Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

"What is this bizarre obsession towards my name?" the tengu blurted as she was questioned yet again, the poking only making her push Adelle's legs even farther apart from each other. Before she could get any further, Rachaela finally had the ability to get into this strange battle of sorts, coming in with a thunderous slap to the tengu's face. The gesture turned the whole situation into another rich girl fight, fairly similar to the one Adelle had observed between the mage girl and the questionable princess Amelia a few days ago. The verbal abuse was fairly restricted in subject matter, Rachaela constantly making it a point to state that the tengu was dressing like a hooker and should get her clothes out from the box they were in, while the tengu kept on hammering the undeveloped child stuff, insulting the mage's tiny physique and short stature. Even as she was clearly superior in physical ability, the tengu was somehow reduced to Rachaela's level and not using any abilities she had as they went about their slap fight. While it was not the best thing to see or hear, at least it had taken the tengu off from Adelle.

"Well, it's better than saying, hey you, or bird girl," Adelle replied to the tengu girl.

Feeling her legs being spread further apart, Adelle's hands clenched as she stared up at the tengu girl. Before anything more was done however, Adelle saw Rachaela blast the tengu in the face. After that Adelle was literally just laying there as the two argued back and forth with one another. When Rachaela said the tengu was dressing like a hooker, Adelle burst out laughing, and laughed again when Rachaela was berated by the tengu.

Since she was left alone, Adelle got up and stretched, rubbing her aching legs and shoulders before bending backwards to crack her back. After doing that, she let out a sigh of relief before walking over to the arguing duo, who were both still going at it. She came up behind the tengu, gently grasped one of her wings and ran her fingers across it, making sure not to ruffle her feathers.

"So... how long have you been here? And which way was Lucrezia taken or whatever? The sooner you tell us, the sooner we'll leave," Adelle asked the tengu, butting in to their argument to try and learn more about what had happened to Lucrezia. "Although, I could just pluck a few feathers and tickle you with them if you keep insisting on being mean to me. Because that fall hurt quite a bit you know," she added, grasping a single out of the way feather between her index finger and thumb.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

Again, the tengu seemed to take exception to being disturbed, stopping the verbal debate as soon as Adelle approached her. "Just what is this nonsense? First this little brat and now you and your feather threat." she said, starting to look agitated by everything. With a circular sweep of the fan around her, the tengu conjured up a swirling hurricane around herself for just a few seconds, which was enough to push both Adelle and Rachaela back from her. With a rather huffy look, she zipped across the different roofs before landing on the main house and pointing her fan out to a direction. "That way, the wastelands outside the city. They have a hideout some hours away, on foot that is. You might reach them before they make it there if you hurry. Now leave, before your nonsense rubs off on me." she came out with what she knew, apparently having tolerated the two for more than she wanted to at that point.

"Now see hon, was that so hard to be helpful? No it wasn't, and would have saved all three of us some trouble, and me some pain," Adelle asked after she and Rachaela were blown back a bit by some more wind. "Thank you though, I appreciate it. Now come on Rachaela, we gotta hurry," Adelle went on to say before turning to Rachaela as she headed for her bike.

She climbed back onto her bike and started the engine, waited for Rachaela to climb on, then started off in the direction the tengu had pointed out into the wastelands. Adelle revved her engine into high gear as they got onto the open road. "If Lucrezia is the top hunter at the guild, then how did some common thugs manage to get the drop on her enough to capture her?" Adelle asked as they drove along, her eyes never leaving the road in front of them.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

"Shut up and get going already. Enough of this. My pride as a tengu can't handle it." was everything the tengu had to say. Clearly she was not interested in the two anymore as they could clearly see that she was not following them.

"Somehow I doubt these thugs are not the common type. Even if they caught her by surprise, it would take some hard effort to get her into a state of helplessness. While she is a magic user at her core, Lucrezia is no squishy wizard." Rachaela expressed her thoughts about their situation and what she had in mind about these abductors. After about half an hour of driving, they started to approach a group in the distance. Even from their far away position it was easy to make out that the four members of the group were rather tall and muscular in build, and their green skin made it clear that they were not human. One of the brutes had a large sack over his shoulder, which was probably Lucrezia.

Adelle rolled her eyes at the tengu as she spoke again and Adelle climbed onto her bike again, letting her speak and blow off steam as she and Rachaela left.

...

"Hmm, maybe they drugged her or something," Adelle said, suggesting that drugs may have been used for it.

After a short while of driving, Adelle saw a group in the distance. "Hey, Rachaela, look ahead. Looks like the group that tengu mentioned. I'll drive straight at them and go past, you blast them as best you can. We'll make this fast and snatch her from them, then take her back. Those guys don't look human either, or friendly," Adelle said to Rachaela, glancing over her shoulder at Rachaela and nodding.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

"Always a possibility. Would explain it for sure."

As the motorcycle got closer, the nature of the group started to get more apparent. The beings in it were most likely orcs of sort, their green skin initially suggesting that, and as they got close, the things turned to face them, revealing that they had large fangs on their lower jaws as well, which confirmed their orcish nature. They were tall, about 8 feet on the average, only wearing pants and shoes. And while they were heavily muscled, the orcs still had hefty pot bellies for some reason. But as the pair took their pass from the side of the defensive orcs, there was something else getting revealed as well.

The orcs had blocked the fifth member of their crew from view as they had moved in formation before, this one being in the lead most likely. Clad in a fairly similar robe as the tengu was a blonde woman, not quite up to matching her apparent minions in height but still far more physically imposing than any normal female. She had a seriously ripped physique too, with only her torso and upper legs being covered by the partially ripped robe, one that was blue and decorated with a pattern of mountaintops. But the most prominent features on this one were the garish drinking gourd in her hands and the red horn reaching about a foot from her forehead. Unlike the orcs, she was not particularly bothered by the approach, and was content on simply chugging her drink as the two zoomed by. Rachaela dropped a burst of fire into the middle of the orc squad, not managing to kill any of them, but there was certainly some harm caused to the orcs from the drive-by.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

As Adelle sped up towards the group of what looked to be orcs, she saw that they were large, and she noticed a fifth one, a female among the group that wasn't quite as tall as the rest. Adelle couldn't tell if she was an orc as well or not, but glanced over her shoulder as they went by. "Wait, who or what was that?" Adelle asked as they sped by and Rachaela blasted her fire at the orcs.

She turned the bike around and prepared to drive by again for Rachaela to continue her harassment of the orcs, hoping that they could manage to force them to drop Lucrezia and leave without having to fight any more than that. Adelle was prepared to fight them though if she must, and if she saw an opportunity to do so she would take a shot at them with her pistol to wound, aiming mainly for their shoulders and arms to incapacitate them.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

"Not one of them, that's for sure. She appears human, besides that horn."

Pulling off a U-turn, the pair went for it again. At that point, the orc squad had wheeled around to face them again, with the woman in the middle still being fairly passive. The most she did besides drinking was to give the two a look on the side. The orcs actually tried to kick at the busty girl's bike as she came towards them, but she was too fast to reach and possibly knock over. Rachaela dropped another cluster of fire into their ranks, further harming the squad as they caught the heat of the flames. "Get it done already, you little shits. Or do I really have to stop my good time?" the woman commanded the goons as they fumbled around.

"Yeah you noticed too then. What the hell is she then?" Adelle replied as she wheeled the bike around and started for their second pass.

Adelle swerved a bit to avoid getting her bike kicked and possibly knocked over, being a bit too fast for them to hit thankfully. She glanced back as Rachaela dropped another blast into their ranks and caused more damage to them before the horned woman spoke up. "She's their commander, that's for sure. I'd say go for her on the next pass, while I take us on a wide angle around them so they don't hit us," Adelle told Rachaela before wheeling around for a third pass.

She drove fast, taking a wider angle as she'd told Rachaela she would, to be more careful this time around so they weren't wrecked.

Again, the two girls made an attack run, skirting widely to draw themselves out from attack range. Rachaela dropped more fireballs, this time aiming at the leader, who seemed to be uncaring still and simply telling her minions to do their job at that same flat voice. The attack aimed at her seemed to wake her up though as she plugged up her gourd and hung it on her belt sash. Kicking one of the orcs out of the way, she was going to enter the fray. "Stay back, you slouches. I'll show you how it's done." she commented as she started to trail the offending motorcycle with her gaze, preparing for a counter-attack.

Speeding past them again, Adelle watched as Rachaela rain fire down on the orcs again. Aiming at the woman seemed to provoke a response though, as she put her gourd away. "Get ready Rachaela, she's bout to try something and I don't want to find out," Adelle said over her shoulder at Rachaela before turning the bike around once more and revving the engine. "Think we ought to go in on foot now that they're beat up some? I think I could take her if those others are down and out of the way," Adelle then asked her companion.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

"Honestly, I'd rather not. You know what will probably happen if they get to me. You might be able to outstruggle those things, but I don't think I have much chance to escape if those brutes grab me, so it would require me to keep away from them. But it's your call, what with it being your bike, and I'm not completely against the idea since we did soften them a bit." Rachaela called from the back as she was questioned about strategy. The horned lady was waiting for them, but she was keeping her eyes on the bike, ready to meet the pair without much care towards what they picked as the method of approach.

"Alright then, get ready. I say aim for the minions first and finish them off. But it's your call on that regard," Adelle replied, glancing over her shoulder at Rachaela and nodding. "But I know she's gonna be aiming for my bike, and that's one helluva walk back," she added before looking back to the woman and her minions.

"Fuck it, we gotta help Lucrezia," Adelle said after a couple of moments of mulling it over before revving her bike and going at them again. She pulled her pistol out and fired a couple of shots at the woman to try and distract her from anything she might try and do.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

After the exchange of plans, the two went at it again. Firing at the horned woman didn't seem to bother her much as she moves to intercept the oncoming bike. She took one bullet to the abdomen, but it did not stop her in the slightest as she came to meet them head-on. The collision happened as expected, but instead of flying to the side, the woman had braced herself to meet the bike, and was holding onto the bike's front as they slid back about two dozen feet. After that, the bike came to a halt as the strenght of the woman overpowered the bike's. Without much to say, she started to lift the bike off the ground, with both Adelle and Rachaela still on it.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

Speeding towards their foe, Adelle fired a round right into her abdomen, which barely slowed her down if it did at all. Adelle's eyes widened as she noticed this and she was about to swerve to avoid her, but it was too late. The woman dug her heels in and caught the bike. The force with which she hit the woman forced her back several yards, before coming to a halt.

"Well, that's something you don't see every day," Adelle commented just as the woman began lifting the bike up.

Adelle gasped, yanked the key out of the ignition, and grabbed Rachaela before diving off of the bike, rolling a couple of times as she landed. Adelle was on her feet again in moments though and made to shoot at the woman's support with her pistol to either take down some while their leader was distracted, or at least incapacitate them. If the woman made any moves to try and hit or grab them, Adelle would roll out of the way and switch targets to aim her pistol at the woman's face.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

By the time Adelle was reaching for her, Rachaela had already evacuated the back of the bike, the sudden stop not going unnoticed from her in the least. The horned woman continued to hoist the bike up after they departed, the muscles on her arms tightening visibly as he lifted the thing like it was made from styrofoam. Thankfully enough, there was good distance between the girls and the orcs, who were not coming for them save the one with the bag, who was staying back from the melee at that moment. The busty girl could get a few shots off on them, giving two of them some further hurt with her revolver as she experienced a good time of shooting at that moment.

Thankfully both of them were paying attention as the bike suddenly came back down towards them, the leader of the enemy host apparently deciding to use the vehicle as a club as she sought to smash them with it. With the ripped sleeves and mid-thigh length of her robe giving away this horned one's physique, it was not hard to notice that she was a monster of brute, honest physical force. She was rather tall too, probably hanging around the seven feet mark.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

Luckily Rachaela had dove off the bike before Adelle grabbed her, and together they rolled off and across the dirt as the bike was lifted further. Adelle fired her pistol at the orcs, specifically the one coming towards them that was presumably carrying Lucrezia. Glancing back at the woman, Adelle gasped and dove out of the way, rolling a couple of times to avoid the bike as it was slammed back down where she was just standing, and thankfully Rachaela avoided the thing too.

"Let Lucrezia go and we can all just go our separate ways, and nobody need know it was you all who kidnapped her," Adelle told the woman as she aimed her pistol directly at her face and showing no fear, well... mostly no fear.

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

The orcs were somewhat held at bay by the gunfire, which bought some precious seconds for the girls. The fact that she was getting aimed at still had no visible impact on the horned one, at least until she lifted the bike up again. Instead of attempting to attack straight away, she dropped the vehicle, leaving it standing vertically on it's front wheel as she hid herself behind it, the lean against the bike keeping it standing and acting as a shield. "I don't think so, we have business with her. Or the boss has. But more importantly..." she said as she reached a hand out from behind the bike barrier to give a quick point. "You're running low. Think you can make it once you need to reload? As much as I'd like a challenge of strength, no way in hell are either of you going to hold out if I grab you. Heck, I'll break both of you at the same time if you come at me as a pair."

Re: Steel Sky (Adelle/Mind Flayer)

"Who said that was my only gun honey," Adelle replied to the woman, pulling her bigger pistol out of its holster and aiming it at her now with a raised eyebrow. "Now I could just shoot the gas tank on my baby there and blow you and it both up. I'd rather not, but if you force me to then I will," she went on to say, cocking the gun and aiming directly at the gas tank to show she would do so if forced to.

"Who's your boss? And why does he want Lucrezia? And maybe you can beat me, and Rachaela too possibly. But can you do that and carry both of us and Lucrezia? Because I doubt those guys over there are in very good shape to carry on very far after the damage we've done to them. And they definitely won't be able to if we take them out before you can take us out, and they're already pretty beat up," Adelle asked her after a few moments, keeping her bigger pistol aimed at the gas tank while handing her other off to Rachaela and then some bullets to reload it for her. "Plus there are others on their way out here too, more heavily armed than we are. So I'd say you've got two options here. One, you let her go, put my bike down and the three of us leave and you go as well. Or two, all of your minions die, and you may very well beat us as well, but you'll take a lot of damage in the process of it as well and won't be able to carry anything away for your troubles, because I'll put bullets in your knees so you can't," Adelle then told her, hoping to bluff them a bit here and get out of this without having to kill any of them if possible.
