Re: In today's news...

Bernie would've beaten him. The democrats did this to themselves.
A self-serving and corrupt DNC and a desperate and spineless GOP allowed this.

I honestly woke up this morning and thought I was seeing headlines from Onion articles. I'm still in disbelief.

Ah yes, liberals and progressive claiming that they represent tolerance, good morals and inclusivity. What a joke.

Well, shit. Time to move to Iceland, too close to the US right now...

Honestly though, it seems he might just be libertarian in foreign affairs (aside from Mexico), so not sure how bad it'll be outside the US. Just going from historical precedents, maybe he'll be akin to those right before the world wars (follow appeasement) or at the start of the Great Recession (utterly ineffective lol).

If US is lucky all those useless celebrities that had vowed to leave the country if Trump becomes president will truly leave and not do yet another cop-out.
Not holding my breath tho.
Look at those brainless shits-

Re: In today's news...

I got a neg rep for with "Fail to see anything wrong with what they're saying."
Now the neg rep doesn't bother me but how come this brave soul didn't say that in this thread? Not even a signature left to identify them!
What's wrong, too much of a chicken shit to stand behind people who basically say "women, vote as we say or don't vote at all" and put your nickname on an online hentai forum to it?
No doubt another open minded, progressive and tolerant "liberal".

Alright, sure. That neg rep came from me. And I absolutely agree with The Young Turks on that issue at least - a woman voting for a sexist that sees women mostly as meat and sees them as worthless if they're not pretty is blind and idiotic, and it deserves to be called out. Trump's personality will shape this government's agenda for the next four years - it would be mad to think he'd do anything to further or even just uphold women's rights.

Trump is better than Clinton for many non-USA countries, since Trump(And Bernie too for that matter) is opposed to TTIP and all those other 'trade treaties' that remove a country's ability to properly legislate things like environmental protection and workers rights.
A thing Clinton backed almost religiously since it started. The immediate effect for people around the world is already positive.

So for Europe and South America, it's a dodged bullet and we thank America for picking the guy who doesn't want to turn over the world to big businesses.
The stock market hated you for it, because of course they do, but they'll get back up after they had their tantrum. Just like they did with Brexit's vote.

Speaking of which, Brexit may be blocked by (Parts of) the British government, so it may not even happen. It has to go through the house of lords, and the house of lords has a very clear majority pro-EU

Edit: Aside from that, instant relations boost with Russia. WW3 avoided.

If the House of Lords blocks it, they'll prove the leave party right, and it'll be political suicide. I'm gonna assume they are savvy enough to realize this.

Hey, didn't it cross your mind that women, being the independent thinking creatures they are, know as much about Trump as you do and decided that- gasp- he's not sexist or the monster the media has painted?
Leftist propaganda has been throwing bs titles, -ism and -phobes onto anyone who doesn't tow the party line. What a shocker that after all this time people got tired of it and are no longer buying it.
"I'm a tolerant and open minded individual, if you don't agree with me you're racist, sexist, xenophobic, islamophobic, white supremacist and a bigot"- almost every lefty during this election, you included obviously.

Not sexist? Mister "Grab them by the pussy" not sexist? Mister "Blood coming out of her wherever"? Are you seriously buying his "locker room talk" excuse?

Re: In today's news...

Funny thing, pretty sure if we asked those enlightened liberals what they think of ulmf users we all would get labelled as sexists. Dangerous at that, playing games where 2d girls get raped? Whoa!
Check this- sexist is as sexist does. Same goes for any other isms. If all you got on his sexism is that he says thing most men say to their other male buddies then wooptie fucking doo, you're probably looking at around ~90% of male population. And female too, let's not kid ourselves.
Now if I wanted to see if he's REALLY sexist I'd go about it by checking how his female workers are treated, are they paid the same for the same job as men and what do they have to say about him but that's just crazy me.

Re: In today's news...

I don't talk like that. My brothers, my father don't talk like that. My acquaintances and friends don't talk like that. If that is how you, Johnny, talk to your buddies, you are just as deplorable and sleazy as Trump and I no longer wish to talk to you. Have a nice day.

Re: In today's news...

You've no idea how your dad talked to your buddies in a locker room. Go to your safe space and jerk off to the thought of being smarter and more educated than people who dared to vote for someone you didn't want, you brave hero you.
And don't forget more neg rep, it feels sooo good on my grabbed pussy.

I've been holding off the EU topic, partly from laziness, partly from feeling a tad... indifferent, all the BS going on either side.

Yah, there are two Political Masterminds in particular, one is known as Nick Clegg, who was the leader of the Liberal Democrats and former Deputy Prime Minister, lead his party of 68-ish Members of Parliament to... 8, doesn't like the result and is seeking to overturn it. Despite his own constituency having a 56% leave-vote.

...And Ed Miliband, good lord, same as above, lead his party into growing irrelevance, paved the way for Jeremy Corbyn, doesn't like the result and wishes to over-turn it despite his constituency having a 69% leave-vote.

Point being, you'd think that those who lecture the 'ignorant, un-wise and poorly informed people' (actually said by one figure or another of those who voted either-way, especially those who voted to leave) about democracy would respect the vote, and I do mean truly respect the vote, would act to make it happen and do the best they can to get the best they can, even out of a situation that the Government literally had no plans for.

Reality ensues and it seems that certain individuals in higher-office who receive information in narrow channels still think they know better than the buggers who merely work in the streets, shops, docks and what-not to keep the UK afloat, or bits of it anyway.

Actual edit; Eh, above kinda lurks towards the lack of consideration and reasoning that seems to be lacking an awful lot during disagreements, a tad saddening.

House of Lords is appointments for life

They don't have to worry about political suicide or not getting reelected.
They'll seriously piss off the population, but they won't get voted out and most consequences won't hit them

You forgot to mention not causing a second [not-so] cold war which would've happened with Clinton's marvellous idea of creating a no fly zone over syria... where currently the only fuckers flying are russian fighter bombers.
Russia's probably not forgotten about NATO member turkey shooting down one of their planes and the pilot getting beaten and butchered by turkish backed syrian rebels.
