So yesterday I got a fuckton of uncleaned blueberries, which is a problem. Therefore today I had to clean them. Now, if any of you have done that kind of thing before, you know it's rather tedious. So I came up with a reasonable plan to throw water at the problem and hope it goes away. As expected, the scum floated to the top. But! The blueberries weren't dense enough, so some of them floated to the top, too, making me still have to do actual work.

How do I get denser blueberries?

You can do some reverse colandering or something. You put them into a large bowl or however you were washing them, except you put in a holed bowl of any type face down and keep it pressed to the bottom over the blue berries, then pour the water out?

Inject them with lead, it will make them sink!

also toxics suggestion would work better if you skimmed the scum off the top.

This may sound stupid, but instead of varying the density of the blueberries, try varying the density of the water, e.g. heating it. Although the density of the blueberries will of course adjust, but it may be worth a try.
