After a customary exchange of greetings, the two of them took a few steps back and the judge gave the signal to begin. At first, neither of them made a move, both settling into stances but refraining from attacking the other one. They were measuring each other, looking for openings in silence. Gren was the first to make a mistake, attempting a feint but making the move a bit too obvious, allowing Yako to react accordingly and counter with a grapple that sent the lizardgirl to the ground. However, the grin on the scaled woman's face quickly revealed that this was, in fact, a trap. As soon as her back touched the ground, she quickly twisted, pulling Yako with her and pinning her down as she got on top of the kitsune.

"Now then, I believe it is time for the final battle to begin." The dragon woman spoke, prompting Alex to stand up and give Irina a glance, smiling as he did so. "Our finalists today are Alex - who, despite his reputation of being a soft fighter, had utterly dominated his opposition in the tournament thus far - and Irina, a rookie with quite the unusual battle record who none the less has been on a quite impressive winning streak lately. Let us welcome both of them." Ran announced. "And that's our cue to go in, I guess." Alex nodded at Irina before marching towards the entrance. The applause he got seemed to almost overwhelm him for a moment, some vestiges of his previous shyness shining through, but he rallied himself in an instant and marched to the ring with confidence.
