dlsite is the biggest distributor/hosting(?) that I know of for these kinds of games, just getting put on there gets them more publicity and more sales than putting it on your own site and advertising yourself. If the game is at least decent, it's most likely a net profit. And more people that see it/try it, the more it might get talked about.

however you get to choose your blog on dlsite, possibly leading people to buy it cheaper on your blog...
