This is pretty amusing, as pornhub has statistics on it's users, and that because of the whole "tracer pose" debacle, it seems to have simply ramped up people's objectification of her. Still, it looks like animated erotica is becoming more "closet" accepted.

It's basically the Streisand effect at work. It was pretty predictable, really. Trying to censor her pose was literally the fastest way to make sure she would be sexualized as much as possible elsewhere.

Eh, if they'd be cool with that, they wouldn't have given StudioFOW so much trouble with their Warcraft movie.

I'm not surprised a lot anymore, but the searches for minecraft porn actually surprised me.

I can only imagine minecraft porn would be mostly for people who are into flat girls. Even with clever texturing it's pretty hard to design a girl with big... blocks...

Well some people are too childish to understand that erotic actions and poses can be perfectly innocent. I mean, the same people who argue that women should be able to dress as provacatively as possible are the ones who are arguing that Tracer's "sexy butt pose" was sexist, it's only natural that people would rail against their unreasonable demands, that were caved into by spineless publishers.

The worst part about it, is that the subtlety of the pose was actually really cute in it's mildness, now the alternative that's been pushed forward is this incredibly over the top "put a nose hook on her face and pour semen down her nostrils!" ultra fetish porn full of dickgirls, furries, and farting enemas. But sorry, putting your hand on your hip while looking backwards is too demeaning and gross sillyboiz xDDD :D :p   !11!1!1

Yeah, I'm not sure if you really made any effort to comprehend the discussion, because tyour entire post is based on strawmen.

Quite.

Extra Credits did an episode on the Tracer debacle, and the way they presented how and why the change came about makes a ton of sense. The gist of it was that the pose in question was more out of character than sexist, and Blizzard agreed. Point of reference: Widowmaker has nearly the exact same pose, and no one's blowing a gasket over it.

How someone stands isn't "against their character"

Yeah, I can't accept "it's out of character" for something as simple as a single pose. Hell, you could say that it adds to her character. People argue things like "but she's silly and fun loving" so? You can be silly, fun loving, and also sexy. Being sexy is not an identity unto it's self that excludes all other personality traits.

Re: Clever title about Overwatch Porn News Article

I don't even find either of the poses sexual to even begin with, the part that irked me about it was that they changed it based on a single player's opinion. If a majority of the vocal fanbase had gone up in arms over it, then sure. It'd be understandable, their clients don't like what they're doing with the character and so they're doing something to try and appease them. This was just one person in one thread in which most other posters were disagreeing with them if I remember correctly. Then with the magic words of one parent, the pose gets replaced.
Of course, I don't play and probably never will, so my opinion on the matter isn't that important

Wouldn't be the first time 1 person manages to make a big deal out of something that no one really cares about. I can for example name quite a few things that's gotten censored in Sweden due to 1 single individual claiming they're offended over something.
It's no wonder Sweden (and possibly the rest of the world) has gone to shit when the opinion of 1 "upset" citizen weights greater than the entire population.

Actually, they were looking at changing it already. The devs were pretty eh on the whole pose to begin with. They didn't feel like it fit the character either. And honestly, they're right. Not in that it was too "sexy" or whatever, it didn't feel silly enough for me. I like the new one a lot more.

That's the first I've heard of it. If that is the case, then this comes down to a massive miscommunication on the side of the blizzard employee that posted in the thread. It's possible that they might have just said that as damage control, but it's also equally likely that the guy posting didn't even think that the post might be taken differently than they thought. Personally, the new pose seems kind of ehh, though. Seems stiff and awkward to hold(tried it myself, there's a reason why the model in the pinup it was based off was resting her knee on something)
Of course, since it's a still shot pose(as far as I know) there's not much to do about it. However if it was an animated pose and there was a bit in there with her starting to lose her balance and regaining it, that'd be a 10/10 pose that I'd be perfectly fine with

I agree, there was some massive miscommunication going on here

ugh, aint that the truth. If it were an intro pose for the Play of the Game with her falling over or like what you said, I'd love it. As it is, I like it. (as a side note, I'm baffled as to why they though native american motif skins for an egyptian character was a good idea, but thats a whole 'nother gripe of mine)
