Heya!

For recording, I use Fraps.

For converting the videos I record, I'd like to have an easy-to-use, no-watermarks converter, with no option of editing.
I used to use DVDVideoSoft for quite a while, but I made the mistake of upgrading to the latest version, which inflicted advertisements on their MP4 video converter with the latest version.

To be honest, I'd go for DVDVideoSoft programs again, as they were reliable and fast. But now that they charge money for their services, I'm looking for alternatives. And even though I dug through a Google search, I can't tell apart which programs are free, ad-free, watermark-free and whatnot-free.

I would appreciate any suggestions for a decent video converter. :)

Try FFMPEG. Or WinFF if you want something with GUI.

WinFF doesn't have the same, easy-to-use options for quality, but I used it to convert a test recording, and the quality's great as is. I'll keep using it, thanks alot for helping me out! :)

Have you tried handbrake? It was frequently recommended by the anime community.

As a matter of fact, yes I did. It's free, but it is VERY slow at converting, in my opinion.

Still thank you for the recommendation. :)

I used erightsoft "Super" product (sorry no link yet, I am not authorized to post url) to convert movies. It was working pretty well but I did not really pay attention to speed. It is free and without watermark (last time I checked)
I remember it was kinda hard to download it since the website is unclear but after that it was quite easy.
