Everyone remain patient, things will work out. In the meantime if you are a content creator just brush up on some of your work. I don't know why so people don't save their work, I have an external hard drive specific for backing my work just in case things like this happen.

I have curently access to the site by his IP, dunno how long it will remain.

edit : to access it as usual, you have to add the line in the hosts file of your system (c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts on windows OS )

ex:

you can find the IP of the site by google (search " 'sitename' IP ")

I made as you said and still can't enter the site

I tried that method, and it's not working for me. I went to exactly the folder you specified, opened it with notepad, inserted a line formatted just as you specified, and saved it, but when I type either the IP or the address into any browser address bar, I get the same message as when I just try to go there normally. Am I doing something wrong?

Well, you have to add both the url with and without the www on the line past the ip adress.

edit : indeed, you just need the one without www

This works great. Even if no new posts are there is great to be back

Hey, someone just broke those rules everyone respects in this thread.

I'm not really planning on kicking you out unless you force me (by the way you have until I wake up in the morning to get rid of all related posts to that), but its a question going through a lot of the minds of people who donate their hard earned monies for this site to function. Similarly if you don't find a more permanent solution one of y'all (probably a newbie to your community that just doesn't understand the way the world works) is going to do something stupid that will be bad for all of you.

I understand your point and I understand your concern. I know you're not making them up. But you could still try to be reasonable and polite. Most of us respect you and your rules. There's newbies and some individual rude people in every group. I can't say that all of ulmf's members are rude irreverent people just because your Toxic has been acting inappropriate in this thread, can I?

Annyway HG it's a shitty site, gender can't get automatically need to pm a moderator when u a girl....

I dunno if the site is definitly up, it may just be online for maintenance (backup) before closing.

I hope the best, but if you have to upload some stuff, keep it on your disk in case of.

It has been up all the time, everyday I could "probe" it by IP but nothing more. It has never occurred me the local dns trick...

Well, 3 days after the dns issue the IP was unreachable for me till 2 days ago. I tried almost daily.

And it's not a hack it's just a fix for the dns issue (your computer do what the server name cannot)
