Thanks Bab, your wonderful contribution is spectacular as always, whine about the chorus while adding to it, what a guy.

Re: Malise and the Machine - Public Demo Available Now!

Your $3 is nothing to you, it's nothing for them, but there are very small patreons for who it's a lot ;)

BTW, I consider my game good not only because it's my game but also because I would have got a lot more patrons than them if I didn't decide to finish it
I generally don't just use ULMF as a place to find or discuss patreon stuff I just normally speak in the thread for this one if I ever have anything to say because it is aside from I guess the gated updated that are far beyond what I consider worth paying given the progress that has been shown the only place that anyone from Ero's team shows up at

I did look at your page and it does look good but it just didn't really capture my interest sorry, and thats largely the problem with a lot of smaller or other patreons that I have looked at. the ones that I did support are the few that I really liked what I saw and even then when I didn't have any money coming in I started dropping them down to all but a few that I was most interested in and now down to just 2 because even though I have money again now I looked back at most of the ones I was supporting for mostly small amounts and the lack of progress on their parts made me not think it was worth my money resupporting them.

the only reason I am still hanging on with MatM is that once they do update if it isn't the step forward in performance, appearance etc they keep promising I am just going to drop them and tell everyone I know who is interested in their project to just wait until the game finally releases sometime in the distant future.

and I don't disagree that there are good patreon projects to back just that more and more are simply turning it into welfare systems for their since there is no incentive to actually finish, it makes it harder for the creators who do update and keep to a schedule because of the loss of trust in the system and anyone using it at least for this kind of work.

I guess we needed a third wheel to point out the obvious.

It's funny because he's always whining about patreons too.
And sure enough, even when the obvious is pointed out we can trust Bab Peeg to still be blind to it.

Bab, you're a hypocrite, you come here every time to do the exact same thing, do not contribute to anything but senseless whinging about the fact that where issues persist, discussion about those issues will follow.

YOU do not add anything, YOU only whine about the fact that problems aren't merely ignored.

And in your head it seems we are the same, so caught up in your own drivel that you cannot even note the difference which is so readily apparent even a child wouldn't mistake it.

Yes. problems are ongoing, and it only stands to reason that discussion regarding those problems is also ongoing, that there are people that will merely post nonsense like "herp derp patron does it again durrrp" does not excuse your appalling behavior, which is no less than the exact same abhorrent whining.

Re: Malise and the Machine - Public Demo Available Now!

I'll wager a guess and say he is referring to a hyperbolic curve, which, as far as we can tell is accurate. Eromancer's last post promising more information on a coming blog post was nearly a month ago, the last actual blog post more than a month ago, so a statement along the lines of "sometime in the future" nearly a month after the last similar statement might just rub people the wrong way.
I know what you were trying to say, but to be fair, last blogspot post was promising more info "as soon as there is a confirmed date for v0.06" - this date is not yet confirmed, so no promise was broken.

@sanguis3k
Every time there was something tangible to show, it was shown. Even though my work is usually not really visual, you could/can take a gander at the result of my work in the April monthly update. Shame you feel that all this is not enough proof of things getting done. I can only hope that somewhere along the line MatM will (re)spark your interest/excitement/faith.

Hey Altair,

Those overhauls to the engine, redoing the animations and art for the overhaul, and finalizing the story all sound wonderful, and really show how committed you are to making the best game you possibly can. It is completely understandable that you don't have much or any actual new game content to show off.

Now, you're under zero obligations to change things up- your patreon is working well for you, and you have lots of funds coming in from loyal patrons as it is. However, I was a patron at the $3 tier right after the latest demo dropped, up until I stopped pledging about two months back. That was in no way spiteful, I figured you were working on some 'boring' behind the scenes stuff and I was going to re-pledge whenever the next demo hits. No harm no foul, really.

But what one of the users dropped here about all the info the inner circle are getting, personally I love following all of that kinds of development, and boring stories about having to completely re-write RPGMaker, and having to agonize over re-doing all this work you've already done, etc. I just felt like us patrons at the lower tiers weren't getting enough info to keep me interested, just a monthly blurb about how more great changes are coming. A lot of the info that gets freely shared with the inner circle, I don't see why that got withheld from your other patrons who are still doing their part to fund the game. Again, you do you, but many other devs reserve higher tiers for raffles, exclusive votes, etc.

Anyways, I just felt I had to drop my two cents, considering all the backlash you've been getting here.

I kind of assumed that Onyx was just another Malise costume, at first glance. Her design is AWESOME though.
Thanks for keeping us up on the technical imporvements, too. The engine and mechanics are even more interesting then the porn, to me. It'll be amazing if you wind up selling or leasing this engine to other developers!

No her design isn't awesome. It's fucking the same. It's a third character and it's, yet again, a bimbo with watermelon tits. Would it kill them for some variety, especially since they have two of those already? Someone more svelte, or fit, or athletic or literally anything else?

Well personal I like the new character's design. :3
Besides the Artist has to draw his own art and what he enjoys. You can't force the artist to draw things that he doesn't like to draw. Besides their are plenty of games out their that are lolis or less mature women only to play with. So for I like the game and will await for the next update before passing some judgement.

@sanguis3k
No worries! I completely appreciate your honesty. I know it's been an uphill battle for patrons since the last release. Nobody said the ride would be smooth; statistics prove that. There will be peaks and valleys, and I know that the cure to the valleys isn't to talk about stuff but to make good on expectations and come through with results.

I'm really confident the quality of v0.06 will be readily noticeable to everyone, and will quell a lot of fears surrounding the misconception that things have stalled. Beyond that, once the fruits of AltairPL's labors with the new engine are realized it will be a lot easier to believe that all of the back end work we've been doing is legit.

The constant analogy to the Breeding Season team is a bad one however. Our team is bigger and more skilled than ever, and that'll be obvious once we are back to putting out content on the regular. As I've said before: the only time to worry will be the day when I say "oh damn, we can't do this." Which, frankly, isn't in my personality.

Fuck off, Fenoxo.

Back on topic...

1) Breeding Season comparisons need to die. Just because it was the largest (known) project to fail doesn't mean it was the only one. That also doesn't mean that all projects on patreon or elsewhere are bound to fail, but there also needs to be people on both sides that have to accept the possibility. Will MatM fail despite the devs giving their word? Maybe. I don't know. All we can do is keep an eye on things.

Also, if you're not satisfied with how the driver is driving the damn bus, you don't need to ride it. The complaints, discussions, etc about progress (or a therein lack of) have been done to death. Stop beating the dead horse. It's basically mulch at this point.

2) Unless you're contributing a substantial amount of money to have a say in game design, complaining about the design of a new character is wholly pointless. The devs while obligated to produce a quality product, are under no requirement to make the game how you want it. If that were the case, the concept of "genre" wouldn't be a thing. Maybe the design appeals to you, and maybe it doesn't.

If the design turns you off and you're contributing, I would say complain with your wallet. If nothing changes, then maybe it's not for you. This sense of entitlement for contributing a few dollars to a project is almost hilariously-pathetic as the devs who feel entitled to money before delivering a higher-quality product (with cg's no less). Both sides are to blame for the current state of development.

a) The developers for not fully anticipating the scope of what goes into a game or the amount of time it would take to put things together.
b) The people donating to the project who have no amount of self-restraint or perspective on how long quality takes to produce.

If there are no new updates for the game, PLEASE DO NOT BUMP THE THREAD. Seriously, if you think progress is too slow, message the devs directly or just withdraw your contribution until progress is made.

Also, I don't mind the balloon-tits bimbo design. I would love some mind control elements, though. Probably not gonna see any, but blah blah wishful thinking.

Don't tell me how to live.
It's a discussion forum, not your personal echochamber. If the progress is so slow you could say it's glacial, we can and will beat the dead horse until it's pulp and then some. When their choice of content is rendered CG's brushed with PS anyone who even dabbled with this shit could tell you, that the moment they have their models they should be able to pump out art assets like there's no tomorrow compared to the "classic" (i.e. drawn) approach. But even when they were still releasing demo's, simple stuff like alternative scenes for costumes were still placeholders. Changing engine (which is another can of worms) is one thing, art asset production is another. One doesn't interfere with another. And yet, it's not reflected in the updates or the demos. At this point one's willingness to trust a dev like that should ran out the door screaming months ago.

Also, if you're not satisfied with how the driver is driving the damn bus, you don't need to ride it.
Sure, but if the way the driver is driving the damn bus negatively skews the perception of other, normal bus drivers and his passengers are like: "NOTHING IS HAPPENING HERE, ALL ABOARD THE FIRE DEATH BUS OF CARNAGE" you're within your right to say to a potential passenger "Hey, you might want to take the next one, at least until they fix the brakes."
Since you like metaphors, I added a hyperbole as well.

Well i know the last comment on July but because i'm not a donator so i post on this forum:
While i don't mind with your sex scene design but did you have any plan to change it Eromancer, i mean the sex scene is pretty static, i hope you and your team have plan to change it more dynamic with animation. But if it is out of reach so i don't mind much, you and your team have been doing a great work

Well that is all, thank you so much if you read this post ^^

Eromancer's patreon has come under review by the "Trust and safety team". I'm suspecting the patreon probably violated the adult content guidelines in some way :D. Although I can't be sure about the exact shutdown reason, I am willing to bet that the development is now permanently banned from Patreon. They have been pretty lax so far to ban adult content creators, which is funny considering their dumb-ass CEO went on the Rubin Report and explicitly stated that they don't allow porn on their site. Then again, why raise a stink when you can make money. The patreocalypse is still coming though and all patreon-creators should prepare to get banned as well. Anyways, I wonder where Malice and the Machine will end up now?

Hey guys!

Yeah, it's related to the nature of the adult content. I'm working with Patreon to meet their compliance changes for the page.

Of course, this comes at a bad time for us since we're about on the verge of announcing the next version. I know those that haven't been with us on Patreon have been in the dark for awhile. This is something I really wanted to reveal publicly at the appropriate time with all the bells and whistles, but the next version will feature a reworked (and from the feedback we've gotten heavily improved) graphics style, widescreen format, and a host of other improvements. .

The project and team size has grown to the point that funding is a must (despite what some may believe, I haven't been taking any pay for a few months now -- literally all revenue and then some is going right back into the game), so we're obviously going to comply with any measures Patreon wants us to. As a contingency we've been looking at other avenues for funding, including making a less intense version of the game for funding purposes (something that's popular on Steam apparently). I'm also looking at Enty, though I don't know the specifics regarding international creators yet.

My main reason for bringing this to your attention is that even though we've been out of the public eye for awhile while we take the project to the next level, I want you guys to be aware that we've been working tirelessly since the last release, and intend to continue doing so as long as there's a way.
