that's bothering you Lacri?” Adelle then asked only a moment later before Lacri could reply to her first questions.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

"No... I have no problems with heights... just... those people... living in this place..." Lacri replied after a while, when Adelle had managed to get both of her question out of the way. "It's kind of pretty... but I know that is all about misery..." the nun sister explained her thoughts as they rolled down the steeper cliffsides. It wouldn't have been difficult even on foot, so going down on the cart was a breeze. Soon, the vehicle of sorts got to the bottom, where it entered into the water. If her estimation was correct, Adelle could probably walk in the water in these boots and not get wet.

Their transport began to roll into town, and it didn't manage to avoid getting noticed by the people living there. A few of them were soon following them along the submerged tracks, none looking quite like normal people. All of them sported abnormal skin colors, in differing shades of sickly purple. One even had a lizard-like face instead of a normal human one, showing quite clearly how this place could affect people over time and century. All were dressed in pretty terrible clothing, had all kinds of warts and such on them and carried with them the old lanterns to provide light. There were some big torches here and there along the streets as well, but the lantersn were still needed since it was almost pitch-black around the place. While there were a few more of them along the way, they never got excited or hostile, remaining a quiet escort for the supply cart as it rolled towards the centre of the town.

As the center came into view, Adelle saw that they were not the only non-natives there. Among a set of four torches, a pair of people were waiting for them. One of them seemed so out of place in this world, a pretty tall person clad in a near-complete suit of armor, which was actually pretty clean and tidy considering the surroundings. Identifying this one's gender was pretty hard with the armor and closed helmet there, but the physique leaned towards male. A large handle could be seen over his other shoulder, showing that he or she had a weapon of some stripe there. The other person was on this one's arms, being carried like a bride or something. It was a curious thing to see, since the carried girl was almost identical to Lacri in looks, what could actually be seen from the similar robe. Almost completely same face with only minute differences, this one being blonde while Lacrimosa was red-haired. While they had clearly noticed the supply cart coming, there was no real reaction from either of them. "Sister... looks like she is still alright..."

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

"Ah... I see. Well I don't really know the circumstances as to why they're all down here instead of just living on the surface, but in my experience, the best thing to do is not worry about it so much, and simply do whatever you can to help them out. That's really all you can do, and worrying about it a lot just makes it harder to help those you're trying to help," Adelle said to Lacri after the nun spoke her thoughts on the matters at hand while the cart rolled down along the tracks.

Once they started leveling out at the bottom, Adelle noticed they were now going into water and figured this was what they were talking about when they told her there would be water down here that she may have to walk in. She was pretty sure though that it wasn't so deep that she couldn't walk in it at all, and she was pretty certain that she wouldn't get water in her boots as well, though she didn't want to test that theory just yet unless she had to. As they rolled on into the underground town, Adelle saw that they didn't go unnoticed at all by the inhabitants of the town, with some following them as their cart rolled through. Adelle noticed that none of them looked like a normal human from what she was seeing, which didn't really scare her any, though when she saw the lizard faced person she nearly jumped, thinking for a moment or two that it was something about to attack them before stopping herself when she saw he or she wasn't about to attack. She didn't want to even imagine having to live down here and felt sorry for these people for having to do so.

The town was all but pitch black inside she saw, the only light coming from the lanterns the people were carrying, and the torches here and there in the streets. Adelle was quite relieved when the inhabitants of the town didn't try and mob them for the supplies and such, because she wasn't sure if she could handle that or not at the moment.

When their cart rolled up into the center of the town, Adelle noticed the two people standing there in the center of four burning torches. She was quite taken aback by their looks, the one in the armor she was unsure of as to whether or not it was a man or woman, though she was quite sure it was a man from the size and all. She saw the woman though looked... like Lacri honestly. She looked like Lacrimosa in almost every way imaginable, save her face was just slightly different in a couple of small ways, and her hair Adelle saw was blonde rather than Lacri's red.

"Sister? Still alright?" Adelle asked, looking between Lacri and her look alike for a moment, looking a little confused, then she continued as she exited the cart, assuming the girls did also, "Well Lacri, are you going to introduce us? Is she your blood sister Lacri? And why is she down here anyway?"

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

"Well... yes, Astrea is my actual blood sister... and used to be a part of our group... until we came here for the first time... For her, it was a revelation... and she remained here afterwards... not wanting to leave the people here to their fates... So she lives with them now... helping the community with her healing arts and other acts of kindness... though recently... she has gone weak from the constant exposure to the water... and has lost her ability to walk or stand properly... But as you can see... she is not alone..." Lacri broke into storytime briefly. "The man there is Sir Garl... a former hunter as well... and a bit of an eccentric... as the knight armor might suggest... But... he is still a very noble person... and when he heard of sister and her choice... he too left the surface world and dedicated himself to her and the townspeople here... ready to protect them all with his life if necessary... But... he is an unbelievably strong person... and there are few who can match him in melee..." the nun sister carried on, going for another brief break before moving on. "They say he was a one-time partner of a similar fellow... Izak the Immaculate... who is number 2 in the top three... The other hunters were not all that serious about them... But now... Izak is number two and Garl is here... So they can't belittle them for their unorthodox styles anymore..."

As Lacri talked, the group approached closer to the square of torches, which seemed to cause unease to Garl. With a quick switch of stance and grip on his chosen Lady, the knight fellow let go and changed his hold on Astrea's form, allowing him to reach for his weapon with one hand while the other still safely held the other nun girl. With a quick lift, the weapon was on his shoulder and at the ready, turning out to be a massive hammer of sorts. It looked like a broken-off section from an octagonal pillar attached to a handle, one that had been recarved some more and made into a pretty beautiful weapon. But he quickly calmed down when Astrea whispered some words at him, the stance reverting into a more relaxed one at her word. Still, he didn't change his hold, keeping the hammer firmly on his shoulder. The others seemed to be alright in Astrea's books, but she seemed to ponder Adelle. "So here you are again, sisters... Are they having less people active since you are here remarkably fast? And you brought a new person." the other nun spoke up, turning to Adelle. "Garl was unsure as to what you were and had some reservations towards new people. Excuse him."

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

As they traveled closer towards the center of the town where the heavily armored man was standing holding the Lacrimosa nun look alike, Adelle listened to all Lacri had to say, learning a lot of new information about the hunters and such, as well as learning that Astrea here was indeed Lacri's real blood sister.

"I can understand why she'd want to help them and everything, but she should take her health into consideration don't you think. I mean how can she help them all like she wants if she doesn't help herself? If you ask me I think she should go back to the surface at least long enough to recover from whatever is ailing her. And I've never heard anything about this sir Garl, and I'd never want to cross him and have to fight him, so I'd never even attempt to match him in battle. But who is number one of the three, if Izak is number two, and I believe you said that Ignatius was number three or something like that," Adelle said to Lacri as they got nearer to Lacri's sister and bodyguard.

As they closed the last of the distance, Adelle saw the big armored guy Garl shift his hold on Astrea so he could get his massive weapon ready to fight with. At his movement, Adelle got a bit scared that he was about to attack them, but when Astrea whispered something to him and he relaxed his stance a bit, she relaxed a bit herself. However Adelle saw he didn't put his weapon up and merely left it out on his shoulder, giving her the feeling that she didn't seem to be well liked at the moment, but she wasn't going to draw her weapon unless she absolutely had to for fear of starting a fight, that she would likely lose.

"Oh, of course miss Astrea, I can understand you all not being very... well, sure about new people. But I swear I wouldn't do anything to cause any trouble, I'm only here to help as best I can," Adelle said to Astrea as she exited the cart and made sure she could step down into the water without it going up past her boots. Once out she would slowly walk over to Astrea and Garl, holding her hands up to show Garl that she meant no harm, then she would extend her right hand out to shake Astrea's hand if she would take it, then she'd do the same for Astrea's knight, saying, "Lacri told me a bit about you both on the way here, I'm Adelle, pleasure to meet you both. I promise you big guy that I'm not going to try anything, because that would be stupid for me to do I think."

Regardless of whether or not they both took Adelle's hand in friendship, once she was done there, she would head back over to see what the others needed her to help them do to unload the supplies and whatnot

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

Lacrimosa made no further comment about her sister and her condition, which was actually a good remainder that both of the sisters were rather stubborn and stuck to their causes no matter how much they had to suffer themselves. Maybe it was a family thing.

It only took Adelle the first step into the water to find out that there might be need to check what there was underneath the murky surface to avoid slipping. A weird sort of slime stuck to her boot, not really being anything hostile or even living, but a simple pest that formed in the waters and stuck to things. The goop was still no major deterrent, and the busty girl got to move around quite easily still. When she offered hands, Astrea was as polite as one would expect and took up the handshake, but Garl went with just bowing his head at her. Still, he seemed to ease down a bit more as the ladies shook hands, eventually setting his weapon back too so he could once again assume the proper carry of his sworn Lady.

Before the girls could get to opening up the cart, a shouted alarm echoed through the air. "RAT! EVERYBODY ABLE TO DEFEND, WEST END!" a distressed voice called before the sound of breaking wood followed it. This seemed to cause a great deal of alertness in Astrea and Garl, who broke off from the group and started heading towards the yellings, the knight's step long and brisk even with his weapon, armor and Astrea slowing him down.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

As soon as Adelle stepped down into the water, she wondered just what it was she stepped down into, as it was something sticky and squishy. But she decided not to worry any about it, and she decided not to ask any further about Lacri and her sister's stubbornness with their health and such, as she figured that it was a lost cause. Once she went over and shook Astrea's hand, Adelle noticed that her knight protector eased up with his stance for Adelle and nodded to her, though didn't shake her hand when she offered, so she merely nodded back to him.

Just as she was heading back over to the others to start unloading the cart of supplies, Adelle and the others heard someone call out an alarm about a rat or something attacking the west side of the town. Adelle glanced over to Lacri and the others to see what they were going to do, because she knew what she was going to do... she was going to help, because she couldn't not help since she was already here and all.

Come on girls, we've gotta help,” Adelle said to girls, pulling her pistol out of its holster and getting it ready to fight, not caring what could happen to her in the process as she felt that she was here, so she had to help in some way or another.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

"Of course." Isabella replied to the signs of attack and Adelle words, getting confirmation from Mariela in a quick follow-up. "Not in the job description, but I'd hate myself if I didn't help them with this." the mage of the bunch agreed, all of them soon making way towards the scene in the wake of the surprisingly agile knight and his liege, as it were.

As the shouting earlier had stated, there indeed was a rat at the western fringes of the town. But it was one the size of a subway car, so the alarm had come for a good reason. A few townsfolk were trying to bat at the large thing with their makeshifts weapons, and a pair of them could be seen among the debris of a building that had been partially destroyed, no doubt sent there by the huge animal. The other was most likely killed, but the other still lived with some wounds. While it was not sure how she would fare in a fight, Garl seemed to have no intention of risking Astrea's health. "Keep the Lady safe. I'll take it from here." the knight spoke up to a townsman, letting him support the second nun girl and taking his place in the field. The large hammer came off again, quite confidently being carried in one hand while the other held a sizeable shield. With the portable wall betweem himself and the rat, Garl engaged the animal with a steady and calm pace of doing things. He seemed to know better than charge in recklessly.

"Well let's go then, no time to waste," Adelle said to the others as they rushed off in pursuit of Astrea and Garl, trying to catch up to them so they could help.

Once they got there they saw a colossal sized rat on the western side of the town, it was easily as large if not larger than a subway car. When Adelle saw it and the sheer size of it, her eyes went wide as saucers as she aimed her little gun at the enormous thing. She saw the townspeople trying to fight it off, but it didn't seem to be going very well for them, as she saw a couple of them laying in the debris of a partially collapsed building. One she saw was most likely dead from the blow, though the other seemed to still be alive, albeit would likely be hurting for a while afterwards.

When she saw Garl hand Astrea over to one of the other people down there to hold her and keep her safe, Adelle figured she would get to see the big guy in action now and see just how powerful he was. She watched him heft up a large shield in one hand, and his massive hammer in the other, apparently not worried too much as he cautiously moved in at the thing.

"D-Does he need any help miss Astrea?" Adelle asked Lacri's sister after moving over to where she was.

If Astrea said he may indeed need some help, then Adelle wouldn't hesitate for even a second as she aimed her gun at the beast's face, firing a round or two off into its eyes as best she could to blind it so they could take it down easier.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

The three remaining combatants seemed to have a strategy going on, the two townsfolk with their makeshift bludgeons aiming to distract the giant rat and possibly open a spot for Garl to swing his pillar hammer at it. The thing was fast though, flailing in a very harsh manner to fend them off. It hit against the knight's shield with the side of it's snout, but the force seemed to hardly matter to him, as he slid back only the barest of inches. That sort of poise was a good thing to have against something like this, not getting sent flying right away.

When it came to her question, there was no need for Adelle to ask. The others were fully going into help mode already, Isabella and Rachaela utilizing their longer ranged options while Mariela and Lacrimosa sought to get into the fray in some manner as well, not sure if they should try to go for the animal or be additional distractions.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

Adelle watched the remaining townsfolk fighting the thing attempting to draw its attention to them so Garl could get a good opening on it. She figured that her question didn't even need to be asked as the others began moving in to help, so she continued with her plan, aiming directly at the thing's eyes with her pistol and firing over her allies shoulders to try and distract the large beast. Hopefully with any luck she'd be able to deal some damage to their foe.

Be careful you two, and don't let it catch you,” Adelle called out to Lacrimosa and Mariela as they moved in close to help, while she, Isabella, and Rachaela all stayed back a bit to do what they did best with their weapons, and in Rachaela's case magic.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

With more harassment aimed at it, the rat was getting more frantic in it's movements, flailing harder than before and seeking to get a bite at something. Getting hit my bullets and magic was really frustrating the thing, leading it to take a bite at the thing that it saw the most directly, Garl. The knight was still no pushover and backstepped, holding out the solid mass of steel in his hand and letting the animal take a bite. It seemed to be a bad experience, to bite on a solid clump of metal, for the thing quickly retreated after the attempt. This short backing was observed by the harassment team, who proceeded to bring in some pain with their weapons, the townsfolk and the melee girls all getting some hurt done.

With the distraction provided to him, Garl moved in properly this time. Further aided by a blinding magic/bullet hit from the distance girls, he was granted easy swing space. Taking his shot, the knight swung the massive hammer in a huge overhead arc from behind his back, getting a truly gargantuan downswing going. It was spot on, the impact hitting square between the rat's eyes, the area caving in and sending in a spray of brain material and blood into the immidiate surroundings. In that one particular swing, the rat went down and limp, the issue ending faster than it had began.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

As Adelle, Isabella, and Rachaela were hounding the thing from long range with their weapons and magic. Then she saw the rat bite at Garl and feared for his life for only an instant before he quickly back stepped and held his shield up for the thing to bite instead of him, which afterward she saw it retreat as all of the other melee fighters hounded it as well, all of them getting some good hits in as well.

As Adelle, Isabella, and Rachaela all shot another volley of their attacks at the thing, further distracting the thing for the knight to move in, Garl did just that and quickly jumped in, swinging his massive hammer down at the thing's face and caving it in with one swing. Adelle was astounded by his strength and thought to herself to never get in front of his swings... or anywhere near them for that matter.

W-Wow... that was... just wow. I didn't expect that kind of strength to be honest, I mean I know that weapon is huge and probably heavy as hell, but I just... wow, that was awesome honestly,” Adelle said, staring at the knight with an awed look on her face.

She would shake out of it after a couple of moments or so though, remembering what they were down there for as the others started coming back from the scene of the fight. Once they were all back, Adelle would suggest that they go ahead and get the supplies unloaded before something like that happened again to prevent them from doing so, and possibly damaging the supplies in the process.
