If there are any LGBT people reading this comment, I want you to know that I deeply sympathise with your situation and you can drop me a private message and vent your frustration anytime. There are also articles on what you should do, now that Trump/Pence will work to remove a lot of the rights and legal protections you've gained in the last ten years.

This article has advice especially for trans people:

Others: feel free to move along.

Trump's not even sworn into office yet, and already the scum is coming out of the woods.

THIS is what happens when you elect a person that ran on hate and division. It signals these people that behaviour like this is okay and normal. You're going to see a lot more of that in the coming days.

Re: In today's news...

For a little while, definitely. I think it'll burn down though. Much like the left will have to chill out a bit, the opposite side needs to as well. Emotions have been running high for two years, it was going to get ugly no matter who won. These people wouldn't have faded into the ether if Trump had lost. If anything they may have been even worse as they felt cheated and then lashed out at the perceived causes.

The incidents will spike then will fall off eventually once the energy dies down more. Attention seeking, assholes, the occasional hoax, and a few serious crimes will pop up until it does. There isn't much one can do about it but exercise your rights under the law against it.

Re: In today's news...

I kinda feel like SOME of the racism is being mis-represented here.

I mean, I see it as the inevitable blowback from BLM's actions.

And yeah, alot of this is people having fun at the expense of "precious snowflakes" (yeah, you're asking for people to give you shit if all you do is bitch about how you're special and must be praised for it). But I still think we should take precautions, given the climate our country is in it wouldn't take much to spark some pretty bad riots.

People have already been caught faking racist attacks by 'Trump supporters', so of course it becomes difficult to figure out which are real and which aren't.

I'm sure some are true, but the fact people are faking will cast doubt on them all.

Re: In today's news...

How the hell can you have over 700 posts and STILL be this bad at English?

Also, finally got around to reading that marysue article. I... wow. Just wow. That is some crazy fear mongering right there. Sure things aren't going to get better for you all, but the way that article is worded it's as if they believe government agencies are going to start going openly going down the road, kicking in doors, dragging people out and executing them in the streets. They might WANT to, but we haven't reached that point in time where the majority of the population will allow such a thing.

I see your images, and raise you video:

I always notice that when people who say they were attacked by or something was vandalized by Trump supporters or "right-wingers," all we usually have to go by is their word, or images of the supposed aftermath. But when people accuse BLM, "left-wingers," democrats or other progressively aligned people of attacking and/or destroying thing/people, they have video of them caught in the act. It's funny how that works.

I'mma leave you with a BONUS VID. I've posted this vid in the the thread before, but it's worth rubbing in the faces of people like you.

Re: In today's news...

Just watched the second video.

Wow. Just...

Scenarios like that can happen either side, and this one situation shouldn't characterise all supporters of either candidate, or any such cause... but it does a depressingly effective job of displaying the breath-taking hypocrisy of, hopefully, none-too-many individuals who claim to be tolerant and value democracy with all it's virtues, like being able to listen to and watch a person rise up in-front of you, speak something that is the antithesis of your core-beliefs and do nothing to silence their right to free-speech, instead reasonably and logically argue against such a opposing view-point... but in reality demonstrate little more than barely (or slightly-physically) restrained contempt and hatred of those whom display anything other than mild, self-congratulatory head-bobbing and agreement, without at the very least trying to understand the underlying reasons for such a differing opinion.

We've had much the same in the UK regarding 'Brexit'.

From what I have read and heard, and this isn't simply personal, subjective feeling but thought-out observations gathered and condensed; If you disagree with being a part of a purely political establishment of nations, in the name of liberal democracy commanded by a Commission with few oversights and less accountability, you're racist, perhaps sexist, isolationist, backwater, ill-educated neanderthals who are 'lacking wisdom in making such a great decision'.

The last bit was actually said by one David Attleborouh, also one MP stood up in Parliament and said much the same; going on to further add that 'Brexit was merely and advisory vote and that MP's, as well informed as they are, should be the ones to decide.' In other-words the vote of, not just Leave or Remain, but both sides, that is at least 34.4+ million people, are not capable of making a decision that affects them, and therefore don't need to be listened to or at least, taken too seriously. Ironically the very thing that played a strong roll in both nation-changing decisions, UK or US.

The rest? I'll let you decide. It's... a tad unfair, and wrong-headed and if I spouted the notion that anybody who voted to Remain within a anti-democratic, entirely political organization suffered from a severe case of Stockholm-syndrome whom are naive, poorly informed fools that feel our own Home-Nation is simply too weak to do anything without the EU's righteous hand to guide us... I'd be rightly deserved to be laughed at and discredited. Then branded with various '-ists' and part of/advertised various '-isms'. And then, if one dared to grace mainstream social-media, probably given numerous death/rape threats.

The last bit isn't so much 'rightly deserved' as is 'the norm' thrown around by individuals whom are lacking in arguments gifted with the minimal amount of common sense and substance.

Bit of a tangent there, not too sorry.

Also, news! The US' decision has... suffice to say, upset the EU leaders, who reacted with dismay and bitterness towards a massive nation that spends 3.8 of it's own GDP funding defence and stumping something like over 50% of... NATO's budget. Today it was shown, re;NATO, the obligation to spend at least 2% of the GPD on defence is more or less only done by UK and maybe another. Greece spends 1.5% GPD on defence, with France and Germany spending something like 0.8% and 1.2% respectively, hopefully that's right. Happy to rely on our friendly American cousins rather than cough up more money for their own defences, especially the countries closest or even bordering Russian presence.

Also the pound's value has shot up, with suggestions that the UK will have a significantly stronger leverage in negotiating ourselves with the EU.

More importantly, Armistice day. Respectful two minutes of silence held at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of the year. God bless the men and women present and past who served and lost their loves to protect our nations.

Strawman: In the video, the attackers don't identify as BLMs and are just as likely to be plain disgruntled black people. They also don't attack the man because of his race or sexuality.
I need to stress that this is still horrible, but it's the level of volatile aggressiveness I've come to expect from American politics these last two years. And Trump is extremely unlikely to try and reach across the aisle to bridge these chasms in your society. He doesn't strike me as that kind of guy.

As for "rubbing it in the face of people like me," you might have overlooked that I AM GERMAN. Your political climate isn't mine. Your left aren't my left, and these people in your "bonus vid" need to be punished by the law just as much as the racists and sexists in the examples I provided.

BLM dindu nuffin!

Meanwhile, those awful *white* *women* are at it again!

And here I thought being racist and sexist is bad.

Clearly no wrong tactics, only wrong targets.

*looking at what happen within 2 days at Indonesia and America* ...
can you still says the same thing like before ?
because what I see, everything seems like getting closer to hell than before ...
(blaming each other, pointing violence to each other, eventually causing self destruct or pointing it at other country)
and if not human who make hell, it will be mother nature who will make it ... (at other country)

The latest news from Indonesia ...
a lot of blaming goes around and around ...
even FPI throwing their suing to Ahok because Antasari mentioning about his jailing case, and people start to make anger to FPI and SBY ...
(heck, they are the one who throw the first stone and now asking it to get stopped ? should wait until Trump get angry and nuke this country first)
Chinese temple also get bombed and the criminal is in hunt ... (Islam at that place get separated at few group and now blaming each other)
President and army feels like on high end with "The People's Consultative Assembly" ... and the supporter might cause major chaos over this ...

... Your reading comprehension level, increase it. I was specifically referring to the article targeted at the lbgt (did I forget a letter?) community of the U.S.

Also, you seem to be under the impression that the situation in the U.S. bares some resemblance to the one in Indonesia. It does not, we have yet to start executing people publicly for political dissent (Trump talks a lotta shit, but no, he can't actually do that).

by 50% - 75% ...
Police at Jakarta mostly close to Ahok since he give more freedom to patrol and searching all area in Jakarta (not to mention Police HATES FPI since several clash at past FPI actually KILL Police, but some higher up don't want FPI get investigated)

It's generally LGBTQ. Though I have seen GLBTQ and various other version. Most common is still the first I mentioned, though I think everyone will know what you mean with LGBT.

I'm all for a good trolling, but JESUS CHRIST, MAN! You're a CEO! How could you have not known this would be the outcome of your social media posts?

Strawman: In the video, the attackers don't identify as BLMs and are just as likely to be plain disgruntled black people. They also don't attack the man because of his race or sexuality.

I implied that the people in the video were likely Hillary voters. They were, at least anti-Trump. When I brought up BLM, I was bringing them up as a general example of leftist hypocrisy. I think you are projecting when you say "strawman."

The examples you provided all could be false. XSI even posted tweets of the PD from that area that discredit it. The Wikileaks Email leaks and ProjectVeritas footage will forever cast doubt on any accusation against Trump or people on the right in general, plus the counter-tweets. The footage I have shows that people who are so left-leaning that they will attack anyone who disagrees with them actually exist.

As far as I know, most of the people who attack people because of their race and sexuality are people on the left:

The reason I have a problem with people like you is that people like you apologise for, and help spread the kind of lies and rhetoric that embolden and justify violent actors in the left. Do you even remember what you said in the post I responded to?
[Trump] ran on hate and division.
How? Aren't you the one being needlessly divisive? When people constantly yell "racist" and "sexist" to silence political opponents, it hurts the power of those words. Better yet, we now have dudes like Millenial Woes who actually admit to being racist and are growing in popularity.

Now when someone gets called one of these buzzwords, there are people who think: "Well if these SJWs hate him enough to call him racist/sexist/ect he might have a good point." All people like you had to do was to not reinforce the chorus of buzzwords with your apologia. All people like you had to do was not dehumanize people who oppose you idealogically by calling them racists and sexists. Now the backlash growing. But I'm cool with it, this particular back doesn't seem prone to starting mobs and setting shit on fire.

it's the level of volatile aggressiveness I've come to expect from American politics these last two years.
