LFTRs or "Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactors," are a type of molten salt nuclear reactor that operates under standard atmospheric pressure and obtains fuel by exposing fertile Thorium to neutrons in order to transmute Thorium into Uranium-233 which is fissile.
