Mino's new technique was something to truly behold, and the skill with which she employed it, although a little sloppy as it was new, was mildly terrifying as the small and withdrawn girl took a step back, coiling up her body before exploding forward to bring the blade of her weapon to bear. hitting it's target, the magic that burst through the weapon not only damaged the creature, but literally tore it asunder, the wind cutting it over and over again even as the blade cleaved it in two until nothing but whisps of smoke remained.

Sarah, also in the throws of combat, was surprisingly agile, ducking around her opponent as she closed her eyes and perked up her ears. Without being able to see, she listened closely, before sidestepping the creature as it darted forward and slashing it with her knife again. Sarah's adversary however, did not die, but it did flee, and quickly, tearing away from the surprisingly powerful pair and back into the shadows of the forest.

Minos new Hammer Blow technique had dealt so much damage it almost made Mino fall over in surprise, regaining her balance she could see Sarah contending with another enemy, using a very unique technique to combat the enemy, which ultimately caused it to flee, panting, Mino walked over to Sarah and hugged her, smiling.

Sarah, far from overjoyed was shaking and clinging to Mino on the verge of tears, having never fought anything like that before, because as Mino had found out, unlike most cases, the Shade's hypnotism was in itself unpleasant, and she'd only been exposed to it for a moment. it was if all hope and happiness had been drained right out of Mino and been replaced with despair, and as she started crying, she hugged Mino tightly. "we're Really Really lucky Mino..." She said breathlessly, the shades having managed to shake her to her core.

Almost in a instant, Minos happiness for not becoming just another victim was replaced with almost pure despair, as Mino sniffed and then went into a fit of crying with Sarah, Mino tried to keep her crying quiet enough so that she wouldnt alert other monsters to their position as she cried into Sarahs shoulder to try and calm herself down.

The despair only lasted for a few moments thankfully, and their fit of hysteria faded with it, drying her eyes, Sarah tugged on Mino's arm. "We shouldn't stay here Mino..." She said, kissing her cheek and hugging her again. "These monsters aren't like the ones back home, these are really scary..."

Thankfully their hysterical fit of crying faded away after a few minutes, Mino drying her eyes and looking around, Sarah said she wanted to go but Mino looked back at her and said "W-We need to keep training...y-you need to as well...w-what are you gonna d-do if im not there?" Mino warned, hugging Sarah briefly before continuing through the forest, once more keeping a sharp eye out for anything that could attack.

Sarah nodded, but didn't look all that happy about it as they continued into the forests, the shadows only getting darker and deeper as the world around them got completely silent. It seemed, that just as Gestalt had warned, that this forest was an unholy place cursed by the undead and who knew what else. After 5 more minutes of walking, as if their luck hadn't been bad enough already, they heard a sarcastic voice calling to them...

"well looky here boys, what do we have on our hands this time~"
4 men had now walked out from behind trees, some holding rope, others holding what looked like clubs made of darkened wood. "I dunno boss, what do you think two cute girls sell for as slaves these days?" one said, to the one who had greeted them, who was holding a club. "Entirely too much to not take" He said, his eyes full of malice as they started to pace towards the girls.

Mino and Sarah were caught out by a roving band of what she could only assume were slave traders, cursing to herself, she was badly outnumbered, looking at Sarah, she whispered "R-run!", looking around at where the men were standing, Mino would pick out a area she could run through with the least chance of being caught out and then make a break for it, holding Sarahs hand so she could follow closely behind her.

And much to the confusion of the slavers, who had eyed the weapons and assumed a fight was at hand, Sarah and Mino began tearing ass away back towards the entrance of the forest. Thankfully, two small in shape girls were faster then four men weighted down with gear it seemed, and through a combination of luck, as a thrown knife had damn near hit Sarah, they both managed to put enough distance between themselves and the slavers to reach some temporary safety. However, Mino now had no idea where she was, because they'd been forced to turn. Her only way out of the forest now was the compass, and even she had to give a mental and heartfelt thank you to Gestalt for the valuable gift...

Thankfully Mino and Sarah had good enough footspeed to outrun the group of slave traders and dodge their throwing knife attempt, however now she was stuck in a forest she had no idea to get out of, taking out her compass, she followed the arrow pointing northward.

North was indeed the right way to go, and it wasn't long until Mino could see the light of the end of the forest, and the sloping hills that led back to the village, whos name she still didn't know, which struck her as amusing. Still, she felt stronger for the journey and the training, as if, in the end this had been the right idea. She had learned valuable things about some of the denizens here, and had come out unscathed, it was a victory indeed. But she noticed something a little strange upon leaving the forest, a strange kind of knife embedded in a tree. It didn't have a blade really, but was instead a kind of 4 sided Spike with a thin handle and a ring at the end with a message written in several languages. "Capitol, Shujakin District. Alone, Gabrielle."

After reading it, Mino had the strangest sensation of being watched for a moment, before it was gone....

Thankfully the compass had gotten her out the forest, however she saw something stuck in a tree, a strange form of knife with a message written on it, it seemed like someone wanted to meet Mino, she took the knife off the tree and examined it before tossing it to Sarah for her to use, she went over the note and was now curious about going to the capitol, she put the note in her jeans pockets in case she forgot and she turned to look at Sarah and say "S-So...anything else you wanna do?"

Sarah thought for a moment, and then answered. "I want to go shopping, but we have no money, shouldn't we earn some before we leave? There's always work to be done~ Ryan always said so!"

Mino nodded and said "T-Thats a good idea!", taking Sarahs hand she returned to the town they were currently staying in, looking around for anything that could use two people helping out with jobs.

Re-entering the town, they found Grimmlock and Gestalt waiting for them, However upon seeing them both unharmed, the dwarves, who had taken a liking to the girls sighed in relief. Sarah, bouncing up, asked Gestalt how they could make a little coin and the Dwarf laughed heartily. "If you wish, you can make some for me, you can either cook lunch and dinner today with myself, and learn something, or ye can chop firewood for the furnaces, hard work, but good for the body. Both jobs pay well, and regardless of yes er no, yer meals here are already paid for. If neither o those be to your liking, I know Grimmey needs help down below sharpening fresh weapons from teh forge."

Mino was offered a wide variety of jobs, the only one that interested Mino was chopping firewood as they said it was good for the body, and looking at herself Mino felt like she needed a bit more strength, so she said "I-Ill help with the fire wood!"

Sarah giggled, "Ill help cook then!" She said grinning widely as Gestalt clapped his hands. "Two better helpers I couldn't ask fer! This way~!" He said grinning. Mino was led to a chopping block behind the inn with a large ax and a mountain of firewood. "Now lass, you WILL be stronger after this, but also very tired, don't strain yerself." He said, walking to the block and setting a log on it, before showing surprising strength as he hefted the ax, and let the tools weight do most of the work for him, splitting the wood cleanly before offering her the ax.

After that was done, he led Sarah away to a back door, and work began. And it felt good...

Mino was led over to a chopping block to get the firewood done, looking at the mountain of wood she had to chop made her swallow in anxiousness, but never the less she pressed on, setting the first bit of wood on the block, she started the long grind of cutting wood, losing her balance at first but eventually getting the hang of it as she went at a slow but steady pace, cutting up the wood with ease almost, despite the fact she felt like her arms were going to turn black and drop off.

It took several hours to clear all the wood, but Mino was a stubborn and determined sort, another odd twist to her personality, and despite how sore she felt, and it was damned sore, she felt a sense of accomplishment. Coming back outside, Gestalt looked and applauded. "Bloody well done Lass, Come in, Lunch be served, yer friend Sarah is a fine cook, and I've got yer pay as well, fer now just come eat and rest."

Finshing, Mino was invited inside for lunch with Sarah who had done a good job as well, nodding, Mino followed Gestalt inside to eat, looking around, she asked "G-Gestalt? D-Do you know anyone i-in the capitol called Gabrielle...?", wondering if anyone knew about the writer of that note.
