Re: Rumia (cross_grave)

Rumia considered her target. A raptor, a potentially aggressive predator. Not something you normally wanted to fuck with. That being said, this one would probably sooner mate with her than eat her. It was asleep too, which made it an easier target. After considering her chances, the mage decided to claim this particular cavern. She conjured up some of the sticky fire from earlier and formed it into a projectile, lobbing it at the raptor as her opening move. She'd kill it quick and set herself up. Hell, maybe she'd even enjoy some roast dinosaur later. She was kinda curious what it'd taste like.

Re: Rumia (cross_grave)

(I guess a surprise attack bonus is in order)

Rumia would sneak up to the raptor and shockingly would decide it was a good idea to attack it. At least for now she had the initiative and would lob her newly found fireball at it. Having no way to evade it because it was sleeping the Raptor would awaken to a fiery surprise.

Rolls:
Rumia Skill: Autosuccess
Raptor: 6 - 5(-1) Rumia - Hit
Burn: Raptor - Hit

Rumia: 4(-1) - 4 Raptor - Miss
Raptor: 11 - 4(-1) Rumia - Critical
Burn: Raptor - Hit

Rumia would land her skill shot on the raptor. That was about the only thing that went right for her in this fight so far. The raptor was on top of her almost instantly. The flaming raptor would lash out and immediately home in on Rumia. The claws would slash right though her clothing. The flame seemed to do a little more damage as it continued to burn.

Rumia quite surprised with the speed of the raptor would come close but not quite, though this time she was not essentially lobbing hand grenades so close did not quite count this time around. The raptor would leap at Rumia and as she correctly predicted, the raptor was far more interested in mating her than killing her. Rumia would lose the rest of her clothing and the only thing stopping the raptor from pinning her down was the persistence of the flame that caused it to recoil backward.

Rumia would be in a tough one. Her flame having done some damage but she was already naked and knocked down on the ground. The raptor could probably kill her easily. These monsters were non-lethal however and Rumia knew it.

Re: Rumia (cross_grave)

Rumia yelled angrily as the raptor tore her clothing apart, leaving her naked. This time she'd have no easy way of fixing that, sadly. The raptor didn't stop there, however, it evaded her fireballs and sent her sprawling to the ground, nearly pinning her down. Growling, the girl tried to get back up, continuing to fire more projectiles at it. She wasn't going to let it rape her so easily, if she had to go down she'd go down fighting. Of course, she'd have preferred to not go down at all and to kill the beast, but the battle was not going well for her so far. The mage was going to fight as hard as she could - even if the beast wasn't going to kill her, in a way this was still a battle for survival.

Re: Rumia (cross_grave)

Rumia was trying to use the element of surprise to kill a raptor and claim its lair for her own. Taking on an apex predator like this was not going to be an easy task even if the creatures were non-lethal. As evidenced by the Yuan-Ti she saw earlier, they still have the same instincts that their rather lethal counterparts have. This was something Rumia may have underestimated as the raptor tore into her quite literally as it removed all but the belt around her waist reducing her clothing to ribbons.

Rumia was not going to just give herself up like this. She had to muster the will to fight back.

Rolls:
Rumia Stand: 12(-1) - 11 Stand Up
Rumia Attack: 10(-1) - 3 Rumia - Critical
Raptor: 3 - 12(-1) Rumia - Counter

Rumia Attack: 8(-1) - 4 Raptor - Hit
Raptor: 9 - 6(-1) Rumia - Hit

Rumia was not having this. The raptor looked content to start mating her, and Rumia saw it relax for just a split second. This was enough for her to make her move and get free from being underneath the raptor. Soon after the raptor made a mistake and would roast itself in Rumia's flames as it was clearly pissed off that it's prey was not willingly allowing the raptor to ravage her body.

Fairly stupidly the raptor would attempt to jump right through the flame's Rumia would cast to try to keep the thing at bay. Rumia would land another fireball on the thing as it careened into the wall of the cave with its poorly designed attack. Though Rumia would have been in trouble were it to have connected. The raptor recovered itself pretty quickly and charged back at Rumia. Lowering it's head and slamming into her shoulder as she was not quite able to get out of the way of the charging raptor.

With the battle on even footing now, Rumia might just have a chance at beating this thing.

Re: Rumia (cross_grave)

Rumia winced as she felt the raptor slam into her shoulder, spinning from the blow. She had to focus hard on maintaining balance to avoid falling down to the ground, putting a lot of effort into maintaining her balance. Cursing under her breath, she glared at the beast with murder in her eyes. It had clearly seen better days, what with it's repeated jumping into that firewall she made to hold it back and tendency to block her fireball with it's face. It still managed to stand and fight, though, suprising her with it's endurance. Clearly the enemies here were much more dangerous than in her previous adventure.

Knowing that there was no other way out of this, Rumia would resume her attack, firing pellets of fire at the raptor in an effort to bring it down. A barrage of rapid shots rather than big, slow spells, mostly on account of her own stamina which was starting to run out. She was fairly battered just like the raptor and knew that this battle could go either way. She'd have to fight hard to win this, especially since she had no idea what would happen if she lost. Being raped was a given, but would this thing try to imprison her somehow? She doubted it, but you never knew with monsters.

Re: Rumia (cross_grave)

Rumia would recover easy enough from the raptor ramming itself into her. So much so that she seemed to figure out the pattern of how the raptor would attack. Landing another very powerful blow on the raptor as it seemed to refuse to defend itself. The raptor was weak at this point and it was only a matter of Rumia finishing it off at that point, which she promptly did.

Having secured herself some food and a cave for shelter, Rumia was on her way to setting herself up for the long haul. Peeking out of the cave, Rumia could see that night was starting to fall now. She was also naked so the temperature change would affect her unless she could manage some method to repair or replace her shredded up clothing.

At least for now she had little need for food, but the real problem was going to be getting through the night. A fire was almost a neccesity, though there was nothing readily available to burn within the cave.

Re: Rumia (cross_grave)

Rumia let out a sigh of relief, collapsing to the ground as she felled the dinosaur. Sighing, she took stock of her situation. Naked, with torn clothes, ample food and water, and some shelter. Still, it was getting dark and soon it'd be rather cold in this place. She couldn't keep a fire going all night without being forced to remain awake and focused the entire time. This left the girl with little choice but to find a solution to that problem. First, she decided to sit down and rest for a bit while she worked on tying the scraps of her clothing into something that could protect her modesty a little bit, at least. Maybe there was something salvageable left.

Once that was done with, the girl set off outside for a quick trip. Her goal this time was firewood. She needed something to keep the flames going without use of magic and a couple bundles of relatively dry wood ought to do the trick. Perhaps the felled trees she ran across earlier would yield something of use to her. Once she got some fuel, she'd return to the cave and settle down for the night, eat some roast dino to keep her strenght up and go to sleep. Hopefully the other contestants were having a worse time than she was, altough she doubted one day would be enough to eliminate them all.

Re: Rumia (cross_grave)

Rumia would look over her situation, and realize the raptor did not tear up her clothing as badly as she had thought. At least she would be able to cover her womanhood with what was formerly the back of her dress. The rest of her former outfit was likely more suited to be used for kindling than anything else.

Realizing that it would be madness to keep herself up all night long, Rumia would set out to gather firewood. A task that seemed easy enough as she was in a jungle afterall. Trees were everywhere and finding enough wood that was dry was not difficult at all.

Rumia would have no problem with gathering wood or starting a fire. An hour or so would pass by and Rumia would start to fall asleep. The relative safety of taking over a raptor's cave would mean that very little would normally want to stop by and pay a visit. However Rumia would awaken and hear footsteps. As she opened her eyes, she saw a pair of animals that were interested not so much in Rumia but the remains of the raptor.

Re: Rumia (cross_grave)

Rumia had little success with restoring her clothes. She'd be able to fashion something to protect her modesty a little, but it was extremely flimsy protection. Probably better than nothing. Gathering firewood, on the other hand, had proven to be an easy enough task to accomplish. She picked a decent bundle, dragged it to the cave, started a fire to keep her warm at night, ate some baked raptor and went to sleep, satisfied that she managed to get through the first day with minimal losses.

Of course, the night wouldn't pass without incident. Rumia woke to the sound of someone or something entering the cave quietly. Glancing around, she realized it was a pair of animals of some kind, more interested in the carcass of her kill than the girl herself. She made no move, but kept a covert watch, not wanting to reveal the fact that she was awake. She'd wait to see what exactly got inside and what it really wanted before she made any other moves.

Re: Rumia (cross_grave)

Rumia would awaken, and see two catlike figures intruding on her cave. As she lay motionless trying to not disturb the beasts, she would get a better look at them as they passed near enough to the flame. A pair of ocelots would be her intruders.

They did not seem inherently interested in Rumia, however the remains of the raptor were not quite as unappealing to them. Simply tearing into the remains, they were out for food and their keen sense of smell would lead them right to the raptor. Having essentially stolen the remains of the raptor, Rumia would have the option of letting them haul off the raptor or attempting to stop it. It would require both of them to make off with their booty as they dragged it out of the cave. The real question was, did Rumia see reason enough to attempt stopping them.

Re: Rumia (cross_grave)

Rumia briefly pondered fighting the two intruders. On one hand, she'd be at a disadvantage if she failed to make them run immediately, and she wasn't sure she'd be able to fight them off. On the other hand, that was a lot of meat being stolen from her. Still, she had a few emergency rations left, enough to last her a day, and knew where she could find more game if need be. Deciding not to risk a battle with a pair of hungry predators, the girl opted to leave them be, feeling that she'd be better served by getting some rest and hunting some smaller animals tomorrow. Hell, maybe she could even look into finding some way to fish in the river for easier access to food.

Re: Rumia (cross_grave)

The ocelots would make off with Rumia's prize from the battle earlier today. They seemed interested only in the meat and left a few bones that had gotten free. Rumia decided that this was a battle not worth fighting as she had easy enough access to smaller less dangerous animals nearby at the river.

With her fire going, Rumia was able to sleep for a few hours. The cave not being the best sleeping surface, her sleep would be uneasy. Possibily the fear of another nocturnal predator paying her a visit weighed on her mind a little. All in all, about 6 hours had passed. Rumia would notice the sun had started to come up though it was not quite dawn just yet. With the fire still burning brightly, it was close to the dawn of a new day.

Rumia would then notice the bracelet flashing. It was a simple message:

5/5 competitors remain.

Re: Rumia (cross_grave)

Rumia sighed as she woke, glancing down at the bracelet's message. Five contestants remain, huh. Sadly, it seemed that no one got himself or herself in big enough trouble to fold... Or maybe they just haven't been broken yet. She'd find out later, most likely. For now, she had to get to work on securing her survival. First, she had to go and hunt down or find something to eat if possible, maybe fill up her canteen while she was at it too. After that, she'd go on a patrol of the area nearby her cave, mostly to check if there were any signs of life left by other contestants. She'd have to figure out a way to get rid of them somehow if she found them. Perhaps she could locate a trap or a den that could help her with that?

Re: Rumia (cross_grave)

Rumia would feel refreshed after a somewhat uneventful night. Aside from the pair of ocelots that had made off with her freshly killed raptor, there was little else that disturbed her. The fire was within a cave so it was not easily seen by anything passing by.

The morning would start off fairly uneventful, Rumia was looking about the immediate area around her newly established base of operations. All she would really notice was a trail leading away from her cave that was almost certainly the ocelots hauling away what was now their prized kill. Rumia could certainly investigate this further if she so desired as the markings and blood were relatively fresh and easily followed.

As Rumia were looking about for traps, she forgot that there were pressure plates as well as more organic traps. Hearing the click fast enough, Rumia was able to evade the metallic device that would have trapped her leg in place. She remembered this place from before, the trap had been reset since it was the same one she had melted her way out of before facing the raptor. Rumia was sure of it.

Re: Rumia (cross_grave)

Rumia chose to ignore the blood trails. She had no intention of fighting the ocelots last night and morning did little to convince her otherwise. Checking for nearby traps, about the only thing she managed to find so far was the bear trap from yesterday. A somewhat disappointing result. Sighing, the girl decided to hit the river again, see if she could hunt down a rabbit or something like that to eat, maybe locate some other traps or monsters that could provide her with means to dispose of her competition. She could probably bunker down and stick to her cave and it's surroundings to wait out the rest, but it'd probably pay to have something to use against them.

Re: Rumia (cross_grave)

Rumia would go down to the river with the intent to hunt some of the smaller animals for food. This fundamental idea seemed to be shared by a few other creatures as well. The Yuan-ti she was familiarized with previously seemed to be back around this area. She was well out of range of the monster though since she could see it, it was plausible that it could see her as well were it to turn around.

It seemed to be presently occupied however as it was attempting to attack a tree. The only thing Rumia was able to realize from this far away was the design of the sword was not the same as the one she dumped into the river. As she scanned around through to the other side, she could see more activity along the river bank. A pride of lions seemed to have moved into the area on the far side of the river bank. Rumia could also notice the back scales of something that was likely a crocodile that was fairly dormant at the edge of the riverbed.

Rumia could certainly pick her poison here if she liked. It would take a small miracle for her to get to the river without something engaging her. To the north of her was the engaged Yuan-ti and likely their lands. The south would be relatively unexplored as of yet though it was likely the pride of about 6 or so lions she could presently see had migrated north from that direction.

Re: Rumia (cross_grave)

Rumia considered the creatures around the place. The crocodile she ignored for the most part. If it was anything like the real one, it'd not pursue her on land, preferring to ambush animals from water. The lions she wanted to avoid - better not get mobbed by a whole pack of predators. The Yuan-ti was a curiosity, however. His weapon was one thing, but what really made the girl interested is the reason why he was attacking the tree. Figuring she could probably beat the snakeman should she be forced to fight, the girl decided to observe him, maybe even move a little closer to figure out why he was hitting the tree. Did he have problems with plant life or something?

Re: Rumia (cross_grave)

Watching over the Yuan-ti was easy enough. As she approached to a better viewing distance, it would appear that the "tree" was actually a treant. A war of sorts may have been brewing and it was likely over who had control over the area?

(On phone and rushed this a bit, sorry)

Re: Rumia (cross_grave)

Well, this was interesting. So treants were also present around here? She'd have to watch out for living trees in the future. In the meantime, Rumia decided to observe the fight, mostly to find out what sort of abilities the new monster might have and get an idea of how strong it is. Even if the winner spotted her, she'd likely be in a good position to take him - or it - down as she'd be fresh for a fight while her opponent would be tired and likely wounded. Easy prey, even with any tricks they might have.

Re: Rumia (cross_grave)

Rumia looked to put herself into position to scavenge off a kill from whatever was left of the battle between the Yuan-ti and the Treant. The battle itself seemed to rage on for quite some time as they would exchange blows back and forth. The Yuan-ti would slash at the Treant while the Treant would crash wooden branches into the snake.

A few moments later, an arrow would fly past Rumia from behind. It was not aimed at her since it was a good two feet away from her, but she felt it fly past her none the less. It would seem another Yuan-ti, this one using a bow had entered the fray. The arrows had a incendiary of some kind as the Yuan-ti started to catch fire after being struck by the arrow. Rumia was likely going to have to fight both Yuan-ti if she wanted to stick around.
