Description of Gameplay:

Yamizome Revenger is about 50% visual novel, and 50% realtime JRPG.

The Demon King Clivehertz is defeated, and travels to Earth to gain a new body. He assimilated the body-and-soul of the hentai-protagonist Kazunori. However, Clivehertz has noticed that Kazunori is somewhat useful, and thus gives him a set time (10 days at first, then 15, then 30) to help him defeat the 5 heroines who destroyed Clivehertz's original demon lord body. Each of these days play out in a typical Visual-Novel style: with 2 sections of the weekdays given to talking with Kazunori's classmates (who each have received the spirit of one of the 5 heroines). You also have 1-evening portion where battles occur, and finally 1-rest phase to recover HP and gain skills. The daytime visual novel elements reveal the worries of the classmates, which ultimately lead to the weaknesses of the 5 heroines.

1636504733293.png

At night, Clivehertz seeks out the heroines to do battle. Clivehertz has 3 customizable "decks", and will automatically perform the skills associated with the current deck. The player can switch between the 3 decks using the mouse-scroll wheel.

1636504810579.png

Once enough damage is dealt to the heroine, the "Taunt" portion of the game pops up.

1636504905553.png

Taunts cost "Zone Control". The "Zone" is basically a reality-marble from Fate/Stay or Tsukihime. Its an area where the heroines have warped reality and control it, thereby manifesting their powers. Clivehertz is an adept Zone user himself however. The more "Zone Control" the player has, the more damage you do to the heroines, and the less damage you take from them.

Now these "Taunts" cost Zone Control. A 30% taunt will turn your 80% control into 50% control, causing you to take more damage in the long term. However, with enough taunts, you "corrupt" the Heroine's soul gem. Once corrupted, the heroine loses all of her strength, and the H-scenes begin.

1636505080847.png

That being said: only with the proper taunt can you ever truly corrupt a soul gem. To find these taunts, you must play out the Visual-Novel portion of the game (basically click on the exclamation mark (!!) activities). Only these special taunts can progress the heroines to the next "stage" of corruption.

As expected: each heroine has a set number of matches. Once "fully corrupted", they can be recruited to aid you in other battles (basically counting as one more skill-slot, chosen at random however based on the heroine's skill-set). Collecting all CG's is a bit tedious, but I've completed enough of the game to write a walkthrough (I'll make a separate post for the walkthrough / strategy details).

------------

The JRPG / Deckbuilding portion is pretty simple. Decks initially consist of only 2 skills, so "deck" is probably the wrong word to use here (but hey, that's what the game calls them). The "top" of the deck is always prioritized, so if you have 3 different skills fully charged, the "top" of the deck always executes first. Most skills has an active time, charge time, damage, and 'Zone Control' associated with it (exception: passive skills, which only provide a passive buff like +HP or +Defense).

Gaining "Skill Points" during the rest phase allows you to choose one "base skill" to upgrade. The "base skills" are unlocked by getting attacked by the heroines. The more times the heroines attack you, the sooner you can use those attacks. (Not all heroine skills can be yours, only some of them. Heroines of course keep their best skills for themselves). As such, "Hard Mode" (where more powerful skills are used) allows you to collect better base skills.

1636505652601.png

You have a deck for each heroine. You can upgrade decks to either have more "cost", or more "slots". You can have up to 5 slots per deck, though you'll need multiple playthroughs to get enough Expansion Points to upgrade your deck that far up. Decks by default have 8 cost, with better skills using more "cost" than others.

----------------------------------

Fetishes: Harem, Corruption, Rape, Wholesome / Vanilla, Yuri. Borderline NTR (Clyde controls the protagonist's body?? Its... kinda-NTR but not really?). A large number of misc. scenes / fetishes.

Strategy guide:

The skill-system is interesting and done well enough to warrant a strategy discussion. The game starts you off with three active skills and one passive skill:

* Power Generator -- +10% to attacks for the next 8-seconds
* Dark Impact -- High-damage, low-zone control
* Acid Rain -- High-zone control, low-damage
* Strengthening Spell -- +20 HP passive skill

You are also given "Power Generator+" and "Acid Rain+". The "+" skills have a random bonus applied to the skill, making them strictly better than base skills. As you gain skill points from multiple days of rest, you get the option to "upgrade" (poor choice of word) a base skill. Upgrading a base skill is more like "cloning" the skill, and the cloning process will randomly give you a +, ++, or + (yes, a bold, red plus). The bold-red + will have 3 random bonuses, the ++ has 2-random bonuses, and + has 1-random bonus. These skills carry over between New Game+ runs.

1636506654735.png

There is some kind of "element-typing" going on in this game. There's Dark, spirit, physical, technology attacks. Each kind deals different amounts of damage to differing heroines. For example, Dark attacks do the most to Code Silence (blue-hair), while Physical-attacks deal the most to Citron (yellow-hair). In contrast, Arnesta (red-hair) has high defense against Physical attacks. The more a skill is used, the more "Dexterity" Clyde gets with the skill: it gets fractions of a second faster and faster, until maximum dexterity is reached. You'll find that reusing the same attack across multiple heroines (ex: Acid Rain+) so that the particular skill gets more-and-more dexterous, is a great strategy.

The GUI makes it obvious: You can see "Damage Range", and that Code Silence (Blue-hair) is furthest on the left. (I have censored-out the secret-boss as a spoiler, who takes the most damage from this particular attack). As such, Code Silence is the character you probably want to use Acid Rain against.

There are also "Reactive skills".

1636506858626.png

Arnesta has a strong buff called "Divine Protection". It causes +20% attack and +20% defense for 15 seconds. However, each time she casts "Divine Protection", Clyde learns the spell little-by-little. Eventually, Clyde gets access to the the "A" form (which acts like a counterspell). This "green" reactive skill will counter-spell and negate Arnesta's Divine Protection, as long as your deck was active as she casts the spell.

Of course, you also get Divine Protection D (the +20% buff) for yourself.

There's probably an optimal "Megaman-like" walkthrough where you play the heroines in the right order, to unlock the right skills to fight each of them. But frankly, the JRPG element wasn't difficult enough to warrant that. With enough rest cycles and +muscle, you'll be able to get through your 1st playthrough fine, even on normal mode. Hard Mode is hard enough to require a decent amount of strategy, but by then the bread-and-butter skills should have been learned in time for your 2nd playthrough.

You'll unlock the more important skills in your 1st playthrough naturally. You'll want to equip the reactive skills that negate your opponent's strongest buffs (such as Arnesta's Divine Protection. +20% damage / +20% defense simultaneously is no joke!!).

--------------------

In Battle:

Within a battle, you really only have the choice of:

1. Buffing -- Playing spells like "Divine Protection D" (aka: +20% attack and +20% defense yourself)
2. Reactive Counterspells -- Playing skills like "Divine Protection A" (aka: prevent Arnesta from casing Divine Protection)
3. Dealing HP Damage -- Dark Impact deals a high amount of HP damage
4. Dealing Zone Control -- Acid Rain has high Zone control

In my experience, Zone Control is by far the most important. Zone Control converts into "Taunts" in the taunt-stage of the battle, and taunts are how you ultimately corrupt a heroine. Without zone control, you can't even taunt.

Furthermore, Zone Control adds to your +Attack and +Defense. Meaning you'll live longer, AND deal more damage the higher and higher your Zone Control is. For your first playthrough, you should try to keep Zone Control above 50%, maybe even 70% or higher when battles get difficult near endgame. Sure, that 30% taunt does a huge amount of corruption / defilement in one go, but going from 90% to 60% Zone Control can very easily cause the heroine to deal far more damage to you than you expect. Keep Zone Control up as much as possible.

As such, I recommend playing Acid Rain as much as possible in the early game (before you have other skills). Later, Citron can get you "Smile Flash D" (90 zone control, but 0 damage dealt). Smile Flash D is probably one of the most important skills for speed-running this game.

-------------

Once KO'd (zero HP), a heroine enters a state of daze where you'll levy taunts. In your first playthrough, focus on the weaker taunts and keep your Zone Control above 50% so that you can stay alive. However, in New Game+ (especially when going for the Harem ending), you'll need to play more recklessly and speedrun.

When speedrunning for the Harem Ending, its important to deal as much corruption per battle as possible Here's my recommendation for speedrunning:

1. Before you knockdown the heroine once, make sure you reach 100% Zone Control. "Smile Flash D" is great for this, as it deals almost no damage at all but has the highest 90-zone control.

2. Perform the 30%, 30%, 20%, and 20% taunts. You'll deal anywhere from 60% (early game) to 25% (late game, 4-heart gem) corruption. Yes, this puts you at 0% zone control. Reckless, but necessary for speedrunning.

3. From 0%, rebuild zone control before the heroine murders you, lol. They deal so much damage, but... you need this reckless play to corrupt all heroines within the 60-day window of New Game+.

4A. In the early game, you might survive because the heroines aren't strong enough yet. With enough "Smile Flash D" and maybe "Acid Rain" here and there, you can reach 100% zone control before the 2nd knockdown.

4B. In the late game, the heroines are more durable, and likely won't retreat until you take them to 40% corruption gained, AND knocked them down at least 2 times. You can often play them to 5-knockdowns in the late-game. You can afford to knockdown heroines more often in late-game (which means maybe using more damage-skills rather than Smile Flash). Late game / Gem4, you'll probably only be doing 10% taunts for knockdown 2, knockdown3. Knockdown 4 or 5 is roughly the limit, you can hit 30% taunts and hope the girl retreats. (If she doesn't however, she'll murder you since those taunts really get rid of your zone-control).

5. Be very careful about the heroine's SP-meter. If the special-attack is unleashed, you're almost certainly going to die. Those super-attacks are no joke! If SP-fully charges, I recommend the retreat button before you die.

If you "accidentally" knockdown the heroine before Zone Control is high, feel free to just cancel-bind and let them go. The heroines should give you about 3 knockdowns (early game) or even 5-knockdowns (late game). As long as you're getting 50% corruption for most matches, you should be able to speedrun and get all heroines corrupted in time for the harem ending. (Feel free to only go for ~40% corruption for the 4th heart gem. The 4th heart gem is very difficult: with the heroines dealing more damage, with more skills, and increased resistance to your defilement taunts)

---------

Shortlist of important skills + heroines who unlock them.

* Acid Rain (Start of Game) -- 5 cost, high zone control, low damage. Dexterity of 8 seconds baseline / 6-seconds when maxed out. This is a very important skill for building up zone control while minimizing knockdowns. It is fast and useful, and even in repeated New Game+ I find myself using it often.

* Smile Flash D (Citron / Yellowhair unlocks) -- 7 cost, best zone control in the game. 13-seconds base / 11-seconds max is a medium speed skill, but heroines tend to run away if you knockdown too often. A near-zero damage skill like Smile Flash D is very useful for maximizing corruption, especially against Code:Silence (since she takes too much damage from Acid Rain, your "typical" +Zone skill).

* Lunatic Waltz A/D (Labyrinth / Blackhair unlocks) -- 2-cost for the A-type counterspell. 6-cost for the D-type spell. Freezes your opponent for 8-seconds. For high-damage enemies like Citron (Yellow-hair), this is a must-have for debuffing them. Labyrinth matches are extremely annoying because of this spell: she locks you down and beats you up with it. The A-type counterspell helps vs Labyrinth.

* Sacred Oracle D (Secret-boss) -- Resets 3-skills at random back to 0-charge. Combos well with Lunatic Waltz. The Secret-boss honestly isn't very difficult, so the A-version (counterspell) wasn't needed in my experience.

* Bind D (Arnesta / Redhair) -- -20% casting speed and -20% zone control for enemies. Arnesta doesn't cast Bind very often in my experience, so Bind-A (counterspell) isn't as useful. Combos well with Lunatic Waltz but don't cast them at the same time, lol. Alternate between the two skills.

* Divine Protection A/D (Arnesta / Redhair) -- +20% attack and +20% defense. Useful for finishing the game the first time, less useful for speedrunning. Extra damage means more knockdowns, which means heroines run away more often. Still, the +Atk/+Def boost is incredibly apparent when cast, and makes matches much easier.

* Mystic Eyes of Foresight (Labyrinth / Blackhair) -- 6-cost Passive +Zone Control on all attacks. Zone Control is important, buff it up!

Walkthrough

New Game Walkthrough -- New Game is pretty straightforward. No need to be optimized, I suggest just playing and having fun. One important note: the 10-day time-limit is mistranslated. You're not supposed to fight all the heroines, you're supposed to find all their 1st gem weaknesses (aka: talk to them with the exclamation point / !! icon active). You may lose a battle here and there, but the penalty is pretty small (just losing a day of rest). So I wouldn't sweat it too much.

Fully corrupting a heroine is a bit of work. Labyrinth (black hair) is the easiest to corrupt: only 3-heart gems, and her special scene is automatic. But you honestly have enough time to corrupt anybody IMO, as long as you focus on them. Silence (blue hair) is the 2nd easiest, also with 3-heart gems but she has a Sunday-only event that you need to trigger before her final taunt is unlocked.

Arnesta (Red hair), Aquila (Purple hair), and Citron (Yellow hair) are 4-gem heroines. You'll notice that the on the 4th gem, the heroine is much much stronger. You should have enough time to go for these three if you want them as your first ending but be ready for the difficulty spike on the 4th gem.

------------

CG-Collection

Arnesta, Aquila, and Citron (Red, Purple, and Yellow hairs) are 4-gem heroines with the following galleries:

* 1st Defilement -- Corrupt them the 1st time
* 2nd Defilement -- Corrupt them the 2nd time
* 3rd Defilement -- Corrupt them the 3rd time
* 4th Defilement -- Corrupt them the 4th and final time.
* Defilement Complete -- Corrupt them the 4th and final time.
* First Time Defiled Sex -- Defeat their corrupted form in a practice battle
* School Sex -- After the "Defilement Complete" events, you will have a few +relationship events at school. Once these pass, you'll unlock a school-sex scene ("Heart" event).
* Alternate Defilement -- Fail to fully corrupt on the 4th gem. That is, reach 100% corruption but WITHOUT the special taunt.
* Secret Defilement -- A special taunt comes up on maybe the 4th or 5th knockdown sometimes of the 4th gem. I've only been able to get the taunt if I'm at 95% to 99% corruption. This causes a "corruption failure" (corruption drops back down to 50% only), similar to "Alternate Defilement", except its a new scene.
* Yuri -- Every heroine has a Yuri-scene, where one corrupt-heroine has sexy-time with a pure-heroine. You can do this on the 3rd gem (3rd gem is much easier than 4th in my experience), if you plan out the scenes well. Reach 100% corruption while the specific corrupt-heroine is equipped as your helper.
* Ending -- One girl gets the ending each runthrough, and a scene for it.
* "Wholecome" -- I don't know how to describe this: but the girl basically goes on a date with the main character, and a CG is associated with it.

----------

Scene collections -- Scenes recycle the gallery (so no new CGs), but you get some voiceovers + story with these events.

* 1st Defilement Reprise -- Reach 100% corruption on the 2nd gem, causing a "Failure to corrupt" event. The 1st Defilement CG is played, but with different words / voice acting.
* School Sex Reprise -- Do the School-Sex a 2nd time, for different words/voice acting over the same CG.
* Alternate Defilement Reprise -- Reach 100% corruption on the 4th gem, a 2nd time.

Labyrinth and Silence (Black and Blue hairs) are 3-gem heroines with the following galleries:

* 1st Defilement
* 2nd Defilement
* 3rdDefilement
* Defilement Complete -- Notice you only need 3 defilements for these two.
* First time Defiled Sex
* Second time Defiled Sex -- A 2nd CG is given in the corrupt form for these two heroines, compared to the other three.
* School Sex
* Alternative Defilement -- Same as before
* Secret Defilement -- Again, I'm not sure how I unlocked them, but it seems to be ~4th or 5th knockdown at 95% to 99% corruption to get the special taunt. Maybe you need to try all other taunts as well?
* Yuri
* Ending
* Wholesome

---------

Secret Heroine: Only has 2 gems, much fewer scenes than the others.

* First Defilement
* Second Defilement -- Only two gems
* Defilement Complete -- After the 2nd Defilement automatically
* Alternative Defilement -- Reach 100% on the 2nd Gem WITHOUT using the final taunt
* Secret Sex -- Reach 100% on the 2nd Gem using the secret taunt. Seems to occur around 95% to 99% corruption on the 4th knockdown, though I'm not entirely sure about the specific details.
* First Encounter -- Complete your 1st game
* Ending -- Last Heroine's ending
* Harem -- Corrupt the 5 heroines before corrupting the secret heroine.

--------

Yuri Cycle:

* Labyrinth (Black Hair) -> Arnesta (Red Hair) -> Aquila (Purple Hair) -> Citron (Yellow Hair) -> Silence (Blue Hair) -> Labyrinth.

Or more verbosely:
* Corrupt Labyrinth has a Yuri-scene with pure-Arnesta.
* Corrupt Arnesta has a Yuri-scene with pure-Aquila.
* Corrupt Acquila has a Yuri-scene with pure-Citron
* Corrupt Citron has a Yuri-scene with pure-Silence
* Corrupt Silence (Siren) has a Yuri-scene with pure-Labyrinth

This game's interesting but also a hell of a time sink.

So managing to corrupt one of the girls is enough to avoid a game over and unlock New Game+?

Yeah, and you basically have 55 days to do so (10 days for the 1st part, 15 days for the 2nd part, and 30 days for the final corruption). You'll end up making progress on all of the girls in some fashion, because Gem4 is noticeably harder than Gem1. Besides, unlocking at least some of the skills from all of the heroines (ex: Bind, or Healing, or Smile Flash) really helps in general.

Thank god the sequel, Liberator did not go with the 'new game+' mode, disrupting the flow & resetting their hearts.

Wish I know the method of getting the secret sex. That 1 is tricky...

question: there are 7 endings in this game one for each goddess and a harem?

Game's a bit grindy if you plan to unlock all scene yourself.
If you can't bear to do it, apparently the full japanese save work to unlock the gallery... Just a last resort since it's more a game for the story / gameplay than for the H collection.

I've got ++ on blue and green skills, red-bold + on green skills (3-abilities), and red-bold ++ on red skills (that's FOUR abilities tacked on).

1636904348971.png

So I don't know what the limit is on any of these. Red++ is very rare, Red+ is quite rare. The yellow++ are somewhat common to me.

How exactly does the rarity works? My passives are unable to get ++ yellow. And my active abilities has potential to become single Red.

Do i need to keep selecting the blue continously for it to become a ++ / red?

I'm working on heroine #6 myself, but I'll guess your answer is "beat her repeatedly without finishing her off." As the OP explained, you can get different scenes and CGs if you push a gem to 100% without using the finishing taunt, and then the gem will reset to 50% so you can try again. If she only has two gems, then all of the "alternate defilement" events are going to be tied to beating her again and again on the second gem.

@omega Ark - your chance to get better skills is based on your difficulty level. I think you just have a % chance roll and your chance for ++/red is really low on easy/normal (like 5%/1% probably). Selecting a skill repeatedly will give you copies with different sub properties but doesn't improve your % chance of getting a higher grade.

My own question - are certain events just hard timed-gated? On my New Game+ I got Arnesta (Red) to her 3rd gem very quickly (like within the first week), and now I'm at day 22 and the "!" to get that level's finisher taunt hadn't spawned yet. (Arnesta was my main target in my first playthrough, so she's been my chewtoy while I chip at #6 in my second playthrough.)

Edit: Yep, Arnesta requires a Sunday date (that doesn't show up until day 26?) before you can corrupt her 3rd gem.

* First Defilement
* Second Defilement -- As you noted, only two gems
* Defilement Complete -- After the 2nd Defilement
* Alternative Defilement -- Reach 100% on the 2nd Gem WITHOUT using the final taunt
* Secret Sex -- Reach 100% on the 2nd Gem using the secret taunt. Seems to occur around 95% to 99% corruption on the 4th knockdown, though I'm not entirely sure about the specific details.
* First Encounter -- Complete your 1st game
* Ending -- Last Heroine's ending
* Harem -- Corrupt the 5 heroines before corrupting the secret heroine within the 60-day limit.

Oh, you might have to clear the game once to do this, but right-clicking on the title screen brings up a list of every scene in the game, and watching the scenes from this menu counts for gallery unlocks.

Amusingly, there's scenes (just dialogue, no CG) for each of the main 5 heroines managing to kill you. Which I had no idea they could actually pull off.

Edit: Also, I think higher magic power increases your chances of getting better skills. I started getting ++ and red + skills noticeably more often once I cleared 2K magic power on my second playthrough.

I may have found a breakthrough, but you can progress the corruption while not moving to the next day.
Here's how:
Just keep corrupting them in battles until they leave the battle
As soon as they leave the battle, you can just go to the backlog and jump back 1 line
(the corruption progress should stay at when they left the battle and you can keep corrupting her with no date change)

Yeah, that's definitely an exploitable bug. As long as your backlog goes to the start of the fight, you can Change Scene to jump straight back into the fight and go at it again. Your HP carries over but that isn't a problem if you let the thing run all the way through your late night rest stuff before jumping back.

Alternatively, if you pull off an alternate defilement you can jump to the end of the defilement scene and get your points reward repeatedly.

Gems progress/magic power/late night activity/deck points all accumulate independently of the days counter. So as long as your backlog reaches, you can just keep fighting a girl until you're ready to move on.

It's clearly not intended but Clive trapping one of the girls in a timeloop with himself actually feels completely in character too.

Edit: I forgot to add way back that while your days/deadline doesn't advance, certain flags still do, so you can actually lock yourself out of events by doing this. So the playthrough I tried the exploit I ultimately wound up locking myself out of advancing the girl I was going for and wound up going after a different girl (who I hadn't really started, so her flags weren't fucked up) to clear the playthrough.

Sorry to necro an old thread, but I had a question about unlocking the various endings. I've beaten the game twice (once normally and once on NG+). It seems to me that once you unlock NG+, you're locked out of the other endings. You get one heroine's ending from the first playthrough, but in NG+ you have to defeat Spoiler Heroine, which overrides all other endings. Is the only way to unlock all the heroines' scenes to defeat them without going into NG+? Or am I simply missing something?

Again, sorry for necroing a thread from 3+ years ago, but I'm stumped and can't find help elsewhere.

In NG+, you get the ending for the first girl you completely corrupt. Or the harem ending if you actually pull off all six in a single run.

Heroine #6 has her own ending if you corrupt her first, but she doesn't override anyone if you fully corrupt a different girl first.
