Need a GIF maker & Audio Editor (preferably free)

Like the title says, I kinda need a GIF maker program and an Audio Editor program. It's kinda difficult to google for something like this because so many of the free ones are laced with nasty viruses and trojans.

I wouldn't mind buying one if the license isn't temporary and if it's really cheap (like $5 or less cheap).

The GIF maker can be as simple as possible. I know there's an online gif maker, imgflip.com, but the output quality (and the watermark) leaves something to be desired.

For an audio editor I just need something that can cut apart sound files and save them as .ogg format. Needs to be able to open .wav and .mp3 files.

Define GIF maker. You mean something that can make videos into GIFs? Or make gifs from a string of images

I already have Audacity installed on my computer.
But like a total klutz I forgot where it was and what it was called.

I'll be recommending GIMP, then. It's a poor-man's-photoshop, and it has some good GIF capabilities, especially for GIFs that have parts that sit still, as it has a filter that will automatically turn those into transparency which will make "still"er GIFs a lot smaller

I didn't know GIMP could do that. I'll check it out.

I usually use Paint.NET for any image editing.
I wish it had gif-making capabilites.

you can get gyazo, it has video and gif capablities xD
