Re: Hate Thread

Whats going on..

Ah one of those guys.
See, discarding the horrible grammar, anyone that actually finished a game can tell you that thats utter nonsense.

I hate these kinda guys to bring it back to the topic, got no problem with people being new to gamemaking and sucking at it, being way too overoptimistic, but when you already put up a patreon page without knowing if you can deliver you crossed over from 'dumb and blue eyed' to 'arrogant and greedy'

I spent three months before even releasing my first games demo, and compared to the remastered version now that still was garbage, because gamemaking is.. a little more complicated than everyone thinks.
Yeah... you realize that it's not as much similar to software development as you may think (especially when working solo).
You start doing things and then realize some other, to the point when it's better to test waters than jumping head on and breaking a neck.

I hate when reality pokes you in the eye to remind you, not everything is fun and games. :p

Fuck all remakes in general. Whenever they remake some sorta classic movie or game or whatever I liked they end up fucking it up. Heck, League of legends proved that you can even mess up a remake of individual aspects of a game.

By the way, check out The Last Demonhunter Remastered on my blog, link in sig!

I'm just going to randomly quote you ;) . There's nothing wrong with Remakes in general. As long as they stick to the classical elements which made the original great in the first place.

Yeah, when you just sit there like some kind of blood keg with its tap leaking while they fill vial after vial?

Actually I'm perfectly okay with that, I just wanted to get that metaphor out there.

But if the original was great in the first place, why remake it?

Re: Hate Thread

Because sometimes the original becomes extremely outdated. As an example I point to the Ducktales remake.

Or unavailable/unknown to the current generation of gamers. Although, then they could just do a HD remaster like Square Enix enjoys doing...

The Monkey Island remake was pretty well done, swapped out some non-PC language in it as well.

Make me a chrono trigger and cross remake square. I hate that you remake the games people did ask for on the wrong system.

Firefox crashed so hard I lost all my hundreds of bookmarks. FFFS, I needed to clean it sure but now I've lost like several dozen tumblr art blogs and various other forums I admittedly didn't visit often but wanted to keep track of. And history was cleared as well to further throw middle fingers.

I hate hate HATE moving. Seriously, I've moved way too many times in the past 7 years. Just moved into another apartment today. I plan on staying here for as long as possible.. I don't think my furniture can survive another trip on the box truck. Currently am freezing my ass off on my bedroom floor because I have no idea what box has my bedding in it.. Fuck. Moving.

You shut your whore mouth about Ducktales.

I feel like we have to distinguish remakes and reboots. The Ducktales example above is a reboot because it involves a new take on an old concept, whereas the Monkey Island was a remake for largely technical reasons. I sympathize with the point of making a product accessible to new generations, though, but that's not really comparable to reshooting an entire movie with new actors and new soundtrack and whatever, it's more akin to rereleasing Casablanca on Blu-Ray and digitally touching up some dodgy shot that wouldn't have been obvious in older, low-fi images.

Re: Hate Thread

Extreme cuckolds and "cuck-queens" in reality. It's one thing to play with a fantasy or idea, it's another to literally redefine your relationship in a way that degrades and objectifies one party to a vile extent for no benefit other than a "humiliating thrill" to the submissive of the party, who will generally be a shy or weak-willed male who either hasn't come into his own yet or just happens to have low self-esteem.

In a dominant/submissive relationship, if you engage in the... *deeper* levels of the various themed kinks, one might realize that some of the stuff at the deeper ends of the pool are actually legitimately dangerous and life-altering; Whether it's body-modification at the surgically invasive level, or violent BDSM in which a submissive lives out his ultimate fantasy of having his testicles removed in public (True story).

Just as with the physical fetishes, the psychological fetishes can get rather disturbing the further into it you explore. Whether it's furries who can't get aroused without involving an actual feral representation of an animal in their fantasy (And therefore are unable to express themselves sexually outside of porn and masturbation without committing to animal abuse), or indeed cuckolding itself, which in the mild sense is an okay voluntary fetish, but when taken to it's extremes (As so often fetishes are), it's undeniably abusive and cruel to the submissive in the triangle pretty much every time, and the kicker is that it pretty effectively has them deluding themselves into thinking everything is okay even though they spend most of their free time upset.

When one is intentionally made to feel upset a large amount of the time, in combination with repeated attacks on their self-esteem keeping them feeling like they aren't good enough to accomplish anything better or ever join a functional relationship, that's called emotional abuse. In regards to romantic relationships, particularly in a co-habitative environment, it's more specifically domestic abuse. Good luck proving that one in court though

See, if you were really into the messed up stuff you'd have brought the example of a dude that wanted to eat another dude.. all voluntarily of course.

That said, interesting implications, really, should a dominant that finds themselfs with a submissive with a fetish that can only be satisfied through emotional abuse demand of the sub to seek out psychological aid? I believe yes. Should they stop once thats achieved? I believe no, after all, indulging in a fetish is often still better than repressing it.. graaanted, with the afformentioned critical examples thats hard, but I come from the perspective that a dom/sub relationship should be a roleplay turned real to some degree and that degree should never be 100%, or to be more direct, no matter how big she, or he is into rape fantasies, if they ask you not to do something outside of the scenario, you try to comply.

Same to me should then apply to the cuck a holdin' fantasies, the dom still needs to be loving and nurturing -outside- of the fantasy, even if they share it. What if the fantasy is supposed to touch all aspects of life? Well, do you see 'normal' couples kissing and handholding all the time? Frankly, I find that more erotic too, the idea that a perfectly loving and bland seeming public relationship could turn into the submissive stripping half naked and kneeling as soon as you get home from.. grocery shopping or whatever, is much more appealing to me than someone running around with O rings in their ears and nose and a leash up their butt.
